The SD unemployment department staff will lie to you over and over when questioning about you unemployment claim status. Its been 3 months plus And i’m not able to get a honest answer about my claim status. This is the same issue when my daughter tries to get info on her claim status.I reopened my claim in early Aug 2020 (having approx 5000-6000.00 remaining in my unemployment benefit bank). And to date I’m either told its under review or its being processed each time i contact the dept.I’ve contacted the SD governors office and I’ve not gotten anywheres with them Except they say we’ve contacted sd unemployment dept and are waiting for a return call..... well this has gone on three weeks now.My daughter and myself havent received any notifications by their electronic correspondence, by mail, by phone and or nor a email!!My daughter is a college student, whom has always worked (Waitress at olive garden, buffalo wild wings & sterlings) during college. Due to covid her and many of her co workers where asked that they not work as customers are much less now due to the covid restrictions.She received approx 4 checks and then they stopped sending without any explanation- she does file the wkly benefit with two employment contacts as i do.Now they say shes not getting wkly benefits as shes in college and has limited work schedule.She works approx 20-30 hrs per week as she always has during college. She called back and they will not give a straight answer again. She still has plenty of employment benefit dollars in her acct to be paid for another 20-22 weeks.Ive never seen such stuff!!!My first claim during all of the Covid overwhelming claims i rec’d updates and atarted receiving my wkly benefits within 2 monthsThey staff will Consistently lie and mislead you about your claim status, and you are approved to rec wkly benefits

I can never get ahold of anyone, even months later I have yet to talk to or get an email response.
