Amazing experience! They are currently doing one family at a time so it’s a nice relaxed environment. My son was entertained the entire time and did not cry once. Maria used to be good but she has changed. My daughter used to never cry at her salon but last time we went she was in tears. The whole time Maria was huffing and puffing like we were inconveniencing her. It was a really awkward and uncomfortable situation. No mention as to why. Then she charged me double than usual. What a shame, we will never go back. Very unprofessional and does not communicate well. I don’t recommend this place at all.

Took my son to get a hair cut in this really nice place. They have two locations. They do kids as well as adults. The place is small, but nice. The stylist was really good. She did an amazing job giving my son a hair cut. I just wish they would add more kid chairs. Had a great experience. My child loves his new hair cut.

Its fine if your daughter is getting a trim, although she was rough when brushing her hair and it seemed she was annoyed/rushed.However, when she cut my sons hair it was all wrong. I showed her a picture of what I wanted his hair to look like and she just mostly buzzed it, then scissor cut the top too short and never faded/blended the sides. It looks nothing like the picture, but more importantly, she never attempted to create the same hair style. She just did what was easiest. I will never come back here and you shouldnt either if youre expecting a specific hairstyle.

The place is always very clean and obviously designed with children in mind. The stylist is very friendly and good with kids. We’ve never had a bad experience or cut.

5 stars does not cover it! This place was a LIFESAVER! After trying to get our little 2y 9m haircut at MULTIPLE hair salons, looking up tips and tricks on how to successfully get a haircut, buying sensory scissors and not being able to EVER get it done, we were FINALLY able to get a successful haircut!!!! The last time we were able to even do a trim was as he slept in the car seat and we did it ourselves, so you can imagine how that turned out! He was diagnosed with Autism back in March and although he has come a LONG way since then, this haircut was a HUGE obstacle that we were able to overcome. We went hoping for the best, and expecting the worse all at the same time. But let me tell you, Maria was AMAZING! She was patient with our little guy. She waited until it was go time and although there were tears...lots of them..from not just the baby but us too, WE DID IT!!!!!!!!! Maria was sooooooooooo fast! She remained calm the entire time and never did she make us feel like this was too much like some other places we had been in the past, I hugged her so tight when everything was done. She moved right along with all his movements and he made out with an even cut and a happy family! He even left giving Maria a high 5 even though he fought with her throughout the whole cut lol! This is the first review I have ever given, but this is important for all my fellow Autism (and non autism) families that struggle getting their little ones haircut. DO NOT WALK BUT RUN to see Maria at this salon. We will forever be grateful to her and the staff at Pio Kids!

Ive moved a bit since my child was born 5 years ago, so weve tried a few different salons given the distance wed have to travel to go to Pio Pio, but if its an important moment - such as Christmas photos- the only place I trust without hesitation is the staff at this place!

We had an amazing experience. This is where we took our toddler for his first haircut. The stylist was able to cut his hair while he kept moving his head continuously. He was oblivious to what was going on and was happy the entire time. We will be returning.

Yesterday I took my 2 boys for a haircut. I was a little afraid about the virus but when Maria told me I had to make an appointment I knew she was being precautions. My son has autism so he soes not let anybody to cut his hair. Just Maria. We went there, it was just us and Maria, she was using a mask and a clear thing to cover her face. I felt to safe and protected.My boys had their haircut and we went back home. Maria cut my sons hair and did an amazing job. This was his first haircut and cried the whole time and she somehow got his hair very even through all his squirming. She gave us locks of his curly hair for myself, my mom and mother in law, which I thought was very nice. Definitely coming back!

I recommend this place to anyone who has small children. Maria the owner is AMAZING. I have two boys 5&3, they arent big on hair cuts. My 3 year old is nonverbal and shes amazing with him. Shes very careful and talks to him the whole time. I always call ahead of time to make sure shes there and open before I head that way but its worth it. I wouldnt take my babies anywhere else.

