This UPS store is less busy than the other one on the main Alameda island. This store also has longer hours (open til 6pm)than both the main island and Bay Farm locations. Additionally, they do not cut off the notary services before closing I require notary services often and ship the notarized items for work via UPS often. This store has a very nice notary and is therefore 1-stop shopping for me. The notary is very pleasant and good. The store is also about to start doing Livescan finger-printing soon and that will be very convenient for me as well, also for work.As with all notary businesses, I recommend calling ahead to make sure the notary is in that day and is not out of some key supply before you go. I have encountered this over the years at several places...This shop does answer the phone promptly and as far as I can tell, they have a notary there everyday that they are open (Mon-Sat)
This is the second time I came here to get documents notarized. This is the one and ONLY UPS store that I will get important documents notarized at bc they know what they are doing.-good location, plenty of free parking-both times I have come here, I have received consistently excellent notary service-I always have a piece of mind when I’m getting documents notarized here because sometimes I’m not sure and they are able to help, if needed. I went to the other Alameda location (AVOID Marina Village location!!!!) and it was awful because they didn’t know what they were doing and made me second-guess myself on a document.-after we were done notarizing documents, Bharti was so awesome and asked if I needed to fax them right away. We didn’t but I appreciated that she asked me! Awesome service here.-Everyone at this location is professional, friendly, patient and nice.-they have document shredding services here-even though there are long lines, they move fast
Spent $189 to ship a package to a residence Chicago. 2 weeks later, after only 1 delivery attempt and no attempt at getting in touch with me or the recipient, the package was returned to the store. When I went to pick it up, it was in an entirely new box and a watch was missing. The owner refused to help saying it was UPS delivery fault. I started a claim with UPS Customer service but they needed it to come from the store. Owner finally submitted a claim. I only received a $100 refund.
They are very welcoming and very nice. Quick service and gives you all the information you need when you send a package! I definitely recommend that store! I shipped a tv to my daughter and the lady explain to me all kinds of services I could use and she was very nice and knew exactly what she was doing and very courteous and helpful!
It used to be a great store when Ava ran the UPS store. For example, I got a couch shipped by accident to the store instead of my home. She did not expect it, of course, and Ava called me to let me know about it. We were able to divert the drop off to the correct address.Today, I went to pick up my packages - 9 boxes - but was told by the owner that they came 2 days ago but which he refused to accept. So for whatever reason he had that day and for which he has not explained to me, his refusal to accept the boxes made me lose them. These are 20x20x20 boxes, and now they are missing!I am angry that this happened, and the worst part was that the owner did not contact me about the boxes at all. I had to find out the hard way - basically by being told that theyve been refused 2 days later!
Youll get bad attitude from the lady working there and a fake apology from management.
This location is very helpful! I don’t have a printer at home, I needed my labels printed out. The guy at the counter was able to assist me with that and took care of my packaging needs. I will definitely bring my business to them.
Don’t come here for getting notarized. The person who notarizes doesn’t know what he’s doing. Refused to notarize a valid unexpired document because it was dated from 2018- 2021.Also refused to notarize a utility bill because “He thinks” he shouldn’t have to sign on a utility bill.Wonder how people get licensed without any education.
Love this UPS Store. The new owners are friendly, they finally provide receipts and I even sent them a large booklet print job which they turned around same day for me. Finally a good shipping & printing option in Alameda.
Not worth a review. This is the 2nd time I have had a ups drop off and my small box needed to be sealed. $2 charge for 20 inches of tape. No thank you. I have not ever had any other UPS store suggest this. UPS off Pardee lane is my go to or the UPS store on Bay Farm. I will not be back to this Alameda location.

This UPS local store doesnt give out pickup receipts. I dropped off two items in different days in the past in this location, both items were lost. I checked the process of the refund and it stated the items that were lost never got scanned. I had to file a claim with Amazon. My assumption for the loss was they may tend to steal items from customers. Other UPS local stores never hesitated to give out pickup receipts.
$4.00 charge just to print one page. The owner is wording it nicely.

