The place I always go to get oil changed, breaks and tires. Been going here for years and they always do quality work. Staff is friendly and helpful. Also always nice to grab a bag of popcorn or a cookie they have in the lobby.

Wonderful service. Was told that the vehicle may be sitting there for week, but they made repairs within 24 hours. Id bring my vehicle back to them for other things. They do get busy working on vehicles, so be patient. The mechanics take pride in their work, and they want to show that pride by making the best possible repairs on your vehicle.

Had a friend that wanted me check out shops so they could get transmission oil changed properly. Ask them how they did change transmission oil description was totally proper. I would recommend this place with confidence!!!

Changed a water pump and drive belt on my 93 chevy truck and did a great job. Work was clean and done well. Had my rig in and out same day. Price was also reasonable.

Kendall Ford gave me an estimate of $2,200.00 and wanted to charge me 25.00 just to move my vehicle to a parking spot on their property!BIG O did the repairs to my vehicle for 680.00.I am very pleased with my experience there. No nonsense, straight forward service. I highly recommend Big O

I was impressed. Easy to get in touch with every time I call, estimates feel easy and reasonable, they dont overcharge for labor and they accomplish what they set out to do every time. Ive worked for a number of different dealerships with about 10 years of service writing experience. You wont be disappointed with Big Os!

Another place had given me a 2,200.00 estimate and Big O was approximately 600.00. Thats a huge difference.My vehicle is currently there, Ill make it 5 stars when they are done.Update:They finished the job for 685.00, Im happy and going to continue to take me vehicles there. 5 stars for now!

My friend recommended me to these guys after getting ripped off at another place. Big O is the real deal, they got my abs fixed! They are very knowledgeable and will work on your vehicle. Richard was very understanding when I went on a test drive with him. You could tell he really strives to get your car fixed right! A+ to these guys. I used to go to Midas until I got tired of my car still having issues even after they got paid to fix them. So I asked around and some friends recommended Big Os and the reviews looked good. So I called them and talked to a nice gentleman Brett or Brent and explained that I just need an estimate to give to my housing who would pay for it, and he assured me I would get a call before any work was done. Well I get a message the next week from someone saying my car was ready and to let them know when I can pick it it up! So I luckily had enough money saved that was meant for my bills that month, and paid it. And it still sometimes stalls and dies and acts like it doesnt want to restart. Im getting frustrated spending money on this and it not getting fixed!

I have nothing but good things to say about Big O’s. They were so helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. They have great customer service, and that means a lot . It’s so important to be able to put your trust into a business. Especially when it comes to something as important as your only transportation. They looked into issues I was concerned about and gave me feedback that was useful, so I knew how to proceed accordingly without costing me a ton of money.I was also pleasantly surprised by the total cost of the work they did on my vehicle, usually after I leave a shop I question if I was ripped off or not. It was great not to have that feeling! I’m very impressed with the people who work there, and the work that they do.

I came here with two separate cars, each time I received great customer service. They have a professional setting and great turn around time despite it being a busy season. Labor cost was a bit high however, you get what you pay for. I would definitely come again!

I’ve used Big Os previously for tire change over and oil change. I went to Big Os when my driver side mirror on my car was hit when parked downtown. My driver side mirror would not move with the electronic button. I went to Big Os and they state even though everything is in tact they would need to replace the whole driver side mirror estimate of $500. I went to a car service on Arctic (will update with name when I pass by place again) and the gentlemen popped my mirror into place for free and it worked good as new. I saved $500 for NOT going to Big Os.

A waste of my time and yours if you go there. I have electrical issues with my vehicle it took them 2 days to tell me nothing, to be honest I dont believe that they checked or tested anything. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Thumbs down 👎for me!

I had my Honda pilot worked on, timing belt, water, pump and valve adjustment. They did an amazing job and found a coolant leak that I thought was the water pump. They fixed it along with the other things that needed to be worked on. Amazing job, with the same quality of the Honda dealership if not better, for a way less than what Continental Honda would have charged me! I would recommend them to everyone! Bring your car over to them, you wont not regret it!

