Planet fitness had me sign up with the intention of a 24/7 gym which is why I agreed to pay for a black card and didnt mind the scarcity of employees pre-covid. I wanted to go to the gym at 12, 1 or 2 am without trouble and it was fantastic.Since then.... Im not sure what planet fitness is doing wrong but they never seem to have enough employees, rarely a trainer around to help you out and sadly no scales or body fat calculator machines.I love the comfortable environment but I will say there is little sanitation of machines and if I wasnt vaccinated Id probably be a bit more worried.

This is by FAR the worst planet fitness I have been to ever. Horrible horrible management. The managers name is Emma and she is almost never there. The black card membership never works even when you pay for it and everyone else besides the manager Emma has no authority or idea how to correct any issues or errors that occurs with anything in there. By far the worst and non sanitary experiences of my lie. Get your act together, I am filing complaints with the corporate division.

Literally half of the machines are blocked off, making working out certain muscle groups near impossible. Also poorly lit and theres no AC in this gym. If you have a black card, DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM

Membership cancellation cannot be done by phone. I had to personally go and cancel the membership. After 5 months i noticed that they started charging me again. When i called the customer service, they were super unhelpful and did not take any responsibility. I emailed the customer service and till not did not receive any response. Please be careful and check your account to see if charges creep up. Cancellation does not mean actual cancellation in planet fitness. I am very disappointed by the unprofessional customer service. They did not even check to see if i have visited or if there is any activity in my account to find more details. I have paid more than $100 for something which i dint use and now i have to go there again to cancel the membership.

I went at 5pm on 9/25/21 waited at the front desk for 15 min to go tanning there were no employees at the desk so I had to leave I also drove 10 min each way planet fitness Andover wasted my time if this happens again I want to cancel my membership and be refunded

They teach the children the fundamentals of gymnastics and give them a great advantage of having expert coaches.

Have been there 2 times with friend. Very friendly staff however a bir snaller than usual clubs I go to..

They charged me the yearly fee (39$) after 4 weeks of my registration(on the contract says around 8) even though i told them i want to cancel before that and they told me i had to come to the store to cancel. Very bad customer service

I understand the importance of social distancing but I find it unnecessary for them to close 5-6 treadmills in between the ones that are open... most other planet fitnesses only close 2-3 in between. Everyone is wearing masks and spaced six feet apart so they should really consider opening more cardio equipment.

Nice gym but to many Tvs I go to the gym to workout not watch TV

Approximately a year ago I gave my Credit Card information to one of the attendants at the front desk. I did this to cover the costs of the membership for a friend of mine. I did not sign anything (which is important here) and told them that I only authorize the membership fees No worries. About 8 months go by and I have decided to no longer pay the membership fees for this other individual. I call the General Manager and he tells me no problem, hell remove my card information. The next month comes by and I get charged again. I call back and talk to the General Manager (it is a female this time) and she tells me that she cant remove the card because there is no other payment method to cover that persons account. I told her that was between her and her account holder. She said no it isnt and wouldnt remove my card from being charged. I told her to produce some contract that I entered into and she could not. I then told her to cease charging my card then. For three consecutive months now my card has been charged and I know for a fact that the account holder has not been in the place. I signed no agreement with them and I can tell you if they produce anything they have forged my signature. Its crazy to have to write a poor review for a gym that Ive never even worked out in. Shame on you planet fitness. Your Agreement is with the account holder and not me....RETURN MY MONEY!!!!UPDATE: 03/12/2021. The owner seems to like to respond on here by saying please email and well take care of this and then does absolutely NOTHING TO HELP. It looks good that he/she is responding but the answers is Geez, you really have to handle that with the store. Well, here we are again, MONTHS after this review and a lot has happened. My friend went to Planet Fitness approximately 3 weeks ago and squared the account so that they could start going again. Yet, here we today and I get another notification from my Credit Card Company asking me to update my information with Planet Fitness because they denied a charge that they (Planet Fitness) tried making. Why? Because in order to stop them from charging my card originally I had to cancel my old card. The owner who said theyd resolve it never did a thing; the location in Andover was useless. NOBODY would help. So I had to cancel my credit card. Do you know how much of a pain that is when you have a list of like 10 companies who are doing automatic payments and you have to call them to update your card. All because one company is acting ILLEGALLY by charging a credit card that they have no written or verbal authorization to do so!!! I have no idea how you are still in business and they Attorney Generals office has failed to get you on illegal banking practices. Stop charging my card. And dont respond to this review by asking me to email you...the first time did nothing. I give you full permission to post here what youve done to rectify this as long as you redact my Credit Card numbers, my address, and my last name.

Solid gym. Only downside is no free weight bench/squat rack. Otherwise doing a good job making covid friendly accomodations..

They make sure there is social distances keep everyone safe

This is an amazing full body workout! The instructors take time to show you correct positions and are very informative! Everyone from front desk staff to instructors are super positive and welcoming.

Great staff and great environment to work out in, no matter what skill level you are at. All the trainers are very patient, and want to see you succeed!

Better if you early

Lots of machines and free weights. I never have to wait to use the equipment. Best to go early in the morning to avoid the crowds in the evening. For the most part, there is never a need to push the lunk button. :-) Great place to get in a quick workout or a longer session to meet your fitness needs.

I unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience two seconds of walking into the door. I was excited and eager to sign up but the front desk girl was very rude. She threw paperwork at me not even explaining to me what I needed to fill until I asked her as she rolled her eyes finally explaining to me what she needed filled out. She was too busy playing on her cell phone and talking to her friends to show me around or have someone else show me around or even have the courtesy as a customer service staff member of Planet fitness to point me in the direction of the women’s locker room. I will not be signing up I think this location needs to go back to square one of training their staff on customer service skills and respect to their guests/future guests.

