Really disappointing, but the staff are helpful. Shower and bathroom was disgusting upon move in… the bedroom carpet was also soaking wet, they did respond quickly to that but I’m just really surprised this apt was given the okay to move in. My unit also smells like dog… carpets are nice tho that’s the one good thing. Overall this place has disappointed me and caused me more stress than ever… it would be more understandable if these apts were cheap… but they aren’t… however maintenance does seem to come out quickly after I hound them and go to the office pretty much in tears… would not recommend. The maintenance has come quickly tho and they have been fairly on top of things

You’d be able to find a cheaper, and nicer apartment anywhere else in Ames. The last 3 months for our utilities went up from $75ish to $300 because the owner couldn’t man up and tell his residents that he was switching services. The staff is very friendly, and understanding with the issues. If you have half a brain you wouldn’t sign a lease with the current apartment owners name anywhere on it.

The office was very accommodating and patient with me in the process of a stressful and complicated relet. Extremely friendly people who are more than willing to do what they are able to for their tenants.

Got a quick tour of the place and loved it! One of the staff, Katherine was really kind and gave an all around great tour. Really convincing. Excited to apply for lease after that.

We live in a 3 bedroom townhouse and love it. Weve collectively rented many properties from different companies throughout Ames and it has so far been our favorite. Its a very quiet neighborhood, the management and office staff is always helpful, maintenance is generally quick to address concerns, and snow removal has been speedy so far. It is also very easy to get to campus as the bus stops are close by and buses are frequent.

My daughter has the pleasure of living here! We met Alyssa when I was in town at a grab and go breakfast. Very pleased to know my daughter is in good hands here.

I always have fun with my buddies at their townhome. Rylee and Gabby help them out all the time. I wish that I would have known about the reserve a few years ago because I for sure would have lived here.

Rylee, Gabby, and Victoria are always so helpful with anything needed at the townhomes. The townhomes at The Social are super nice. They have garages with each unit for no additional cost. There is also a pool, basketball court, dog park, and study room access. I highly recommend living here!

The apartments are fine, but the management isn’t great. I’ve called and emailed a few times with questions and they say they will look into it and get an answer and then I just get ignored.

This company (The Social West Ames) flaunts expensive sign-on packages and competitive rates, however their new management is horrible. We were shown a model apartment prior to signing our lease that was completely renovated. When we came to Ames to move in, we had a completely unrenovated apartment assigned to us. When we requested to be moved to the apartment we were originally promised, they told us we had no proof and that we would have to pay a bump up in rent and a $200 transfer fee to move into the apartment we should have had in the first place. Additionally, there were multiple damages to the apartment that the Social has yet to address although we have filed multiple maintenance requests. When we requested to speak to a property manager, there is never one available. The leasing agents are very kind in person, but ultimately have no power. Do not rent from this company, no matter how flashy their signs and packages are.

Can I give a zero star to this management? Worst staff and manager. They don’t know anything about their apartments or the policies. Please do not get attracted by the offers they have, not worth the money or service. The worst of all is their policy that includes various ridiculous huge fees and absolutely dumb rules and regulations.

Do not rent here. They’re remodeling is junk and management are thieves. You look at one apartment and they give you a junk one with “variations.”Don’t fall for the free tv, gift card, or gaming package.
