I fully agree with the review below. If I could give 0 stars I would. People are not perfect, but as someone who works with people everyday in customer service - this was absolutely horrible. David was nothing but unresponsive and NOT helpful. I had an income tax nightmare, and needed to file an amendment for the state of Delaware (I worked there for the summer). I usually filed my taxes on turbotax, which I did and did it terribly wrong. I do not understand taxes and wanted to fix this so my boyfriend recommended David as he does their family taxes. I reached out to David in May 20th. I sent David 11 emails in the course of 3 months asking when he would be finished.. Turns out by August he tells me he was missing one of my W-2s which i sent back in May. I am now getting letters from Delaware to pay my outstanding balance and getting late fees. I had to TEXT him for him to answer now that I was getting letters from Delaware because at this point he wasnt even replying to me. He tells me to call Delaware and ask for a 30 day extension, and I did. They told me they could not do this, so I told David. Within a DAY he sent me my amendment.. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? August 21st I reviewed and signed. Told me not to worry he will send it in for me. Good, great, phew this is over. WRONG. Another letter from Delaware with another late fee. This is September 2nd. Emailed and texted David to confirm he sent them for me, no answer. I had to call. He claims he sent them in and could be sitting on someones desk or something - okay ill buy it. Give it some time - mail can be tricky. September 17th comes - they are sending me to US Treasury and still have not gotten my amendment. Texted David, no answer. I just had to pay the balance at this point and can longer put any faith in him. I wasted $125 dollars on TOP of my outstanding bill for Delaware that I should have just paid in the first place and sent the amendment myself. Please do not waste your time, energy, stress, and money here. He did give an ounce of care when all I was asking was for help - this is his JOB and is terrible at it.

I have been getting my taxes done by David, at Accounting Services of York, for over ten years. In that time, David and his team have gone above and beyond for my family. Not only are my taxes always completed in a fast and thorough manner, but he’s always there to help at the drop of a hat. I no longer live in PA, but David will always do my taxes. The level of customer service here is unmatched and I tell everyone I know to come here. A+ rating all around!!

This was a laughable experience. My husband and I are still in disbelief after the way we were treated. David made not one, but several careless mistakes while doing our taxes. Normally I don’t write negative reviews because I think it’s fair to say people are human and make mistakes sometimes, and if a company responds in a respectful manner to a mistake, then that’s good enough for me. But David took no accountability for his mistakes and became defensive when we called him out on them. Instead of him taking the lead on fixing the mistakes, we were on the phone for hours with our bank and the IRS straightening everything out. He outright lied to us when he told us he had tried to call the bank, as we verified with a branch manager that the customer service branch that he had claimed to call hadn’t been open that day (it was a Saturday). We normally do our own taxes, but this year we decided to pay someone to do them since my husband had just started his own business, I had just undergone an invasive surgery, and we have two young kids at home. The goal was to give ourselves a break from having to do one more thing. But we spent more time sorting everything out than if we had just done our own taxes in the first place. In the midst of all this, we were calling and texting and e-mailing David on a near daily basis, trying to see what he could do on his end. He didn’t have the time of day for us. The one time we did get a hold of him he just kept saying, “The work was done.” He didn’t care that it had been done poorly; he had collected his money and now he was done with us. So finally after having been ghosted for about a week, we rearranged our schedules so we could go in and talk to him in person. He had no one else in his office but still made us wait in the waiting room; and then he reiterated that he had nothing else to say to us. I said I felt that was an unacceptable answer based on the circumstances, to which he responded that if we didn’t leave his office he was going to call the police. My jaw probably dropped, because here we were taking time out of our day to finally have a conversation with the man who was supposed to have filed our taxes; we never raised our voices; we were non-threatening; and we were probably there for a total of ten minutes. He ended up calling the police. We left before they arrived, but, needless to say, this added insult to injury. After that we have not made any more contact with him, but he is still e-mailing me trying to get a signature that he failed to procure in the first place. I can’t remember ever having a worse customer service experience.

Year to year David and his staff does great work. I dont have a simple tax return due to different sources of income ranging from multiple w-9s and 1099s but David and his team take care of me every year. Highly recommend.

I wouldnt take my tax documents anywhere else and I certainly wouldnt attempt to do my own! The staff morale is always so high, which to me says a lot about how a business is run and the quality of the service provided. A happy staff makes for happy customers!

I had 2 appointments scheduled with David Riggs that were both rescheduled which I understood because it was health related. Unfortunately, I had emailed and left voice mails for David several times before and after his absence with no response and when I finally got in touch with him he had no idea what we had discussed although he said that he had read my emails. If he didnt want my business I would have appreciated that he didnt waste my time.

I was referred to ASY by a friend after mentioning that my refund would dwindle every year. I tried ASY when Galen Riggs was still working and I been going back every since. From the first time till now the staff is friendly and fun. They know the tax laws! They have up to date computer systems. Quick and efficient. Im a customer for life. Oh and they have really great ink pens. Good writing pens are hard to find.

The first year I used this firm everything went great. The second year it was down to the wire on filing on time. I thought it may have been because David Riggs had been hospitalized. It was extremely stressful to me. Last year I can only relay what happened.I dropped off tax paperwork early and paid when it was completed. Unfortunately, another tax form was received late due to that companys problem. The day i received that paperwork I called and explained what had happened and that I would drop off to have everything reworked. It went downhill from there. It went from my getting a return to owing quite a bit.I was told that #1 it was due to error on the part of government insurance and I was told to get corrected figures. I personally sat down and went line by line filling in the figures and saw that there was no error. I emailed back and gave them this line by line accounting. They were going to look into it and two weeks went by.#2 I went in and this time was told that it was a glitch in the software that 50 to 60% of tax accountants use and that a call had been put into that companys tech people. Davids associate was in the room when I was told this. After 4 or 5 weeks of emailing asking for status, the only reply was that it was being worked on. At this point I called six other tax preparation services and asked them about the glitch. They had never heard of this glitch which was when it finally dawned on me that something was terribly wrong. I then called and said to have my paperwork ready to be picked up as I was going to someone else.When I got there I point blank asked if at least the PA return had been filed (I was told twice that it had been) and was told that nothing had been filed. This was close to seven weeks after the original papers were dropped off. I took tax documents to someone else and it was completed within 48 hours.I have no explanation as to why I was told there was a problem with healthcare form or why there was a glitch in tax software. Not to mention why I was told PA form was submitted, when it was not. I only hope that if you decide to use this firm that you do not encounter what I did.

Ive been using ASY for over 20 years. Ive changed states, sold and bought homes, changed jobs and started businesses, moved retirement account money and theyve handled our taxes through it all with ease and efficiency and never an audit! I think using them for your taxes is like buying audit insurance.
