There are several barber shops that one might consider when searching Altoona and I have been to most of them. Broad ave. Barber shop is the one that I have chosen and I highly recommend it. The staff is very courteous on the phone when making appointments, as well as in house. They have business hours that will work for most peoples schedule to include Saturdays. Their price is fair and competitive for the area. Furthermore, I have given it 5 stars because of the professionalism of the one barber that I will schedule with over any barber in Altoona. His name is Jose. He is a very skilled barber, up to date with current trends, friendly and courteous.It is always money well spent.

I lived in Altoona 25 years ago. While here I went to the mall barber shop. Sue became my barber for awhile. I moved away for awhile and just moved back here. I had someone cut my hair which I didnt like. So I looked for sue and found her here!! Will be letting sue cut my hair from now On! Woohoo

A fantastic traditional barber shop with good prices and perfect hair every time. The entire staff is experienced and professional. I can walk in, take the next available chair and never worry about a bad cut, regardless of who does it. The wait time is usually minimal and even when packed, they keep it moving.

Great place if deciding last minute for haircut

I wanna be clear, I’ve had the same woman cut my hair for the past 18 years and I’ve literally never gone to anyone else. But, since I’m 4 hours away from home and I needed a cut and beard trim badly I did my research and that brought me here to Jose. If you are a man, with the intent to look good, you HAVE to go to Jose. I’m sure his associates are good as well but I’ve never received a better haircut than from this man. He is like an artist. He asks you what your intent is with your hair, he gives you grooming advice and he genuinely cares. Big shoutout to Jose. He’s got me looking fresh and feeling confident.
