They hung up on me when I subscribed for a 5-day pass.On Tuesday, September 21 at 11:35 AM I received a phone call from a male employee asking me when Im coming in - I responded that I didnt know because it largely depends on my work schedule. I cant pinpoint exactly when Ill be there.That wasnt good enough - he kept pressing me because apparently they have to activate things. It should just be a simple process. I told him that approach wont work with my schedule and that Ill come in when my schedule allows me to, not when its convenient for him. Aaand he hung up.Definitely dont recommend this gym and I will certainly be taking my business elsewhere.

I signed up at this gym a week ago and just cancelled today. The first day I signed up, I thought I was getting a great deal with how cheap the prices were compared to Lifetime Fitness. However, this gym has some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I never received a tour of where anything was when I first signed up. Was never shown where the locker rooms were. I had asked a couple of times how I find the gyms fitness class schedule, and no one was able to help me because they didnt know. And the schedule was nowhere to be found online. When I brought a guest, there was never anyone working the front desk, so you could easily sneak in anybody without scanning your membership. I saw people coming in without scanning a membership card. No-one is ever around to help. I have read previous reviews of padlocks being cut with bolt cutters by thieves, and multiple stolen items and management would say they arent responsible. What kind of gym doesnt stand by their paying customers who lock up their belongings? They need a more secure locker system. I also see many gym members carrying their belongings with them instead of locking them up. So, I have decided to cancel my membership. When I called to cancel they said I had to come in, so I did.. And I had to wait 20 minutes until the front desk manager would cancel my membership when she was standing around doing nothing and could help me all along. The rif-raff at LA fitness Apple Valley isnt worth the cheap cost. Will be going back to Lifetime Fitness. You get what you pay for!!

After one month of signing up to this club, I cancelled my membership. Trying to cancel my membership has been a nightmare, customer service is horrible. They have hidden fees that they will point out on the contract agreement. They don’t care if you were lied by their sales staff. They will simply say, “well, I am sorry to hear that”. The sales person lied to me and told me otherwise in person. I was told that I was signing a zero month term contract and it would be a pay as you go kind of thing. On purpose, sales staff will turn the screen to them that way you don’t see certain things.Once you have signed that agreement, you will go through a nightmare to cancel it.Be aware that there is a 6 month minimum contract. If you try to cancel within the first 6 months you will be charged a cancellation fee. The staff at the front desk are not properly trained by the franchise owners. Poor management.Sales will tell you that there are no contracts, but they are lying to each one of you. Be aware!

Locker room -3 of my friends locks were cut with bolt cutter and their credit cards and amongst other things stolen. And of course the thief/robber charged up their accounts. When we spoke to the front desk, we were told they are not liable for anything stolen.You wonder what else you can Do besides bring a lock to the gym to lock your stuff so you can workout.If you’re not going to protect your customers then why open a facility?? Mind boggling!Be advised

They did not allow access to the facility and continued to bill me even though they did not hold up their end of the agreement. They continued to charge me for personal training even when their facility was not allowing usage of the sauna, holding classes, and shut down most of the locker rooms and banned usage of the showers. When I tried to cancel they charged me the full price of my personal training and continued to bill me even though I put a stop payment on the account.They refused to communicate or work with me regarding opening the facility. They simply took my money and ignored my calls and emails.Horrible experience.

My first impression is that its clean and quiet.

Honestly this is a good chain to train at. For the price and overall value this hits the spot. Way better value then lifetime plus you cant beat the plate loaded machines. My only gripe Is they have to do a little better job maintaining the cardio machines. Another plus is the crowd that trains here is overall nice and to themselves.

Decent LA location. Been to a lot in the twin cities and this is up there.

I had a good workout. The center was clean and well maintained as it has adapted itself for covid safety.

No consistency. Everything is clean and smooth when ownership is around otherwise management could hardly care about keeping the place and equipment clean or sanitized. Top it off one day your hounded for wearing masks every minute, the next half the gym is working out without them. No consistency with their own rules.