Really this would be zero star review. The owner doesnt allow their asscociates to print receipts when you drop off amazon items. There are 3 locations in Alameda, this is the only location that does this. Who would want to return items, especially expensive ones without a receipt indicating that the item is now in UPS possession? Terrible customer service and bad business. I am choosing to never do business at this location again and simply drive to a different one.
They will not give you a receipt when you drop off a package because they “don’t have to”. But they promise ups will come get it and everything will be fine. Seems ridiculous and not worth the risk. I’m sure if the package gets lost they also won’t “have to” help you. I will be avoiding this store in the future. You should, too.

The people at the store really nice! I had to send a package back to Amazon via UPS and went super early in order to drop it off. As soon as they saw me try the door they came over and took my package from me right away (even though they were technically still closed). Saved me time and was much appreciated!
This location refuses to give pickup receipts. They said they are not obligated to. Now, one of the packages has gone missing and UPS says they havent received it! I wonder why they dont want to issue receipts!Wont take packages here again.

I attempted to get some documents notarized. It was only after I unloaded both of my 8 month old twins from the car to realize that the store was not open. It was 10am and it was supposed to be open at 830am. I checked in with the AT&T store next door- apparently theyre never open on time. Call before trying to come here.
That old man provides no kind of good services. Especially with that pejorative attitude.. JEEESUS. Youll know who I am referring to when you realize that he looks like a Chinese version of The Grinch with a bowl-cut. In his 60s and does an appalling job with customer service. GET RID OF HIM! We sure do miss you, Ava.
I came here around 3:00 pm on a Wednesday to get a return label and the lady that helped me was very nice and helpful. Made my transaction super fast and easy. Great costumer service. Two thumbs up 👍 🖒

If I could give this place and UPS 0 stars, I would. The people that work there are not helpful and shipping anything via UPS is just ultra expensive; a total rip-off. Just do yourself a favor and use USPS.

First off - I am not a fan of UPS. Its very difficult for me to give them anything more than 1 star for any reason. However, I am compelled to give them 5 stars because of one reason: Alex. We had some furniture items to return to Amazon and UPS failed to pick them up on multiple occasions so we took them to the UPS store where we ran into Alex.He was friendly and extremely helpful while working with us. He talked to Amazon customer service on the phone to get the labels correct and helped us get everything set up to return. Most impressively he did this while simultaneously handling and serving a dozen or so customers that came in while he was dealing with our transaction.Even though he was multitasking we never felt neglected and he effortlessly kept everyone happy and moving along with their business. He was so smooth I doubt the other customers were even aware that he was helping us at the same time.He is a rare talent and The UPS store is lucky to have him.
I dropped off packages to return things to Amazon. The two attendants were busy and told me to just leave them on a pile they had going. It is Monday morning and it seems they werent scanned in. They better NOT have stolen/lost them. I will be filing a police report if they do not process this return ASAP.
I came here to return an amazon item and they said that I have to come some other day cuz they aren’t taking returns anymore. Well if that’s the case they should have updated that on the website before people are driving miles to come here
Now I know why the reviews of this place are so bad. I needed to send a box back to Amazon. Needed One piece of tape to close the box. The clerk wanted to charge me one dollar for that saying they have a packaging fee of one dollar is that OK? I said no that’s not OK every other store has never charge me a dollar for a piece of tape. He said he was sorry but he couldn’t charge me a dollar. So I left! That’s just ridiculous to me. And terrible customer service. They will not have my business.
Alex (the new manager) is great. He’s really helpful and an overall nice guy. Definitely recommend this store over some of the other ones in the area

