I’ve been here a couple years. I’ve had a few issues, but they’ve always been taken care of fairly quickly. The location is awesome. I love having my own bathroom. If I get my dream job, I’ll probably stay for another year.
Beautiful floor to ceiling windows with great lighting. Rooms are a bit small for the price, but the location is very safe and convenient. Management is really friendly!
I feel like some of these five star reviews are definitely paid for by them. They just pop up anytime a negative review is left.Apartments look good when you visit, but are low quality once you start living there. Weve had multiple issues since weve lived here, but the management never cares to address them or even really listen. Prices are crazy high for the small apartments, and the amenities dont justify it. Utility prices are unheard of and catch you off guard. We literally kept our heat off in the winter to keep our per person electricity cost low and still somehow we paid almost 100 dollars between each of us.
Loved both working and living here! The apartments are beautiful and SO well lit with floor-to-ceiling windows that really brighten up the place. Staff is so friendly and makes you feel welcome from move-in day with fun community events, clothing drives, and much more!
If you want to waste money, please come here. Otherwise, dont waste your time. Half the time the elevators are broken and today BOTH ELEVATORS were broken. We had to walk up 13 flights of stairs after watching Michigans disappointing loss. Imagine how sad we were! Our refrigerator broke down and we lost hundreds of dollars worth of food. Management said that we would be getting some sort of reimbursement, but we still havent gotten anything. The themed ideas for the place are pretty cool but that is about it.The location is a prime spot but because of COVID we couldnt really enjoy that - not their fault though. It is very expensive for the pain my roommates and I have endured. The themed ideas and location gives this place a 2 and not a 1.
The location is super convenient and the apartments have nice appliances. for the price, i wish maintenance had better communication and promptness with certain things that are emergencies like a leaking toilet or dead smoke alarm considering that we are home 24/7 now that things are online. i also wish that the mask rules were more strictly enforced because seeing people in the gym without masks has detered me from using it
Looking for housing for your kiddo while being an OOS parent can be hard to say the least. Looking at pics on the internet may not show what the complex is really about. After dealing with another high rise complex the year before my expectations were low. Z WEST apartments have been fantastic!!! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The apartment was what we expected and the location is great!
Z west is a terrific place for students because of the location! The staff members are all extremely friendly and helpful and my roommates and I love the view of the stadium logo from our window.
Happy to call Z West my home :) Since I have both worked at and lived in this community, I am blessed to have made such great friends within our staff, and built connections with incoming residents! I have lived at a couple different apartments, and Z West has been my favorite - super convenient location, great views, and good vibes!
Just signed a lease for this fall. My roommates and I are super excited to move in. Andrea was so helpful throughout the application process and answered a million questions for us!
The view is great and its very safe, but its definitely on the pricier side!
Beautiful property with awesome amenities. Conveniently located close to campus!
The apartment is safe with a beautiful view to watch throughout the year. However, it is on the expensive side and the rooms are a little small.
It was an absolute pleasure leasing from the wonderful people in the Z West office - they were kind, courteous, and answered every single one of my questions. I had a couple of special requests and instead of instantly saying no like other real estate companies in Ann Arbor, they tried their best to work with me on everything. Could not have had a better experience. Thank you Randi and Nicole!
Feel too bad about the maintenance. Our waste disposal is broken when we just moved in. It has been three days we filed the work order but no one contacts us. The pipe blocks and the water got everywhere. We try to talk with the leasing office, everytime got the same reply: plz wait patiently. The worker will check one by one.And the internet is slow and always broke.
Great gym and in unit laundry!
I have absolutely enjoyed my experience here at Zaragon West! The staff is lovely - always so friendly and helpful. Their door is always open, and all are welcome to report a problem or just chat. I have lived in a single unit here for two years and have had no problems. Its really convenient to have parking located inside the building. I also LOVE the location! I can see the Big House from my room, and it only takes me 5-9 mins to walk to all my classes. If youre on the fence, you wont regret living here. Its the quietest apartment complex in the city.
Great location. Moe is the best maintenance Man. I had a private bathroom in a great location. My only issue is that sometimes the staff was not the most organized or best at cleaning the apartment before you arrive. Some of the items that i found verified that my room was not deeply cleaned. Other than that, I received great swag at this luxury building.
As a student at the University of Michigan, Zaragon West is an excellent place to live. Its location is unmatched and is a five minute walk to most places on campus. The staff is friendly and maintenance requests are always fulfilled promptly. 10/10 would recommend living here.
Absolutely the best place to live in Ann Arbor! The staff is incredibly friendly and always available. Its impossible to beat the location - situated just two blocks from campus and some of the best food in Ann Arbor. The people here are mostly grad students and young professionals, and everyone is really friendly. The views are also spectacular! Will definitely be signing my lease for next year as soon as possible :)
My daughter lives in the building. I find the building management to be excellent and responsive. When her fridge was not working properly, they came to take care of it right away and when that still did not work, came to replace the fridge. No hassles, no issues, white glove service. They even found a sublet for her. Not a cheap building for sure, but I find it comparable to top notch buildings.
I loved living at Zaragon West! The building is very modern and clean. The front offie is super friendly and helpful. The gym is convenient and well-maintained. The maintenance man is very helpful and very friendly. All the appliances are sleek and new. Perfect location right in downtown! I would recommend Zaragon West to anyone moving to Ann Arbor :)
Ive been living here for almost a year and I had a wonderful time. Everyone here is super nice and offers extra help whenever you need it. Located near lecture halls of U of M and my favorite restaurants, this place is perfect for new students and everyone looking for convenience. Definitely recommend it
Zaragon West was my home for sophomore year of college and it did not let me down! You cannot beat the location, amenities, rooms, and service. I had a great time living here, would highly recommend.
