Stony Brook Barber Shop is a fantastic choice for getting a quick, high-quality haircut. There is such a friendly atmosphere, the facility is always immaculate and uniquely decorated like a classic barber shop, and all the employees are proficient at their jobs. I definitely recommend going here.

This was my first time in this barber shop for years, Jose cut my hair and absolutely killed it found my new barber I highly recommend this place!!

Friendly neighborhood barbershop! Jose is super attentive to detail and always does a great job for me. Prices are fair and comparable for the area. True barbershop that finishes off the haircut with straight razor shave on the back of the neck.

Not a fan. Owner’s niece talks on phone outside, fixes her makeup, and attends to her mutt while customers sit in chairs waiting to get a cut. Apparently she doesn’t cut children’s hair either. Haven’t seen her pick up clippers once since I’ve been taking my kid there.

Maggie, and Christine are great!! I havent gotten the chance to work with the gentlemen there (I dont recall his name - Jose?)The newest member - Jeff is good, if hes not distracted. If his children are there, he cant concentrate and is easily distracted, which is understandable to a degree, however, since he has clippers and scissors near your head, youd like his full attention.

Maggie is the best. I highly recommend.

Love this place! Has that old school barber shop feel. Everyone there is really nice, and honestly the best hair cut Ive gotten in York. I always have the manager, Maggie, cut my hair. Shes fast, but does an amazing fade. I get compliments from friends and family every time.

Not great. I showed up and was seated within about 5 minutes. Not bad. After I was in the chair, the lady asked what I wanted., Put the cape on and grabbed her clippers. Just then her regular walked in and she said I would have to find another barber chair. The guy that cut my hair did a terrible job. He left multiple clumps that were longer than others, didnt cut the from at all and missed several spots with the clippers. I tried to show him were I needed more taken off and he said he could not see it. I paid and left. I will not be back.

Very friendly barbers, I received haircuts from every barber there and they all do a great job.

The dog strapped to the chair meant more to these people than the haircut my 10 year old austitic grandson needed. Sorry he’s deathly afraid of dogs and extremely allergic to them (which a reaction caused his fear) You could have moved the dog to another area but I guess he means too much to you so they expected me to wait longer until the dog less chair was available. That’s real nice customer service. Response: A simple conversation would have been for you to offer to do the right thing at the time that I already sat there for an hour not after I posted a bad review. And I did not make a scene. I simply said that “I would go somewhere where the customers are treated better than dogs and that you could have moved the dog to cut his hair”

Great service, very affordable. Maggie and the 2 other stylists are friendly, professional, and do a better job for about half the price than any of the chain stores. A++++

Good food for a good price

Christine and Maggie were very kind to my child with Autism Spectrum Disorder. He screamed and yelled a bit, but he did pretty well overall. Christine and Maggie were very kind and patient. Christine cut his hair and was quick, considerate, didnt mind that I held him while she cut his hair, and did a wonderful job. She spoke softly to him and even came out to our car to let us know when she was ready to see him so he didnt have to wait in the shop. We will definitely keep going back. Wonderful experience!!!

Absolutely love coming here. The owner Maggie is always nice and personable. All employees are always respectful n professional. Plus it’s a dog friendly barber shop like that’s unheard of but awesome and yes I have brought my pup in and they were all very nice to him to.