Me and my girlfriend drove there for 30 minutes just to take our little angel Leah for her very first haircut right before her 6th months. I have to say we were very satisfied with our experience. The 3 girls that were there to take us in were phenomenal. They made us feel like we were at home and treated our daughter with much love and professionalism. Their staff was very attentive and caring about our daughters first experience and made her feel like a walk at the park. We were very pleased with the haircut and treatment while we were there. Found this salon on Google this morning. After reading the great reviews we went to check it out - because there was no way I was going to let Great Clips butcher my kids hair again. Today was our first trip.I am so glad we came to Pio Pio! Maria is AWESOME!!! She is great with kids and super fast too!Whats that? Your kid moves a lot during hair cuts? No worries, Maria literally moves with them!My son got the best haircut hes had so far. Crisp, clean, and most importantly, EVEN. Im happy, dads happy, and my son looks great - Maria is my sons stylist from here on out. Thank you, Maria!!!

We took our 1 year old son there and Marcia was AMAZING!!! She was so good with him and his hair looks fantastic. She did exactly what we wanted and was able to not only keep a 1 year old from moving around and getting a messed up hair do she had bubbles, toys, a DVD, and an awesome strap that is comfortable around the waist of a child so mommy and daddy dont have to sit down while little ones are getting their haircut. She was AWESOME. We will definitely be returning for his next hair cut. Not to mention she gave him a certificate with a lock of hair, a balloon and a lollipop (which we opted out on because he is only 1) . She speaks perfect Spanish and English, the salon looks like a kids toy room.

I brought my son here for his first haircut and was really happy with the results. I was so nervous about anyone touching his baby curls but Maria delivered exactly what I asked for.There were 2 people ahead of us (one women and one child) but we waited no longer than 25 minutes even with only one stylist working. Which was nothing with all the toys to keep my little one busy.This review would be 5 stars but I did notice that the car chair did not have a proper buckle, but was instead just tied around my sons lap. My son sits very still but I would consider this a safety hazard if your child is wiggles a lot.

The hair dresser Maria went way and beyond with my son who has Autism. To me this place was a miracle and my last resort and they work wonder with kids love it love how they treat the kids! Will keep bringing my son to this salon!

As a first time parent, I was nervous bringing my kid for his 1st haircut. How would he react? How would he be handled? But he was comforted the whole time with toys, a movie playing, and a lollipop as well. He had such a fun time, and my wife and I were so thrilled with not just the haircut, but how much our child was taken care of. Highly recommend this place!! Thank you!!

The stylists give great haircuts, and there are plenty of toys and videos to entertain the kids. I just wish they took appointments instead of walk-ins only because the two times Ive gone, Ive had to wait 20-30 minutes to be seen.

Haircuts have always been a struggle for my 5 yr old. In the past we have had to restrain him, beg, plead, and bribe him just to get through a haircut. The clippers were also a big source of stress and fear for him. We tried this place today and they were wonderful! The stylist talked my son through everything that she did and he had a stress free haircut. It also happened to be a great haircut. We will definitely be coming here from now on. My son has sensory issues and she respected him and worked with him. It was amazing for all of us and he looks great!

The great little place. You probably wouldnt find it if you werent looking for it because the plaza doesnt exactly have a lot of foot traffic but the hair stylist was very kind and was very good with our little girl. She let her pick what movie she wanted to watch and gently worked out any Tangles and helped her through her first haircut. We have gone back many times since then and we will continue to go as long as shes got a seat big enough for our little one.

Got my sons first haircut here and it went great.They have so many things to distract your little one so they can get the perfect cut. My son loved playing with all the toys and I loved the hassle free experience. Will be returning for his next cut.

DO NOT EVER GO HERE!  WORST haircut experience ever. Took my daughter here based on the 5-star google reviews, The lady cutting her hair was the older lady. The haircut was a simple straight cut. I saw my daughter wincing a few times during the haircut and thought that it was due to hair being pulled, However the moment we left the salon, my daughter burst into tears and told me that the ladys nails scratched her many times. I pulled her hair up to see her neck covered in large deep scratch marks. The woman had long nails that had straight and not rounded tips and had scratched up my daughters entire neck during the process of giving her a haircut. How can you have long sharp nails when you work at a kids hair salon??? We went back into the store and when I pointed out the scratches to the two women there (the older woman who did the haircut and the younger woman who appeared to be in charge there), the younger woman said that the marks were from the brush. Well, brushes have rounded tips on the bristles and cannot scratch human skin. I am wondering what steps I should take to report this obvious health violation to the authorities who license these hair salons.

