This karate school & Shihan Brian is wonderful. Both of my boys have been attending classes there for over a year now and I’ve seen their behavior improve a lot. Plus he makes it fun & educational along with teaching the kids self defense. Highly recommend
👋 Hello Shihan Brian how is youre week I just hope in these tough times that you have the best life that you can and when this is all over have a great time in life!I loved youre karate class for us and in my now 14 year old life a great success because of you teaching me discipline and respect to our family, strangers, elders, and fellow peers. Also, how to teach myself to maintain self control, and how and how-not to use self defense in fighting.Thank you Shihan Brian - your past; mabye still friend Joseph
Bay State Martial Arts has a family friendly atmosphere and a positive learning environment. While Master Sweetser is dedicated to teaching Martial Arts, he takes a body/mind approach with his young students. As the kids learn martial skills they must also be responsible and respectful in their practice. As their Sensei he believes in discipline. However, I think he is having as much fun as they are. I believe that learning Karate with this fun yet disciplined approach is what most parents are looking for in a Karate school. For these reasons, and as a Martial Artist myself for the past 28 years, I would, with confidence, recommend Bay State Martial Arts.
So awesome with the kids! My daughter loves Shihan!
I trained regularly at with Shihan Brian Sweetser at BSMA for over 13 years, and it has undoubtedly been one of the most significant and influential presences in my life throughout. Not only did I gain mastery of countless Kenpo Karate techniques, forms, terms, defenses, strikes, weapons, methodologies, and philosophies through the years of training, but I also thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it.Progressing from the youngest kids class (Tiny Tigers), to Kenpo Kids, and eventually to the full-on adult classes offered at BSMA, Shihan always had a way of making our training as enjoyable and entertaining as possible.Unfortunately, I had no choice but to effectively cease training when I left for college, I hope someday to be afforded the privilege of returning to BSMA, as it truly does comprise some of the fondest memories I have from my childhood through my young-adulthood, and has had a deeply meaningful impact on my life and my skills today as well.
