My daughter is very athletic and loves working out and swimming with her dad. So, Im very pleased that they lowered the age for kids to 12. Her dad pays for his membership, and he just added her on for a 15.00 per month buddy pass.
Antioch gym has the best staff from all the other 24’s I’ve been to ( Walnut Creek, Concord, Moraga, Brentwood, Sunnyvale and Los Altos).Montel always greets the members with a warm welcome and keeps the gym organized and well stocked. Coming to the gym early in the morning isn’t fun but Montel’s warm smile makes it so much more pleasant.Mercedes is super friendly and helpful. Andrew keeps all the gym equipments in tip top condition at all times. They all work so well together to make 24 hour fitness Antioch a pleasant experience for the members.Thank you all!
Ckean, front desk persons HELPFUL and courteous...members followed the rules...1* omitted for the short hours...otherwise 5*...been a member for 20+years...
Just Lost A Member For Good Poor Staff Very Rude Young Lady at the desk with a bad attitude Most definitely will take my business somewhere else!!!!!!!!!!!! if I could Give No Star I would!!!
Currently its not too full because the machines are set for social distancing which is awesome! Although some people will pull their mask down to breath freely which is annoying to see however there is plenty of disinfectant and paper towels as well as I have consistently seen the staff wiping machines when folks get off and dont do that. I feel safe which means I will keep going daily until Im back down to my pre-Covid weight 💪🏾!!
Very nice staff. Positive atmosphere !
Nice clean good costumer crevice
5:00 a.m. is the best time to go the person at the front desk in the morning is very helpful
This GYM, they are very dishonest, more than 6 months ago I canceled my subscription, and they still continue to charge me, I call and they just send me from one place to another, be very careful if you are going to enroll in this GYM.
Close enough to get a workout done. Could use more bars and machines.
Great gym, it has everything you need. Just wish it was back to being open 24hrs
My brother and I used to be members here. We cancelled our membership after we moved away last year!! We submitted the form in person and the front desk person said they would take care of it. Well.. jokes on us because we STILL get charged monthly for a membership we never use. Calls to their hotline go unanswered. No one seems to be interested in helping us. Weve disputed it the transactions with the bank. Let us go 24h Fitness! Please respect that we no longer want to be members.
I just wish they would knock the Mall and everything around down to the ground
It was nice and peaceful at Antioch Location. Everybody obeying the rules, and friendly. Good to have during times of Covid-19 Stress!!
Employee provides good service to gym members.
Cant wait for the pool to reopen.
Friendly staff and clean facilities
I loved it, alot of ladies
The new location near the mall is nice and the equipment is up to date. I moved from Los Angeles so it’s amazing coming to the gym in the morning and not having to wait to use the treadmill at 6:00am.
I really enjoy this location. It’s in the old Gottschalks location. It’s about 19 months old (December 2016 grand opening.) The old location was dark inside and broken up over several storefronts as they expanded over the years. This is so much nicer. The downside is the lack of housekeeping by staff. Locker Rooms look like a bomb hit them whenever I’m there. The old location provided towel service which was appreciated. The new Super Sport doesn’t- what’s up with that? How do you upgrade the rankings and take away service? That doesn’t make sense to me. Management is absent.
Ive had a 24 hour fitness membership for about a year and been to at least 4 24 hour fitness facilities and this one is by far the worst. Its a mix of members lack of gym etiquette and staff apathy. Members dont rerack weights and if they do they put them back in the wrong location. Then if you want a certain weight you cant find it and then have to go hunt for it. Weights end up in the weirdest places too. There were some by the pool and even in the locker room. So if you want a certain weight there really is no guarantee youll find it. Staff just doesnt seem to care about the lack of etiquette either. They sit in there front booth and rarely leave it. They just dont seem to have a care in the world about whats going on in the gym and they are just collecting a pay check. Ive tried to do what I can to fix whats wrong by moving weights back to where they belong and organizing things as best I can, but if I tried to fix whats wrong here Id never get to workout. I pay to go here, not to fix it and the people who are paid to fix it dont give a damn. The staff needs to be retrained or fired and replaced with people who give a damn. This gym is a pox on the 24 hour chain.
Decent gym, mostly newer equipment which isnt the best compared to the older hammer strength, or nautilus etc . Hopefully they wont cut hours like they are doing to a lot of the 24s Their 24 hour access is a big selling point ..