Went in to get my timing belts fixed and you took care of everything that I could think of that would possibly be needed to be done by vehicle. Was a very pleasant And Timely experience

I brought my Mercedes in for a pre-buyers inspection. Everyone inside was extremely pleasent. Upon returning to pick it up I see my passenger side window SHATTERED! I asked the owner what could have possibly done that to my window. He had no explaination but assured me he would review the security footage to find out, and get my window fixed. 2 days later I receive a call from the owner informing me it was fixed. Upon picking up my vehicle they showed me the footage. There was nothing happening nor was anyone even around my vehicle that could have possibly caused that to happen and yet they still fixed my side glass at no charge. This kind of service is seldom found in the automotive repair industry anymore. Most shops would have used that footage against me to claim it was not their fault. Big Os is the kind of shop you can send your mother to when her car needs a repair, and not have to worry about her being taken advantage of. Mind you, I have never used them for a repair in my life, and this is the kind of treatment I got from them. These guys are a class act. I wish there were more people like them in the industry. I look forward to giving them my business in the future.

The guy I worked with there was Tom. He was VERY upfront, could tell he was a genuine guy from the jump. Called in advance and provided estimates before performing them, offered suggestions and recommendations on my particular situation, and even gave me resources.The place makes you feel at home. Fresh popcorn, coffee, and donuts in the waiting area, big windows to their shop to see work being performed, wood walls creating that dense, comfortable atmosphere.I hope I dont need to see them for a while - but when my vehicle acts up, Ill certainly be taking it back to Big Os Auto.

I took my Dodge truck for an oil change at Big O. First I noticed a huge wrench as the door handle! The waiting area was roomy & comfortable. Rims and other automotive parts were the end tables & decor- how clever!The staff greeted me respectfully and while waiting invited me to try some of their amenities. There was hot coffee, danish, cookies, candy & popcorn-what else? Thank you!The area was tastefully decorated for the holiday that was coming up. Television, magazines- I could have spent all day passing the time but they finished the oil change in a timely fashion and I was on my way! didnt want to leave!The staff, mechanics, cashier-everyone there- was professional & happy with smiles and kindness I havent found at a shop ever! What a great experience.Thank you. You guys are doing an fabulous job taking care of me, the customer & my car in Anchorage.

Stay away from the dealerships and fly by night hole in the wall shops, these guys are the real deal and they will never let you down.

Great repair job for reasonable price, trustworthy. Knocked off one star for communication as it took longer than anticipated and I wasnt notified. Would definitely use them again.

Since I have a Mini Cooper, many shops in town didn’t want to work on it because my “engine is small”. I went to Big O’s and they didn’t refuse to service my car. No matter how complicated the job they got it done. Before they ordered parts, they called me to let me know how much it would be, and if I wanted to go forward with the work. They also have a military discount! Inside the shop is so nice! Popcorn, drinks, and snacks while you wait. Great staff, very nice vibes. When I came to pick up my car, they explained to me what they did, and things I should get done in the near future! I wouldn’t take my car to any other establishment.

Really great staff. They were super helpful and knowledgeable. I took my Jeep there after the dealership gave me an estimate of $1,200+, I ended up paying Big O’s around $850 to do the same job the dealership would of done.When I got my Jeep back home, I realized my radio wasn’t put back in correctly, so I took it back and they fixed it really quick, very apologetic- my car had been there all week, so they were trying to get it back to me as soon as possible, (they told me ahead of time they wouldn’t be able to work on it until Friday, it was undrivable, so I just left it there) . The next day I realized half of my dash board lights weren’t working.... thinking they just weren’t connected back like the radio was, I took it back. They checked it out, turns out the lights were dead, but they still replaced them, no charge. They were super super nice and genuine people.

This shop is outstanding! After 3 years of total incompetence from the Lithia RAM dealer in Wasilla these guys fixed my issue. They had to repair the damage the dealership did to my wiring harness b4 they could actually work on the issue. After that it took less than a day to perform the repair. These guys did all that and it still cost less than what the dealer charged me the 3 times they worked on it with out fixing it. I cant say enough good things about this shop, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and provided me an accurate estimate after they identified all the issues. I highly recommend them for all your RAM needs and I will assume they can tackle all brands!

They did great work but they were too far away from where I live.I chose to go to a couple shops closer by and have regretted it. They did fine work but I never got the feeling that I was their number one priority. The straw that broke the camels back, was an experience with a local dealership. I recently bought a used truck and wanted it to be inspected. I also brought it in for the close location and their brand specific expertise in hopes to find a new reliable mechanic. Ive never been involved in a place were they go after your money so aggressively. Needless to say it went downhill from there, but this is not about them.After that experience, I searched for top Anchorage auto shops and near the top sat Big Os. Remembering my earlier experience, I came running back. Ive now been involved with Big Os on 4 separate occasions and all have been an excellent experience. Take a chance and visit them, I promise the moment you walk in you will feel welcome. Brent, Jeff and Tom will greet you with professionalism, experience and a smile. First met the folks at Big Os when they stayed open late to replace my dead battery (since I didnt dare turn the car off). So great introduction! Then took my car in for a 60k check up. Within an hour, received a t/c advising this vehicle did not require a 60k check up, so I could save my money. Honesty was a great follow up.Now take my car in for all service needs, from tire change overs to tune ups. Honest, prompt, and pleasant. Cant ask for more.

