We are very disappointed in Renewal by Andersen of Alaska and the unacceptably poor work and customer service weve so far received for what has been a very expensive - $20,000 - living room windows replacement order. As seen in the pictures attached, the trim work around one of our windows in particular was badly botched. Bent nails stick out of the wood, corners are ridiculously out of line, and the frame is crooked leaving an ugly unfilled space between trim and finished wall. We called and emailed Andersen and, after going through many recordings and waiting for days, finally got through to a customer service agent. The agent arranged for an Andersen inspector to come out and examine the work. It took a few weeks, but the inspector eventually came out and agreed the work needed to be redone. We were told a contractor would be sent out to do the work. That was a month ago. Havent heard a word since. So Ive been calling Andersen this morning, getting lots of recordings and leaving messages, but no help so far. At this point we very much regret falling for the Andersen sales pitch.UPDATE: After this review was written, a phone message left and an email sent, Renewal by Andersen of Alaska responded. Within a couple of days they sent a man out to repair the trim. This was good and provided me an opportunity to point out a second issue: The siding of our home outside the windows had been mangled and touched up with paint by the original crew (see picture below). This happened in at least four places. The original crew never said a word, didnt replace the torn-up siding, but did go to the trouble to visit Lowes and match the paint color. Whether or not Renewal by Andersen comes out to repair these issues, I would not recommend them.FINAL UPDATE: Renewal by Andersen Alaska promptly followed up on the issues mentioned above concerning the siding that had been damaged during their installation of our windows. A crew came out two days ago, replacing the siding, re-applying the caulking around the windows (the original caulking job was rough), and carefully matching the paint on the new siding to the existing color of the house. The job was a 100 percent improvement.My final thought is that our experience was likely an aberration. I believe a young, inexperienced crew was assigned the initial job. I know that in-company meetings and discussions have since been held as a result of our experience to ensure better quality work and customer service. In the end, Andersen of Alaska followed up and the work inside and out is much improved.

1. Our Design Consultant Amanda was extremely knowledgeable about window and door construction and design. Her advice was tasteful, helpful and invaluable. She did not use pressure on my wife and I in order to make a sale. She was pleasant and she was focused on what my wife and I needed and wanted.2. Our Project Technician Derek was friendly, professional and focused. He was exacting in his measurements and answered all my questions thoroughly.3. Our installers Bob, Charles, Aaron, Austin and Manny were very polite and professional and despite sub-zero temperatures (this is Alaska) exhibited real craftsmanship in their work. The result is beautiful windows, a sliding door and a Bay window that my wife, myself and especially our two cats have been enjoying to no end.Upon entry into my home the Renewal by Andersen Alaska team rolled out drop cloths from the front door to each work location. Ceiling to floor plastic barriers were erected at every window and door site where work was to be done. At the end of the work day my floors were thoroughly vacuumed and wiped clean.4. Besides the beauty of our aforementioned windows, sliding door and bay window, there is an immediate and profound difference in how much warmer our house is. We are completely happy with the entire process and would recommend Renewal by Andersen Alaska without any reservations5. Every Renewal by Andersen Alaska team wore masks unapologetically and were respectful of my physical safety in this current pandemic. Thank you.My wife and I would like to thank the entire Renewal by Andersen Alaska team for their professionalism and beautiful craftsmanship.

Daniel Perez has shown his dedication and expertise on what he does. He showed accuracy in measuring the windows that will be installed. For the short period of time that I spent watching him and chatting with him gave me an impression that he is knowledgeable and a very valuable asset to the company. He was respectful too and was able to answer all my questions. He is an employee for keeps.

Salesman Nick was quite knowledgeable about the product and company history, personable and helpful. He answered all questions to my satisfaction and gave good advice regarding window maintenance. Follow up scheduler Derek was very helpful as well and made custom changes to the installation plan to get a better result. He also answered all my questions.

I cant say enough good things about the people who work for Anderson. Derrick measured for my doors and is absolutely wonderful to work with-professional, detailed oriented, and wanting to get things right and this is a challenge in older log homes which I have. When he came, he checked on the windows which he had also measured for just to make sure that they were working well. It is his dedication to quality and customer service that makes folks keep coming back. You are very lucky to have him working for you!

Renewal replaced all of our windows and our patio door and we couldnt be happier with the quality of work, the professionalism of the entire team, and the windows! Bobby and Austin were our main installers and they had help from Mike D and his crew, and Jacob T and his crew to ensure our project was completed in the promised time span. All of the people from Renewal who came by our house were respectful of our home and our health. They all wore masks, put drop cloths on the floors, and cleaned as they were going. So nice to not need to clean up behind them all week. Even our driveway was covered to keep their work areas clean! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to give their house an upgrade. Ours sure got a glow-up!

