Painful cavity fillingI made my appointment for cleaning and cavity filling. I arrived on time to my appointment. I was brought into a room quickly. Hygienist tells me that they will only have time to do the cleaning and not the filling but says that they will do their best to do both but no promises. She cleans my teeth well and they had time to squeeze in my filling. Dentist comes in and starts to drill at my cavity and I feel a sharp pain and my reaction was to move her hand out of my mouth. She asks if it hurt and I say yes. Dentist days that it will be quick and starts to drill again. I push her hand AGAIN because she was causing me a lot of pain. She then puts lidocaine to numb my gums for a few minutes then proceeded to inject local anesthesia. She waits a few minutes then returns to continue drilling and I flinched when she started because I could still feel the pain. The anesthesia didnt even have time time start working properly because they were in such a rush to finish. After I came home I noticed the side of my tounge was red and cut from the drill. This was not my first cavity filling and Ive never had an issue before I got a filling here. Will not be coming here for a filling if I were to need one in the future.

They were able to make an emergency appointment for my daughter same day. Such a friendly staff! Everyone was very nice and accommodating! I definitely definitely recommend!!!

5 years if great service and Thank you Chacha for helping my child.I was told by Dr. Hayes that she will not guarantee any dental work. This is not car repair. After 3 month, childs crown fell off I was charged because insurance doesnt cover repairs... Of course they dont... Doctor should cover who didnt set it correctly.Before complaint I was charged 200$ with discount.. after complaining I was told not authorized discount and charged $300. And was told to complain to corporate... With a child in a seat.

Went in for a cleaning 6 months ago and met (Dental provider Honey). Wow what a pleasant experience, she was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain what she saw and why, as well as educate me on what I can do to prevent things from getting worse. Fast forward to 12/11/20 time for my cleaning. (Honey) remembered me. I now look forward to my appointments because it’s a pleasant experience.

This place is a rip off I will never go there or recommend this place to anyone. I took my husband there for a filling and a Crown They were not supposed to charge him for X-ray as a first time visitor we end up being charged they dont tell you they dont use silver filling and they never tell you that you will get charged on white filling that the insurance will never cover you. You will be surprised when you see the bill but by then it will be too late Save your money and find another place to go for your dentist need Their staff is not that much caring when you call them they dont care and theyre not helpful Dont waste your money there please

Went to extract my tooth, it was broken to the gum level, was very scared and anxious, Dr Helay was very patient, and skillful, she helped me to relax and she made the process very easy and pain free, and I left very satisfied, she is the best.

My daughters appointment was booked about 6 weeks back for 7th June and I just got a call that we are rescheduling it for one month after for some date in july!!! She is on medicaid kids plan I am 100% sure thats the reason and their another branch which is located at Mount Prospect gave an appointment in May and when we arrived there on the appointment date she says that we dony accept medicaid and even if our clinic sees your child we will not transfer the medical record to our another branch so the other branch you go in a way could not assist her. What a pure nuisance this company is. Heads up, they need FIRST CLASS INSURANCE OR MONEY if you dont have it dont even bother to call and waste your time. Unfortunate, emergency, I can understand, there is nothing we can do are normal excuses you will hear from them

