I initially received a quote of 90 minutes for a battery jump. At the two and 1/2 hour no call no show point I called. Kept getting estimates of 20 minutes, 25 minutes... no one showed up and no one even bothered to call.My insurance company tried to call since we have roadside assistance. They told them 15 minutes and then didnt answer the phone when they called back after almost 30.I know companies are experiencing hiring issues - whether thats an issue at this one i have no idea. At the end of the day people depend on tow trucks. I completely understand that delays happen but this long, with no communication, is unacceptable. If you need to get to work, or anywhere important, I would highly suggest another company.
The absolute worst service ever!!! A very unprofessional rude person hung up on me when I asked him why he was so late...Being in the insurance business this was not the first time Ive heard how horrible this place is!! Stay clear of the rude and smart A** people at this place...
He was very prompt with timing. Another company refused to tow my car because of the steering wheel being locked, hence we lost the only key to the Volvo, and he from Highland handled it like a champ. Definitely recommend using this company again. I also told my insurance company to not send the other company since they couldnt do something so easy
Ive never seen a harder working individual than Jim Irace,.! Hes fair, and honest & treats you like youre part of the family.!!Thank you Jim
My insurance set me up through this company. They never showed up, and stated that they had the wrong location information when it was clearly verified via message and over the phone. I rcvd not notification they werent assisting me or my car, they just didnt show up. When I called to ask about why my car wasnt picked up, I was told it was bc of my insurance company giving the wrong address. I wouldnt recommend to anyone.
I was riding my bike and a Highland Towing truck passed me within a foot, well under the 3 feet required by law.
Ben towed my SUV today from tallmadge to canton. He was FANTASTIC! Best service ever. I highly recommend this company!
Kevin was my driver. He was the quickest and most polite man Ive had yet. Thank you somuch for your super fast and efficient service. Was also a great guy to talk to. Godblesss you sir
I drive a 2018 Tacoma and was deeply stuck in mud back by a ravine in my yard. Randy from this company arrived here very promptly. He surmised the situation, and was extremely cautious with vehicle. He pulled truck out with no difficulty! I will ALWAYS recommend Randy with Highland Towing for the most professional service I have ever received. Your vehicle is your lifeline, and I am MOST grateful for Randy pulling me out !
Very good service, ADOLPH did an excellent job!
Well, my elderly parents tried to use their towing service but Randy didn’t know how to get their Equinox in neutral since it wouldn’t start. Turns out you just hold the start button for 5 seconds. It’s actually in the owner’s manual. More importantly, he didn’t have a mask, standing rt beside my dad. When I commented on it he became very defensive and started packing up his gear saying, “ok, well you all have a nice day.” He was defensive, sarcastic, and rude. Would not recommend.
I called and was told the driver would be here in 1 hour. I was also told the driver would call me when he was 10 minutes away. So I waited 1 hour and 20 minutes and still no call. I planned around that schedule and was let down. I had to cancel the service I ordered because it did not meet the expectations I was reassured of. Also the pricing that I was told is 60 dollars for the hookup and then 4 dollars a mile. Just had a mediocre experience wouldnt reccomend.
Only giving them 1 star because I have to. Ive been waiting in a disables vehicle for over 2 hrs for a tow. The streets are clear and the weather is not too bad for a Dec. day in Ohio. I would not reccomend this company to anyone ever.Since you have decided to respond I thought I should let everyone know that I had to call back only to be told that I was next in line and it should be another 15 to 20 minutes and it actually turned into 30 to 45 minutes. In the end from start to finish since the tow truck driver got lost this ordeal ended up being around 3 hours.
As always, honest and helpful. This time they checked out a car I wanted to buy (and did). They got me in right away, and did a total check. A great group of guys I trust.
Helped pinpoint my exact location and showed up within an hour. Deonte helped change my flat tire - he was quick, personable, and efficient.Highland Towing will be my go-to if I need help in this area.