Great clean gym

This location has great service and is incredibly clean. I can’t speak of the showers though as I don’t get ready at this location. They have plenty of free weights- could use additional smaller weights. They have three smith machines which is nice because it is a popular location and gets crowded.

Best PF of the 6 Ive been to. Unfortunately no PFs have free weight benches, only smith machines but other than that they have everything most people need for a good workout. They also have 2 massage chairs, 2 hydro massage beds, several tanning beds, and a red light therapy machine. Last but important, Its always very clean.

No one is with masks over the noses, no paper to clean the equipments, empty bottles and small trash around. Staff got to step up.

I love this place. It opens 24hours /7days! It is clean and the staff are active and friendly. I always feel lonely since I am living here alone but I am happy that I feel not that lonely since I can go to work out at anytime I want, even on holidays. Thanks for the staffs hard work.

Ive been a member for almost 10 months switching from our local overpriced ymca. I tend to go midday to avoid crowds. The staff is very hard working, always friendly, attentive, and never idle. The facility and equipment are very well maintained and really clean. For $10 a month, this is a super value.

Convenient location. The facility is clean and the equipment is well maintained. It not busy in the mornings and it is open 24/7 (except certain holidays).

The trainers are very knowledgeable and have helped me improve my body fitness.I am satisfied.

The equipment is more modern than the closest competitor. However, I was not pleased with the showers. It seems that they have set a timer on the hot water which will surprise you in the middle of rinsing your hair of shampoo. I was just a little bothered by how long it takes for the water to warm up but really annoyed at having the hot water shut off in the middle of my shower. I spoke with the young lady at the desk and she was very pleasant and apologized for the experience. She went on to tell me that she has heard that complaint before, further establishing my theory that the water heater is on a timer. It boggles my mind that the closest competitor is in a less affluent neighborhood and I never experienced this problem. Most people dont use the shower at the gym so it makes no economic sense to try to save money and something that is not affecting your bottom line.

I love Planet Fitness. For 10 bucks a month you cant go wrong. There are plenty of ellipticals & treadmills. Ive always been able to get a machine whatever time I get there. They have a couple of stairmasters, rowing machines, upright & recumbent bikes. Weight equipment & the 30 minute circuit too. They dont offer any type of classes thou.

Good price... can stay all day. I wish they had group workouts.

The Andover PF is one of the best Planet Fitness I have been to, and I have been to many from every state in New England and south to Florida!

At the end of last week I reported that 1 of the 4 upright bikes had NO PEDAL. went to the gym today and it is still broken. when the gym first opened it had 5 upright bikes, now only 4, go figure. a gym this size need more upright bikes. when the gym first opened there made sure there was no talking on cell phones, now it is like being anywhere except a gym. have seen a bit of a dip in this gym compared to when it first opened. cant complain to much for the price I guess but there are other options in town.

Its a focused, guided, full body workout that never becomes easy or boring. All the trainers as well as the staff are friendly and knowledgable.

I joined about 3 months ago and I noticed that it was not that big inside, but there was always equipment available at the time. Now the place is packed!! There is not enough room for all of the members. The WIFI is the worst, it comes and goes many times throughout your workout. When this first happens its not that bad, but after months of this continuing it should be fixed. Big and airy. Good features for a gym.

Even after multiple times of asking for mens locker room and showers to be kept clean, hygienic and provide a safe environment for use, management elected to either ignore it or simply couldnt not get it done. Shower area is routinely allowed to be slimely and slippery from biofilm formation due to lack of overnight cleaning on Friday & Saturday nights. The same debris is present in showers all weekend. The mens bathroom sink counters are again allowed to remain wet and uncleaned on a frequent basis. This persisted for many months and is a management problem that can create safety and health issues for users. management unresponsive to multiple notifications over several months. Further, there is a continual problem with no hot water. Think about...no hot water, multiple times per week. Unacceptable.

Ive been to about 20 different Planet Fitness locations and have been a member for about 4-5 years now. I originally decided to go to PFit because it is cheap, there are many locations that are convenient for me, and they usually have everything that I need. When I walked into this PFit you are first struck with how clean it is (it is new afterall). The staff is nice, everything still looks new, and there are plenty of machines to chose from. They have a good range of dumbbells, everything works, and its your typical PFit environment.However, the more I looked around, I discovered that this gym is missing a few CRUCIAL pieces of equipment.1. A bench press. They have 3 smith machines, while convenient for someone who doesnt have a spotter, arent as effective as a good old bench press.2. There are no barbells. Anywhere. Every other PFit ive been to has at least 1. This PFit has none. You must resort to using the smith machine to do any exercise that requires a barbell, which again is not optimal.3. No E-Z bar. Again, just like the barbell, every PFit ive been to has one of these. You must to resort to using the pre-made bars that go up to only 60 lbs. Unfortunately, this isnt enough for several exercises.While I could hope for a few other pieces of equipment, I was shocked they didnt have the 3 mentioned above. When I asked the staff about getting an EZ bar, I was told we dont do free weights like that.So if you plan on coming to this gym to use the machines and dont have interest in free weights, this is a great gym.If you want to build strength, a better physique, and work out all muscle groups effectively, this isnt the gym for you. You will find yourself acting like Macgyver to fabricate ways to mimic a few exercises. In which case id suggest Tewksbury PF (If you live in the area).Just as their commercials dictate, this is not a gym, its Planet Fitness. This branch (being new) definitely follows that new tagline. This is a place where you will often find the majority of its members going from one piece of cardio equipment to the next in a mundane cycle of endless cardio. Nevertheless, this is my opinion of this gym. Visit and form your own. However, if you agree that this gym should have some of the items I outlined above, please mention it to management. Perhaps they will consider buying a few pieces of equipment if enough of its members ask.
