I’ve read the reviews, and good and bad, they may very well be true. If you’re just looking for a gym, this is the place to go. I wasn’t looking for a Lifetime or LA fitness, I was looking for a place to go work out. It’s great. So far if I have any questions people have been there to answer them, but I usually just want to be left alone to work out. Great facility with everything I need. For all of you complaining about the lil things, go spend $100+ at one of the big guys. If you’re actually serious about your fitness, PF is the best for your money.Side note-I get the mask thing, but it’d be nice if I was making sure I didn’t pass out if I wasn’t reminded I have to have my mask on multiple times.

New location. Love the clean equipment. Good amount of treadmills and ellipticals. Some weights and other equipment. Staff are polite and attentive. I love coming at night when I can. Being a black card member I get to use the tanning booths and massage chairs. Truly a good hang for your buck

I would recommend Planet Fitness to anyone looking for an affordable gym experience. One thing I was very disappointed in was the inappropriate selection of a movie on 1 of the several televisions to be viewed while working out. Not only were my husband & I disgusted by what was on the TV, but am thankful there were not any minors in the building at the time this movie was shown. Poor judgement!

Great facility. Staff is very attentive. They take cleanliness and COVID-19 protocols seriously here. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a gym that is open 24/7 and has about everything you might need to get a good workout in.

I absolutely love this gym! I am super pleased with way the gym is maintained. It is also very affordable and the staff is very friendly. I have been to three other gyms and this gym by far is my favorite.

I really wish I could write a great review of Planet Fitness, as initially I had high hopes of their Judgement Free Zone really being a safe place for me. As someone with a hidden disability, unfortunately I found that the values of accepting everyone just is not true, at least at the Apple Valley location. I have a well-trained Emotional Support Dog, who I have the proper identification for and for whom the manager had approved and had no concerns. I had two separate situations where I was kicked out, very rudely, in front of many people watching, making it too humiliating for me to return. Because my disability (as much as I hate that term!) is not seen, I was not only treated as if I was breaking a rule (which I was not), but was also discriminated against on the basis of my disability. I asked twice for my membership to be cancelled, and was told that although it was not done when I had asked well over a year ago, I will only be refunded 3 months worth of membership fees. In trying to resolve the membership fees - respectfully - that have been taken out of my account after I requested the cancellation, I spoke with a manager who was rude, spoke over me, interrupted and told me that there was not anyone else to speak with in order to resolve the concerns. Im honestly not in the habit of doing reviews, and really wanted Planet Fitness to be a positive thing - I even had a friend sign up originally and was posting positively on social media in the first few months of my membership. Unfortunately, I just found that the Judgement Free Zone doesnt seem to apply to someone like me, with a disability. If you are like me, I would be cautious - and if you cancel your membership, you better check it, and double check it, and triple check it, and check it again. Because Ive lost way too much money that I dont have on an experience that has been awful.

Didnt think I would care for this place. I was wrong. The tanning and massage chairs are great for relaxing after your work out. The staff is very nice and helpful. I love the 30 minute Express workout. What a great idea for people who are clueless what to do in the gym. And cant really beat the rates. 25 bucks a month. Just bring a towel if you plan to shower. No towels.

Went to planet fitness in the evening. Upon checking in, I wasn’t greeted by either of the 2 employees.There were 2 employees at the desk (one guy with dark brown hair and wore a white with blue cap, and a red-head girl with a snobby attitude). They both just looked at me, but nothing was said... As I was leaving, no one was at the desk.

First time here a few weeks ago and I apologize that I forgot the girls name who helped me. But she was so kind and helpful. I do belong to a gym now and wanted to check this one out due to moving in the area soon. I work in customer service and this place will definitely be where I will be coming. And this company should be proud to have an employee so kind. Thank you for making my day better!

Planet fitness in apple valley is awesome! The staff always greets you at the door. It is affordable and the gym is well kept. You really do get the best bang for your buck here! Good amount of machines, free weights, and machines. Everyone is very accepting of each other no matter where you are in your journey of fitness!

This is a good PF. Clean facility, decent size with plenty of equipment. Shower were clean, great size with hot water (after a considerable time passing) I travel from coast to coast using PFs daily & this is one of the better ones. John/Jon was the only one on staff, greated me with a smile & a welcome & from what I could tell was always doing PF stuff, cleaning, ect unlike many PFs where the staff seems to be there to socialize with each other. Cant go wrong with this location.

