I have used this location for tire change overs and oil changes. They are exceptionally professional, even when busy and under pressure. They completed my car ahead of schedule. They send a nice link to your phone to show you inspection report along with photos. As for the schedule, they were amazing to work with, and willingly squeezed me in even though I didnt have an appointment.

Needed vehicle safety and fitness check. Shop performed necessary functions quickly and efficiently. Charged a reasonable rate and I was on my way.

I delivered my Dads truck to have a few concerns looked at and an oil change. I was very impressed with the courtesy diagnostic testing done that was sent via text inclusive of photos and indicating which items were critical, maintenance/keep an eye on, and good. The communication was great. Also, I requested that the vehicle be done by 2pm the following day and received a call at 9am they were finished. A friend suggested this location and I was not disappointed!!

They’ve done previous car maintenance for us, oil change etc. it’s been fine nothing to complain about. Price may be a little high, but since they are open on the weekends I understand the price of convenience. However today we had an appointment at 9 am for an oil change . My bf had the car there at 9am walked to a big box store to shop and wait for it to be done. He showed back up at 10:30 and found out it hadn’t even been touched. I understand a business being busy, but that’s why you make an appointment. I was really disappointed. He said they told him our car was next, but honestly not acceptable, we’ll just go some where else.

Needed a tire change and they broke my hubcap. Two stars because my tires did get changed out, I just didnt need my stock hubcap to be broken.

Spent $4,600 for tires, brakes, rotors, shocks, etc. last October. Immediately put it in storage for the winter. First drive down the highway this summer it felt like the front end was going to shake off! Took it back and the tires needed balancing! Obviously, it wasnt done. Drives great now. However, I didnt appreciate the grease stains on the floor mat and on the carpet on the inside of the drivers door where someone mustve pushed it several times with their greasy shoes! What happened to the paper mats and shoe coverings to keep the interior protected? Do you offer free grease removal?

The service was excellent, repairs were done in a timely manner. On another note they need to up grade their heating vent or get double pane windows.

My starter went out and I called them. They told me what the best towing company was. They were very helpful in giving me the information I needed to get my car fixed. Within a couple hours they confirmed what was wrong and the car was ready to pick up the next morning. They did what they promised and communicated with me. I really appreciated the excellent customer service I received.

Midas was great I’m super happy n thankful we brought our car in for repair work on a gasket change and they found a leak in a fuel line that we didn’t know of an would of caught fire or accident if we kept riding it on long drives. A big thank you to them they fixed fuel line and a tune up. Our car drives much smoother that a lot has been fixed n restored new parts. Thank you Midas.

Came in for a rattle in my muffler. A connection was loose. They fixed it right up! Great work. Great service!

The worst. My car is worse off than before. I spoke with two ppl and they quoted me for without the tires which was an added $800 for 2 new tires. I said no thanks but they replaced the tires anyway. Then when I arrived the car was not finished. They had to remove the new tires and my car wash trashed inside. Shoe print on the seat headrest. Which I have no clue how they managed to do. The car sounds worse than when I dropped it off. My car is not accelerating properly now. When it has never had this issue. I also had to wait 1hr for them after being told it would be 15 minutes. I wish I could give 0 stars. But at least the front desk ppl have manners. Is all I can say good about this place. I was told to bring it in the morning so. To be continued.......

Fred is an excellent Midas rep and I always go to the northern lights location so my car can be serviced by him and his crew. Fair, reliable, and honest.

They sent me a nifty little rundown of the inspection they did on my Moms car, pictures & everything, that was cool! I was expecting to wait about 30-45 minutes, but it took just over 2 hours, I was getting antsy, after about an hour & a half, but after I received the inspection link I wasnt as impatient & for $55.99 (I got high mileage oil) it was a good deal, I think. I would recommend this place to friends. :)

These guys were awesome, very fast to respond to our emergency when we had our vehicle towed there. Unfortunately, we had to have Ford do the work due to a warranty. Midas told me they’d have it ready in 1 day. Going on a week at Ford and just got a diagnosis from them, likely a 3 week repair. Ridiculous! I’d use these guys all day long!! Good value too compared to Kendall Ford costs!