This place is a rip off. I got pressured into doing a hold on membership from their Manager for no charge instead of canceling like I had intended. He told me that I would see one charge on my account but it wouldnt go through. Instead I got charged 3x. Somehow Kelly at the club cant help me get my money back but I was sent to another number to have to sit on hold now for 20 minutes. Must be desperate to rip member off

I do not like this gym. The staff are all rude, from front desk to the management. No one can barely say hello or even look at you. Unprofessional & rude. Also, the men that workout there are very creepy & gross. Will be canceling and changing gyms-but make sure you take time off of work because you can only cancel Mon-Fri during work hours. The only decent thing about this place is their workout classes.

This place is dirty, and the staff all about the hard sell for their budget personal training. Their bathrooms are rarely clean. Someone stole something out of my locker, and the management said they would help, and then they never did anything about it.

This review is a follow-up to the review by Anon A. two days ago. My significant other and I have been looking for a gym to join. A couple of days ago we went to the LA Fitness in Apple Valley. It was close to home for us and had the equipment we wanted and it was reasonably priced. We were set to go back there today to join. Meanwhile, I read Anon As review this morning. Her story is very credible. We were shocked that LA Fitness would keep such an employee, even shifting him from facility to facility. We could not support a gym that failed to protect their member, so today we joined a different gym, not LA Fitness.To Anon A: Thank you for your courage in speaking out. We believe you. We are sorry youve had this frightening experience.

Clean and strong

I really like this gym. Its the closest to my house, so I visit often. The womens dressing room/restroom is fairly clean. The sauna is nice as well. I wish the sauna was for both the men and women, so I could join my guy friends when they come. Though, the hot tub and pool is shared so its not that bad. They remodeled this year, so the place looks very nice. Never had a problem with any of the staff members. Also, during rush hour you still are able to do your normal routine and not have to wait (too long if anything) for a machine.

This gym is always clean. Ive never had an issue with uncleanliness in any part of this gym. for the ladies room Ive never had an issue finding locker space even in the early morning workout times. In addition to that the locker rooms have always been 10 out of 10 in terms of cleanliness and in stock items, like hair dryers or paper towels.

They are not clear on their contracts I honestly would suggest joining a different gym

I been a member last 3years. This club has worst customer service. Their employees are very rude, and unprofessional. I feel sorry for this club they don’t even deserve ⭐️.

TVs used to feature something with substance. Used to be one for national news, one for local news, one on ESPN and one on some entertainment channel. This morning the local news channel was changed to a channel featuring constant infomercials and ESPN was changed to an exercise channel featuring a video so you wouldnt have to go to a gym. Rather than local news I got 45 minutes of Wonder Wand. I dont know about you but I am not going to buy one to remove my facial hair.The worst is that there was absolutely no one having any knowledge of how to change the channel to something of substance. I work out around 6 am. The person at the front desk hasnt a clue and told me the trainers know how to change it. Called to complain at 9 and its still only the front desk guy. I hope this doesnt happen again. Next time well probably have them also replace the news with Mickey Mouse---the management channel!The locker room was laughing all about it...even the Janitor had been asked multiple times to change the channels by 6:50 am when I wrapped up my workout. Funny situation....until it happens again tomorrow. It would be good if it happened then....I could cancel my membership to the Mickey Mouse Club.

Stop your complaining you cry babies and put your little pink headphones on and workout! I have been to a ton of clubs and this is a great one for the price! Yes some of the workers suck but so do some of you complainers. This is a very nice club for what everyone pays. I pay 29.99 and that is a excellent price for what they offer!

Apple valley: (review)Joined LA fitness apple valley before it was even built. The gym is an good value for me, because I play racquetball so it has an ammenity that no cheaper gym has. So its a 4 for me @ Apple Valley. The reason why Apple valley is 4/4 and Burnsville is a 5/5 is because the gym has outgrown its capacity, especially along the back in the free weight area. Theres no where to stand sometimes.

Time for an Acid Wash!Im in the market for a gym in the Apple Valley area and LA Fitness was a likely choice. So I spent $15 to get a day pass so I wouldnt have to deal with Sales folks should I not like the club. My specific reason for visiting was to use the hot tub due to sore muscles and check the joint out.WHAT A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.I have not visited a club that needed such a deep cleaning. Folks the hot tub walls are brown with grime, algae or whatever. I put on my glasses because my skin began to itch and thats when I notice just how filthy the tub is.After the hot tub nightmare, I took it upon myself to inspect the mens locker room and the shower floors have mildew on the grout. This is absolutely disgusting and unsanitary.I was in and out this place in less than 15 minutes.If I hadnt taken off my glasses I would have noticed the filth immediately, turn back around and walked out.