After taking my 2005 Colorado to Midas for a routine front alignment, I was told that my parts were so worn, I would need to get them all replaced, turning a $100 job into a $1400 job. I took my truck to Big Os for a second opinion, and they said my parts were totally fine, and aligned my front end in less than 2 hours. They went over the process with me in detail, and provided excellent customer service. Thank you Big Os for your honesty and great service! I will be back (hopefully not too soon) for any of our vehicles needs.

They had my truck in and out in no time and fixed the problem that I had been monkeying with for months. I cant say enough positive things about this shop! We had several large repairs done with them and they were beyond HONEST, prompt, and helpful! Our family is mechanically inclined but our schedules and resources dont always allow us to do our own work and we have always been impressed with their business - nor have I ever heard a negative thing about them. Big Os has probably been the first auto shop that has treated us right since we bought our car. They were very friendly, thorough and even though we have no car knowledge whatsoever, they were honest and did not try to scam us, which is very rare these days. They made sure everything in our car looked well enough to drive down to the lower 48 and fixed all the little problems we were having. There is no one else I would go to with car troubles or even car questions in the anchorage area. Go and you wont regret it.

Big Os is the place to go. I had serious problems with my trucks motor. They received my new motor shipment and went to work. They swapped the entire motor with warranty of work in less than a week. Top notch service and top notch customer service.

I love these guys, each and everytime I have had an issue with a vehicle ( personal and company) I take it to Big Os and they amaze me. One time my headlights on a 2003 s10 stopped working, I checked everything, replaced relays, fuses and even switches (not cheap), finally I broke down and took it to Big Os.....the Technician traced wires all the way back behind the dash where there was a hidden fuse box (not the main one) and the terminals were fried. He showed me and I was amazed, because its location was one of those WTF things. Thanks guys, a very loyal customer!

Excellent staff, maybe not the friendliest phone service at times (can come off blunt or dismissive if busy). Theyve taken care of me with both vehicles, fair prices. Gotten brakes and electrical work done. Theyll keep working at your problems until its done, and they cut me a break on the bill when time ran longer than it should have.Not great on updates, but if you call them you will get a quick and comprehensive status. Theyll never up sell work or suggest unnecessary work, so I consider them to be very honest and reputable.Shop is nice and clean, and drop off and pick up is as easy as can be.

Overall sloppy job i will never bring my truck back i highly advise anyone looking for their vehicle to get fixed and fixed right dont bring it to big os

I wasn’t impressed with the service. They are good with oil changes but service was never very friendly. Super expensive as well. I never got the problem fixed and walked away unsatisfied.

The staff was very helpful and accommodating. They made arrangements for my vehicle to be towed to their shop. My vehicle was in and out within a matter of a day. Took my vehicle back in the following day because I had some service indicators flashing and they were willing to look at it. Oddly enough the guy who towed it had hooked into a sensor harness and broke it. They fixed it in a matter of an hour and had me out with no charge. Big Os is honest, fast, and very helpful!

I took my BMW X5 to Big Os to check my brakes and do a safety check. (I had recently taken it to BMW for an oil change and inspection and they didnt list anything wrong. BMW service likely didnt do an inspection at all even though it said they did on my receipt.) Big Os diagnosed the issues and fixed them the same day. They gave an estimate before any work was performed. Actual price was actually lower. I cant say enough good things about Big Os.

Jeff at the counter is always helpful and friendly. Prices are normal, 10% off for seniors. They can be fast if need be.

Ok so just to tell you that you guys rock!! They did great job with alignment on my Nissan and pretty quick. Also when my tire got flat they patched it in 30min and i was walk in. Few other shops told me they cant patched it at all, the big o’s did a great job and saved me some money. Very nice people.You have coffee and water for free so thats a good if your waiting for one hour or more. Great prices seriously. Great service overall!!

