I’m not one to complain or write reviews but I am compelled to do so after this afternoon. My friend and I had a very unsettling encounter with the property manager at this complex. We were respectfully enjoying the pool (in the 90 degree weather) and the pool table inside the pool house when we were approached. She had made us aware that more clothing in the pool house was permitted which was understandable and we were nothing but compliant about that request. She then proceeded to lecture us on our “unacceptable”bathing suits for their pool area as their are boys around us going through transitional phases. She said that it saves her the headache from all of the complaints she might receive from mothers. First of all, I have had body dysmorphia my entire young life, and just recently started to gain confidence again. She completely triggered that insecurity again. Simply because my friend and I were full figured she felt comfortable enough to address her opinion on our bathing suits. I have never been more uncomfortable in a situation. Woman to woman that is extremely unacceptable and she should be ashamed. I was then approached by a mother with a young son beside us at the pool who overheard and felt insulted as well. She explained that she always walks back and forth in just a bathing suit and has never been addressed by management. For future reference if anyone is looking to rent from this property, just know that this type of behavior from the staff is apparently condoned. As minutes later an email was sent out to residents reiterating the issue which was embarrassing in itself. Thank you and I have higher hopes for the future of this establishment.

I did a tour with Sydney this week and she was amazing! She was informative and vibrant. She made the application process extremely easy and stress free. Thank you Sydney for an amazing first step in my apartment search !

Sydney who works in the leasing office is nothing short of incredible. She has gone above and beyond for me as a tenant and even after when my packages and mail were still being sent to the Slate despite my mail forwarding. She’s not the typical drab employee that’s tough to communicate to because you feel like your bothering them with everything, she is always nice and upbeat and hands down most helpful employee I’ve come across. So much so I plan on moving back!

I love living at The Slate. Property so clean. If it wasn’t for syndney I would never of moved here.

This is a wonderfully located apartment community - right off of 93 and easy access to everything you could possibly need! The grounds are well kept and makes it an enjoyable place to come home to! The units are spacious with fabulous closets and mostly updated finishes! The best part is the staff and management at this location. They are so kind, ready to help, quick to respond, and to meet people’s needs. They are really wonderful!

Ive been living at the Slate for a month so far and have had a great experience. The community is very safe, calm, and located in a great area. Additionally, it was clear from the beginning that Sydney and Dawn from the leasing office really care about current and potential residents; theyre quick to respond to residents questions/concerns and are so cheerful while doing it!

My two young daughters (4 and 7) and I have had a very enjoyable experience living at the Slate. The community is quiet and safe. The building is well constructed so you hear very little noise from the hall, neighbors, and Interstate. Parking has never been a problem regardless of day of week or time of day. The office staff bend over backwards to support residents. Maintenance requests have been consistently handled swiftly, including after hours. Communication regarding and handling of COVID-19 has been exemplary. My girls love the amenities and friendly residents. We couldnt be happier here.

The Slate at Andover is a great place to live.I love the layout and functionality of my apartment home.Others in our community are friendly and respectful of each other’s privacy.As a resident I am pleased that we have a new property management company. Our onsite team is great. The maintenance of our buildings and grounds is much improved and greatly appreciated!

I love living at The Slate! Not only are the apartments gorgeous, but the staff (both the maintenance team & leasing office) are extremely helpful and friendly. The community amenities are well-maintained (pool, gym, grills, outdoor seating/tables). The location is also prime - right on 93 making it an easy commute to the city.

I toured this property with Sydney last week and fell in love!! She made sure all my questions/concerns were answered and she helped me fix a complicated issue with my lease application without making it seem like an inconvenience. Not feeling like just another applicant is very important to me as a potential lessee. The units are beautiful and lots of amenities. Cant wait to become a part of the community at the Slate.

This place is caring and amazing. Great company and amazing workers. I have never had a problem with anyone here. I have been here for 2 years . The office and maintenance are professional, caring and they always keep you updated in everything they do or are gonna be doing. They care a lot about there residents a lot. They always have fun activities for everyone

The slate at Andover apartment is a very greet place to live. Nice people and nice dogs around here. There have a nice club house that you can play pool with friends and family and there have to nice big tv that you can watch. The pool is nice to relax by or take a swim. There have nice grills if you want to grill up some food.