My experiences here have been very good. Very nice, friendly people who are helpful concerning my packaging questions. There can be a line at busy periods, but overall experiences have been great.
I had to send important documents to a PO box, so it had to be sent via USPS. When I first sent, the person who handled this wasnt there, so the clerk took the info, payment, and have me a receipt - and said the USPS guy would email me tracking after 4pm that day when he came in. No email. I called the following week and again was told that person wasnt there - they took a message for him to call me - no call and no email. Finally, I was able to come back to the store today and was helped by a young man named Alex, who said the person who was supposed to email me again wasnt there. All 3 people who helped me seemed to sigh/groan at the mention of this employee who handles the USPS, like hes a constant headache.However, Im writing a good review because Alex was so helpful. I watched him assist multiple people ahead of me - multiple people at a time - being courteous and quick. He got me my tracking number, and it turns out my package was delivered. Whatever Alexs position is, give him a promotion and a raise!
I shipped a package from here and they lost it for 2 weeks, then it mysteriously reappeared in their store after daily visits and phone calls. Would not use again .

I have been dealing with them about a lost package with them for two months. I’m not sure if Ava is the owner or a manger but she is useless . She has promised many times to call me and keep me posted about what’s going on . Yet she doesn’t keep her promise. Then she pawns it’s off on Alex which then he does the same thing . Here we are two months into the process and no result yet after their fake promises .
I brought a couple of boxes of china and glassware for them to repackage and ship Saturday morning. I was told that the manager has to provide an estimate and that she was expected shortly. I returned late Monday afternoon as I had not heard from the store. I was told that nothing was done as the manager hadnt come in since I dropped off the boxes Saturday morning. As they did not seem interested in my business, I took the boxes back and went elsewhere. Staff is pretty indifferent and management obviously lacking.
I wish I acquired the name of the young gentleman that assisted me on Feb. 6th. Excellent customer service. Tremendously helpful.

Place is supposed to open at 8:30 am but no one was there. Apparently, this is not a exception. Save yourself the time and just go the UPS store on the west side of the island. They open on time and have very professional and friendly service.

Im a big shopper on Amazon prime. I order just about everything from there, well, that was until I moved to Oakland. I have never received such dismal service from UPS. Their drivers continually lack to ring a bell or knock on my door when they come by to make a delivery. I work from home, so Im nearly always in. But despite complaining and calling UPS costumer service about this, they wont do anything about it. The drivers dont even leave me a note saying that Ive missed my delivery since I was (inside my home).I would like to continue to buy things from Amazon but actually getting the items is so hard that I fear I may altogether stop. I dont have this problem with FedEX or the post office, maybe there is a way to only get prime deliveries through them.....
I mailed a small bubble envelope from there on Thursday. I put my moms return address on it. It cost $3 and change. Today, my mom sends me a pic of the envelope, WITHOUT POSTAGE, marked RTS (return to sender).WHAT. THE. HELL, UPS STORE?

After paying nearly $200 for a computer to get shipped up to school, they sent it to the wrong address, returned it, sent it again, taking about 2 and a half weeks and several ignored calls to fix. When I went through the BBB to try and get a response from them, they said they would refund the shipping cost, around $125, and after more than a month I dont think its going to get here.I called back today and the number on their Google page is incorrect. This is what happens when you try to get decent service from a terrible company.
Despite the politeness of the manager, the wait time is ridiculously long and they seem perpetually understaffed. Id rather risk my packages being stolen off my porch than deal with the mess here.

Ive posted package from here twice and both times the package was misplaced in the bomb site of the store and not sent. They promise to call with progress but never do. Last straw was forgetting to put tracking on my taxes which I paid extra for then losing the package. No idea if they were sent at all so having to redo and resend before deadline. Awful awful awful.
This place says they open at 9:00am on Saturday. Its 9:20 and they are still not open. Tried looking for a number to call management but couldnt find one. This is the 2nd Saturday in a row that i come and they are closed during the stated start times.

Unreliable. The store is frequently closed during open hours. It’s 11am on a Saturday and the store is closed. It was supposed to open at 9am. This happened last time I tried to drop a package here.