Bob R. and Aaron installed new bedroom windows for us, and they were fantastic—the gentleman, the windows, and the installation all exceeded our expectations. We plan to replace the rest of our windows with Renewal by Anderson, and we hope that Bob and Aaron will be back again!

Everyone I worked with was helpful, efficient, and professional. High quality products and (so far) has finished in less time than they expected. I would recomend to anyone.

When we purchased our house it came with windows from these guys with a trasferable warrenty. They did warrenty work and replaced some windows. That next winter it was extremely cold in my bedroom. Called and they had someone come out and then that person randomly doesnt work there and nothing happened. Called again in Feb and they finally came out with a manager and told me that the seals were bad and that my sliding door on my porch needed a new seal and a new lock... I wait 2 months... emailed the guy that gave me this info and he didnt respond. Called earlier this week and they magically had my stuff and would be today. Thursday july15,2021.... the guy showed up with a thing of super glue to glue my seals together at the corners (didnt work) and the messed with the lock until he was satisfied it worked. The worker probably had no idea that he was suppose to have NEW seals and a NEW lock like the lady that called me Tuesday to tell me they would be here Thursday. Completely dissatisfied with the customer service and the lack of quality. Next new windows WILL NOT COME FROM THIS COMPANY. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. HASSLE ALL THE WAY. There should NOT be a gap like that on the seal.

I requested Renewal by Anderson of Alaska to install a picture window for a circa 1940s log house. Quote process was professional and thorough and Mel Ramos did an excellent job with the proposal and setting up the subsequent filed measurements for window fabrication.Brian Harris did the field measurements and proceeded to do an exacting evaluation and explanation of the process. The age of the log house made the project interesting. Brians experience with remodels in Alaska allowed him to address certain issues more common to older home. Brian also did a professional and efficient job.

Steve Tuttle, the Installation Manager, stopped by this morning to measure all the windows and verify the window choices we made, earlier. Steve arrived exactly on time and well prepared to do a thorough job of measuring for installation. Steve is professional in both attitude and action. Robert Johnson was scheduled to perform a technical measure for our new windows. He arrived at the scheduled time. He briefed us what he would be doing, asked if we had any questions and then went on about his work. When he was done he briefed us on what he had done, informed us who our liaison would be, and about how long our wait time would be.Robert was very thorough and did a very god job.

Brian was very personable and professional. He explained the measurements and the window installation process. I didnt have any questions because he did a great job explaining everything in terms that I could understand!

Overpriced. Quick to call for a sale, but took months to respond to a question. Finally gave up on that.

Our first concern came before the doors when we were told that the warranty could transfer to three owners, as a selling point, but that proved to not be correct.The doors we received came damaged. One had lost the weather strip which was then glued back on. The touch-up used on the scratched paint does not match so it looks blotchy and stands out terribly. We had to ask that the transition pieces extend to the trim to cover the holes in the flooring. The latching required a great deal of readjusting to lock without difficulty in all 4 doors. Four months later & we still have difficulty - the fire door deadbolt won’t engage and the self closing hinges do not fully close the door.Rolland, the installer, was great about listening and doing what he could. The assistant he had was very green and that showed with the abundant smearing of caulk - he’ll probably be good some day but not for us. We simply cannot equate the outrageous price with the installed product, it just looks unprofessional. We expected well hung, clean, and nicely functioning doors but are left with something we could have purchased and installed for much less.4 months after install and we still don’t have the repairs done that they said they would do. Supposedly they are sending a new slab for the worst looking door, getting new trim, and new touch-up paint.

Renewal by Andersen is going replace an exterior door and my windows. They have been very professional and helpful so far. Nothing installed yet, they are writing up the proposed work and submitting it to my HOA for approval.

We started doing business with Renewal by Anderson in 2014. After a few changes of management and service the year 2020 was by far our best experience with the company. We met many of the installers, repairers, and finish professionals. Shout out to Robert Bob, install manager, who completed the final touches on our home before the holidays. He was professional, courteous, wore a mask the entire time, and was just good company while doing follow-up work. They made it right and we appreciate the cooperation.

***3 start to prevent flagging***Few years of dealing with Renewal has been horrible. A $5k door** looks like a $300 special from the big box stores. No I didnt save any energy, tax breaks for many of these *savings* have been gotten rid of etc. Mis measured door frames, constantly creaking & stressed hinges, didnt close right (since install), door sweeps need to be replaced every year for some reason. Door hardware constantly freezes / binds up. Handful of well fix it visits have yet to address any issue for more than a few days. Lifetime warranty isnt worth the lack of security & being trapped when a door doesnt function.