I have been a resident here at the Slate for four years. I ask that you consider other negative reviews with a grain of salt. There will always be those who live life with a glass half-empty mentality, who chose to complain as if entitled to an unrealistic standard of living. The truth of the matter is that this apartment complex, in comparison to most apartments in Massachusetts, could most closely be described as luxury living. The staff members are cordial and accommodating, and the maintenance crew does their best to ensure a clean and comfortable living space for all. Like any apartment living, there are some setbacks that are constantly being considered and improved, and I can testify to this through my experiences living here. If anything, the shortcomings described are due in large part to carelessness on the part of residents, many of whom are the same to complain. In any community, it is just as important that we the residents work together to maintain a clean and comfortable living space, as the staff can only put out so many of our fires at once. While the Slate is by no means perfect, I have enjoyed and continue to enjoy the beautiful grounds, quality amenities, and supportive leasing and maintenance staff. I stayed here with my sister who is currently a tenant. Appears to be a nice place. However, there is a bit of shady activity going on. I went around to each community amenity such as the fire pit and the grills and almost none of them work as they are either damaged or broken.Parking was insane. People were parked on the grass or on the sidewalk. Space runs out around 6pm on a weekday and is impossible to find anything during the weekend.Worst of all, during my stay I noticed some men dumping some weird colored liquids into the parking lot. I asked them what they were doing and none of them appeared to speak english and frantically tried to shoo me away.I did not enjoy my stay and am making sure my sister does not renew her lease here unless these safety issues are addressed.

My family and I love living at the Slate. The new management and maintenance team are making phenomenal improvements to the property. The property is always clean and the pool is heated correctly and kept clean. We love the resident events that the staff put on. The leasing agents are always a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend living here especially if you want to live in a beautiful modern place that happily welcomes children an fur babies.

The current staff is wonderful! I’ve been here for about a year and a half and the most recent staff has made so many wonderful improvements to the buildings, grounds, and community. They are extremely helpful, understanding, and kind.Sydney and Dawn are so personable and sweet, making visits to the office very enjoyable! The gentleman that manage the maintenance and grounds are very friendly, always holding doors for residents, and saying hello! Everyone on staff goes above and beyond and it makes such a difference.

The brown water issues arise from time to time, but it gets fixed very quickly. After the management changed to Fairfield, maintenance has considerably improved and I love living here at the Slate!

Very unprofessional and rude stuff. Found their apartments online, it was mentioned there to call and make an appointment for in person visit/tour. Made an appointment and drove 105 miles to see that freaking apartment building. Our appointment was at 4 o’clock, they were closed. Called on the number mentioned on the listing to let them know and they told us that they are contacting the person in that specific location and let them know that we are here. After 45 minutes and ignorant fat lady came out jumping and said we are not giving any in person tours and visits. We are only doing virtual visits. I told them that I made an appointment online. You should tell all this rubbish before making an appointment. That fat piece of hamburger said in the style RVD from WWE that I am the boss, I’m the manager here. We are not doing any in person visits.

Very pricey,, disorganized, poor service. No parking rules 60% spots are used by guests and Outsiders from other buildings . Management is totally absent, disengaged. All they care about is getting all the appartements rented and collect the tent.. Instead of having a parking policy and enforcing it, they’ll rather try to rent spots in the garage for a fee.Avoid this place by any means.

I really enjoy living here, it has been nothing but great since we moved in. Sydney in the main office has been awesome from the beginning, and still continues to be for everything that we have needed so far. The amenities are always clean and there is a always room at the pool. I would recommend this place to anyone.

The Slate was love at first sight! It is a very friendly community, with the best amenities for dog lovers, singles, couples, and families! The pool is simply amazing. Ive been living here for a little while now, and they are still an excellent community with wonderful luxuries and conveniences.

Very pleased with my apartment experience. The apartment staff is all extremely nice, and very pleasant! If there is ever an emergency, they are always here to help, even after hours. Ive lived here for two and a half years and enjoy it very much. The residents are very nice, and relatively considerate.About a year ago the building and facilities were becoming increasingly run down, and the leasing office was no where to be found, when asked to fix things up. Many of those workers have since left, and have been replaced by a new leasing staff. Since the change occurred, things have drastically improved! The building has been more clean, items have been repaired, and the parking situation has gotten better.The trash system, and dog park has a few flaws, but the leasing office is aware, and is trying to improve them. Overall, its a great place to live!

I have had the pleasure of working with Rebecca and Dawn (from the office), and they were beyond attentive, caring, easy to talk to, just overall excellent people to work with!!! They made this out-of-state transition, absolutely perfect and stress-free!Im in a somewhat unusual situation because I am moving from out of state to the area for a job, but have not even seen the place, and couldnt waste time flying in and out just to see the apartment.Rebecca not only took pictures of one of the actual apartments I was considering, but took the time to take pictures of another apartment which was on a more desirable floor for my needs.Dawn reviewed all the paperwork, sent all the e-docs and gave me all the contacts I needed to get the apartment ready, up and running.They really are exceptional in what they do !!!

