This place is excellent! Honest, Fair, and Efficient!! Was having some transmission slipping and thought I needed to have my transmission serviced. I scheduled that, but then they discussed with me in person that the issue was actually just a minor electrical sensor malfunctioning. They fixed that and topped off my coolant for me in about an hour and a very reasonable price! There is a reason this place has been around for as long as it has! My dad uses them, his dad used them, and now I will continue to use them! Thanks!!!

Richards Garage is the single most unscrupulous crooked repair shop I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I brought my Buick Roadmaster with Corvette LT-1 motor in for transmission work, and they said I needed to have the entire transmission rebuilt. OK, fine. 2 grand later and after only a few hundred miles there was transmission fluid pouring out all over my friends driveway (which I had to clean up). I brought it back in and they said the tech that worked on my car put the seals in wrong or forgot one entirely. Back on the road after only a couple of months (less than 3,000 miles), I was driving an expensive load to Lorain, and half way there couldnt get out of first gear on the highway. I had to drive the rest of the way to Lorain in first gear, and when I called them to get it towed, the secretary said they wouldnt pay for the tow back from Lorain. So, I drove the car back all the way in first gear again, and they paid for the tow from my house. He promised to fix the transmission, and call me when it was done. They never called and now since its been so long without so much as a phone call they had my car towed away so I cant even get the scrap value for the car. Im out 2 grand for the transmission, and 3 grand for the car, and now owe the tow place $400. Never, ever use this garage. They will steal your money and maybe even your car.

I explained what my truck was used for and rather than letting me put expensive parts in the transmission that I really didnt need they did the rebuild and and made some adjustments to the shift points that really made a difference in the way my Dodge Cummins drives. From the reception desk to the mechanics the experience was great.

Had Richards diagnose my transmission and they quoted me over $3,000 for a new one that they said Id be needing. On a hunch I took my vehicle for another opinion at Jim and Sons and they thoroughly inspected the transmission only to find that it didnt need rebuilt or replaced, it just needed a new part for $750. Not sure how Richards didnt see this, but Im thankful for Jims saving me thousands of dollars. Everyone keep this in mind when youre dealing with transmission work.

Ive been taking my vehicles to Richards for years now. Theyve replaced 2 (different) transmissions for me as well as tons of other work. I wouldnt trust anyone else with my vehicles. Excellent, timely, fair and honest work every time. I cant recommend them highly enough.

I recently took my wifes car for an oil change service, brake work, and other items. They did everything quickly, had it back before the end of the day. Plus the cost was more than reasonable. Will be taking my car next.

They have terrible customer service. The 2 times I have been there they never once contacted me with any information or process on my vehicals. One time it was there for 2 weeks and I never once heard from them. I had to call them everytime. That being said they did good work at a good price.

There were issues with my transmission related to manufactured replacement parts they used and they stood by their work and solved the problem. I would highly recommend them based on their integrity alone. I expected the run around and got customer satisfaction in return.

My husband & I have used this excellent establishment for years. They are very honest, prompt & we have never had any problems with their work. It is upsetting to me to read the few negative reviews....this company absolutely stands by their work. Just a phone call could have corrected any problems.

My 03 Chevy Silverado would not start, called them and asked if the had a way to tow it over there. They said yes they did! I explained that I only lived a Half a mile away and asked how much it would be I was told that it would be no more than 50.00 dollars!! So I had it towed over there i explained that it was a moisture issue and it needed a new cap and rotor! Well it sat there for three weeks without a phone call, I called them several times. At one point i was told that it was next in line, a week later i called on a Monday and was told they were short a mechanic and I should hear something no later than friday!!! Friday came still had not heard anything called them at 3.00pm and I was told it started right up! I explained to them that it would because it had time for the moisture to dry!! I asked them to please replace the cap, rotor and spark plugs!! I was told that they did not have time to the work on my pick up!!! I was told that they were 2 months behind and to take it else where! My 2 questions are why would you have me tow it to you, and charge me 80.00 dollars not 50.00 for the tow, if you were not going to do the work! And how could you be two months behind if you are going to be closed the whole week of the fourth of July! After this experience I would not take anything to this shop, because if its something they dont feel like doing, they will just waste your time and money!!! Stay away!!!

Ive used this transmission service company both as shop owner & privately for all my personal vehicles ! Ive always found their work done very reasonable, professionally & done at very affordable rate ! If you are looking for transmission rebuild or repaired service you should come to the very best, Richards Garage ! They are the last of the working mans friends business to get honest work done right the first time every time ! Nothing fancy about this company, just hard working people trying earn a living like the rest of us in any economy !

Very honest reasonable and helpful. Walking in as a woman I have had some places try to hussel you. They are never like that they are so wonderful.

Had the transmission in my 2003 Honda Accord replaced there a year and a half ago. Everyone there is friendly and courteous. Only place Ill go to for transmission work from now on

No frills shop that is timely and trustworthy - 2x we were thinking wed have to really break the bank and they came back w a zero bill saying there was no need for a fix etc. were impressed with their integrity!

Had a power steering leak took my vehicle in to have it looked at and repaired they told me the line was leaking gave them the ok to fix it....it is still leaking called them and they told me to drop it off they would get to it Monday or Tuesday and that it could be something else leaking apparently they dont do the job right the first time i took it in for this leak and i still have the same leak half assed work

They said they dont repair truck transmissions anymore, so only cars.