I have joined this location about 8 months ago. So far best location i have been too! Staff is friendly and helpful. Restrooms always clean. Cant ask for more for the price. I love working out here.Only thing i would like to see is for the rest of the customers wipe down their machines after use. Please reinforce this rule.

It very clean and, the equipment is very good.

I’ve seen high school wrestling mats cleaner than the tanning beds here. Nothing like accidentally laying down in a puddle of sweat and grease- on several occasions. I understand that the staff is busy at times, and I’m happy to clean my own provided the solution; however, there is none in the rooms they are located.

I love working out during the overnight hours. The space in Apple Valley MN is big and great, but I like the wall where the treadmills are at the Burnsville, MN location due to privacy.

Good friendly staff, lots of machines so I rarely have to wait and the Black Card amenities are worth the upgraded member fee. Open 24/7 so hours are convenient. Unlike some gyms this place is fine for people who just want to maintain good health and get in shape. You can go in, work out at your own pace and just do what you need to do and then leave. I like their no judgment philosophy as I just want to work out not train like a triathlete.

Chill place to workout. Gets busy sometimes. But that’s expected of most gyms. Has Smith machines and very limited free weight space. But for the price it is a pretty good deal. You can still work out fine and have a good time.

TERRIBLE AND RUDE STAFF! I brought my disabled cousin as a guest last night and the overnight staff yelled at him for not checking in as a guest. I understand he is doing his job but he was not professional to handle this type of situation. His demeanor was offensive and rude, especially to my disabled cousin.In addition, bathroom was smelly and dirty. The staffed sat in a couch and watched TV the whole time. Other gyms have better amenities and they KEEP THEM CLEAN!!My money is better spent at a different gym.

Place is gross. The bathrooms smell like there is a serious sewage issue going on. There is almost never tissue in the bathroom stalls. Literally any other pf location is better than this one

Always clean, and provides an excellent place to culture a healthy lifestyle!You’ll be met with friendly faces welcoming you as you walk in the door, which is so nice when your walking in from negative 30 degree temps on a Monday after 12 inches of snow.I’ve been a member of PF for about a year, and have loved every single workout, and I was super jazzed to find out this location is closer to my house.Over all, this gym is:Modern,Clean,And full of people who just want you to succeed at all your weight loss and fitness goals!

If there is one Planet Fitness that makes me want to give up on the franchise. This is it. Ive been to 11 Planet Fitness in 4 different states. And this is the ONLY one out of ALL of them that consistently has freezing cold water. It doesnt matter what time of day. 8am, Noon, 5pm. All cold. Nevermind that theyve had a sign up for 8 MONTHS saying that they will fix the hot water. Forget it! Otherwise that, the staff is friendly and it remains clean like most of them.

Affordable gym, great equipment and rarely busy. No judgment, even though I think people ARE judging me. 24 hours access, can help you work off the White Castle sliders at 2am. Overall happy with Planet Fitness

Ive been coming here for about a year now, staff is always friendly, pricing is incredibly cheap, place is always clean or being cleaned when Im in. Free weights up to 75lbs, lots of equipment. Gets busy during peak hours but thats to be expected. No child care, but being 24/7 staffed is a big plus.

Clean, friendly staff, judgement-free atmosphere, very affordable membership. My only issue is that the place is ALWAYS busy. I went on Saturday at 5am to escape the crowd and there were still 3 dozen people there. Cant be helped tho since the gym is new and well maintained. Has everything you need to get in a good work out.

What a horrible company. So, we were members at Planet 19 that went out of business. Never notified that apparently our membership was picked up by Planet Fitness. They continued charging our company credit card. Recently, we would get spammed saying we had a past due bill at this location and yet there was no way to text or email back. We have never once stepped inside a Planet Fitness, signed any agreements with them or have ever even spoken to a rep. After going through 4 different representatives, we found out we had been charged as a business for 4 months of memberships and yet theyd only refund a portion. Their customers service stinks and we will never recommend them to staff or anyone who is looking for a club. The club manager said only a partial refund was company policy which evidently she in her managerial capacity has no control over. The remainder isnt worth my time to sue over but their business practices are dishonest at best. Shameful. Stay away!

Clean, somewhat friendly, lots of options. Cant knock the hours or the membership fees. I havent used the tanning areas yet, but otherwise,so far so good.