It took me a long time to find a trusty mechanic shop in Anchorage. Nathan and the rest of the staff always take time to listen and fix my vehicle in a timely manner. Most if not all of the work has a warranty. They are reasonably priced and what is really impressive is I almost always get my vehicle back the same day. I am very happy to have finally made Midas my shop of choice after dealing with other mechanics taking days to fix small problems, overcharging, and have rude people working phones and the counter. They have a whole team and many bay doors to get your car or truck in and out back on the road. As a lifelong Alaskan they have my families buisness whenever I need to bring in the rig. Thanks Midas I appreciate you always going above and beyond.

They got 4 stars because my appointment was at 11:30 .my car was not even pulled into the lot till 12:45pm. Then it took another hour just to get it diagnosed. They were professional to a agree. Explain to.me in great easy to follow detail.abput what was wrong with my car. Even suggested what I should get fixed that day and which ones can wait. Ill be going back .

Customer service has always been good here. I used them to change over tires on 3 vehicles over the years. One technician didnt put the directional tires on correctly but they did correct it for us free of charge (same day). Customer service is excellent. Sometimes we do have to wait longer to get tires changed irregardless if we had an appointment. But since thier customer service is great its worth the wait!

Was able to get snow tires switched over in the same day - quick, professional service.

They were able to get my car in and out of the shop within 24 hours. The person checking me in addressed all of my questions. They called and texted a few times with updates.

Needed a tire put on a different rim. Quick in and out. Maybe 15 or 20 minutes total. Reasonable price.

Their inspection was very thorough and I enjoyed being able to see it on my phone. Great communication, very quick. Highly recommend.

Fuel line broke with major leak they took us right in we are from out of town. While it seemed especially expensive we understand there must be an urgent fee and we are willing to pay that. Also the part didn’t come from California for a week. They were gracious employees and the were very busy and handled it all very well! They will be our go to from now on if we need car care in Anchorage! We have not picked up our vehicle yet but we are expecting good quality!!

I had a wonderful experience with them yesterday. I had a completely flat tire on Seward Hwy. Luckily I was around the corner from them when I found out and my insurance road car assistant service changed the tire within 10 mins. Midas replaced the bad tire for a new one in an hr. Not bad at all for an emergency situation. Thank you so much for saving my day!!

Courteous while getting the job done

Had a 9AM appointment to have my studded winter tires mounted and balanced. Was told it would be 2 to 2.5 hrs to complete the job. Arrived back at the midas store at 11AM only to find that my vehicle hadnt even been worked on at all. I am not clear on why they didnt call me to inform me of a delay. Not only this, but the service manager was unapologetic about the whole situation. I got one half-hearted apology; with the manager not appearing to care about basic customer service. Do not bring your vehicle if you wanted it worked on in a timely manner, and this store seems to have forgotten about taking care of their customers.

They are the best midas in town. A year ago I went to the old seward location and they totally ripped me off. I went to the northern lights location and they fix the problem and did an amazing job. They refunded me when the other place on old seward charged me for things I didnt need done.

I suppose its a fine oil change but the oil change total was $93.98. I use synthetic and have gotten my oil changed at other places for $78 so this seems like a rip off for a basic service. They charged $40 for labor, I am sure the tech is not making that much which is even more of a rip off. Please for the love of God go somewhere else and get a better price.

Schedule oil change at 12pm.Comeback 2hrs later to pick up my car but they didn’t even started working on.

There mechanic misled me on what was being replaced, put a 600 percent upcharge on the parts, and did not fix the issue.

Car had more problems costing me over $700 not even 24 hours after getting an oil change.

Did not balance my tires. Also in violation of the city mask mandate.

They have been upfront with me since the first time I visited. They will tell you all needs to be fixed with the price for each. The last time they ( I cant remember who I spoke with) told me in which order to replace the parts by which was more crucial Omid I could get it all done in one go.

