Family oriented atmosphere. Professor Ian and coaches don’t yell and scream at the kids. They provide structure as well as a fun environment. My two boys and I have been going there for over 2 years now. My daughter will join next.

This school is amazing!!!! I love it and would highly recommend it to others! Its newly remodeled and super clean. The school has a very family oriented vibe. Everyone is friendly and willing to help. Professor Ian takes the time to explain everything slowly and efficiently. I guarantee you will like it.

Came here when traveling for work. Coach Andy was very welcoming and super friendly. Everyone at the school was very extremly welcoming. The class followed a good structure as well. Will definitely be going back when traveling to Anaheim again.

I am a visitor traveling from Manila and had high expectations for jiu jitsu academies abroad. Gracie Barra Anaheim indeed met my expectations. Class size isnt too large, so students get equal attention from the coach/higher belts. Coach Andy was warm and accommodating, as well as the vibe of the rest of the class. I was pleasantly surprised to be given tips during partner drills and get coached during live rolls. I know that in some gyms, coaches dont pay much attention to visitors who are just passing through, but I didnt experience that here. Looking forward to my next visit. If you live in the area, i strongly recommend pursuing your training at this place.

Fantastic school. I visited from out of town, and I couldnt have asked for a better experience. Great coaches and facility. They were so welcoming, I didnt want to leave! The other students skills were great and challenging. If you are interested and in the area, definitely check it out!

Signed up my son, only been to a few classes but he loves it! The coaches are thorough with the instructions and are extremely helpful and nice.Im also trying out their womens class on Saturday its definately a work out and very useful to learn self defense.

This place is easy to make your second home. The format is straightforward, training is stimulating, and people always friendly. The staff here are both accommodating and inviting as well. Definitely worth a visit! OSS.

Came in as a beginner and never trained a day in my life but I was blown away by how friendly the staff and community is at this location. Very welcoming and positive environment for all ages and skill levels.

My son started here over two years ago, my husband and daughter started in January 2016 and then I started in April 2016. We all love it! Its a great family oriented Jiu Jitsu Academy teaching discipline, respect and defense skills. Head Coach/Professor and owner Ian is a phenomenal instructor!

Great school, especially for students who are just getting started with BJJ. The instructors are not only skilled practitioners, but do a wonderful job of teaching. The atmosphere is about supporting each other and learning techniques properly, leaving your ego behind

I travel for work and I try and find schools that are both chill and top level (harder than it seems) These guys are super inviting and chill. Its nice to not be the traveling new guy and get your head ripped off. I have trained in schools all over the world from AKA Thailand to the Bay Area. I have learned that some are more welcoming to travelers than others. This school is one of the most welcoming by far. I couldnt pack a Gi for this trip and Barra schools are known for their strict uniform policy. I was nervous but... They loaned me a Gi and a belt! I was overwhelmed by the kindness of the owner Ian. He is a legit black belt with legit students. They are competing this weekend and his lesson tonight was a solid fundamental focus on passing. Many schools these days tend to get caught up in the latest trends and forget that solid basic techniques win tournaments. When it came time to spar everyone was focused on technique instead of trying to crush the new guy. Everyone seemed like family and truly cared about each other. The safety and well being of your training partners should always be number one and at this gym it is. I cant say enough good things about Ian and his down to earth crew. If you are in town or live here this is the gym to go to. OSS

Professor Ian Alden is an outstanding instructor and I have seen my game grow a lot in a short period of time under his tutelage. Professor Ian genuinely cares about his students as he trains with us until the last of us are tapped out for the night. He is a very technical grappler and he really understands how to teach his techniques as he adjusts his teaching style to fit the skill level of his students. The academy has a very warm and welcoming vibe and it is exciting to see entire families training Jiu-Jitsu together here at GB Anaheim.

The perfect place for learning self defense, competitive Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and or Martial arts discipline. Professor Ian is a black belt in BJJ, a brown belt in Judo and excellent at communication. You will learn a lot at this school. Its fun, safe and clean!

Ive been training at Gracie Barra Anaheim Hills for a couple years now and the teaching and the atmosphere is top notch. Perfect place to go if you want self defense training and a good workout while avoiding the egomaniacs at the gym. Everyone is friendly and the instructor has both MMA and competitive Jiu-Jitsu experience so he has knowledge and experience that you would not be able to find somewhere else. Great place to go to build your confidence and make new friends.
