Got my first beard shape / trim by Gabe after about 4 1/2 months of growth. Gabe knee exactly what he was doing and shaped my beard perfectly. Bar none, the best haircut I have ever gotten. Ever.Seriously. Ever.I called late afternoon, got an appointment for the same evening, got there on time and was seated immediately. I was fortunate to be under the care of Melinda; her talent and skills were evident from the first time the clippers touched my hair. Plus, she was genuinely nice, with an absolute lack of any ego or snottiness, and really fun to talk to. You know how most stylists listen and nod when you tell them what you want, then go ahead and do their cut anyway? Not this gal. She cut my hair with care and precision, exactly the way I like it, razor-trimmed the burns, around the ears and back, then washed, conditioned, dried and styled me...unbelievably, I was out the door a half hour later. I am still a bit incredulous at how good it looks (usually at this point I am telling myself its okay, it will grow out in a couple of weeks). Ive paid $100 for haircuts I liked less. I got a top-tier haircut for $20 and enjoyed every single minute of it. Thank you Melinda...you are a rock star.

Hands down the best haircut I’ve had both times I’ve gone here. I’ve had both expensive and cheap haircuts and while the prices here land somewhere in between, the quality is top shelf. Presumably giving me an attractive cut with my slightly receded hairline can be a challenge, but Jess is incredibly detail oriented and seems to nail it every time. Since I had only gone once before, I wasn’t sure if perhaps I got lucky but with my second cut I can say Jess is a true professional and her cuts are consistently great. The rest of the staff is friendly and affable and the atmosphere here is fantastic. They all seem to enjoy what they do and take pride in their work. Will be going here for the foreseeable future.

I had recently shaved my head in March at a St. Baldricks fundraiser. I was recommended to Michelle by a good friend whose hair always looks great. I took in a picture of what I would eventually like and Michelle was able to counsel me on the best intermediate haircut to get me from where my hair looked to where I want it to be. Everyone was very nice and friendly from scheduling my appointment to walking in the door to saying goodbye, I am now telling all of my friends to go to Michelle and all of the crew at The Barbers Shop.

Came in with a chia pet beard, and Jess turned it into a masterpiece. Place has a great vibe. Friendly staff who know what theyre doing. Highly recommend!

I always get my haircut by Michelle, she is a great barber. She takes time to get to know you, and what you want. She always goes the extra step to make sure your cut is looking fresh from every view. Definitely a cool atmosphere too and friendly staff all around.

I just got my haircut there by a girl by the name of Michelle. Environment seemed really good people were really great but if they are going to have a barber shop learn how to actually fade a persons hair, now I have to go back home to fix all the mistakes Michelle made, and blend in the crooked lines. I mean seriously I paid $20 for this haircut and am not happy at all I could have save that $20 and bought myself some beer and a couple shots and cut my own hair.... Sorry for the bad review I wish I could have given a better one but honestly it bugs!!! Hopefully someone will make it better cause yeah I would never go back over there!

Love this spot for one major reason among many... Lance g is the best barber in the 505 hands down. I flew from denver a few months back just to get set up before a work event while i was staying there for 6 months, as well as every time i came back to abq to see my wife.. i went straight to see Lance. Yes, hes that good. Doesnt matter if its braids or fades. Line ups or fine cuts. Men and women both. He braids and colors my wives as well. She had the same stylist for 2 and a half years until i begged her to give lance a shot. She never went back to see her stylist again. If you are going to the barbers shop, ask for Lance g or set up an appointment with this guy. He will keep you laughing the entire time before he has you walking out of there looking your best! Thanks lance. The family says hi!

Made an appointment. I got there on time and waited for 30 minutes. ONLY THEN, did the guy say he was going to do someone else ahead of me. I reminded him my appointment was long past. He had the, slovenly, childish, indignant entitlement attitude to not even apologize for wasting my time or pretend he was interested in doing the service he made the agreement to perform, or doing so with the gentlemanliness and deferential behavior of an adult. Instead the barber seemed to think customers are there to give him something and his professional obligations are incidental. It was almost as if he thought he could get tough with me for his disorganization and amateur mistakes. Not only will I never even consider going to this ridiculous, ad hoc, wannabe rte 66 joint, I couldnt help but suspect there may have something racially motivated in his attitude - so readily resentful and difficult on the basis of so little interaction. Wow, what a preposterous experience...

They do a great job cutting hair but each time Ive gone I came 5-10 minutes early like they ask but I have had to wait at least 30-40 minutes. If they ask you to be on time then they need to be on time.
