I was at my grandsons soccer games this morning and lost my car keys. A YMCA employee named Stew ( didnt catch last name) went out of his way to help me find them. He also told me where to leave my number in case they were turned in. About ten minutes Stew returned with my keys, said he found them hooked on the fence. I feel he went the extra mile as he continued to look on his way to his car. Thank you Stew. I hope you see this. 😊😊😊

Who we gotta bribe to fix the Sauna door? I wanna cook like Im sitting on a space heater in a trailer park. Instead Im sitting on a wooden bench with three strangers at a fall festival.

Their teenage hires are incompetent, both in the kids club and the lifeguards. The child care personnel cant handle a toddler having a bad day, and the lifeguards insist on you being within 3 feet of younger children at all times. So if you have more than one young child, you should reconsider visiting the pool. As well, their online presence is a disaster, using outdated and ineffectual web technology that will punish you if you get a new credit card number. Sports programs are poorly planned and executed. So if you are dont have kids and have one credit card that will never get stolen or experience a fraud incident, you will probably love it. Not friendly for young families like mine.

Good equipment, pretty clean facility, spacious sometimes, except when they decide to occupy both loft areas and shut them off to other users during the busiest times of the day. So if you arent in a boot camp or whatever class that is and choose to come during a busy time there is pretty much zero space to work out! The machines upstairs near the back need spaced out more. I was working out and someone came to the machine next to me and it was uncomfortably close, regardless of the current covid situation. If you encourage 6 ft of space, space out your machines better. Ive requested several times that there be some kind of hooks near the sauna to hang bags/jackets, most locations have them. Requests are ignored and we have to place our stuff on the wet floor. I cant use a locker for my stuff because then my phone will be out of range for my headphones. The red head kid that is a lifeguard on Friday night is incredibly rude. Tried to kick us all out of the sauna early and continued to be rude and argue with a male patron, all this kid was concerned about was leaving early. Im sorry but work your shift, let paying customers have their time and then leave. Customer service is very lost at this location!

The Early Learning Center Director, Jackie Tanner, has no sense of communication or respect for prospective parents. Shell gladly accept your money without explaining how the ELC waitlist works and unless you follow up yourself, you will NEVER hear from her. Please spare yourself the heartache and having to deal with this professional and skip the ELC when searching for childcare. Its worth paying more for peace of mind.

Nice place to work out, clean environment, dropped my membership though as their current setup for paying for your membership is not user friendly, rather it is YMCA friendly. If you are comfortable with direct withdrawal from your account then they are a viable option.

I blew my back out on the hip thrust machine and almost passed out. Shoutout to Shane, Nick, and Cole for saving the day. Great customer service as they wheel chaired me back to the entrance so that my ride could take me home. Cole and Nick can basically bicep curl 180 pounds with ease as they helped me off the ground. I think they need a raise and a custom designed superhero cape for their services. Highly recommend the Andover Y. I don’t recommend damaging your spine.

Its a great ymca to go and workout and being family to hangout and play some ball or swim. With the pandemic this one isnt opening the outside pool. Only have 4 starts for the life guards (they seem to just walk around and talk) I know as adults we should be watching out children but Id like to feel a little bit more safe if it didnt feel like they were just for the money and caring about potentially saving someone life. Other than that I wish the weights were downstairs with the locker rooms but all is well adds a little more of a workout. Love the child care center too, wonderfull people.

Great gym overall except two factors. 1. The gym has a habit of letting the water filter on the fountain go red for days at a time. 2. During peek hours there are no hand towels to be found, how do you expect people to clean the equipment after with nothing to wipe it down with?

It is clean nice pools nice place to workout. The only problem I have with the ymca is you have to be 18 to go into the sauna and steam room. I personally think they should lower the age to 16. I’m sure it’s for liability purposes. I have a proposal to the ymca if they see this to let kids have their parents or parent and them to sign a form that says that they sign away their consent to sue them and it releases the ymca’s liability purposes.

I love the classes. I did one of the boot camp classes and ended up so sore that I couldn’t even straighten my arm for 2 days. It’s funny though, it didn’t feel like I was working super hard during the class; it was just afterwards that I felt sore. Overall pretty good and the YMCA itself is nice and clean

Even though we planned on continuing our membership with the YMCA in Georgia they hit us with the contract and how there is this and that that cost money for canceling and get no money back. The personal trainer kept ignoring my wife. So she stopped going. Now after trying to get our $250 back they tell us they cant give it back even though they failed to deliver a service we paid for. NEVER GO TO PERSONAL TRAINING HERE. GO TO A BETTER GYM WITH BETTER TRAINERS.

The facility is nice and very modern and the staff is friendly. The reason for the 3 is the urinal in the Mens room near the weight room has been broken for a month and it smells like a lake bathroom. Regardless of the time of day the bathroom is always dirty, dried urine, trash on the floors. Not asking too much to clean it once and a while.

Facility is great however sports through the YMCA are a JOKE. My son played baseball through them (machine pitch) & I would not tell any of my friends or family to ever go through them. It was very disorganized. For 1 all practices were on the Ys turf fields which meant they COULD NOT use the machines on the field because they didnt want it to ruin their turf. How are kids going to learn to hit !?Secondly I love the game of baseball and sadly I could not enjoy my own sons games because they do not follow the basic rules!!! For example: the kids get 3 pitches. In a normal league u miss 3 you are out! Well not the Y. You miss 3? Congratulations you get 1 hit off the T, miss that THEN you are out. They also do not even have a catcher!!! Annoying. I wanted my son to learn the game of baseball not pittyball. Waste of money. Glad the season is over! Im signing my kid up for our town league where he can learn the real game & I can also save $30.

After being gone from this Y for the whole school year, I joined Planet Fitness as there is no Y in the town I go to school in, and I must say this Y has gone down hill! Dirty equipment, rude staff, dirty parking lot with trash! I would rather drive into Wichita and use my Planet Fitness membership! Its clean at PF and staff is nice there !

Not a good location for lap swimming. Its not that you cant swim laps here, its just that it requires scheduling with little margin for error and some luck.In addition to the usual scheduled classes in the pool, high schools and teams use it for practice during their season and scuba classes on weekends take up three lanes. If that wasnt bad enough, whenever the adjacent family rec pool is crowded and they dont have enough lifeguards to supervise it, they steal a lifeguard from the lap pool to make up the deficit. If it happens in the middle of your workout and there are no other lifeguards around; too bad, you have to leave. On other occasions when I attempted to lap swim, some of the lanes were being used by some group/organization, even though the schedule the Y published indicated all eight lanes would be available at that time. You can find time windows where you can get your laps in, but it requires precision in scheduling that most people dont have...and you have to be lucky when it comes to avoiding lifeguard staffing issues and other surprises.

Ive been to every ymca in the area. This is by far the best ymca for cleanliness, variety of equipment, and the amount of equipment. Nothing is worse than a gym having only 1 squat rack and 1 flat bench. None of the equipment is in bad shape and if it breaks they are fast at getting it fixed.I have a ymca 5 minutes from me and the Andover YMCA is 15 minutes from me. I always choose the Andover YMCA even if it is a longer drive. The parking here is much easier than other gyms.