Horrible please find another dentist for you kids!! My sons teeth spacer fell out I called right away to make an appointment so they scheduled appt week later. We had an appointment last Wednesday at 1240pm.. They took us inside the treatment room hour later asking me if I still have the spacer because the insurance it will not cover a new one even though this one was in a bad shape I told them that I want my son to have a new one so they wrote me an invoice for $300. I told them that they should replace the spacer because obviously something was wrong with it that it fell off the tooth. I put the spacer on the table (regular table) and was waiting for the doctor for another 30 min she was in and out the room. When she came in doctor is like was he biting on it? well he had it in his mouth so I guess he was biting on it so she is like he should not eat gummy bears or chew gum then it wouldnt fell out I was like OMG. (WAIT IT GETS BETTER)….she took the spacer (not sanitized) and was putting in my sons mouth so I said this is not clean and why are you putting it in my sons mouth. She put the spacer on the little dentist table where all the instruments are and left the room. Again we were waiting until her assistant came in and she is like I will take the spacer to the sterilizing machine so we can try it on your sons tooth crazyyyy. In the meantime doctor was treating another patient Then again we were waiting....my son is 6 he was ready to go. Dr Haley came back and she is like the spacer doesnt go in what do you want me to do with a huge attitude REALLY? arent you a doctor???What would you suggest??? She asked me when the spacer fell out so I told her week ago and you didnt have any earlier openings she I like o good that you came in now because the teeth are moving. I asked her to try another size or another one so she is like you have to pay so I said that I will not pay because is not my sons fault that it fell off. She let the room and called Yelena I belief is is the manager. When she came in she is like yeah the insurance cover only one spacer but oo o you dont have to pay because she already saw that I was mad for waiting soo long and all the other stuff. The doctor comes in she didnt even try new spacer in a different size and she is like it doesnt go in he needs to go to UIC you need to make an appointment with the specialist I asked her why before when she was putting the spacer which was couple month ago maybe 2 or 3 you didnt send me to UIC but you were trying so hard to put on. Then she tried other ones which put my son in tears because he was already tired and scared and she is like no it doesnt work again she is like WHAT DO YOU WANT ME DO TO you cannot ever imagine how she was talking to me with such an attitude in front of my child like I don know anything. Honestly never ever in my life I experienced something like that from a doctor that is supposed to be a professional dentist. Dentist that doesnt know how to talk to patients should not be working as a dentist. Dr Haley and the assistant with red short hair not sure of her name should be out o that office they are treating patients horribly. Lastly we left at 340pm

This is by far the worst place I’ve ever been to. Every time you go the doctors are different and if you have a good insurance, they will always find dental issues to work with. This place has many locations so it operates as a business and cares about how much money it makes off of you and not your health. Please save yourself the headache. And not to mention, their services are terrible. You will end up with more damage then before. STAY AWAY!!!

One of the hygienists told me she was refusing to get her COVID shot because she considers it dangerous and deadly. If this is the sort of person whose paycheck you want to contribute to, or the sort of person you would like putting their fingers in your mouth, then by all means schedule an appointment.

CheatersThese people will purposefully do the treatment that is not covered under insurance and when it gets rejected by insurance, they will send heavy invoice to pay. It happened with me multiple times that they did treatment in the name of “included in the service” and then I get an invoice of the same. I don’t understand when its not covered under insurance, isn’t this your responsibility to let the patient (customer for them) know that it will be an out of pocket expense so that the patient can decide for the service. But no, they will never tell this because if they tell you, how will they cheat you. Cheaters running business after your money. Highly disappointed and will never refer anyone here ever.

Honey was fantastic!

I had my first filling by Dr. Lee this week and he was incredible! I did not have any pain and he walked me through everything he was doing, as he was doing it, which was very comforting. I am not afraid of the doctor by any means, but the entire appointment was very calming and professional. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes!

I do not recommend this place! Still coming back with a complaint! my seal lasted one day, a badly made crown keeps falling out! long waiting for someone to take an interest in you, I lost my nerves and time !!!

I just went to this dentist yesterday for another cleaning and all I can say is wow. The person looking over my teeth, Dr.Lee, was the nicest person and the most dedicated to his job from anyone in the medical field I have ever seen. He made sure to tell me everything too watch out for with the current state my teeth are in and was just so nice in everything. Props to this place for letting him work here! I love this place

I had a great experience with Dr. Lee at First Family Dental. :) I would recommend him to my friends and family. I like how he explained everything to me before he did it. It was a very comfortable setting.

I hate having to go to the dentist! But if I have to go ( and I do since it’s a matter of good health and hygiene), First Family Dental is definitely my choice. They are efficient and begin appointments on time. They are thorough and careful (gentle) when cleaning. They use restraint in recommending procedures. They often wait and “monitor“ a problem area or tooth rather than to do some expensive procedure. I don’t leave thinking that I’ve just put their sons or daughters through college. Then there is their kindness and friendly demeanor. They are lovely persons who are genuinely caring and empathetic. I really like First Family Dentist even though I only want to see them 2 times a year!