They have the worst communication skills ever, I talked to 3 different people about the same situation and they still couldnt get it together. Not too mention that I took my car in for a left back brake and when I got it back not only did they have screws loose in it which they did fix for free(as they should have) but my front breaks are now squeaking and theyre brand new. Definitely not taking my car there again. Also the manager Jeff was very rude and acted annoyed at me as if I miscommunicated with them. Then they said it was my voicemail that was too long so thats why they never left a message, but when I called my voicemail it was literally 17 seconds. I will say the owner Tom did try to make things okay and was really nice, but by then the damage had been done, and it resulted in losing a customer that always paid in full that day, I might add.

I had recently purchased a used Pontiac Aztec. The man who sold it to me confirmed it to be reliable and working great. Nearly just about a month or so later it started over heating within 3 minutes of driving in it. I spent so much money trying to figure out what was wrong with it. Finally, once my dad had it taken to Big Os (who are highly reccommended) they were very honest and very prompt with finding and letting me know what the problem was.All in all, I took a loss. The repairs I needed done were worth much more then what I could afford, and really would spend as much trying to fix it then I would just buying a new RELIABLE vehicle. I felt like I had been scammed (by the original owner of the vehicle) and pretty much taken advantage of; being a young single mother. The staff at Big Os was amazing in helping me with my options. I think his name is Jeff? In the service department... He was extremely helpful and kind.He went above and beyond to make sure that everything was taken care of on my end. It was amazing to get such wonderful customer service in a not so great time for me. Big Os staff is honest, hard working, and delivers very prompt exceptional service. Everyone there should be commended. Thank you Big Os! Lets hope I am not back soon, but I definitely know where to go if I ever have these troubles again.

Unless I had to take a car to a dealer (which I LOATHE) for warranty service, I use Big Os for all my auto repair needs; and have for at least a dozen years.Not only do they perform quality work, expeditiously, they can always be counted on to do honest work. I never feel like Ive been bamboozled when I leave Big Os.I recommend them to all my friends.

Now I know what the O in Big Os stand for = OUTSTANDING!Our son is now stationed at JBER and started to have problems with his SUV. After getting misdiagnosed (and ripped off $$!) at two area dealerships he took his truck to Big Os. Tom and his crew did a GREAT job correctly diagnosing the issue and taking care of the extended warranty paperwork. The two area dealerships said that the repairs wouldnt be covered under the warranty. Theres a reason why Big Os is always so busy - they do consistently good work at fair prices. To some of the posters who have complained about Big Os = no auto shop is perfect! Problems in cars/trucks/etc. can be tough to pinpoint!Thanks Tom for taking care of our son!Os = OUTSTANDING!

I took it for a second opinion because they were JERKS and that shop told me my brake pads were at 80% and did NOT NEED to be replaced like BIG Os told me!!!!JERKS RIP OFF RUDE HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called for advice regarding tires because I trust their guidance and recommendations.

I took my Kia for the air bag light. They checked it and couldnt find the problem. The Kia dealer couldnt find the problem either( I took it in for two times). But the dealer charged me $ 60 everytime I took it in. Big O didnt charge me anything since they cant find the problem. Big O, you guys are great.

Been going to big os for 30 years, Tom the owner told us to sell our fam 01 audi allroad, really? Jeff who I have been personal friends for 38 yrs is the service manger, so I ask how many hrs by the book did a oil leak fix take on our audi. he calls back and says they dont have the tools so cant do it, Really? well this is the deal, the tec that is to do the job will not be paid for a 8hr job when it takes him 8 hrs, these guys are on commison, meaning if the job pays 8 hrs the tec expects he can do it in 5/6 hrs gets paid for 8. this goes on in the auto body shops and auto shops in Anch. Total BULLSHIT, we could buy a new car and pay cash but like our 10 yr old Audi and Big os will not work on it, they did not lose 1 client they lost 5. my kids will not be going back . 1-nurse 1- doctor 1- union man this is not about money on our part, it is about BIG OS Tecs SCREWING THE clients.

Worst service Ive had in the 31 years living in Anchorage. Was told on Tuesday by the service department to drop my car off on Thursday evening and use the key dropbox and they would get to it on Friday. Called Friday at 11am and was told nobody should have told me to bring it in because the guy that works on rough idles was out until the 24th (this being the 7th). Was then told they would try to see what’s up with my car. Called back at 3pm and no one had even attempted to look at it and they close in 2.5 hours. I said, ok just leave it outside and Ill come by and get it and take it somewhere else. No concern at all, just an ok..bye. For your ad to read 12 technicians with 200 years experience but the guy that works on idles if off for 17 more days sounds pretty lame. CC. Angies list, Google comments, BBB