It was amazing getting started on my own house with the first phase. The new black window with picture frame trim and real oak interior looks amazing. The quality is the absolute best available and the attention to detail from measuring (Daniel) and installing (Mike, Ben, George and AJ) resulted in the best possible look for my house. Thanks guys. They even cleaned up and left it cleaner than when they got here.

I highly recommend Renewal by Andersen of Alaska. I had an excellent installation team including Jacob, Nick & Dan who replaced five windows in my house. Very professional. Great attention to detail. Windows look better than originals. I appreciate that they took the time to make sure everything was perfect. Though cost was higher than other contractors, I think it was well worth it and will definitely use again.

Kylee from Renewal by Andersen’s team was absolutely great! She was incredibly knowledgable, respectful, and professional! Her enthusiasm and energy was delightful! She was able to answer all of our questions with ease. I would definitely recommend her and this company!!

5 Stars - We couldnt be happier with our installers: Tyrone Davis and Jacob Town. Both were professional, wore masks, kept a clean work area, and listened to our concerns about keeping the house clean and warm when possible. Jacob even put up extra plastic for heat retention and fixed our front door jam. We have been very happy with everyone who has been a part of the process from our sales rep to the next guy who confirmed the windows and measurements to the office staff. It was worth the extra money. Gave 4 stars due to this which I think is a corporate issue, not anything to do with our installers or other reps - Our only constructive feedback would be to either add a service of staining the window trim to match the interior or allow us to receive the wood earlier so we could do it prior to installation. The windows are beautiful though, clean, and keep our house warm.

What an amazing job! Our home looks transformed. The quality of work is absolutely stunning. The finance options, window selection, quality, workmanship, was more than expected. The work of Jacob T. and Nick B was done with complete care and respect for our home. They left our home cleaner than when they arrived. Every step of the process from the consultation to the final installation was a smooth process. Madisyn Brown took her time explaining everything about the product and answered all our questions. She presented our options in a no-pressure way despite spending over an hour with us. Her attitude was positive throughout and her professionalism was on point. We received courtesy calls to remind us of the installation from the company and each day from the installer – Donovan Komakhuk. He and his partner, Cody Christianson, worked quickly to get our windows installed in a timely manner. They were gracious with timing, knowing that we had a 2-year-old in the home – they worked around her sleeping so they did not wake her in the AM. They took time to explain each step of the installation and the functioning of each window. They had us review each piece of the process before moving on to the next. Donovan and Cody’s work was exceptional and they exhibited a level of courtesy and professionalism you may not often find with a national company.As for the quality of the windows… apparently, they are so good even nature can’t tell. A bird flew into one of the new windows shortly after installation. I do feel sorry for the bird, but the windows look amazing!

I recently decided against being a repeat customer for Renewal by Andersen. The first experience in 2017 was better than ok; the only part that offended me was the “hard sell”. I replaced a sliding glass door, two huge picture windows, and a kitchen window. The product, installation, and financing were all satisfying. ...Recently I received a flyer offering 0% financing for 4 years and a chunk off each window/door. I have another slider and a few more windows to replace. When the sales rep came out to my home, I was informed I was getting a discounted rate, and I would have to pay more to get the deal advertised on the flyer. How does that happen ever?! This is a high-priced commodity with an enormous marketing department. Renewal by Andersen uses a local number for a “parent” office in another state. ...I will be seeking an honest & local business.

I had two windows and a patio door installed by Renewal by Anderson of Alaska, and to be honest, it was the one of the easiest processes. From the consultation, to the manager showing up prior to installation to ensure everything was up to par, and finally the installation crew- it could not have been a more seamless process. Jake F. and his team, Cory and Dan, were extremely professional, meticulous, and personable. They truly went above and beyond and ensured that customer satisfaction was their top priority. This company has my highest regards and we will definitely be utilizing them for our next project.

