The owner initially visited my home and said they would photograph the items I wanted to sell, which was most everything in the house. He led me to believe they would be able to complete the entire sale in two weeks. It took over a week just to get the items on line. The entire project took close to six weeks which delayed my move and the sale of my home. During the day people came to pick up their purchases, a brand new $400 compressor disappeared from my garage. Auction Addiction claims no responsibility for this. Two weeks after the pick up of sale items, I still have not received any check or any accounting of what was sold or for how much. When I called to question him about my check and the accounting, he called me a “scum bag”. I would strongly recommend against using Auction Addiction for anything.
Some of these reviews of negative experiences are from people who when clicking the agreed terms dont actually read the terms.thank you guys for this shopping experience.
This group has only one office to pick up items and its way out of town. Biggest gripe is they play with your time they only operate from 3 to 6 on Wednesdays & only and pick up from site on a 2 hour window. . give me a break money spent for items that are held hosrage..bad customer service yo boot.
Lloyd is providing a great service on both ends.....I have been buying from them since his first auction, Thx Lloyd & Esther
First of all, I wasnt very happy going to this particular auction today. This auction estate sale was at my own mothers house. Due to certain circumstances, I had to buy these certain items from my own mothers house. It was sad going to my mothers house and seen everything emptied out. The saddest thing was that the organization was ridiculous. There was no one watching the lot items that people were taking out. Anybody could have taken anything in the house. That is including things that they did not purchase. It would be very easy to steal anyting. That is what happened to me. I had to buy a whole bunch of junk off of one dresser just to get a very special ornament. It was an heirloom Christmas ornament from our family. When I went to that dresser, the ornament was gone. Lloyd really didnt give a hoot. I know someone stole it. Maybe the person that I outbid for that particular dresser lot. Someone else wanted that ornament and they just took it. I am supposed to get my money back. I left everything else on that shelf. I do hope Lloyd honors my refund. I am so happy that no one stole the other heirlooms that I had to buy. I am so happy I got everything else that I bought from my own mothers house.Update after the response from the auction team.Thank you so much for the kind response. It was a very upsetting situation. There are certain circumstances why I had to buy my mothers stuff instead of taking it before the auction. I was not allowed to take those items before the auction. You were so sweet, kind, and considerate in your response. Thank you so much for the refund.
My Auction Addiction helped my family out when we were at our wits end. We had exhausted all our options and still had a house full of a life time of memories and belongings. Esther was prompt to answer my call and quickly had an Estate Sale in place. Don’t hesitate to contact them for all your needs big or small. So kind and respectful. Thank you for saving us ! Kristin and family!!
Horrible experience. The worst! They hid the fact that their brand new clothing was not all brand new like they stated and it was covered with cat hair. Yes some had tags, but with all of the cat hair you cant resell it and claim it is brand new! Will NEVER buy from them again. Insulting! Misrepresentation. And they did not ultimately care. They took advantage of customers not being able to review described items due to COVID-19!! Scammers. Dont support this business. I was warned, but it was too late by the time I heard about their greed and bad business practices because I had already spent hundreds of dollars on items that were not as described. Who would buy a lot of clothing items labeled as ALL NEW only to find out that they were covered with cat hair and some were not even new or to spend another hundred on another lot of clothing only to find even the labeled as NEW were also covered with cat hair! Buyer beware if you ever want to participate in their auctions. Some people like this couple are just about making money and dont care about their customers! I told them I would NEVER bid on any of their auctions ever again and would warn others!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Moreover the owner of this company stated below that they offered a full refund to me. They never contacted me through email stating this, however I will be taking these clothing lots to 35 Canoncito Road NE Albuquerque which is the address listed on their site. I will be leaving them on their doorstep tomorrow! IF I dont get the full refund I will again post on here accordingly. I want no confrontation so I will not be contacting them other than to leave the items on their doorstep. My name on this site it my married legal name so why would they question it? I still have it on my email despite my husbands passing over 30 years ago. They obviously know who I am. And further there was a very clean porch and I staged items there because of the pressure of others wanting to get into the house when they only were allowing 5 people in at a time!!! I would not have put the items on the porch if it had been full of cat hair or dirty. It looked very very clean!!! And it was only staged there in consideration of others waiting in the sun to get in to get their purchased items. I will gladly return the cat hair infested items and they can attempt to deceive others with them if they choose. Now they have edited their review and said I was out to sabotage their business. That is a serious accusation that is entirely unfounded!!! My review is an honest statement. Actually the sellers state that they offered a full refund at first before I wrote this review. however they offered only $20.00 for the misrepresented goods. Then they gave me an address in the Cibola National Park that, when I spent an hour looking for it in Cedar Crest, google maps led me into a forest with no homes. Then I called them and they gave me other directions in the middle of nowhere on a dirt road that you needed a four wheel drive to where I finally a couple of hours later found the place in a entirely other area. So basically at first they gave me very vague directions that were misleading and then on the day I was out there I had to spend a couple of hours finding their place. IF I had a four wheel drive and didnt care about my shocks in my van then it would be alright. Just be aware that they obviously dont want you to return things. I had asked them if I could bring the double bagged clothing to their next sale the next day in a central place and they just said bring them to us in the middle of nowhere down a dirt rutted road beyond a forest road sign that says closed road [ with a scary looking man on the road stopping cars]. Then on their refund receipt they said I claimed the clothing had cat hair on them. YES a lot of the new with tags ones did, but I was kind enough to attempt to shake most of it off when I double bagged them. Cat hair on stated NEW items to any degree compromises their sanitary condition.