Wonderful staff who greet you whenever you come in. People complain about the limited equipment, but honeslty, if you’re creative this gym has everything you really need. The atmosphere is really nice and everyone does their own thing. I enjoy the student discount/promotion, which made things a lot easier for me! Keep it up!

The facility is alright - the customer service is atrocious.in response to owners response: Once the gym reopens I plan too. I tried contacting the club (and corporate) via email on numerous (5+) occasions and have received no responses.

Great location, always can get on the equipment I want to. Unfortunately the staff never really seems to be that helpful. Most the time I stand up at the front desk and no one is there to help me, and when I’m dissatisfied with something there’s nothing they can do. Pretty Disappointing...

Ive visited many planet fitness centers across the US. The Apple Valley location has the latest equipment and a pleasant staff. The manger at this location has been there since I joined a number of years ago and does a great job.

Best body workout! The entire staff if so supportive and encouraging. It’s wonderful to see everyone work hard each class.

Nice, clean facility. Friendly staff. Only complaints are one, that I got the upgraded membership for the “spa” amenities however they don’t verify that anyone has the membership when using the spa. So it makes me wonder why I spent the extra money. Second complaint is that parking sort of sucks for that large of a gym.

Its cheap. The staff are super friendly- when you dont get the Hitler manager (blondy as my gang refers to her), or military man. Im sure they are both nice outside of the club- but they need to work on their customer service skills inside it. They are both sharp and blunt with the way they deliver their words to their paying customers. It makes for an awkward time. All the other staff are rockstars- super friendly and accommodating!

I REALLY ENJOY WORKING OUT AT THE APPLE VALLEY PLANET FITNESS CLUB. THE STAFF THERE ARE AMAZING AND WILLING TO HELP YOU OUT, THERE ALSO FRIENDLY AND IT MAKES ME WANT TO GO BACK THE NEXT TIME.

I really like this gym. They have good equipment and it doesnt smell weird. They also have a nice locker room with regular sized lockers and small cubby lockers, which is important for me because I never carry a lock, just a a change of clothes and my keys. Other locations dont have the free cubby lockers and I have to drag my stuff around with me or run it out to my car.They have a ton of equipment, and its all in really good condition. Everything is taken care of. They also have multiples of every machine, so youre never waiting long for equipment.Literally the only thing I wish they had that they dont is a pool.

I purchased a $10 membership. I havent been able to use to to medical reasons. I never even received a scan card.I get informed can not cancel over the phone must be in person.I make it in March 1st to cancel. Cancelled I ask about refund for the mnth due to not able to use. The Blonde general manager says I need to bring in a Dr.Note stating I can not use there facility in order to get a refund.$41.37 was just taken out of my account, Im not asking for previous months never used. Im asking for the current month that I cancelled on & not using. How ridiculous, having to pay for something even after canceling

This is usually a great place. I would love to give it a five-star because the staff is always nice and friendly and helpful when you come at normal hours . but dont come here in the early mornings on weekends and expect to be able to use your black card. I got here at 4:50 a.m. today and ended up leaving at 5:25 a.m. because there was not a staff member in sight. I walked through the Black Card area and through other workout areas and I could not find a staff member. Not sure if there was even one there. Unfortunately this is how it is in the early mornings. My suggestion would be to at least glance at the desk every 10 minutes in case somebody comes in and would like to use their black card, its also a security issue there was a girl that came in while I was waiting and didnt bother to scan a card just walked in and went to the womens facilities and then walked around and started using the equipment. Im sure she was a member but she didnt sign in and there was no one there to try to enforce it either

I like Planet Fitness way more than I expected. It’s clean, has the work out equipment I want to use and is spacious enough compared to what I expected.

Great staff, nice atmosphere. Just wish there was better music that you could hear without ear phones or earbuds. The only bad thing is Showers they have curtains in them and theres mildew on them not sanitary. Mold is gross. Should have shower doors. Wish the water fountain had cold water, its only warm water.

I personally really like the place I like the fact that its judgment free and nobody has to go there with all these fancy workout outfits on. I can go in my sweatpants and a T-shirt and be just fine. It has every machine I ever want to use. And its close enough to me where I can walk theyre in the summer. Sometimes the bathroom needs a little work on it. I wish they would keep a paper towel or whatever towels they use in some sanitizer in there so when I do go if its bad I can wipe the seat off. Also Im not too fond of that music doesnt sound like music it sounds like a bunch of people screaming and I hate it that I can hear it over my headphones but Im not going to complain about nothing I really do like the place for the price to me its an excellent place to go. I went to the one in Burnsville the other night cuz I was in Burnsville doesnt compare to the one in Apple Valley.