Three strikes in one sitting. Scratched my vehicle, swapped out tires and installed in wrong rotation direction and placed the previous tires into my interior when specifically asked them not to do so. Went back to have the rotation problem fixed and waited over an hour. If you like your paint, interior and free time I don’t recommend this place.EDIT: Also forgot to place my wheel cap back on, costing me another trip back to this shop.

Paid 180 in February for a transmission flush. I had to take my car to a mechanic last week for an unrelated reason and was told that my transmission fluid was dirty and that the transmission needed to be flushed. Told the mechanic it had been flushed just a few months ago, which he said could not have been the case the way the fluid was looking. So I get to pay again to have a service done that should have already been done. Fortunately the manager at Midas was nice, very apologetic, and did give me a refund, but unfortunately they can’t refund my wasted time and irritation.

10/10 do recommend.

I took my car to these folks a couple months ago for an oil change. I usually go to Palmer or Wasilla, but since they are by my work, I thought I would give them a try. It was quite fast turn around, but shortly after picking up my car I noticed an oil leak. I called them about it and they claimed that they went over this with me. I was never told, nor was it stated on my paperwork. They said that my oil pan was cracked and leaking. When I took it back they said that it would be $700 to replace, but they could do it for $550. I explained that I never had an oil leak and that Midas is the only place I take my vehicles to. Logically, one would think that they would fess up to cracking it, but instead they said this is common when changing oil on my vehicle. I googled it on my phone and found no such info. After a lengthy back and fourth they finally admitted that their tech may have broke it by over tightening and they would fix it for free... in a few days. They did fix it when they got the part in, but nothing by the way of an apology or anything.Today I take my car in for an oil change and gave them a second chance. They emailed me photos of my cabin filter about an hour later and say it must be replaced. I agreed to do so and was quite surprised when the charged me $30 for a $10 filter and another $30 to put it in (though they already had it open as a “courtesy” to check it). Then they claimed that it is in a very “difficult location” to get to on my vehicle. It is literally one clip on the side of my glove box and that is it... open in seconds. Then they said it is a standard charge of $30. I had to review... so you opened it up, took it out and snapped a photo as a courtesy, but it is $30 to slide a new one in!? This is why no one trusts mechanics these days. You would think a company as big as Midas would be a little more customer oriented. I contested the charge and they gave me the number to corporate. I guess they don’t need my years of business. Hopefully no one else will waste their time and money their either.

They were prompt, and got everything done within the time they quoted me.

I got the easy pay option and my truck is still cutting off and not running good. They told me what they did will fix the problem. That wasnt the case. Now I got to pay over 700 dollars for a truck thats not running properly.

They were a little high on the labor but took care of the problem I use to get a lot of coupons from them could u send some more please thax

$60 in LABOR for an oil change is criminal. The rep explained it was because they do a better job with the synthetic oil changes. Does that imply they do a bad job for a regular oil change? An oil change is an oil change, you just get it done. Dropped off for a 9:30 appt and 50 minutes later they hadnt touched my vehicle.Never taking a vehicle here again. Only did today out of lack of time.

I needed new brakes badly and when I called the service manager David quoted me a price and also told me it would be more if the calipers needed replacing. They were able to get my vehicle in right away and I absolutely loved receiving the service report via text with pictures showing me exactly what needed to be repaired. The repairs ended up being more than I anticipated, but they got me in quickly and customer service was fantastic.

Do not use online appt. I got confirmation for the Northern Lights location. Drove there but they did not have me booked. Very irritated.

Service was minimal & adequate.

Update 2021: I loved that I could make an appointment. I was helped immediately when I dropped my car off. I received a digital inspection report via text message that was amazing. Green, red and yellow indicators for each inspection item, detailed explanations, and photos of those parts that needed repair. I was able to communicate with them via text message regarding which actions I wanted to proceed with after they provided detailed price quotes. They texted again when my car was ready. I was helped right away when I went to pick it up and I was charged precisely as had been previously indicated. This was an exceptionally good car repair experience! 2018: The service personnel were friendly and helpful, the service took less time than had been anticipated, and the quality seemed good. The price was a bit high, but that seems to be the norm in Anchorage.