Make sure what services you are going to get and if they are covered in insurance or not. These people are very professional in not telling what is covered and what is not. They will do whatever they can and want in light if treatment and then you will get an invoice when Insurance rejects their claim. Either you pay or struggle with Insurance, its your headache because these people are sitting there to make money in whatever way they can. I wish I had asked before getting the services, I would have not been ringing phones here and there and end up paying all from my pocket. These people will not listen to you at all, instead will threaten you to send your invoice for collections if not paid. Horrible experience !!! Avoid at all cost :(

Absolutely the best place to go for what we all know is not usually a favorite type of medical need! Everyone is excellent! From the receptionists to the dental assistants and especially Dr Thomas Lee! I called the office and was amazed at how quickly I was able to get in as a brand new patient and I’m so grateful they got me in as fast as they did because I had 2 severely infected teeth that Dr. Lee extracted. Through the whole process he made me feel totally comfortable, he talked me through everything he was doing because he knew I was nervous, and even when 1 of my teeth was stubborn and didn’t want to come out, Dr. Lee was constantly asking me if I was doing okay, if I needed a break (even though he was doing all the work!) and reassuring me that there was nothing wrong and the tooth would eventually come out. And he was right! I highly recommend 1st Family Dental of AH to everyone! Especially over a different dental office in Wheeling who told me those 2 severely infected teeth “only” needed very expensive crowns!

I absolutely love this place. Everyone is so friendly, they are so wonderful with kids, and they do a great job with cleaning our teeth. My sons first dentist appointment was here and for his first appointment they showed him the tools first so he could see they’re not scary before they cleaned his teeth and it definitely worked! I called in asking if they removed wisdom teeth and instead of saying no they said yes. So once I arrived and did the xray, they informed me they can only pull out 1 of my teeth and the other 3 I would have to go somewhere else to have them pulled out. So I spent $200 so they can tell me they can’t do the surgery.

This is a great dentist! Our family has been using this office for more than 10 years. The staff has been very warm and friendly through the years. The office is very well maintained. We are very happy with the service they provide.

I came to 1st Family after an unpleasant experience at Hanover Dental: it was recommended to me that I need expensive periodontal cleaning, but I was suspicious of that information, and their process.From start to finish 1st Family Dental was an outstanding experience. The office is clean with nice comfy furniture, and the front staff was friendly. Dr. Silvio was outstanding with his initial examination, his recommendation, and the cleaning. He clearly explained everything, and obviously both he and the technician were concerned about me as a patient. I cannot recommend highly enough!

I am very pleased with my experience here so far. Dental visits always cause me anxiety. The friendliness and thoroughness of the staff was calming and exceptional. I love that the waiting room is big and comfortable, and there are enough exam rooms to accommodate their patients. Also I felt like there was enough privacy, so I could discuss whatever my issues were with the dentist, without worrying about others listening in.Very satisfied from check in to check out.

After my initial visit to the office I was impressed on how nice the staff were, how neat the lobby was, and felt cozy while waiting. After taking some time to fill out the necessary forms I was seen in a timely fashion and gave accurate diagnosis of what needed to be done and will definitely return to a place that takes insurance from individuals with low income, accepts Medicaid, etc.

My experience with this location is worst ever. I usually do not write reviews but here I must to write. Instead of them working out the problem with me I was calling them and asking for resolution.I did root canal with crown. Very painful experience first of all. Additionally crown did not fit from the first attempt and I was have to wait another two weeks beside that I have waited two for the wrong one. More than one month struggle was with this. Next fitted crown is black on the top, poor look. And because of THEIR mistake and to cover expenses of the first crown I guess they reported to my insurance those details that made me owe them money. I called them and explained the situation where I was told that this will be reviewed and taken care of. This was last communication which was made by me. Now after one year I am getting call from collection service with due amount more than it was originally. Rip off the every penny continued...? You are lying now that you called me and left voice message, I have history of messages for more than one year and didnt find one from you. You kept sending mails may be to my address where I was not living anymore. Call me and ask me, update me!!! You were careless and without any human thinking like robot kept sending notice and bills to my old address. Why you didnt call me and tell me that I have this issue and that my case will be sent to collection and you will charge even more? Well I know why, you just want to make money careless way and with what ever it takes ways.I even said that I will pay original due amount which is just 70$ less than they are charging me with collections service fees but they want all cents, cheaps. Now I will not pay any cent! Do whatever you want. And you will refund the crown that you did!

