Terrible communication with the special services desk. Misinformation during the ordering of a door. Door was labeled wrong so had to take the door back and waited 1 1/2hrs for the correct door size. DO NOT TRUST ANYONE IN THE DOOR DEPARTMENT TO GIVE CORRECT INFO ON ORDERS. Exchanged the door only to find it wrong again once we went to install it. HELP!! I also spent 1/2hour on the phone getting routed around and being left on hold forever. Very frustrating.

Dont use Home Depot for any big jobs like roofing, fencing, carpet, painting, etc. I had them out to my house in April to go over a roofing job, I was told by Carl that Jeff, their roofing supervisor, was ahead of schedule and that an 8 week window was possible. I asked him that many times, and each time, was told the same. Jeffs ahead of schedule, its possible. He was also clear that it would be between 8-12 weeks, but I felt it was at least doable to get late May or very early June, so I signed, and gave them $1000. (Big Mistake, I shouldnt have used Home Depot or believed what they said.) 5 weeks go by and its now May 4th or so, I email them about wanting a start date, no one replies. I email them again, and no one replies. I text Jeff, he doesnt reply. I finally call Customer Service, and I get sent to a CS agent back east, not even in CA, to supposedly help me with my install issue. That person knew nothing, and could not help, but they said someone would call me. Jeff calls me on Friday May 5th and says someone will call me Monday or Tuesday to set an install date. I said fine. Monday I get the call, person says my first install opening is JUNE 22nd! almost 3 months to the day I first got the quote... thats right, the very end of June. Im was not happy about this at all, and state I want to stop this project, just refund me my $1000. Carl, the initial rep calls me, talks for 45 minutes, just trying to make sure hes not liable, wanted to CYA himself. I still want to cancel though. So Ron, from back east, calls me (Sales Manger) and basically states that Ill loose the $1000 if i cancel the project, and that theyve done nothing wrong, so wont work with me. Well, in general they followed the rule of the contract sure, they also made darn sure to get the project going on the 11th week in order to lock me into the contract, or Id lose my cash. Just note however -- due to the time each phase was done on their end, there was no way they could have ever hit that magic 8 week window, it was impossible. They probably never do get a roof done in 8 weeks. Ive learned my lesson, dont trust Home Depot, and for sure dont use Home Depot... take my advice get your big projects done by a company you can trust, like Lowes, Ace or a local Contractor etc.