Great experience for the last 17 years. Quick response for towing. They even stopped what they were doing to come assist me with a tow recently at 11pm so that I could make it to work. Highly recommended for auto repair and towing. Jim and the employees here have treated me with respect and helped in assisting any questions I had. When the tow driver was running a few minutes behind, he made initial contact with me and called with updates of their location.
Had to call AAA the other other day because my car broke down and they sent Highland Towing. AAA said 45 min to an hour and Randy made it there in 20 min. He was amazing. So polite and helpful. Ive had some bad experiences with tow truck companies, but this was not one of them! I highly recommend them! Thank you so much Randy for being so helpful and kind and accommodating. You guys rock!!
Very helpful, put spare on when wife had a flat and I was out of town. Would absolutely recommend!
Had a flat... they got a new tire, mounted it on the car and properly stowed my spare back in the trunk. Theyve always taken good care if me there no matter what the problem Ive had with my cars!
Always helpful and reasonably priced and the gas station has 15 different kinds of poptarts!
I have used these guys a number of times, always great, but this last time was the best. Helped a friend get a car out of a ditch. The driver came out after hours, tool care of the situation and was nothing short of polite even after falling in the muddy area where the car was stuck. I will request these guys from roadside assistance. Plus they can take your car to a pretty good group of mechanics!! Above and beyond. Thank you again.
STEER CLEAR - These folks charged me for a tow that was fully covered by AAA and I had to get my money back from AAA directly. This is after AAA directly informed them that I was fully covered! They also damaged my car when loading onto the truck. By the way, the tow was dispatched directly by AAA.
Tell your driver in the truck missing a headlight to get off of their damn phone, pay attention, and try to actually reach the speed limit.
These guys are GREAT! They have bailed me out several times. I work nearby, and they have fixed problems pretty much on the spot when they arise. I walk over to them, hand them the key, tell them where the car is, and it gets done IMMEDIATELY. Are they warm and fuzzy? What auto repair shop is. I dont care. I like that they GET THE JOB DONE. In fact, my car is in their hand as I type this. Power steering failed as I pulled into my office parking lot. Walked over. Handed them the key. Told them where it was - and within minutes, they came and got it.
Excellent service
WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!Very poor service, if thats what they wish to call their actions. The guy called me up to ask about my key. I let him know I had it on me. He then asked me if I could bring him the key, to which I said he was picking up my only mode of transportation and that I had a sick child at home. He said he would call my roadside assistance and would call me back if there were any problems. He then abruptly hung up. 3 1/2 hours later, I was informed by my friends that my car was STILL sitting outside. I called the towing company and was told I had said I would be giving him the key in 5 mins. After waiting, they decided to move on without informing me. The supervisor went in to say that their were 2 different stories being told and he couldnt get in the middle of it.Heres my rhetorical question: which of us had more to gain by lying? Its clear you knew what had happened and did nothing to correct it. This points to an obvious lack of respect you display for customers. Im astounded this place sees business, let alone hold such a high avg rating of 2.7 stars. I will be making sure that word gets round, but clearly your reputation proceeds my review.
I had an 11,000lb truck towed by these guys and they are skilled and professional, and their equipment is clean and in good shape. The driver took extra time to back my truck into my garage so I didnt have to work on it out in the snow. I have nothing but good things to say and their prices are very fair.
My 2001 Marquis ball joint broke. I called AAA and they said within the hour. Wrong. So I called Highland towing. They were there in less than 20 minutes. The operator, Randy was very patient. The car was almost impossible to get on a flatbed without damaging it. Or even get in on a flatbed period. But Randy has ingenuity skills beyond the norm. Not only did he get it on and to my home, but did it without damaging it. My hat is off to him! Thank you Randy
Driver Brad Davis picked up me and my disabled vehicle on the side of I-77 on 5/17/17. He loaded the vehicle carefully, lashed it correctly and carried me and the vehicle to the service shop in Cuyahoga Falls. He was pleasant, helpful and did all that was expected. My thanks!