My appoint with !st Family Dental of Arlington Heights was outstanding! As a new patient, I was nervous because I did not know what to expect. The team there was incredible! Samantha took very good care of my dental needs. From the way that she carefully took xrays, probed my gums, checked for any infection, and the actual cleaning and polishing of my teeth. My examination was painless and did not take a long time at all. I highly recommend this facility to anyone in the area who is in need of a dentist.

Eveyone is very nice and professional. I like how they can work with children, my 4yr.old did great. The only thing I did not like was that it felt like they were rushing the whole time, like in a hurry to finish. It is nice to feel like you are getting your appointment time, the time you reserved. Other than that time issue everyone was wonderful!

The customer service was terrible. The way the woman who cleaned my teeth acted like I was 7. She told me I had a cavity and could’ve simply told me I could have flossed more but no. She acted like she needed to teach me a lesson. She wanted to make herself look like she had the power to do what she wanted to me. The actual dentist was very nice though.

Money oriented clinic. Does not tell you upfront that they use some super costly product to do normal check up. I ended up in spending good amount of money just because of the so called high quality product. The provider misguided me. Never ever go here. I was not suspicious about their motive and went to another dental clinic and the issue turned out to be non issue.Dont go there. They are money milking machines.

If I could give zero stars I would I’ve been going to this location for many years and it just got bad it seems like they changed most of their staff the receptionist are rude and dont know what they are doing they gossip about patients they are very unorganized and take for ever I had an appointment at 1230 it took 30 min to get called in and an other 20 for someone to come see me I was supposed to get an estimate for a retainer but that took another 40 mins by that time it was 2 pm and I finally decided to leave I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone anymore

Its very unprofessional to not contact patients if their appointment is cancelled due to no doctor being available. I took off of work early to make the appointment. Also, Im certain that was an excuse. I was checked in and sat for 15 minutes before someone came up and said the doctor left after saying (amongst themselves) that they essentially double booked. Then when I was rescheduling I couldnt even get another day that worked for my schedule. Definitely poor business practice. It appears that scheduling needs some improvement there. Also, your system that ensures the visit is confirmed does not work. So frustrating!

I spent an entire weekend in extreme pain, and was apprehensive of coming in for an exam. The front desk personnel was very pleasant, and made checking in as a new patient quick and easy. I ended up needing an emergency extraction. Dr. Alsaleh, and her assistant Elvira, treated me with the outmost care, compassion and skill. I highly recommend this practice, and especially the doctor.

Edit: We gave many chances to that location, today was a last straw. After I asked if my child is in pain, doctor threw a tantrum, dropped instruments and left the room. I never ever saw such horrible service anywhere. e are done.Well, we been patients for over 10 years, its getting worse and worse, last time we came for appointment, there were 4 ladies sitting behind the counter, chatting about someones wedding, turned their back to us. I waited and waited until someone will pay attention, it took awhile! Sitting area was dirty, table covered with used paper water cups, dirty napkins. There are so many people doing nothing but chatting all the time we waited for appointment, nobody would care to clean. Time to find another office.

Ok the place looks all fancy but waiting for 45 mins is pretty long for a check up, i have better things to do not just waiting around till they feel like calling my name. Ive been coming here for 3 years now, its aggravating for them to do this, after this visit i will be changing my dentist

This dentistry doesnt worry about your teeth if you have medicaid they always tell youre okay you dont need anything done just your every 6 months cleaning. Shame on them i dont recommend at all.they just want your money.

BEWARE! Dont waste your time, money and most important YOUR CHILDRENS HEALTH! The Dentist was 9 months pregnant female. She almost delivered there and than on the insurance official documentation was name of male dentist!!! Something wrong? They will tell you: yes we take your insurance and couple weeks later, youll take money out of your pocket and pay. Never again! Went in for a filling with x-rays done at another First Family Dental location. Dr. Rawan Tannous took a look at them for about 30 min and said there is no cavity where there obviously is one... They then took more unnecessary x-rays and said she doesn’t have time to do the filling I came in for... Really? How do you even tell this to a patient? If you don’t have time to treat patients, why are you in at work. I have already reported this to my insurance. We live in the 21st century and in a first world country, this should not be happening. *The 3 stars are for the rest of the wonderful staff!* ps. Dr. Basha is one of the best dentists there.

