Body Mind Balance is an amazing studio. I started as a total novice and they were incredibly patient and encouraging. They offer a wide variety of classes and there are always new exercises and challenges so it is definitely never boring! The instructors are all wonderful and supportive and going to class feels like spending time with friends. It is a tough workout but the results are amazing. I would recommend Body Mind to anyone at any skill level.
I have never stuck with any kind of exercise in my life, til the last 3 years here--- its hard stuff, but very doable and results right away & feel so much more healthy, my back had been a mess, and no longer the case. Ray really pays attention to each persons issues and the class is wonderful because of her attention to those details !! I really love it!!
Hands down Best Pilates studio and teachers I have ever experienced! Great teachers, tough classes and great take away posture tips that can be applied any time! So much more to the core than I ever realized!They changed my body and my life!
I have been going to the Bodymind Balance for more years than I can count (17+). It is a comfortable, supportive environment with a holistic focus. Ray, Peter, and Denise are excellent instructors, each with their own style. They bring their knowledge of anatomy and provide endless variations to the classes to keep them challenging and to remind you of muscles you forgot you had. I am happy to say I am stronger and more energetic than many of my friends and younger co-workers. This has been a great investment in my health and well-being.
I started at BodyMindBalance this past fall and it was the best decision I made. Ray and Denise are the best!! The studio has changed my outlook on working out and my eating habits.. I highly recommend it. You will not be sorry..
Body Mind Balance has been such a wonderful place for me for about 15 years. I refer to it as my therapy, as it has been a place to go to clear my head while also getting my body into tip top shape. When I am going to 1-2 weekly classes, I feel no back pain at all. The staff, studio, and location are all absolutely incredible!
A totally different Pilates experience! Ray is amazing; she provides lots of individualized attention and adaptation to facilitate progress without risking injury. Excellent attention to form with lots of variety from week to week and a friendly class atmosphere. After a year of twice weekly classes, I am vastly stronger and tighter than before. Ray is so much more knowledgeable than other Pilates instructors Ive worked with. I strongly recommend Body Mind Balance!

Pilates is the best workout for your entire body! I have lifted weights and done high impact aerobics for years, but this is by far a better workout and so much kinder on your muscles and joints. It is an intense workout from start to finish but I have feel much stronger and leaner in my short time since starting. I am hooked!
After years of more traditional modes of exercise (running, step and other kinds of aerobic classes), I was at first uncertain if I liked Pilates. But an exceptionally talented instructor (Ray Douglas) and increasing strength in my core soon turned uncertainty into love and appreciation. Over the past 16 months, I have taken private, semi-private and group lessons. Ray is dedicated and patient. Her workouts are thorough, but updated to enliven a class or offer a challenge. Ray always has an eye on class members and is quick to suggest better form. She also keeps a watchful eye for those who are nursing an injury and is quick to suggest a position alteration or equipment adjustment to prevent further injuries. My favorite classes are half mat, half reformer. With clever language (pretend you are hugging my fat uncle Fred, or jump like a leprechaun), she offers great clues. Pilates is an effective exercise program for all. But as a mature class member (59), I really appreciate the overall benefits of Pilates. My body is strengthened without the risks presented by running or other high intensity exercise. I highly recommend the studio. Again, Ray is an exceptionally talented instructor and I enthusiastically recommend her classes. The studio culture is warm and welcoming. I have made wonderful friends in my Tuesday morning class and notice the way people encourage and support each other.
Terrible first experience! Saturday beginner sessions at 10:30 am. The instructor rudely asked me are you in college? when she was trying to help me with a specific position. And when I said no I am in grad school she goes oo it looks like they really didnt teach you what an inch is.This is my first time trying pilates and in no way I was doing great but I was trying. She should be encouraging and not insult me passive aggressively because I was not getting the movement right and moving by more than one inch. Will never return here ever again! Thanks for starting my Saturday in such a negative way.Also, the instructor was bashing other forms of workout where you move your whole body or you are on the treadmill. I much rather go back on my treadmill and to my SoulCycle classes where I move and feel amazing about working out versus coming here and having the instructor be very rude to a beginner who is trying something new for the first time.
I have been taking classes here for years. The staff, facility and program are top notch. Ray and Denise provide Pilates instruction that is thoughtful, educational, challenging, physically, and mentally stimulating.
I have been a client at Body Mind Balance for 5 years. I began with no experience or knowledge of Pilates. Ray and Peter patiently taught me the basics, encouraged me, corrected my form and challenged me when I was ready. They are able to provide modifications if you have any issues such as tight hips, back or are recovering from an injury. Slowly I became stronger and more confident.This is a serious Pilates studio where you will be challenged if you are an advanced student but guided if you are a beginner. You will be encouraged and never judged.I attend mat, reformer and fusion classes 2-3 times a week. Recently Denise started teaching here and is a great addition to their team. I have lost weight, have muscle definition, and feel great!
I highly recommend this studio. I started here about 5 months ago and although I had worked out for many years I had no experience with Pilates. I was hooked from the first day. Every class I attend I am shocked, challenged and at the same time incredibly happy that I decided to try it. It is a full body experience awakening muscles I never knew I had. I feel great. Whether the classes are large or small I always feel the personal attention. Experts at what they do, Ray, Denise and Peter all take the time to teach you with patience and skill. The time flys and I am always disappointed when it’s over! Do this for yourself and check it out!
So much of exercise today is focused on faster and more, while BodyMind Balance Pilates Studio will show you the strength needed to move with control while maintaining ideal alignment. Slowing down my movement has been a game changer for me both mentally and physically.