Tried to cancel membership last year, but was encouraged to freeze my account instead. Sadly, JUST realized they were charging my account each month (11 months!). I was told freezing was free (probably as a deterrent when I had intentions of cancelling).Apple Valley LA was NOT helpful when I called with questions. Poor customer service... Nothing I can do. She did alert me we received an email last December notifying us we would be receiving a charge. Of course this is NOT something we saw (as we overlook junk all the time). Because we were notified, they would not refund any charges or entertain other ideas--ex. credit my husbands account as compensation. They will now lose two customers.Have not enjoyed this location: not clean, poor customer service, front desk sits on cell phones, and overall management downfalls.Poor representation compared to other locations I have loved.

Meet with Anthony (Tony) for my complimentary personal training assessment for joining the club, I am happy with my experience with him and the club so far. Anthony was knowledgeable, personable, honest and not pushy. He was up front about what they have, how it works and gave me options to fit my needs. The place is clean and people seem to know one another as they walk around which is nice.

The place is always a mess but worse so on weekends.If you’re really considering LA fitness I’d recommend either Burnsville or the Edina location. Otherwise do yourself the favor of doing a tour on the weekend here. Then you’ll have a legitimate understanding of the mess this place becomes.Front desk staff cares about as much as you could expect from a high schooler making minimum wage with an iPhone in their hand.

Martelus is the coolest dude Ive ever seen working here! He helped me out big time on Thursday night. Such a great environment here I wouldnt want to be a member anywhere else.

Nice place, clean and plenty of cardio equipment (I never had to wait for a machine). Monthly fees are very reasonable. The cancellation process is a bit of a chore (by mail only, with no confirmation that its been received), for that reason I would not get another membership there.

My husband and I have been members for a little over 4 months and have really enjoyed our time here. Quality machines and accommodations for a reasonable price

Facility is nice. I caution you about going to the Monday night Zumba class. The one of the male instructors took his shirt off, was feeling all over his body and pulled his pants down to show the top of his butt on purpose. He would go up and closely grind/sexual dance with ladies and another dude during the workout. Very uncomfortable environment. Proceed with caution!

It may be a little premature but I tried the guest pass to see if I would like to join the club. Being a former Lifetime Fitness member at Lakeville for a long time and also a Snap Fitness member for a long time, I have had my experiences with both sides of the spectrum. I believe LA Fitness is a great gym for the price. I went during the prime hours between 4pm-8pm and was able to get my workout in without many hitches. I needed to tailor my workout a little bit so I could move at a good pace but that is experienced in every gym. It would be nice to have another basketball court so there is one for competitive and one for recreational but with the low monthly price there is nothing that comes close to the quality and amenities that are provided.

Never a problem, always clean enough, machines all work, friendly people at front counter. Variety of people there just working out. Cool!

Came as a guest, left so swole I thought my deltoids were going to burst! The intensity displayed by one of the members motivated me, cause Im not getting out done by a girl, and this chic was on fire!The equipment was actually really nice for a gym 1/3 the cost of LTF.

Horrible experience deal with their blond manager at check in, since I need to have my son to come with me for a short work out. I recommended anyone has a child or children under 18 years and they should go planet fitness and as long as parent has member with them and your child between 14-18 can come with you free of charge. Stay away this poor customer service place.

Utterly unprofessional sales/customer services staff. LA fitness have some weird policies, I paid for 22 workout sessions which they took away because I changed my monthly payment method. If you can avoid sales/customer service, this will be a good option otherwise Anytime Fitness next door is much better. Cleaner and friendly staff that cares.

This location was always my go to for a year 2016-2017. Lots of change in 2017 took place here which was remodelling and new equipment were added. It looks and feels much better everyday

Clean, fairly large space. Bottom floor is weights and machines, top floor is cardio. Sauna and locker rooms are clean (and the sauna is actually hot!) Staff havent been pushy, which is a huge plus.