They had an opening for me the next day after I called. They took my car in immediately and made me feel welcome in the waiting room. The staff was super informative and the techs surprised me by vacuuming the car.

Took my jeep Cherokee to get the brakes done. They wanted 1800.00+. When I said no I want just the brakes (pads, rotor) it came down to 1300.00+.

Would strongly advise double checking the work you pay for, before leaving the parking lot.

I got my oil changed at Midas a couple of months ago. When I was checking out with the overweight Caucasian lady I asked her about the $10 off coupon. With the $10 off coupon my total wouldve been $50 instead of $60. She swore that there was no coupon and charged me $60 then gave me an envelope with the cost to repair the rest of my car. I talked to my Mom and she asked me why they lied about the coupon and I said I didnt know why. After this I called back and a male told me that it is my fault and that I need to bring the coupon in next time. I reminded him that I asked about the coupon and where to get it from and the lady lied and said there wasnt one. He nonchalantly said ok. Fast forward to today I have the money to fix my car but I will be giving Midas none of my business anymore. Their customer service is garbage and they arent interested in saving their customers money.

I called for a quote to change a timing chain retentioner and was told they would have to take my engine out and pay labor for 15 to 16 hours. My husnad changed it in 20 minutes without taking out the engine. I no longer have faith in this company....

Ive been going to the Boniface one for a while and theyve always been great. However today, my oil change took an hour over the estimated time. They voided the charges and let me keep my get 4 have an oil change free coupons. Great customer service :) Will definitely recommend

I believe this is the only one star review i have given. I stood at the counter for 20 minutes without being helped. Was completely ignored. I just stood there patiently. They did not look busy. Several empty bays with doors open. I asked if they could squeeze in an oil change. Dude said they were done for the evening... this was at 330. I even called ahead to ask if they could. They told me it was first come first serve. I searched google maps and went to the next closest place.. who was also not busy, and got it done in less than 45 minutes.

I love taking my car (Jetta VW) here. Great service, quick, knowledgeable, polite, and honest staff, shop is centrally located in midtown. I use to dread taking my car anywhere to get fixed/tire change outs, I could never find a place that did it all or that was convenient to take it to. I’ve been going here for over 6 years, i can now say I’m happy to find a place I can easily drop my car off for any of its needs.

Sat in the lobby an extra 30 minutes they had the keys ready but didnt see them while we just sat waiting. At the end they said I had an oil pan leak, which was the exact same speech that they gave the guy In front of me, and the oil pan clearly doesnt have any leaks and it would be $250 to fix it, my oil pan Is perfectly dry with no oil leaking.

Professional but expect to wait a long time

Took my truck here multiple times for different issues and have always had a great experience. Ive had everything from an alternator replaced to oil changes also purchased new tires from them this location all for a great price. All their employees are very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend this Midas to everyone.

Put my spare tire upside down so I cant fill it when its installed. Took me 4 hours to fix it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We let our recently bought second hand car check here. The team was super friendly and helpful, you get a very detailed report on your phone with pictures of all the parts in your car and their current status. Now were here the second time to buy tires, theyre installing them immediately – no appointment needed. Free coffee and wifi during our wait. We absolutely trust these guys!

Chose to have my oil changed and low tire checked at Midas, they took great care of my vehicle, they even topped off my fluids, and called me 10 min before my car needed to be picked up! Had an all around great experience and great customer service, I definitely recommend!

I was told my oil change wpuld be 25 minutes.. i waited one hour and 20 minuets before i had keys in hand and was able to pay for my service. I was very Disappointed

Horrible service needed a patch/plug in my tire was told they sent everyone home and where unable to do anything but I wonder y the doors where even open at this point if u cant do anything for everyone so now he suggest me to put a spare on until monday that Im outta luck now what if I had a trip (which I do) to go on Im expected to ride on a spare I showed up a half hour before they closed and got turned away and am now stuck with no trip because I do not trust a spare to make it as far as I need it to and am not going to endanger the people in my car and get stranded but thanks for nothing midas