I started Pilates at Bodymind Balance 8 years ago! Best thing I ever did. With the guidance of the incredibly knowledgable people here, I am in better shape now than I have ever been n my life. Great workouts, Ray is great at recognizing and accomodating issues we may have with our bodies, keeping us safe from injuring ourselves. I worked out in a leg cast for 3 months and a boot for 2 months and came out stronger than I went in before my injury! Try them out, you wont be disappointed!
I highly recommend this Pilates Studio as It has excellent Instructors who are very knowledgable. It has a variety of all level classes on Mat and Reformers. If your looking for a challenging workout, here is the place to come.

As part of my physical therapy regime for lower back pain and runners knee, my physical therapist recommended increasing the amount of pilates I took and he specifically recommended Body Mind Balance. Ive been going ever since, and I cant even remember how many years it has been! Ray, Denise, and Peter are all fantastic. They are incredibly knowledgable in regards to pilates, injuries, modifications, and the body mind connection. They know every clients issues and adapt for each client during the class. It is incredible! They are very client-centered. Tough and challenging workouts--never the same workout. You will become stronger, fitter, and you will know your body much better. Most highly recommend.
I have been taking classes at BodyMind balance for a few months now with Ray, and i think it is one of the better choices i have ever made for myself regarding fitness. After spending almost a year in PT with a back sprain, I started a Pilates class to increase my core strength to prevent myself from re injuring myself. Ray was very supportive and attentive, making sure i had proper form and using the correct modifications i needed to so that i would not injure myself again. She took special time to make sure i knew what i was doing, and even told me to come in for additional sessions to make sure i learned the basics correctly. I am very surprised to see the negative reviews she has gotten here, because they honestly could not be further from the experience that i have had. I highly recommend both her and the studio.
I have been a student of pilates at Mind Balance Pilates Studio for many years, and it is one of the best things I have done for myself. I have taken most of my classes under Rays instruction, who is an excellent instructor, however, all of the instructors at Mind Balance are exceptional as well. Their level of expertise and instructional techniques are unparalleled. They provide a safe, challenging and fun learning environment. The format of the classes change just enough to always keep it interesting. I plan to be a student at MindBalance for many years to come.
I have been coming to BodyMInd Balance for over 16 years and will never stop coming here. Their class sizes are small, thereby giving everyone good individualized attention, which you do not get at a larger facility.Ray, Peter and Denise are the instructors and they take great care to be sure that you are safe when you are working out.I have been working with Ray for most of my time here and she is very knowledgable about anatomy, and knows peoples injuries also in order to modify each persons workout.I had tennis elbow many years ago and no longer have it as Ray showed me a simple exercise (which I cannot describe here) to help my elbow to heal.Pilates is for everyone--so guys, come and check it out!If you are looking for a good Pilates studio and a very different workout, please check out BodyMind Balance--you will want to make this your new workout studio.