Some locations better than others... Roseville MN is a nasty armpit and embarrassment. We quit them and moved on.

Good facility, but rather stupid to charge customers an annual fee a month after signing up. Id rather it be included in the startup cost than charge me another fee very shortly after signing up. Paper towels all over the gym for cleaning machines is nice, but none in the restrooms. Signs stating no judgement are posted, yet another sign accompanied by a light and alarm will go off if someone is working out very hard and happens to make too much noise. Mixed messages...Dumbells stop at 75lbs sadly.

Im giving it one star due to management i could only handle working there for 2 weeks because of Alexa. If you are okay with being disrespected and treated as less than go ahead and apply however if you are looking to be a valued and appreciated employee dont apply and look elsewhere. There were multiple occasions where Alexa whom is (22) me im 21 and got a management postition at age 18 because im hard working and a strong team leader. Alexa recently got promoted and doesnt know how to handle it I know she doesnt because I myself have managed a retail store for two years then decided to go into hospitality, this is because I know and understand good customer service skills and I also understand how to treat my team and employees with respect. I worked at planet SHITness for about two weeks and quit because 1) Im over qualified 2) Alexa is not a team leader 3) $10 an hour is not worth it to deal with Alexa. 4) many other employees had texted me after I quit and also told me they dont appreciate Alexa as management either. 5) she does NOT HANDLE customer service issues right away. I would tell her about a complaint and she would roll her eyes in irritation not wanting to deal with it. She didnt even want to deal with dakota county who came to discuss a trash complaint and forced me to reject him and take his contact information, too bad for her he wouldnt leave and demanded to see her when he left i asked her what it was about and she says dont worry about it I was concerned as a loyal employee and she wanted to give me sass. She is not responsible management. And now im salaried working for an insurance agency im WAY better off. . Alexa really needs to enhance her leadership skills. What a mess. There has been more than one complaint submitted to HR about her. She needs to learn to treat other people how she wants to be treated instead of stomping all over her team. Hannah W wrote this!.

I go to both the Apple Valley and the Burnsville clubs. Facilities are clean at both locations, equipment is in good condition, and staff are polite and helpful.

Locker room area seems ok, until you use the bathroom or the showers there dirty! Shower area has mold and the water is always really cold! Staff is a hit or miss here! Overnight worker is creepy and rude he walks by and stares at you as you work out.

I am only giving four stars because of my visit today 8/11/18. I went in and spoke with the staff about how I can contact the trainer. My work schedule doesnt allow me to be able to be able to meet with the trainer. Im typically at work before they show up and i dont get back home till later in the evenings. The guy at the desk although helpful did not have a single answer as to how could I contact the trainer, when is the best time I could reach the trainer, does the trainer have a company email i could directly message to speak with her. And to all of these questions and more the answer i received was oh, I dont know except to the does the trainer have an email. Which I was told he cant give out because shes a staff member.. Other then this one experience. Its a fantastic place to go and work out. I am a guy who hasnt been to the gym a lot in my life. I dont feel judged or uncomfortable. When I have a basic question the staff is quite helpful and lastly. The hydromassage chairs. Worth my monthly fee just for those chairs.

This location is clean and the staff is friendly. I enjoy the front lockers which are ideal storage for jacket, keys, etc. Very happy with selecting this gym!

Tried this one out because I was nearby, I usually go to the Bloomington one. I tried this apple valley one because it’s bigger but the staff here is just not very helpful or that friendly, will stick to Bloomington.

Get in, get out. Easiest gym to do that at.

I like being able to go in when ever I want. I go in to help strengthen my muscles after a hip replacement but I see signs in the area where I work out that read no cell phones except in the lobby but still hear people on theyre phones doing business or just chatting and its a little annoying. Wish they would move to the lobby so I can focus on my workout and use the equipment that I need for my workout instead of having to wait until they are done with a phone call and then theyre workout on the equipment that I also need. Wish there was more of the kind of equipment that I use but there is only one, its a sit down elliptical type.

Cant beat working out in such a brand new place. Staff has been so friendly & helpful.
