Went bouldering here on a day pass. I usually climb in philly where I live but I was in the area and spent a few hrs here. I loved it! Great setting, good variety of holds and difficulties, and I loved that there was a whole separate building w cool style boulders. That separate building was the funnest part to me—really interesting problems!

Bouldered. Good climbing but grades maxed out at V9, so it depends on what you are looking for. New bouldering and fitness area added a lot to the existing facility. Full size campus board now. Would have given 5 stars, but the gym is still missing a few of the modern amenities. Any brand training board (or even a spray wall), a variety of hang boards (think there was only 2 and none in the annex building), sauna.

Worcester CRG is awesome. Big lead wall, lots of top roping and even a second building dedicated to bouldering and training! No masks are required now if you are vaccinated as well. Not usually too busy so get out there!

First place I ever climbed in. Less than a month later, I decided to become a member and have been one ever since. The Central Rock Gym separates their routes using hold colors which is much better than gyms that put stickers near each route. The gym is clean and staff if very friendly. A member of the staff, James, had a strong role in getting us into the sport.

Brought our 5 year old into Central Rock Gym today, from the moment we stepped in the door we felt welcome. Adam showed our son the special climbing equipment, ropes and beginner techniques of climbing. Our son tried climbing with the belay rope as well as without it above the fall mat.Highly recommend going in there and checking it out! They are great with all people including kids.

Great climbing gym that also offers fitness/yoga classes. Lead climbing and top rop routes are available. though the wall isnt super tall there is a cool arched overhanging feature for the lead climbs. Full set of free weights and squat racks are available as well. Also this gym is part of a chain that has several other locations in New England.

They do a good job at changing up the routes and the place is kept clean. My boys have had their birthday parties there and had a great time. During one of the though the birthday room was also the staff break room and it was quite the mess that we had to clean prior to using it. Other than that great facility!

I attribute this place to being the reason I lost 40 pounds and started caring about my health. They have an extensive climbing wall thats rotated on a fairly regular basis, yoga classes, and a small weight/ cardio gym. The activity is loads of fun with a group, and just a regular amount of fun if youre solo.

Stellar blend of rock walls and bouldering. They just opened up an entire new section of bouldering which is top notch. Very friendly staff and atmosphere. Its not the biggest place in mass, but certainly the best for miles and miles around. The one downside is that their shop is pretty small.I live near a bunch of other gyms, but this is the one I call home.

This gym is awesome. All of the staff are really friendly and patient. For one of the smaller gyms, they still have a huge amount of variety. They reset fairly often too, so theres usually something new to climb. This gym is also a great value. Getting the membership allows you to have access to all of their gyms. Even if you couldnt climb much, getting a CRG membership would be more beneficial than a membership at a traditional gym.

Re
Review №29

Great place. The top roping routes are really well done. One star off because their ratings on the bouldering wall are really inconsistent. 2 routes will both be rated V1 but one will be much, much harder than the other. Other gyms Ive been to seem to be much more consistent with their bouldering ratings. Also, because its a really family friendly place, sometimes there are little kids just running everywhere, running under climbers, etc., and the staff usually dont say anything to the parents about this. Could use some improvement there.

We visited a few years ago and were basically hooked from the start. We became members that night or the next! They compare very favorably to all the other gyms weve visited in state and out, and (in our opinion) beat all but the other gyms under the CRG name. We both love the variety of routes, frequency of change, creativity in setting, colored holds vs. tape, variety of music, events, classes, and members. In short, we highly recommend it!!!!

Visiting from Utah. Nice gym, I especially like the second building for the type of walls installed for bouldering. I brought painful shoes and ended up having to rent some. The membership provides a high value in that it gives you access to the collective of gyms under the CRG name and all of the services they offer. Awesome, friendly, attentive, informed staff. Gear available for rent, as well as some for purchase. Climbing is available in the main gym and bouldering is available in both buildings. There are machines for cardio, strengthening and conditioning upstairs as well as weights in the second building. Just be mindful of what you bring in the gym and leave in the open cubbies, I have friends who have had items stolen.

I love this place. I became a member when it first opened and had to move away for work. I came back to climb during winter break this past year. It was nice to see the gym was still extremely clean and had received several updates. The climbs are color coded by the holds now, which used to be my one and only complaint. I really like the new colors on the walls as well. I was somewhat expecting to walk back into the same gym I left, but I was pleasantly surprised to see they have not only kept things up to date, but also improved.

Edit: I have reduced my rating after learning about policies relating to guest passes and canceling your account. If you want to reinstate your account after canceling they charge you $100 or they will graciously let you pay them $30 dollars a month to freeze your account.. If you have been to the gym before and a friend wants to use their guest pass on you it only reduces the cost by 50%. As if these guys didnt charge enough already for a monthly pass.I have nothing but good things to say about Worcester CRG. It is a great space for anyone and especially those interested in wanting to learn to climb.**FOR BIKERS** I want to also give a shoutout to team members Hank, Adam, Tyler and Joey! I addressed my concerns about leaving my bicycle outside and they acquired a VERY heavy duty bike rack which was beyond my expectations and found me a short term solution in the mean time. Amazing place!

Wow. Only these words could come out of my mouth when coming to this place. I have been rock climbing for years now, and the second I stepped into this gym, I was disgraced, insulted and was spoken to extremely rudely. First off, the employee didnt even want to give me my own equipment because they did not believe I had ever rock climbed before and made it obvious that they felt I was not physically able to. I am in better shape and more physically fit than 85% of the people there. I swear these employees were sexist. Not once, but 3 times was I asked if I knew how to belay and hold somebody, because I am a teenage girl. When I had asked somebody a question later on, I was insulted by the person telling me that they would not help me because it would be illegal to answer her question because what I was asking was supposed to be learned in the class, which I did take before. So I was supposed to pay an extra $15 to take a class I already took, just for a simple question that could be answered with a yes or no? Well do you know what should be illegal? Employees discriminating against the fact that I am a teenage girl, and all they did was insult me, and think that I was an incompetent fool. I was even approached by a worker while on the floor asking if I even knew what I was doing. It would be different if they politely asked if you needed help but instead I was talked to rudely and felt unwelcomed. Even the regulars who go there are rude. Do not go to the Worcester Gym.
