Kevin, Stephen, and Danny did a remarkable job installing a new HVAC system into our attic yesterday. The old unit was fueled by propane and we went with a new electric system, so they not only did the work in a tight, hot space, they coordinated the electric wiring that had to be done. At the end of a long hot day of work, our downstairs unit suddenly went off. Instead of driving away from the completed job they’d just done, they stayed and problem-solved until the dead mouse in the drain system was located and removed. They were cheerful, competent, and we are grateful for their expertise and great work. Thanks to this crew and to B&T for another job well done. Hired B&T due to a/c not working. As figured, we needed to replace one of our units. They performed the work, taking notice that I work from home and therefore made sure to not disturb, as much as possible. We have been B&T customers over the past 30 years. When other companies quoted outrageous prices to “repair issues found during maintenance checks”, B&T came in, did a thorough assessment and found the minor problem requiring a simple inexpensive fix. We recently had a mini split installed on our new 4 season room. The work done by the team was exceptional. They were professional, timely, helpful and cleaned up after to the point of sweep our porch floor. They are the best!

I was charged $172 for no work done. $85 was for the service call and $87 for the tech to step out of his truck and tell me that he cant work on unit because it was located above staircase. I talked to the owner, Aaron, and he refused to honor the $85 service call promotion listed on his website, saying that any service call is $85 plus the hourly labor of the techs. He said if two techs showed up the charge would be $255, even if nothing was done.Ill find another HVAC business where service call price refers to what you pay to have someone come out and assess the situation.

Was looking to have all three zones in my house replaced (just old). I interview and had quotes from several companies and B&T, although not the lowest cost, was low enough but also had a good reputation. We had an old AC unit fail and they came out to replace the AC and furnace with an updated unit. The job was quite difficult given the tight spaces and unusual layout of the attic in our architecturally distinctive home. They were extremely professional and were able to complete the job without unnecessary additional charges beyond a few extra man-hours. Given the unusual nature of our install, keeping us appraised of the progress, problems and solutions was very important. Their communication with clients is excellent.

I switched to using B&T HVAC for service because the company that installed my system and has been servicing it could not resolve an air conditioning problem I have had ever since the house was built. Aaron came out and spent an hour with me at no charge crawling through my attics and going over my entire system. He identified problems with the duct system, and he recommended that I get the load calculation and duct design plan from the original contractor so he could determine the best way to resolve my problem. I did obtain two load calculations from the original contractor and forwarded them to Aaron. Each document was over 70 pages long. Aaron reviewed them and called me within less than an hour to tell me that the documents showed my existing air conditioning unit to be undersized. Instead of trying to sell me a new system he suggested that I first give the other contractor an opportunity to make it right. Aaron did not charge me for any of his time spent on my problem. I found him to be trustworthy, very easy to work with, and more interested in resolving my problem than in selling me something to make money. I will definitely continue to use B&T HVAC for my service needs, and if the original contractor will not make it right I will have B&T HVAC make the appropriate changes needed. Installed HVAC system with a faulty breaker. HVAC system shut off, and are refusing to cover the costs under warranty. Chose to work with a different HVAC company for repairs, due to poor service response time, lack of communication, and unreliability. Also, they don’t wear masks when they show up to your house, and their hours are not reflected accurately in google. They won’t pick up the phone anytime after 5pm or on the weekends, which doesn’t align with 24/7 service if you ask me. I would highly recommend looking somewhere else for quality service for your Heating and air conditioning needs. All the good reviews listed here seem fake to me, considering my horrible experience with this company.

