Good luck talking to someone from your own city, good luck even talking to someone in the United States! My advice dont have any problems to solve and a big good luck with that too! Phone dont work and being over charged STILL!
I agree that their internet service is decent, but TDS apparently continues to charge existing customers more than new customers for that service. As far as TV service, it has been spotty at best, is greatly overpriced, and is touted to have 190 channels when close to 50 are duplicates, and the variety is lacking. When we did have an equipment problem it took us almost a week to get it resolved and THEN I had to BEG for credit for the six days without TV service. We had to go out and buy analog antennas so we could at least get local channels while we waited. If you want the truth, we get over 20 channels with the analog antenna which serves us well staying informed and being able to get a decent variety of channels and shows, news, etc.
If I could give a negative 5 stars I would!!! Dropped cable & went with the fastest (supposedly 1gig)internet they had. AS BAD AS the cable service!!! & dont sign up for auto pay!!! They screw you on that as well!!! Join me in pre-signup for Tularosa Basin fiberoptic service!!! The more requests, the faster it will be achieved!!!
Phone payment didnt process for whatever reason. Immediately canceled my Wi-Fi. Paid again, was told my WI-FI would be on in a half an hour. Its been 7 hours, and its not back on, and they dont work weekends. Thanks, ya good for nothing company.

TDS is a joke. They advertise unrealistic speeds but get you with crawling speeds because they say “up to” and have outages every other week. They pretty much run a monopoly because the town is split up among services so you only have one choice for your address.
Internet is decent. Cable is way over valued paying almost just as much as satellite but not getting anywhere near the quality, number of channels and less than half are HD. Be warned they do not and will not prorate, so if u cancel early in the billing period youll be charged for the whole month.
Was scheduled for installation 8-10 am. No show. Called and found out they rescheduled my appointment but didnt bother to call me.Horrible customer service. Canceled my order.
Just upgraded to highest internet speed when I moved into a new home; relatively same area. I had to get a tech out to turn on a line after being told that my new home was just plugnplay prior to moving. The customer service person told me a date but scheduled it for the following day(perhaps a simple misclick in their scheduling system) and after calling I was apologized to and told a supervisor would contact me about a credit for the missed days.No such luck. A week or so go by and now an outage they cant troubleshoot remotely. Now I need a tech to come out and they wont be available for 2 days. Horrible service. I wish their was more competition in this area.
Changed business phone to TDS .phone worked 3 days have not had a working phone for a week .TDS blames century link, century link says the its TDS. And TDS wants me to figure it out if I wanted to be in the phone business I would not need them. Had to leave without paying, waited several minutes, had other chores to do. Costs almost $3.00 to pay by phone, but its better than spending several minutes without even knowing whether or not anyone was at the desk.
Worst customer service I have experienced, agents not well trained. They give you wrong information. I had a very bad experience with a refund. First they told me that I would get my refund in 10 days, now theyre telling me that it would take 3 to 4 more weeks. Ridiculous!!
So the customer service is absolutely horrible meanwhile the technicians are absolutely wonderful they do a good job with install but the customer service you can answer what they ask you and have them repeat it back to you and still mess up on their side of things

TDS refuses to service our home despite their franchise agreement with the city of alamogordo. We have been in our home without Internet for weeks now with no response from the installation team. I work from home and have been purchasing data from a hotspot plan because TDS refuses to have someone come out and run a cable to our home. We are in a new construction home but all of our neighbors have internet. TDS poorly engineered the neighborhood and now we are paying the price by not having internet, potentially not for an additional 90 days.

Was paying $85 for 100mb internet only. They changed the prices of their internet packages but continued to charge me the $85 instead of the new $65 price for my 100mb service.....so basically for about 2yrs I was paying the price for 300mb service ($20 more per month) that I wasnt getting.I realized when browsing the website of the price descrepancy and called....was told that it was on me to notice if the prices changed and that they dont automatically update the accounts....or refund.......they overcharged me $480 and told me too bad....so I cancelled.... garbage business practice taking advantage of limited options...but once TBCI expands more into Alamogordo bye TDS hopefully

Customer service calls for Internet outages are routed to India for resolution because, of course, who and where better to have a thumb on the pulse of our Internet service here in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

Not happy with this service at all. They failed to tell me my payment was reversed after I received a confirmation email that the payment had been taken out. Shut off my internet service because of said payment that was reversed (even tho they said they would not be shutting off services due to COVID) and have yet to speak with a representative that is actually pleasant to talk with.