It is impossible to cancel the membership - they require you to mail in a cancellation request, but when you do they claim that it was never received and continue to bill your credit card hoping that you dont notice. Customer service is a joke when trying to sort this out, they just offer to have you send in another cancellation request, or to drop in to one of their locations to have a manager confirm cancellation. Of course, when you do, the manager is never available to actually cancel the membership for you.I would have re-joined this gym after a few months, but after this experience I will never give them another cent of my money, and you shouldnt either. Find another gym with HONEST business practices.

I have been a member since 2010. Come 5 days a week in the morning hours to join the group fitness. Never had any bad experience. The place is clean. The staff are helpful.

Workout how you like, take the classes you want with no extra charge what else do you need to know

Be warned, they will trick you in the fact they will state one thing, but the contract will state another. My husband was informed he could opt out of personal training at any time... that is not true, it stays on your entire contract and you have to buy your way out. We would of been members for many years, but now we will be leaving the end of our contract and headed to AnyTime. I have also now told my two friends who were about to get a membership to go elsewhere. Never should of come here. Definitely just want your money and will not work with you for solutions.

Like the classes, like the variety, like the price what more could you ask for. Only or maybe a major downfall PT but other than that it is a good gym

Kids Club is awful. Basically a shabby worn out room with no activities or anything that particularly fun for the kids. (Though most of the girls were nice.) The club itself was ok, not really up to our standard of what we consider clean. But trying to cancel a membership has been a COMPLETE nightmare. Having gone 2 times and called once to cancel, it still has not been completed. They keep giving a run around every time. Oh the person who can cancel memberships isnt here, You cant cancel over the phone, you have to go between 9 AM and 5 PM to cancel. You can only cancel in between those times. So after getting off work early and going BEFORE 5PM and they say (after taking 5 minutes to type in a phone number correctly) Oh sorry only an operations manager can cancel your membership, and ours quit so no one can cancel your membership.This whole experience has made us so happy we are going back to Lifetime Fitness, the only club up to our standard of wonderful customer service, cleanliness, and overall experience.

Bars dont allow for any snatch grip, no Oly station. Good for traditional workouts and nice facilities. But if you are a Metcon or HIIT person, I wouldnt go here

I used to go to this location but stopped coming because they kept charging my card a different amount each month. I would call and speak to management, they would claim it was worked out then it would happen again. I cancelled and it took 2 months for them to stop autobilling me and I was never able to get that money back even after trying for months. Frustrating.

So many different classes to choose from but the best part is the pool. Great value for the monthly fee.

Some of the best zumba instructors around are at this gym. Also, seem to have a great crop of trainers and instructors.Unfortunately, the locker rooms can get pretty bad. Run out of toilet paper constantly...

I was there with my daughter last week as we were checking in. A young lady at the front desk was helping me.. she sooo polite all of a sudden her boss comes out of nowhere and straight up told her that she couldn’t do something... im not exactly sure what it was about.. But he was yelling at her. It just wasnt cool... I will stop by to talk to some on top of him today!!

Clean, recently renovated, nice staff that wont bother you, good price. Didnt get five stars because I dont use all of the amenities like the pool, sauna, hot tub, racquet ball courts, or classes in site so I cant speak of those things.

Hands now THE most dysfunctional organization ever. So much turnover in their staff and cancelling your membership is a nightmare of an experience. I cannot believe how impossible this is. Their website also works for everything else BUT cancelling. Their customer service rep was very unprofessional on the phone with me. No integrity whatsoever. Id highly recommend going somewhere else.

I walked into LA Fitness in AV for the first time tonight. I was thinking about switching from Lifetime to LA Fitness so I was meeting up with a buddy who was already there playing basketball. When I told the guy at the front desk that my buddy had a guest pass but was already in the club, he said he could not help me and that I could not come in to find my friend in the gym. He did not offer to let me walk in to find him (which is understandable to an extent....you cant have random people walking around) but if I was in his shoes I would have said I can walk you back there and we can get him then get you checked in....simple solution. Instead, he was very rude and watched me walk out without offering any type of help. I have never written a review for any company (good or bad) but needless to say I wont be switching my membership from Lifetime to LA Fitness.

Be wary of adding a family member. Easy to do but they make it very difficult to remove them. They hope you just give up and keep paying. You have to fill out forms and MAIL them in. Cant even do it online.