My husband and I have been living here going on four years ago. There has been a lot of changes around here but I do have to say that the new company Fairfield residential is right on top of things and very helpful also the new maintenance crew is on top of the trash room and came very efficiently when we had a maintenance request. My husband and I would highly recommend living here.

I was one of the first residents to move into this property a few years ago. While the management has changed my quality of living has not. Maintenance requests are handled in a timely fashion and the new property manager Lacey has been amazing!

My wife and I are very happy here, the building is clean and smells nice. Dawn at the reception has been more than helpful and we really appreciate it.

Rebecca at the leasing office is the BEST. Honest, professional, knowledgeable. I was so impressed by her service! I would highly recommend living here to anyone.

Wonderful place to live. Very peaceful and conveniently located. Nice apartments and amenities. Management is friendly and helpful. My family and I are enjoying our stay.

I lived at the property for two years. It was good when i moved in but over the period of time it wasnt good.The issues i experienced was:1) no parking after 9-10pm. People used to park in the lawn. Ended up taking garage parking but the downside is you are stuck with that spot until your lease is over.2) Water will be brown/yellow randomly with no warning that there is “work” in the area causing it be like that.3) Trash will be every where in the garbage disposal area4) There is an unpleasant smell when you are in the mail room area, probably because of pets not cleaned up after the mess is done.

I stayed at this place for last 2 years.Honestly speaking i enjoyed my first year here. Now when I am at the completion of second year which is my last year I am just counting my days. In past few months there has been lot of occasions when we start getting brownish water from our Tap. Few times i have drank the same water by mistake. When we inquire with maintenance their standard answer is that some pump maintenance work is going on. I am like why cant they send us notification in advance about the scheduled maintenance so that we are prepared and dont end up drinking the brownish water. See the attached image of the water which came from our Tap today.

I called for emergency service. The call center took my information and set up a work order.

If it continues to be a problem, I could purchase a garage spot for $150/month. People park between the handicapped spots, on the grass, or in the private lot of the community next door when the lot is full including visitor spots.

Everyone in the office is very friendly and welcoming everytime I go in,the Community is very clean and beautiful and I don’t see my self leaving anytime soon. The maintenance staff is great and so are the amenities!

One star for the Beautiful apartment!!But not worth everything else, from no parking after 9-10pm, and definitely no parking near you after 4pm. Not sure why there are not enough parking spots available. Water will be brown/yellow randomly with no warning that there is “work” in the area causing it be like that.I experienced a total of 3 different incidents where I had no water, two of those incidents with a NEWBORN home. The last time I found out they needed to replace the water heater...after 5 days of no hot water it was replaced.Then we have the pipe burst a week before Christmas, where our apt was damaged and couldn’t return for a few days and then was told “you can sleep in the unit but there will be people coming in and out early in the am until the evening”. Was out of the apt for two weeks, all I asked was for them to wash the floors after having been so many people in and out of our apartment....I asked bc I was 6 months pregnant... was told yes of course .... never happened.When our lease was ending we decided to do month-to-month, after going IN TO the office to inquire how it worked, my fiancé was told all we had to do was give two weeks notice to them and we could leave whenever. Fast fwd, I did just that, moved out and turned the keys in and was told “ok you’re all set, well bill you for the water and sewerage.” Two weeks later we get a bill asking us to pay for the whole month bc that is the policy. We asked to speak to the representative who my fiancé spoke to and conveniently she’s on maternity leave. We called numerous times and wrote emails only to eventually be ignored. Although management changed (in the office), they handle things so poorly.I could GO ON. Smh for the cost to live there not worth the headaches!

Awesome, 5 stars if it werent for neighbors not tending to their dogs or leaving trash outside the trash chutes.

Very poor management service. Make sure to take a day off if you would like to receive a package for example from Amazon.They show up around 9.30 am and leave I think before 5 pm so if you work an office job you will never get it. Also plan on spending additional $150/month if you ever want to park you car. Fancy USB ports in power outlets do not work. Building opened last year and elevator didnt work the entire winter. Alarms go off if you even boil water for tea.... way to expensive for what you get.

Want a peaceful living experience? Stay away!!! They play outdoor music non-stop, creating a continual noise disruption for everyone! I can hear their awful pool music inside my apartment even with all the doors and windows closed. Ive let the management know that their music is a disruption and it continues to play (even though no one even uses the pool area, so music is totally unnecessary). Such a disappointment.Add that to the fact that these apartments are basically on top of I-93 highway and you have a total lose-lose experience. You can do a lot better for your money in the greater Boston area.

Everything is just about right. Except the management team. The worst management ever seem. They literally change their management 5 times in one year. The new stuff know nothing about community.