This is the worst wifi I have ever used.. they claim 100 mbps.. I am constantly running at 60-70 mbps.. they say I have the best router and to top it all off.. my wifi cuts out nightly usually late at night but sometimes it is around 8 pm.. sadly its the only internet service around where I live.. but I 100% do not recommend!
I have internet on base and it isn’t even near worth the price, it constantly lags and disconnects and I have horrible connection during online games. If this wasn’t the only “good” internet provider that can be used here, I would defiantly go with someone else
Internet has frequent dropouts, and instead of calling someone at the store in town, you are forced to go thru the automated system that takes 15 minutes to get an answer to something

If I could give zero stars I would. Been on hold for 1hr only for someone to finally answer and it’s just crackling on the line. One person transferred me to “someone who can help me” only to finally have someone pick up and say they can’t help me and transferred me to another line and no one answers. Finnally getting decent internet! I can have 3 TVs streaming at once, PS4, phones and laptop. I went and turned them all on just to see if I could. Gina was amazing with helping me get started! The guys who came and installed everything were great and even removed an old cable line for me. I feel like I just broke up with my ex when I canceled CenturyLink. Couldnt be happier.

We had such a great experience that I feel bad for not getting the names of the staff that helped us. It was a male and a female and it was on Columbus day. The female was our primary but the male provided assistance as well. They both were very nice and went out of their way to find the information needed to set us up with internet. We are staying at the FAMCAMP on HAFB and didnt know the physical address but they figured it out. These two are keepers!!!
Terrible quality internet. I pay for 100mb internet and most of the time don’t even get more than 10mb download speed. Customer service takes forever to get ahold of and they have done absolutely nothing to help me fix my internet speed. Terrible for gaming because it always disconnects. Using internet on a personal hotspot is more reliable.

The worst customer service that I’ve ever witnessed..... they say there is no late fees yet are charging them. They said they tried to call me but I have no phone log of any calls from them. And nothing but bad attitudes!!!
We are new to the Alamogordo area and we decided to get service through TDS. Our customer service representative was Gina and she was very helpful. Our house had never been wired with Cable so it was a big job to get the wires run from the road up to our house We live in the country. They got the lines trenched and were very cautious with how they ran it Then the guys came to install and they went above and beyond what they had to do to make sure all the lines into the house were run professionally and looked nice in the house. I am very impressed with their work. We havent actually used the services yet because they just finished up so I am writing the review on what we have experienced so far.
I was very pleased with this internet service provider. It was very important to me to have the best interest service in Alamogordo for my restaurant business. As I counted on having internet at all times for my daily sales! Whenever I had a question about my bill. They were very very nice to me and made sure I was happy with their service. The employees at the office seem to be very happy and customer care oriented. Thanks TDS, for providing excellent customer service to my business.
I would rate 0 times if possible, never had anything but problems with TDS, constant outages and never getting speeds that are paid for, nor anyone I know that has them for that matter. and today had internet issues at the house after work, called 3 times and all 3 people said we would fix it but since were closing in an hour noones gonna fix it and well probably fix it tomorrow. This company isn’t as horrible as most of the reviews are letting on. There has been worse service providers for the area and TDS isn’t in that category. Front desk staff makes up for a lot of the frustration. They’re willing to help out to the best of their abilities which is all anyone really asks for.
I called Rob 4 in the morning and he was able to circumnavigate my issue no problem. I really appreciated the help because Im a grad student and my wireless service was not up to par. He then instructed me to the control panel page where he deduced that the problem to my internet interruption was caused by multiple users on the same Channel. Rob directed me to a different channel and my services were restored and I was able to submit my assignments on time. Thanks Rob!
I was thinking of going with Century Link because of all the bad reviews but a friend in town recommended the service. It’s been a month and I have no regrets. My internet service works great! Not too sure about phone or cable service though.
Absolutely DISMAL speeds. I pay for 300mb U/D and receive less than half of the download speed, and around 11mb of upload speed. It runs half decent during the day, but as soon as 7pm rolls around on any given night, you can expect your bandwidth to drop nearly 95% of what you pay for. Due to poor server quality, it seems TDS cannot handle the demand their servers receive and in turn we all get incredibly slow, shaky and beyond unstable internet.PS: it took several minutes to upload this review, and likely several more to upload the edit.
Internet was not that great for the price..also has cable. Sometimes my bill would double & no one could tell me why...centurylink is better
If I could rate them lower I would, lately they have rested our internet manually themselves about 5 times a day and we dont even ask them to, and the internet stays down about 10 minutes each time and WE ONLY GET 60 MBPS OUT OF THE 600 MBPS WE ARE PAYING FORRR, 60 IS GOOD AND ALL BUT NO WHERE NEAR WHAT I AM PAYING FOR.
Poor service for the cost. Their customer service is terrible as well. Issues and complications caused on their end and they refuse to take responsibility. They are lucky that century link is their only competition or I would of switched providers a long time ago.
I had an appointment scheduled for today between 1 and 5 pm and nobody ever showed or called. I called at 430pm to see where they were and I was told I was next. An hour later I called again and was transferred to someone they said can see the location of the person who was going to come. After being on hold for 30 minutes the guy gets back on the phone and says he can’t reach them and he can’t see where the person is. I wish there were more options in This town!
On hold for an hour plus, then they closed. Not customer service, and when I went out to the truck to ask questions, another drove up and they both drove away. It was well before 5:00 and I will keep the call open.

