Opens at 8am but had to stand outside until almost 8:30am for them to open the door, after seeing them turn the lights on they took so long to open the door I ended up having to leave, and never got the things I needed smh.

Mr Jay is an exceptional employee. Always has a smile and very respectful every visit!

I am a frequent flyer @a Dollar general store. Normally Im able to find what Im looking for non-food products@a somewhat lower price. But its more convenient if Im only needing something quick,closer than a larger chain.

It is what it is. A cheap store full of cheaply made stuff. When youre broke it serves its purpose. Beyond that not much to say. Its neither great nor bad.

This one is okay not the cleanest one in town.

Most items are a great price of $2 however some are cheaper else were.

Love this store, the convenience of how close it is to my house, I go to this store atleast 1 to 2 times a day. Most of the employees are great, helpful and friendly but theres one in desperate need of an attitude adjustment. I forget his name but has long hair and a funny voice.

The guy that runs this store now is incredible. He (with the help of his crew) turned the worst store in Abilene into one of the best stores in Texas.Everything is stocked. Everything is organized. Everything is well managed and everybody is well tempered. I have NO IDEA how he did it.Dollar General should send this crew to troubled locations to turn things around. It took this guy 1 year to fix this location bit I bet he could do it in 8 months if he had to.

There was only one person working. A guy with glasses and long hair. Didnt seem stressed was very sweet and i live in the Southside so i come to this one becuz he is so nice and sweet. He needs to b promoted!! He handled the whole store and not one person came out to help!! Someone needs to come and see how hard this gentleman works!!

I like the Dollar General a lot more than I do Family Dollar! Dollar General seems to carry items that for the price look a lot nicer better quality. I also like their stores themselves better over Family Dollar because they usually keep up with their stock better whereas Family Dollar has gotten so behind on Stocking its almost impossible to walk down an aisle to find something because of the congestion of boxes stacked! So I much prefer Dollar General!

This is a store that we visit often! If it werent for a Dollar General I dont know where I would get my soda pops!.. LOL.. seriously though, Dollar General is one of the nicest establishments that we have here in Merkel Texas. The staff is very friendly and professional and if you have problems finding anything they are more than happy to point you in the right direction. We visit the establishment quite a bit. Yall should give it a try also! You wont regret it!..

The store is not in the best part of town but few are. It was an unorganized mess and the lines were long at checkout. I would advise you wait and go to another part of town to visit a larger store such as Walmart or Target. At least there you can go to Self Checkout.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Every SINGLE time I go in this store there is ONE person cashing out people and the line is always FOREVER long. Will not go back. The guy that works with glasses and long hair seems to get overwhelmed and sucks at his job.

It was an ok place in a desolate location. Some deals, some products are way over priced. Small shopping lanes. Horrible layout. The staff is 50/50 helpful and can be rude obnoxious and inconsiderate. Given the likes of those who come in I understand. But still cant pre-judge customers.

Its the DG, revolving door staff, in one day, out the next, great one day, torture the next... Prices aint great - use caution, watch labels, DONT ASK TO PEE - Might get your head ate off by a demon.