Nice guyFast! Didnt smoke! Very respectful! This was good in my bookPrice could be better
Recently I got into a horrible car accident and called called for a tow. I didnt know where else to take it and the owner said it was okay to leave it on his lot while I worked some money arrangements. Car was a total scrap. After a few days the owner called and said he found a car for me real cheep, he didnt even charge for the tow or leaving my mess of a car there over night! Great guy! How many repair shops know you by your first name when you walk in? He always has a huge smile on and makes working with cars a breeze highly recommend!
They did a great job in helping me get towed due to burned out clutch ( thx Charles ) and then towed again to transfer the car from one repair shop to another. Thank you .....:)
Randy from Highland Towing is the best Tow Truck driver Ever. The most professional and polite driver I have ever come in contact with. If you need a tow in Akron, Ohio call Highland Towing the best in Akron!!!!!!!! period
Thank you to Sean, for getting his flatbed truck up my residential driveway, to get one of my customers vehicles in my personal garage. Great driver, very friendly he even helped me push it around so i could close the door, employees like this make companies great will be calling in the future.
Good people, decent pricing, great mechanics and their towing services are excellent.
Had our car towed and they left the keys in the car unlocked, needles to say the keys were then stolen. Had it not been for the car being dead the car itself would have been stolen.
Overbilled me severely, would not recommend, going to charge back. I got multiple quotes in the area that all lined up with what it should have been, but they decided to tack on an extra 13 miles.
They did the electrical work on my car. The first time I tried to wash it, it shorted out my security system because of exposed wires. Highly over priced and the people there are rude and will swindle you out of every cent they can. I recommend letting trained monkeys fix it instead.
Our whole car is missing!! On July 23rd 2018 they were suppose to tow our car to a repair shop. It was late and the company said we didn’t need to be there. Next morning car was gone and car is not at the shop! The company said they never came out .... the car wouldn’t start so it was obviously towed!!! The police are now involved!!!
Ive worked for highland towing for about 6 months now and in that little bit of time I can assure that James Irace has never treated any customer badly nor has he ever said hed do something he couldnt. This man is always busy fixing cars, treating customers with the upmost respect, and employs the best people in their field of work! Most owners just sit back and do nothing but depend on their employees...not Mr. Irace. Hes there every single day at 7 A.M. sharp! These reviews are horribly bitter and they dont understand how difficult it can be for one man and a team of 10 to run a business that covers many areas! They expect Us tow truck drivers to be there in like 10 minutes and at their command. It doesnt work like that and it NEVER has. No towing company does! Irace Automotive, Highland Towing, and our Marathon station deserve much more appreciation than this!
My roadside assistance tried using them to tow my broke down truck. Provider said it would be picked up by 9:30, the initial call was made at 7:45 and the app the provider sent me said Order Accepted and gave the towing company name and phone number and at 10:45 they still hadnt showed, roadside assistance and myself both tried calling and they didnt answer the phone. Now they have to try and find another company, the initial request was at 7:45. Sorry way to run a business. Wont be using them ever again.
This company is the best around when i hit a pot hole and popped my tire i called them they came right out tried, to put spare on but the holder in trunk was rusted and they coulnt get it out so Randy the tow guy towed me home now mind u freezing his butt off in the middle of winter he didnt complain or anything he took i like champ. This guy needs a raise tomangement team. I will call them whenever i need towed again and ask for Randy
Sucks balls. Had a friend make the call as they are 3 minutes away from her car. They stated that they will come out in 30 minutes and that time passed. We called again and we were told they will be there asap. Stood outside waiting 15 mins. Nada. Totally not paying for their service.