Clean and organized
Ive been to a majority of the 24s in SF, East Bay, and a half a dozen outside the area... this one is one of the newer ones and it shows. 24 is not intended to be a luxury gym, but this one has a lap pool, sauna, spa, steam, cycle room, etc; solid amenities to serve the purpose of making your body work. If it was more tidy, made repairs faster (especially the swim suit spinner), and had a towel service itd be a 5 in my book.As far as pricing - you get locked in for life, so while you can get a better deal short-term you can bet itll go up, likely isnt open 24 hours, and with so many locations its pretty nice if youre out in another metro, or want to wait out traffic.Dont be fooled by other bad reviews - you can get your sweat on here. Take a tour and decide for yourself.
Nice gym. would better if the clothes dryers worked.
This gym is a mess. The members of this gym have a problem re racking weights and reading the corresponding places to where they should be placed, although the members cannot always be held accountable for their apathy, the employees are just as lazy. I’ve been coming here for 2 weeks now from other 24 hour fitness gyms, and I’ve seen the same damn coffee cup and scraps of garbage in the exact same place as if it has never been seen nor touched. I’ve done my fair share of cleaning after others so I thought I’d see if the employees actually do something other than BS, alas the debris stays where it was left, that alone shows that the employees don’t seem to give a damn to keep the new gym clean...and people wonder why we cannot have nice things in this world. For people so “motivated” when working out it sure is amazing to see how lazy many people are.
Great place for working out, has all the equipment, a pool, and a gym for hoops
Be sure to pay attention to the times for swim classes if swimming is your intention, and consider using a personal trainer if you need some help. Lots of nice people.
Very clean, nice staff
Nice place to do a work out.
Nice gym but unpleasant staff. They seem more interested in talking to each other than helping or greeting members. I hope management checks this as it seems this is a common theme among the reviews!
If I can give these guys 0 stars of would. Im a member holder and wanted my brother to try the facility. He just moved in the area and the sales person did not even bother helping us. Poor customer service.
Wayyyyyyyy over crowded. And not enough equipment. Literally had to wait constantly to get on a bench or a machine. They need smaller locations instead of one big giant one.
I have been going to 24 hour for a few years. If I came to this club first I would have never joined. It feels like they crammed everything they got from goodwill in the frist hole they found. I think they put this gym in just so people locked in to a contract have to stay locked in. Because if there not a gym in so many miles of your house you can cancel. They put this sorry gym in so people this far out in the East Bay have to stay locked in. Is there no standard quality for 24 hour?
The fitness center is good, but the parking lot is not safe make sure you don’t leave anything valuable in your car they break into it the security is pretty bad! Thanks
Enjoy working out here!
Somerville is absolutely great...equipment new, facility clean, classes daily and a friendly staff...InShape filty, pool never serviced, District Manager Cameron staff jailbirds, lockers broken in daily... cars stoken on a weekly basis...LOUSY PERSONAL TRAINERS...CAMERON hires men that are built and workout as fitness trainers THAT NEVER WORKED OUT AT THE FACILITY, and the training is basis...same workouts FOR ALL CLIENTS...YES. 24 FITNESS IS THE WAY TO GO...also ANYTIME FITNESS BRENTWOOD
Super Sport with no towels?? How can you provide a pool, hot tub, steamroom, and sauna yet somehow neglect to hook us up with a basic towel? You guys must run into problems being that dumb right?I hope you run into problems. You deserve problems. Ill stick to Walnut Creek thanks.
Its super small cardio section is cool but the weights section suck not enough machines.
I have been a member of In-shape, UFC Gym, Anytime Fitness, Fitness Evolution, Worlds Gym, Golds Gym, and Diamond Hills Sports Club. 24 hour fitness somersville is by far the worst gym I have ever been to.The sales reps are unprofessional, the front desk is the place in gym that is cooled and heated, lots of the equipment is worn out and needs to replaced. Locker room floors are always wet due to lack of staff cleaning the locker rooms. Restrooms smell bad and dirty. The worst locker room conditions I have seen since high school. Basketball court is closed after 10 pm because of idiots getting in fights on the court. You can see dirt sitting at the bottom of the pool.I recommend this gym for no one!!!! Spend the extra money and go to a nicer gym.