DO NOT USE B&T OF PITTSBORO FOR A HOME INSPECTION!!!STAY AWAY, stay away from the owner, Aaron.I hired B&T 10/2020 to inspect our potential homes HVAC condition, during the inspection period of the sale of the home.The pricing is on par with other companies, but the problem comes with the report you will be handed in the end. This was significantly lacking in detail and information. There were not any pictures or evidence of the areas in description. So for example: our realtor at the house at the time was told by the tech there was a leak in the attic, but in the report there was nothing to describe where, or a picture to help point this area/issue out.The largest issue with this service was the missed safety issues, including but limited to, gas leaks, missing sealants on fittings, and insecure unit mounting. We had another small and local HVAC company come, and we quickly learned how much was missed, and how bad of a service we received.I called the owner and was talked over for many hours- over a couple of calls. Aaron (the owner) emailed this to me, I’m done going back and forth. We were not hired to inspect the gas line which has been your complaint from the beginning. We have you the details of what needed to be address. Could we have put more fluff in it sure but that pointless when the issues listed as they had been. The only reason I am giving you 10% off because you felt the lack of notes was not there and that I could see your viewpoint being you do not understand our side of the business. That does not warrant more than what I have agreed to discount.Looking past the obvious typos, I think you can see the nature of the owner and how he responds to an honest concern and need for a resolution.I originally picked this company to support small businesses and because of the high ratings. I believe this service shows, at a minimum, a huge defect in the company’s quality, integrity, and communication.Please see attached photos: and keep in mind I was told we only needed to correct the slope of a drain in the attic and replace a fan motor. Continuous rain and unexpected storms, we did not expect that they would be in such harsh conditions to install air conditioning for us. They did very good job. Not just satisfied but very grateful. Im glad to have met such a good team. I would definitely recommend B&T to my friends.

The service, installation, and equipment B&T provided for me could not have been better. Giving an estimate, Aaron spent a lot of time discussing my needs and pros and cons of all options. The installation crew was punctual, courteous, considerate, clean, and efficient. They replaced all ductwork in a 3rd-story closed attic during the hottest July on record. They removed and replaced the large heat pump unit through a ceiling trapdoor with 1/8 clearance, without leaving a mark or smudge. Outdoor work and necessary holes through the wall were neat and thoroughly sealed. They made sure everything worked just right and that I knew how to control it. Cost was exactly as estimated. City inspector was impressed. Follow-up has been great, and Im more comfortable with this new system than Ive ever been in this old house.

We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Each unit option was explained and highlighted based on our professed needs and concerns. Once chosen, our system was installed with attentiveness to detail, professionalism, care for our home, and performed as it was promised including reduced electric bills. My wife and I were in need of a replacement unit for our upstairs unit. We weren’t pleased with the company that installed the replacement unit on the first floor. My wife saw them on Facebook and I called and made an appointment. Aaron showed up in work clothes and work truck. Since I owned my own business and actively worked and showed up the same way, on time and offered alternatives I was impressed. We reviewed my needs and his recommendations and I selected them to do the job. The work was done at the scheduled time and the crew was very professional. When the inspector came for the inspection he stated that they went above and beyond by cementing all the ducts instead of just taping them. A short time later my first floor unit went out and I called B&T. They came very quickly and as it turned out the blower motor had burned out. They stated that it was still under warranty and did everything to locate a replacement. They located one and had it installed before says end. I have a service contract with them and they have my business. I recommend them at every opportunity.

Aaron and his team are the absolute best! Our second floor HVAC unit needed replacing in addition to making changes to allow our walk up attic to cool better. Out of all of the companies I spoke to, not only did Aaron have the best (and most cost efficient) plan to fix the cooling issues, but he also helped us come up with a plan to move the heat pump in our attic to give us more storage space -- a huge bonus. This company came recommended to us by an American Standard supplier. This insider recommendation stated this was a very honest reputable company; B&T exceeded our expectations. We have been with them for about 20 years now and have nothing but positive comments for Aaron and his team.We did purchase the annual maintenance agreement which permits twice yearly inspections. Misleading website! My wife was helping a family member out for a broken AC unit. We were doing research to see which company to use. We have paid one company for a quote (and are happy to do so when we know upfront) and another company gave a free consultation. We went to the website and clicked on contact us. Right above the form to fill out, it clearly states schedule your FREE estimate followed by inquires for our contact info. Apparently, by filling out the form, it was a request for service and a corresponding surprise charge at the end of the visit for a diagnosis. I think the confusion was that the form asks how can we help you? and by answering that with listing the symptoms, it was an invitation for a service call. There is a separate link on their website to schedule a service and if you click that, a separate pop up window appears (which we did not do). We feel misled by the website and do not want others to go through the same. The free estimate advertised pertains only to pricing out replacing a unit (which most companies will happily do).