We needed new windows and a huge door wall (aka sliding door; our wonderful and hilarious sales guy Jeffrey got a kick out of that midwest term) and we were very apprehensive since the original windows on our home werent installed properly - not insulated, not square, not even framed right. On installation day, it was quickly obvious that Bobby and Jake F have lots of experience with these kinds of things! They were professional, efficient, hard working craftsmen - it was as much art as it was technical knowledge to make our new windows look even better than hoped. We are usually DIYers, but I am so glad we had Renewal take on this one. It was totally worth it. They made it look easy but Ive installed windows before and I know it isnt! In addition, they were great with our dog. We didnt want to lock her up for 2 straight days, thinking she would bother them, but they treated her like family and thats awesome. Thank you so much. Its already made a huge difference in the heat retention of our home, and we arent burning nearly as much firewood! The one hiccup in this whole process was scheduling the appt for taking measurements - husband took off work but the scheduling dept canceled our appointment he made weeks out without asking - TWICE. We kept speaking to different schedulers and it was frustrating getting time off work weeks in advance for them to just cancel without explanation, which pushed our delivery and installation back significantly (was going to be late July; ended up being late Sept). For the cost of these windows, I think this area of the process needs to improve. But everybody we met in person was fantastic and I highly recommend them!

This is our second encounter with RBA for installation. As expected after our previous experience, the employees were courteous & kind to myself and children. The installers, Jacob T. & Preston H. were conscientious of my home and took great care in protecting our flooring and cleaning up all debris & dust created during the installation. As the homeowner, I was kept informed and up to date on progress, as well as any delays that arose and why. We are very satisfied with RBA and have plans to engage their services again as we continue to replace our old windows & doors.

We had a front window installed on our house, the process was very easy and understandable, they explained the whole thing before arriving. They call ahead of time to make sure all appointments are still confirmed. On install day, the installers called before arrival and were early to the appointment. They finished the job in a very timely manner and made sure the install was perfect and that I understood how to use my new window. The installers were polite and professional. I’d use this company again for sure.

They might do good work, I wouldnt know. But I will never, ever use a business that relies on spam marketing to get customers. I contacted them about a free estimate almost a year ago. They are still spamming my phone to this day, calling from a different number every time so I cant block them, even when Ive told them to stop calling. Being a spammer is a terrible strategy for getting customers, and they will never receive my business as a result.

Im very happy with my new windows. From Amandas initial meeting with me to assess my windows and understand why Andersen windows are superior, I felt confident that my purchase would add value to my home, energy efficiency, and aesthetics of my living space. The technician was also very efficient. The installers Bobbie and Josh (? name) were very professional and careful in their work. The removal process went smoothly and the finished product with trim is immaculate. They did an excellent job of matching trim pieces to make each window very pleasing to look at (and through). thank you all for making this process easy to manage, schedule, and enjoy. Everyone was on time, efficient, and very professional and friendly to work with.

I had a sliding door installed in July by Bobby R and Jake F. They were very professional, informative, and did a wonderful job on the installation. When they were finished they cleaned up and left the place looking like nothing had happened except for the beautiful door. If I purchase windows in the future I will ask that they do the installation. They were pleasant and easy to talk to. I love my new door.

I got my new windows in January2020, the installation crew, Mike D and Jake H, were great. They were knowledgeable, competent, were really good in communicating with me (I had a lot of questions), very respectful and did great with my large and loud dogs. I have aquariums next to one window and they took that into consideration with trying to keep the hole closed as much as possible when switching windows and covering the tanks. I would absolutely recommend them. My windows look great, and hold the heat so much better than my old windows.The sales guy was a little off on his info, like the screens have a 10 year warrenty, whereas its really only 90 days, but the product and installation team made up for that.

Had three bedroom window replaced. 31 May 19The crew was excellent, Robert and Rolland did an outstanding job. Showed up on time, laid drop clothes around the house and replaced the windows within the time they said they would have it done. I would highly recommend Andersen for anyone to use, and I would recommend their crew on replacing your windows.

Window # 104 was reordered as the result of a tech error prior to the onset of the installation. I appreciate the manner that the error was reported to me and my spouseby Daniel. A resolution was promptly offered and a JIP was initiated to complete the work when window #104 arrives. The two installation techs (Josh T. and James M.) who completed the installation of the correct windows that we received did the work and answered questions in a professional and clear manner.

They are professional and keep in contact with you during the whole installation process. Austin L. & Josh T. did an amazing job. If your are getting windows put in by our Alaska contractors ask for these two gentlemen. We can already feel the difference in our home, put in just in time before our cold fall & early winter starts.

Scheduled appointment for estimate, never showed up, called corp and was hung up on no special in area. This was on a Saturday, they called on Monday reporting if we want to schedule. They reported we didnt acknowledge Email, did not even try to call to confirm. Must be to large of company to call their potential customer, or they missed appointment and use as an excuse.

I had my windows replaced last week. I found Anderson’s to be responsive and helpful. The sales rep, Kyle was easy to work with. The installers Jake, Jake, and Jeffery were professional, hard working, and took pride in their job.