My husband and I were faced with selling his mothers house which she had lived in for more than sixty years. As a child of the depression she never threw anything away. After two weeks of trying to organize on our own our real estate agent suggested Albuquerque Auction Addiction. Sandy was a life saver. She had the entire house and out buildings organized, photographed and on-line in no time. Sandy is very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. At the end of the auction the house and out buildings were completely empty. We could not be any happier with the way this over whelming task was accomplished.
I have been a member of My Auction Addiction from the very beginning and have found so many gems and just outright fantastic deals through their auctions, that I would never be able to list them all here! Thank you Lloyd and Esther for being unbelievably honest and outright good people! You guys provide a great service on both sides of the auction coin! You help people sell their items and afford people like me great deals. I have won auctions on coins, fantastic art, watches, and just common household items that I picked up at great prices. Lloyd and Esther work hard to give great service and have always gone the extra mile for me! I hope that you guys are around for many years to come! Thanks! :)
Great concept and business model but poorly executed. Husband and wife team that should consider playing to their strengths instead of dividing work down the middle. The wife, Esther, is far better suited to deal with the public which leaves Lloyd to do the behind the scenes technical work. Errr, well maybe not the website, please stop with the website. I am an art and antique dealer in the area and have purchased a few times over the past year and am continually shocked that they are still in business. The website is an absolute monstrosity and bidding on items is like throwing darts in the dark. Most of the time photos are unclear and descriptions are lacking. The bidding is cumbersome and the whole thing has a 1990s early eBay feel.I want them to succeed because Albuquerque needs a good inclusive estate class, unfortunately this duo is not up to the challenge. Mainly the cocky attitude and ignorance is what is driving this company to failure. They claim to do the research to price items correctly but every single item I have purchased was incorrectly identified and severely undervalued. Although this has been to my benefit I feel badly for the owners being short changed by laziness and ignorance. When I have questioned items in the past, hinting at a possible higher value, I have been rudely told that I do not know what I am talking about. That is why the same item purchased for $20 is then sold in one of my clients gallery for several thousand. I write this review to shed light to future consignors to go ahead and do business just do your own research and make sure some blowhard doesnt undervalue your familys heirlooms. In response to the owner. No that wasnt me but I did recommend your company to them when their father passed a few years ago. I was mortified that they listened and when they called and told me what happened I was deeply regretful that I even mentioned your company. Thankfully the girls have a great sense of humor and we all had a good laugh as they described you running from the house screaming @*#$&_ you &$# @#$&Once again another example of your ignorance and arrogance. That family is well respected in art collecting circles, father an Art Historian mother a museum Director, the items you said are reproductions were purchased from dealers in NYC, LA and Santa Fe....but Im sure the dealers right down to the educated collector have been buying fakes this whole time. The daughters were not bothered by your behavior but rather amused. I on the other hand am disgusted. You should be ashamed.
There are not enough star ratings to recommend Lloyd and his team from Auction Addiction in Albuquerque, NM. Small to large auctions in all facets of estate sales, downsizing and relocation. I was extremely satisfied with the one on one customer service, organization and a streamlined process of the overall project - extremely professional - they make an overwhelming experience for most, seem like an ordinary small task. THANK YOU!!!!
I cant recomend this auction site highly enough. I was going to have to do an estate sale for my mom who had recently downsized to a small assisted living apartment. The estate sale company that came out to give me a quote said we didnt have enough items to do a full estate sale and that I should do my own sale, basically like a garage sale. It seemed overwhelming as we still had so many items. I didnt know where to start to price items etc., then I heard about My Auction Addiction. Sandy came the next day after I called and basically I havent had to do ANYthing else! She took the pictures and posted them, came up with starting prices and our auction took off. It recently closed and just about everything went! I was very pleased with the closing prices. Sandy will take care of pick up day and shipping items. It turned out far better than I would have done with my own estate sale. Thank you Sandy!
Lloyd, Esther, Sandy and Deb at Auction Addiction are awesome!! Every real estate client that Ive had that was thinking of doing yard sales I have put them in touch with Auction Addiction and they have always done a fantastic job!!!!!! And have wowed my clients as well!!
Have purchased items many times. Always fast friendly service. Items descriptions/condition typically accurate. Never had issue with pickup or items purchased.
Sandy did an excellent job on my auction. I highly recommend her and Auction Addiction.
They have done several actions for our clients moving to assisted living or just down sizing. They are great! Kelly and Bryan Coldwell Banker Legacy
Bought great stuff here, and great local business.
This business is just a bully along with the owner. Accuses their customers for stealing, slanders and libels their customers on their website. I have had to report this company to the BBB and had to contact my lawyer for bulling, slander and libel. This company is horrible and doesn’t respect their customers.