On my home inspection I was alerted that there will be some potential issues, so I was nervous. The team that came out to do the PM quickly identified the problem with coolant in one unit. They explained that the unit was under warranty. Within just 2 days I got a call that the part was in and they would be out the next day to install! Wow, I am a brand new customer, yet I feel like their priority! Day of the visit I got a call from the technician who let me know he was running ahead of schedule and could come when I was ready. B&T came to our home the same day to discuss our options and give us a quote to replace the system with a more energy efficient and dependable system. You are always a bit wary when dealing with a Company for the first time; especially when you are looking at a large expense. I was faced with replacing a 23 year old HVAC unit along with all the duct work under my house. I was immediately put at ease by Aaron with his patience and thoroughness. He answered every question and gave me several options. Still, I wondered how it would go. I could not have been more pleased. His work crew were, to a person, respectful, patience, and nice. They were also very good at what they do and kept me apprised every step of the way. Their clean-up of my yard was great. Still, I wondered if I was really going to see a difference. WOW !! We havent used a space heater or small fan since the installation. And the best part was when I got my Duke power bill this week. Based on experience I was expecting the June bill to be around $180. I dislike leaving negative reviews, but I have to due to the prices, and the fact that my issue isnt permanently fixed. The issue is a simple leak, but Ill need to schedule a return visit to fix a flare fitting properly. If the job was complete, and the price wasnt $340 for 40 minutes of onsite labor and 3 ounces of 410a then Id be 5 stars all day long. For what its worth, the tech was early to the appt. and very nice.

Was very pleased with the work that B&T did on our home. They not only installed the system, but made sure we knew how to work our smart thermostat and connect it to our wifi and phones. They also were prompt, courteous, and cleaned up everything from the install. I would recommend them to any of my friends and family.

After getting NUMEROUS quotes from other HVAC companies B&T was the last quote that we got and the one that we went with. B&T even beat the quote of a direct competitor by a few thousand. When Aaron came to our home he was very professional and knowledgeable. He listened to what we were telling him we wanted and gave several options that would work, while never trying to push us one way or another like some of the other companies did. When the day finally came for install everyone that came were all extremely polite and personable. Our install took longer then expected due to issues found from original builder, but they stuck with it and corrected what needed to be corrected. Once everything was installed and up and running my family was amazed at the difference it made. Our home, even when new, has never heated or cooled as well as it does now. Overall we were more then satisfied with everything from B&T.

Prompt professional assessment of what was needed, a written estimate for several hvac systems, and a written contract. The same prompt professional service when the installation was performed and completed. Technicians were clean and our property was clean when the job was done. Technicians also showed us how to work new thermostat and what to expect from the new unit, and they have followed up to check the a/c (since the unit was installed during the very cold winter). I had a problem with my AC, and contacted a competitor service to evaluate. Their Service folks were very friendly, but, I was told that it would cost $2500 to repair, and I should get my system (from 1998) replaced. Cost for the standard system was $8000. My friends said that I should get a second opinion. Luckily I called B&T to evaluate. They repaired the system for $570. He did not recommend replacing my system. They have won my trust and future business!

After a bad experience with an hvac company out of Chapel Hill some months ago, I am so happy to have found B&T. They were knowledgeable, professional, and reasonably priced.

My AC stop working July 3. The evening of July 9, I decided to purchase a HVAC system from B & T. I was scheduled to have new system installed July 11. My wife received a call July 10 from owner (Aaron Horton) and said his team could come in start the installation of the new HVAC that afternoon. Would finish the next morning. About 2:30 (3) installers arrived and stated to work. A couple hours later 1 of the installer told me that they would complete the job that night. These 3 installers stayed until 7:30 to make sure everything was working and we understood how everything worked. The professionalisms and knowledge of these 3 installers was Outstanding.

I called B&T HVAC yesterday for an appointment to upgrade my HVAC system for a new addition. I got a live person on the phone when I called at 4:00 p.m. They arrived at my home the following morning promptly at 10:00 a.m. when they said they would.Two technicians came in, covered their work boots and began to scope out the work needed to be done for my addition. The technicians were polite, well spoken, and very attentive to my needs as to where they were going to run the new HVAC line for the best results. After discussing this with both myself and my wife we let them do the work.The work was completed on time, in a quality workmanship manor, at a very reasonable price. I am very happy with this company and will use them for my home going forward as well as my rental properties.

Aaron and his team take the time to explain the difference in a quality system and a cheap system that will costs you more in energy and breakdowns. Our energy bill has been slashed by 40% after Aaron installed a quality system. My wife could not believe it when we got our power bill with the new system. Anybody can throw a cheap replacement system on your home but we wanted a quality system with a professional. Aaron will not compromise on cheap parts and his crew are all top notch. Ive tried multiple HVAC companies over the years and B&T is light years ahead of the rest. They have no competition!