Very upset with their service. They were not thorough when they explained which doctors were in-network and out of network. They should start using terminologies thats easily understood by their customers instead i really felt cheated on when i received a bill where i had to pay 2 times more than what my insurance had to pay bc the office failed to tell me that the doctor was out of network. So just a heads up to anyone who is going there, makesure you ask them specifically for in-network doctors if not be ready to receive a fat bill home. This is my first time writing a review ever bc it really made me that upset. Although i do think their equipments and office is very clean and neat but just not thorough with their explanations!

Ive been here with my son 4 or 5 times already. We just came from his 4 year old visit. And I have to say that he absolutely loved it there, which is saying a lot since we are talking about a dentists office. Both the assistant and his dentist were absolutely lovely and they made him feel comfortable and at ease. They were very attentive and careful with him. My family has been going to 1st family dental for quite some time but I stayed with my regular dentist of 30+ years. After my family kept praising them (Dr Basha specifically), I finally made the switch. I had gone to my regular dentist after 4 years of being away and didnt recognize any of the new faces, and they were very ambiguous and impersonal. Dr. Basha and 1st family treated me VERY well and remembered me a year after I had first gone to them for a second opinion on a job I didnt trust my regular dentist for 30+ years on. They are great and I will be going to them from now on. Thank you 1st family! And to Dr. Basha, you are amazing! My family loves you!

I can highly recommend Dr. Ramzi Duaibis for any Orthodontic treatment, The stuff speak different languages, and accept most insurances, plus its clean, and modern.. I have got a good experience.

The best dentist for your child! It was the most painless & comfortable dentist appointment for my 5 yo daughter. We switched to 1st Family Dental after leaving another dental practice where we didnt have too great experience. I was extremely happy with the level of service that was provided. The customer service was great and the staff were very professional. Dr. Tannous and the dental hygienist were very thorough and had fantastic approach to my daughter. She explained her everything she will be doing. I would highly recommend this dental practice for parents with small children especially Dr Tannous!!!

The staff at First Family Dental are helpful and knowledgeable. Several came in to gather information before the Doctor arrived.I am very grateful to Dr. Murphy for taking an x-ray of what is left of my left front tooth. The x-ray showed that the previous dentist had placed the screw in sideways rather than straight in. Had I allowed the previous dentist to place a crown on the tooth, as he planned, it would not have held very long.The staff were very kind in giving my samples of Biotene salve and rinse for blisters on my tongue and a very dry mouth.I will return to Ist Family Dental in two weeks.

I was extremely nervous to visit FFD in Arlington Heights office today, as I usually go to FFD in Elgin and love Dr. Akhikar. However, today, I was in so much pain that driving to Elgin was not an option, so I scheduled the first available appointment, closest to me, which was in Arlington Heights with Dr. Tannous.The staff and Dr. Tannous were exceptionally helpful, caring and professional. Doctor and her kind dental assistant Elvira were highly attentive to my needs. I had an extraction done and Dr. Tannous was patient, gentle and pleasant. She immediately addressed my fear of needles and made my experience a positive one and most importantly, pain free. Dental numbing was painless. The amount of anesthetic administered was perfect! Tooth extraction was painless. The cost of my procedure was clearly communicated to me. Doctor and staff were courteous, passionate about what they do and simply great! So why isn’t everyone talking about this place? :)

When I entered I was greeted with a smile and a hello, my wait time was brief and I was on my way home shortly thereafter. Very pleased.

I had unfortunately so bad experience withDr. Hoyoung Choi about a month ago. I had crack in one of my premolar teeth. 1st bad thing that they have to take many times X- Ray to get clear Image. 2nd, Anastasia was not done properly at all, and I have gotten so much pain when he started. 3rd, front Desk try giving me very far schedule to re- do my tooth with is they do not care about my pain that I am having it now due to their poor work. I do not recommend 1st Family Dental in Arlington Heights location at all. Very bad experience. Matthew matti.