Worst internet provider I have ever had the misfortune to be a customer of. The WiFi goes down 5-10 times an hour EVERY SINGLE DAY. I’m paying for their 300mbps internet speed but when I go to download something, it downloads at >20mbps. And to add insult to injury, every time I try to contact customer support, it’s some guy in a call center that says that they’re seeing no problem from their end. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
Frequently doesnt work including on Christmas day, so I guess people arent allowed to face time their families. If I pay for a service I fully expect it to work, I feel they should refund money equal to the time they have their systems down as its not fair to charge for a service that they refuse to provide.
Only had internet but it is always fast and it is affordable. The price wouldn’t be more then the amount they said I would pay. Some months it is cheaper. When I had a problem it was taken care right away and wasn’t charged for any of it. I love TDS.

Horrible internet, frequent outages. Customer service is not helpful at all, Ive been charged double for a month and a late fee, they said my payment never went through. I can never log into my account, I always receive an error saying I need to contact customer service.
Installation had to be rescheduled twice due to installer not making it on time. Was 30 minutes late to the final appointment. (Keep in mind the install times are scheduled within a2 hour window)The service goes down at least once a month. Getting resolution for these outages is completely impossible as their normal hold times are over 30 minutes.Making payments is a massive headache. If the payment isnt processed or if there is an error (happens frequently) they will shut off the service with no notification, and wait for the customer to call, navigate the miserable call tree, and wait the 30+ minute hold time.When the service is working its passable. The 100mps download is up to speed about 50% of the time, but expect bad streaming quality. The gaming experience is good.If there are other options for internet in your area I strongly reccomend you consider them before signing on with this company.
I have automatic payments set up, and there have been several times where the payment doesnt go through on their end and they still send a payment successful email. The only notification you get that the payment didnt go through is when they send you a delinquent notice and charge a late fee. I was able to get the fee waived once when this happened, after that they said they cant refund it. We had also switched plans when we moved being told our rate would be cheaper, but they didnt include any of the taxes or fees so our rate actually went up and weve been paying for phone service that we dont use. Thank goodness were moving to a real city in a few months and wont have to deal with this backwards company.
Live in Alamogordo New Mexico...horrible service. TDS Sucks! Ive never seen a company with such embarrassing reviews. How they are still in business is a mystery.
I was initially promised that if my new business were to fail and close there would be no early cancellation penalties, or I would not have started the service with TDS. After about 1 year the business did close and I was told Sorry, our policy changed AFTER you started your service with us. AFTER!!?? They then went into my account and took over $2000.00 in penalties. Do not give TDS access to your financial accounts and do not trust them to keep any kind of pre-contract promise. They will say whatever is necessary to get you to sign on.
I couldnt be happier with TDS. I very rarely lose service, and when I do it is back on quickly. Internet is very fast, phone service is reliable, and cable, when I had it, was always great. The customer service is truly superior. Big thumbs up!
The service USED to be good, but that all changed recently. I dont know if their network is having some major issues, but the internet cuts out consistently throughout the day. The speed has been fine, the price is kind of eh. We dont have enough options here in Alamogordo to compete. Waiting for TDS to be bought out by the next corporation. (They were baja previously)
Garbage service . Did not even show up to connect service. Made 6 phone calls the day of connection and still did not receive service. Decided to pay extra for somebody reliable.
I havent had ESPN in two weeks...its football season and no ESPN...are you kidding me? Then I talk to TDS help line to fix the issue, the guy is in Bend Oregon, or in Illinois, not here so they apparently cant search a database and know what issues are going on in our area... I have had a tech come out at least a dozen times for Internet running well below speeds or not working at all. We have put up with their poor services and products for far too long. I think TDS should acknowledge that their company slogan would be best emulated by the statement We best assist you in pissing money down the drain!