Installed a door also. Im not happy...my kitchen window lock keeps falling off. they came out and put it back on once before. and it fell off again.i have a hard time locking my windows. and they still condensate alot.

Matt and Patrick are amazing installers! I loved Matts attention to detail and watching him jog about blew me away. Patrick worked non-stop for hours and wasnt afraid to chat with you while he worked. The doors and windows are perfect.

Great work by the two crews that came out and installed 12 windows and 2 sliding doors at my duplex, Jul 17-19. Wayne M. and Bobby are excellent team leaders, explained everything happening and answered my many questions. The crews cleaned up everyday and did not break any of the old window when they removed them. They worked hard, I saw how challenging the old windows were to remove. Kudos to Bobby, Jake F., Tracy D., Wayne M., Mike and Jeff. Next set of windows I need replaced I would like Wayne and Bobby and their crews to do it again.

From start to finish we had an amazing experience with Renewal by Anderson. We had 12 windows replaced with 4 large picture windows as well as 4 bedroom windows brought up to egress code. The communication was great. Kyle kept me up to date with the progress of our windows as well as co-ordinating the scheduling and such. The window installation led by Robert was seamless. His crew of Dustin, Tracy, and Matt showed up on time, well prepared for a total of 6 days. I was made aware of any unexpected issues along the way and the crew was very knowledgeable in what needed to be done to make it right. The house was left clean each evening and when the project wrapped up there was no evidence of all that was done besides beautiful, energy efficient windows. Overall, I couldnt be happier with my experience and would highly recommend Renewal by Anderson of Alaska.

Anita is also very knowledgeable of different types of windows and history or windows. She has a great demonstration, when she comes by to show you the difference between window types.

Bobby and Jake did a great job installing our new windows. I have never had the house and yard look so clean after having work done; I normally dread cleaning up after contractor mess but these guys were meticulous and left our home as they found it - except with great new windows and screens!

I havent even had my estimate yet. I made the appointment when someone was going door to door, and they no-showed my appointment. When they called a few days later to reschedule they said the appointment was not confirmed so they didnt show up. Well... I made the appointment... I calendared it... I took off work to be home. I guess I didnt get the memo it had to be confirmed a second time. So I rescheduled it. I get a text a few days before asking ME to call THEM do not reply to this text. Again... I made the appointment, now you want me to call YOU? Terrible terrible setup. Makes me not want to follow through with this company. If you must confirm, call the customer or allow them to text you back. People are busy... make it easy for them!

They were careful and conscientious about keeping their work site neat and clean. They were friendly and polite to me, and were willing to answer questions. Andersen windows are not inexpensive, but what an amazing difference they will make in your home! I can’t stop looking out of these windows.

They arrived on time each day, answered any questions we had, and most importantly did any outstanding job. Renewal by Andersen replaced my upstairs windows and did a great job!. The crew that came to replace my windows was very professional, courteous and respectful in my home. I had a problem with one of the windows and they came back to see and let me know what was causing the draft in my kitchen window. Had all the windows in our house replaced by Renewal by Anderson of Alaska this past week. My wife and I are quite impressed with windows. They function as advertised and look even better in person than they do in the brochures.Rob, Jordan, and Mike D. did an outstanding job on the installation and were friendly and very easy to work with the four days they were in our home doing the installations. We can hardly tell they have screens in the windows, they are so fine there is very little if any distortion when you look out the windows.We highly recommend Renewal by Anderson of Alaska if you need new windows installed in your home or business.

The installation crew -- Paul, Shelton, Spencer, Jeff, Joshua and Mike -- was friendly, professional, hard-working and personable. We felt comfortable with them working in our house, and they communicated well. Next time we need windows replaced well certainly use Renewal by Andersen of Alaska.

Wayne, Tracy, and Rolo did an excellent job installing our windows. They arrived at our home in a timely matter as they said they would. Wayne was very knowledgable in what he was doing, and very patient at explaining what we should know about the windows. They were also very courteous and professional and I would highly recommend them.

Bought 3 windows with installation from Andersen, the whole process has been very smooth, the only complaint I would register is that the windows seemed to take a long time to come in...we ordered in February and weren’t able to schedule installation until April. But living up Alaska, we can’t be too demanding on the logistics end.Installation was today, Paul and Justin really did exceptional work. They worked steadily throughout the day, took no breaks that I saw, and were very thoughtful/respectful of our home. Particularly impressive was they even helped us out with some other home improvement projects we had going in conjunction with the windows installation, taking a few extra minutes to cut some trim for me that I wouldn’t have been able to do without their help. Hands down awesome experience, with fantastic windows to boot. Will definitely recommend to others