Everything is old. They dont even want to bother remodeling everything. Join UFC instead. Far better equipment.
This place has moved same location where the old gottschalk used to be. Good place to work out.
I have been a member for 10 yrs and had my share of negatives like when my membership fraudlantly given out by a staff member. Back to now, i recently move to east bay and have been going to the basic before the switch for 2.5 months. Guess what, i am not allow to go to their upgraded one because i havent been going long enough. Now i have to look for another sport club upping my commute to 30 minutes drive. When asked if i can try the super...douch says no....way to treat your customer.
It looks nice. But. There isnt that many machines for cardio. I believe theres like 10 treadmills maybe less. Not just cardio but other machines as well. This super sport is the most disappointing.
As both the other two reviews before me also said, this is not a real super sport tier club. Its big and spacious and comfortable square-footage-wise, but its small in the sense of... let me put it the only way I know how:Im an 8 year member of the old, regular sport level club that was a couple hundred feet away, that is now closed because of this club. The old club was like 3-4x smaller than the new gym, but had at least 2x almost 3x the number of equipment - cardio, weightstack, plateloaded -- everything (with there not even being equivalent machines/exercises for a lot at the new club). Even the shop was downsized by half. You can argue it is acceptable to downsize the equipment if youre getting better stuff, but downsizing so extremely and charging 3x more $? No way, no how. This is not a Super Sport. This is gravely worse than the old Sport. Ive been to one other 24h, Sport also, in a different state years ago on vacation, and it seemed like a Super Sport compared to the old/now closed Sport, yet it was a Sport and this new Super Sport has 2-3x less equipment than the super small Sport it replaced yet is a Super Sport. The new machines might be cool (another reviewer likes the line). Personally, however, I CANNOT use them (physical disability), so now am completely out-in-the-wind entirely for a gym. Objectively, due to the severely limited number, I cannot even fathom how that will work during peak times (on the brightside, Ill never have to deal with it).I can guarantee you, however, having so few machines and no repeats for body parts whatsoever, you are going to be spending 50% of your time there doing nothing but waiting (waiting was a frequent occurrence already with almost all machines having at least 1 repeat, at the old gym)..So... how is the gym 3-4x as big, yet 2-3x smaller in terms of equip? Bigger bball court, bigger pool/wet area, and two gigantic rooms reserved for classes (really? there needs to be 2? and they both have to be so big, and empty and without a use, when there isnt a class?).To summarize: Not a true Super Sport. Horrible decision to replace the old with this - even if it was the same cost. Not worth in any way, any way, any way the membership cost. Personally, the cost is irrelevant to me as my contract has been grandfathered into the new club for its remainder, but Im saying objectively, this gym is NOWHERE worth the cost - go elsewhere.
New facility that is actually maintained. Equipment is new and alot of space to train.
The new 24hour super sport still has the same incompetent workers that were working at the previous 24. The place still puts you in uncomfortable settings and is too clustered together. Ill stick with Fitness Evolution.
This isnt a gym for sensitive gym bunnies! And the current pics of cardio equipment is old...Theres all new stuff.
Very nice to have all of the facility funcional.
My membership expired on Feb 2014, I approached the young man at front desk to help me review options to renew my membership. He explained some options, but since I had more questions, he called the mgr. for assistance. Oh boy, what a jerk this guy was handling the conversation. I cant understand why this guy has a job as manager. 24 Fitness should send this guy for training on customer service. He sure helped me to change my mind right away to join another gym with better service and newer equipment. I will agree with everyone else comments everything is old. Some of the equipment are out of service most of the time.
I agree with the previous reviews I have been a member for a year and the front desk girls are so unprofessional. Most of them are just to flirt with the members. When you need help they are just talking to themselves or texting. Dont come to this gym.
Always open clean, not crowded, offers many classes
Nice place to do workout!!
For a super center it lacks the standard availability of towels for members. Needs improvements
Over crowded. Too many show offs. Employees friendly
There pool is to die for.
I like the new gym
My gym
Playing
The environment is good, there are fewer people, more equipment, adequate parking spaces and orderly management.
I was a victim of racism because of the general manager and his assistants paying for a month and they took me out as if I was giving them something, its not fair
My good