I waited on the side of a very busy freeway entrance ramp with my car completely disabled and partially blocking the road for almost FOUR HOURS. When they finally arrived with a tow truck, the worker rudely said he would not tow the car because he had the wrong kind of truck despite the fact that we described in detail, what was wrong with the car. He also provided inconsistent information on why it took him so long to get there, when we were told we would be helped within the hour. The driver then lied to AAA saying that we had refused to sign a waiver, when really HE refused to tow the car. We called our insurance company, and a tow truck arrived from another company in less than an hour. The driver arrived with the exact same truck, and towed the car with no problems. He even put the car in our garage so it could be repaired later. After the trauma of almost losing my life, and being left in harms way with a dying cell phone, no food or water, exposure to the sun and in danger of fast moving traffic, I really didnt need a rude, inconsiderate tow truck driver to blatantly refuse to help us, and try to blame the incident on us. I wouldnt recommend these scumbags to my worst enemy.
My car broke down on easter and had to get it towed about 10 miles back to my house. Called my insurance company, paid them, and they sent these guys out. Long story short, they claimed I had never paid my bill and that they would need to charge me. Get the car back to the house and call my insurance company who then gets ahold of highland towing, and they say they wont be charging my card. Look at my statement today and sure enough they ran my card. This place has some sketchy buisness practices, at best.
Nobody answer the phone
Needed hub bearings all the way around, not only were the mechanics polite, but when I told the owner had no ride home, they gave me a ride, and picked me up the next morning! The price was right, (even better then some of the quotes I had gotten from other places) and was done quickly. NOW THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I havent had a problem since, but if I do I know who Im calling. ive read some of the reviews on here, and the negative ones truly surprise me. they might be rough around the edges, but over all they are the best mechanic shop ive ever been too.
DO NOT GO HERE!!! These guys have terrible customer service, terrible attitudes. I was 5 minutes down the street with a flat tire and it took them over an hour to come get me. Upon arrival the tow driver tries to haggle with me on my choice of Tire service, telling me I should go with their guys when I had a warranty for a brand new tire at my choice of service. If Ive been waiting over an HOUR for service dont show up and waste my time by trying to dissuade me from my choice of tire services. Finally, Id like to add they charged me $77 to tow my car 2 miles. A rip off with terrible customer service.
My progressive assigned them to me at 221am. Its now 417am and still no tow truck. Tried to call their number and goes straight to a voicemail that is not the number I called. I assume they are using call forwarding to a cell that is turned off. Going to call progressive back and see if they can assign another company
Good hard-working honest people.
Great mechanic defiantly recommend DJ
Terrible company!!! Had my brand new car towed and the driver scraped my front end against the ground then had no idea how to get my car off of the tow truck so then had to call his boss to ask him how he should get it off of the truck without damaging it anymore and now they are saying they didnt do it so Im taking them to court !!! Oh and not to mention he was more than an hour late of the time he said he would be at my car..
Quoted one amount, and almost doubled it upon delivery. Not professional and doesnt even have a card reader.
Have always found them to be helpful and honest. Whenever we have auto issues we are sure to call them.
This place is a total rip off they take parts from one costumers car and sell it as new and then charge the customer they stole part from for new part they cut up cars that ppl cant pay on they pop holes and put nails in tires so they can charge for tire plug Jim himself puts regular gas in the premium holding tank to make more money they spray paint or clean parts to make look new any thing else u can think of to get ripped off they do however Bob and the towing part are awesome
I called AAA needed a tow. This is the company that cant find the ONE rest stop on I77 south between 271 and rt 18. Been waiting 3.5 hrs.
Waited more than 2 hours and eventually had to cancel
I had to call them 4 times to show up after booking the appointment for towing, it seemed like they did not have their act together. On top of that they charged me over $150.00 for towing the car 22 miles. Never again..........Thank God that my insurance is going to cover it, but still 150 Dollars is a lot of money for 22 miles...
Terrible experience. They did not tell us what they were doing or how much it would cost. Refused to give us the keys until we paid. Rude.
Great guys and wonderful service!
Good people
Terrible service. Huge Rip-off.
They stole my car....