Im not normally someone to post reviews in general, but honestly Im fed up with this company. I leave in less than 4 MONTHS and it would still be worth it for me to switch to a different provider.Constant outages, and Im currently without internet, no huge deal right? Ill just call TDS customer service, oh, THE PHONE LINE IS DISCONNECTED, ok Ill try calling the local TDS store, DISCONNECTED, for curiosity sake, Ill try calling bill pay, ALSO DISCONNECTED. When youre own companys service goes down COMPLETELY thats very telling on their standard of quality, and Im done with it. Its every month something goes wrong.
Just got told today I havent been paying my bill even after I show them the transaction history from my bank if you dont live on base get anything else this place is terrible with terrible service and people I want to throw my router over the counter at them but theyre a monopoly for everyone living on base

I play world of warcraft. There I was, one hour before raid time. My guild leader had told me that I will be getting the head of onxyia tonight. Well, here I am 15 minutes after raid - onyxia is dead, and I have no head because I was never able to make it to raid because of TDS having yet another outage. My friends now think that i bailed on them and wasnt able to help them slay the dragon. TDS not only ruined my internet experience, they ruined my friendships.
The worst cable/internet/phone company ever! I am deeply sorry to have them as our provider. Since December 31st they have less channels because a termination of a contract with a second cable provider. TDS is asking their customers to call the cable business that blocked them to resolve the problem, but If you call, they will try to sell you their own services! Other thing: Customer service in Alamogordo is terrible, they have 2 women who are pretty bossy and sometimes even rude! They do not care about any problem you can have with the service, yes, will care if you do not pay on time!
I tried to call TDs for an issue and i was put on hold twice for so long the line just dropped on me.... and transfered so many times that I lost count finally after almost 2 hours trying to get a hold of someone to help me out. I finally was transferred to a guy name Zeke (sorry if I misspell it) and he went above and beyond to help me out in resolving my issue instead of making me schedule another appointment or transferring me to someone else/putting me on hold. To this guy you are awsome!!! Thank you so much!!
Internet is very slow, cable has not the channels I like to watch. Mediocre customer service in person, neither of the 2 women have the ability to use positive language they just dont care!
I used to be a TDS customer for four years. The internet was downright awful. The connection was so bad that my laptop couldnt connect to it. I had to use the ethernet cable every day. The channel lineup wasnt bad and I never had an issue with their customer service.
Never in my life have I taken the time to write a google review, but this place is atrocious. I had to move to a different dorm room in my building because of flooding, and they are charging me a transfer fee of 22$ for ME moving my box! On top of that, they had 5 accounts open under my name, could not tell me when my bill was due, and had my address wrong. All of this is continuing to happen despite me calling and going in multiple times, Im going to cancel their service, for the love of god do not choose this internet provider. I would give 0 stars if google would let me

Poor TV service
TDS is Utter garbage, prepare yourself to be overcharged due to their failure to get the correct billing address, oh and lets not forget that your network will be dropping every 30 minutes (if youre lucky). They obviously have no care in the world for their customers. Probably because its located in one of the dirtiest, crack-head ridden towns in New Mexico. Id rather spend my money on the next Nicholas Cage movie than on TDS network services.

This service is garbage. They charge you $70 and it rarely reaches the speeds they advertise, and thats if you even get internet for more than an hour at a time. If you like just giving money away and not getting what you are promised than this is the service for you.
Utter garbage. We pay for the fastest option and it lags beyond belief- we have updated our personal router and there are nights it can barely stream a show ... pathetic. I’ve lived in less populated areas and had great internet service. Someone told me there’s a possibility of Spectrum coming to our town - I sure hope so!

I have their 60 MB service and Ive no issues what so ever. During times of outage customer service was very helpful.

I made a huge mistake in my electronic bill-pay. I accidentally paid thousands instead of the regular monthly amount. I have been told repeatedly that I will have to wait 4-6 weeks for them to cut a check. Wha?
They are the only option in my area. My ping is usually between 30-100ms, depending on the server. The internet has worked all but 3 or 4 days a year so its been reliable.My main complaint is they charge a discounted rate for a year, then its difficult to retain that rate. I had spoken with numerous representatives who push me to ask for a better rate AFTER the year rate expires. I wish they were a more honest company that would charge a rate and stick to it without the tricks.Update 2018: they continued the discounted rate after moving in town. The new ping is about the same as before . Upgraded to 4 stars because its expensive for relatively slow internet in 2018.