Probably the best value apartment building campus for location + views + quality of living space. On many days the sunset view was breathtaking
Zaragon West is hands-down the best place to live in Ann Arbor! The staff is responsive, flexible, and accommodating. The location is perfect, sitting just a short walk from Central Campus, downtown Ann Arbor, and the great restaurants and shops on State and Liberty streets. The residents are fun and respectful, and study a wide variety of disciplines, which fosters a unique learning environment. Ive loved my time here, and am grateful to have had this experience!
Loved living here. Very cozy and warm feeling in the apartment. Jim, Lindsey and Mo who work downstairs are all extremely kind and helpful, some of the nicest people you will ever meet! They set up lunch in the lobby almost once a week and are always super friendly and willing to help you in anyway possible The location is also probably the best location of any apartment complex on campus!
Great building for graduate students and young professionals in Ann Arbor. The leasing office was extremely helpful and made my life so much easier. Really clean building and very comfortable to live in!
11/10 would recommend this luxurious apartment. Gym is super convenient and Mo is the man.
Highly recommended. Great location . Took care of all the issues that were their at the start. Our son renewed his lease for the coming year .
Lived here for two years and never experienced any problems. Staff is always friendly and attentive, appliances were always fully functional, and staff helped me sublet over the summer. Definitely the best luxury apartment in Ann Arbor
Terrible management. You cant get them to fix literally anything or get back to you with any questions you have. We had a malfunctioning window for a year that would leak water and it was never fixed. The building was made cheaply and improperly causing lots of issues. Huge waste of money to live here, severely overpriced. They do not follow the laws of Ann Arbor when it comes to your LEGALLY given time period to resign, trying to pressure you into resigning before you have to.
Great place, great staff, great workout facility!!Nice updated building with great staff (Hi Lindsey, Jim, and friendly Super). As a parent, this is a great place to have your student stay.
Had a very unpleasant experience with Zaragon West. Im sharing my story so you can see another side of them and their business practices. As a summary, they told me they had a room and would hold it for me, took my $90 (application fee), gave the room to someone else, and then made empty promises to return the money for 6 months but never followed through. The full story: In June 2016, I contacted Zaragon West about available rooms here, and they said there was one available and held for me so the next step for me was to send in an application (and $90) to secure the room. The next day, they gave the room to someone else instead. Im not too upset over this since miscommunications can happen between their team members. The main issue is that since June, they have been saying they will return the $90 but its almost 2017 and we havent received anything. My dad has called multiple times (3-4) to politely ask about it and beenreassured every time he would receive it soon. When my dad visited the building in person, he was told to email the manager who would then forward it to to HQ, but even with 3 emails sent, we never received a reply. I assume were being ignored since we got replies quickly early when I was still interested in living there. The situation and how they are dealing with it is not good in the slightest, so keep that in mind before you do any business with them. The management seems to just ignore any problems that come up instead of dealing with them in a timely manner.
If you go to the University of Michigan, this is the perfect place to live because of the close location to campus, amenities, cosy rooms, and workout gym.
I enjoy living at Zaragon West and have nothing but positive things to say about the staff and the living environment. The building has a great workout facility and the building is safe and secure.
Building itself is great
For the money that this place charges, you should really live at one of the nicer, newer apartments being built now (think Foundry, Arborblu, etc.). The management here is a bit lazy, kids entitled, condition degrading (although Moe the maintenance man himself is awesome), and the cable is terrible. Roommate matching is a lie; there is no such thing here. There was a small fan or something that would go off every 15 seconds above my apartment that drove me crazy, like chinese water torture with no fix. Also there was a group of insane guys on my floor who were audibly violent. However the mini lobby parties and gym were decent.
Ill start with the good. The apartments are beautiful and the restaurants around are really good like babo and tomukun. The gym is good enough for working out and staying in shape. Also you have a full kitchen to cook.So why did I give it one star? The management was terrible and lazy. It took weeks to get someone to repair our television. They leave packages in piles and dont tell you when they arrive because they are too busy checking Facebook. But when my friend in the building owed the office about 40 bucks for losing a key, she was constantly reminded. So if you need something they take their time or dont do it. But if you owe them money, believe me you will be hearing from them quickly.411 lofts and Landmark offer so much more for the same price. I would live there where management is happy to help you.
Ive been living here since the day it opened, so its been nearly 5 years. In 5 years, I have had no issues. I cannot begin to say how amazing ZW is, and the management team is the best youll find. Jim, the property manager, is the man: extremely professional, organized, and gets requests filled asap. Moe the Maintenance Man will fix anything in record time. You cannot beat the location, safety, quiet-ness, and convenience (Diag is minutes away; Neopaplis is on the ground level; three Zipcars and one Maven rental car are 30 seconds away in the adjacent lot; gym has everything one needs, including weights, bench machines, and treadmills). I am very weary of the negative reviews of ZW, especially from raters that have never lived there before. Ive been their longest resident for a reason, and its because Ive been consistently impressed by ZW and their residents-first business approach. It is well worth the investment to live here, and I give ZW my highest recommendation.
Zaragon West is an absolutely phenomenal place to live. I could not have chosen a better place this year.
Lived in Zaragon Place and Zaragon West for my entire college career, and I wouldnt want to have lived anywhere else! Amazing amenities, super friendly management, and some of the nicest apartments in Ann Arbor!
Unprofessional staff. Failure to return security deposit until 12 weeks after date required by law. Continued to lie about check being in the mail.
Best Location to Live in Downtown Ann Arbor !