Highly recommended my 3year old with Down Syndrome, he have a lot issues with sensory stuffs and I was frustrated with haircuts before I came here, this place changed he’s way to have a very nice haircut for the first time . The stylist have a lot patient with my son all the time, she sing songs with me in order to have the control during the process with the haircut !!! Totally a unique experience not only mention the bubble machine and toys the she have . She really make my child feel welcome and care . Truly recommended this place... she is awesome!!!! My almost 1 yr old had a great experience. My two year old daughter loved the waiting play area and asks to go back.My son has two cow licks close together making his haircuts difficult. The haircut was just as I asked.

Weve been to this location 7 times, only had 3 haircuts. FOUR times they were closed during posted hours. FOUR. Today when we stopped in there were two OPEN signs up, but the door was locked. My kid loves the toys and the general vibe of the place, which is why we kept going, but no more.

I read the reviews and decided the 30 minute drive would be worth it. My son has Autism and he wont allow anyone to touch his hair. Maria spent extra time making my son feel comfortable and did an awesome job on his hair. In fact, he didnt want to leave. This place is amazing.

I brought my 2 sons here for a haircut on an early Saturday afternoon and they were seen right away. The staff there are so friendly and accommodating, and their salon is super kid friendly with toys, TVs and a bubble machine! My 18 month old was a nightmare during his haircut and she was still able to give him the exact cut I wanted with so much patience. At the end of their cuts they each got a prize and a balloon. Awesome customer service and for a great price - I would highly recommend them and will be returning for future haircuts for my boys. Thank you!

Place is very far from us, but Maria does amazing haircuts! My 2yo is crying and trying to escape, but she handles it very good! A lot of toys to play with while waiting.

We have been there with both of our kids and had decent haircuts each time. Unfortunately they are very busy and dont employ a lot of barbers, so the wait can be kind of long. So I decided to get there 10 minutes before they opened to minimize the wait time. Apparently 3 other families had the same idea. But nobody showed up to open the doors. Slowly, the families started leaving in frustration. At 11:25, my 3 year old was getting restless and cold so we left without anyone ever showing up to open the doors.

Really cute childrens salon... No wash, just cut and style. The owner is very good with the littles. She has given my little one great haircuts, and it is a haircut that not everyone is good at. (Pixie-bob cut.) we are now repeat customers. Highly reccomend.

I have a 3-year-old who absolutely abhors haircuts. We have attempted doing it ourselves a few times, but since I dont have the training, its hard to get a decent cut.I learned about Pio Pio from parent reviews and testimonies. You see, I work with preschoolers and their families. Id frequently ask parents where they take their boy/s to get their hair cuts, and theyd say, Pio Pio on Semoran! Theyre great!Let me tell you, this place came as advertised. Very visually inviting for the kiddos- kitchen play area, train sets, cars, trucks, etc. Blippi was blasting on the T.V. My son wanted to sit on the car chair, which by the way, has a horn and sound effects!Things started off okay when my son sat down. I was preparing myself for the worst. He had his moments of fear, where hed try to rip the cape off and get out. But let me tell you, our stylist was INCREDIBLY patient....and FAST! My word!!! Shed also take out little toys in her drawer, which I now call her toy arsenal. LolMy son moved, she moved with him! He tried to touch his hair, she backed the scissors away. She never startled him with the spray bottle, but would prepare him by spraying her hands first. I mean, she gets first prize for patience, love, and expertise!When it was time to get the clippers out, which is the one thing my son is very scared of, she worked very quickly and efficiently. Yes, my son went a little ballistic, but we managed it as a team.Then, the time came for a prize. You see, after a haircut, the kids came pick a small prize. Liam got his play-doh, and the tears went away. Such an awesome place and we are so glad we came! We live in Ocoee, but will be making our trips to Casselberry/Winter Park for certain whenever its time for our son to get a cut. It was such a positive experience- not just for our kiddo, but for me as a mommy and my husband. He was incredibly impressed.

I drove quite a ways to get my girls haircut and styled. It was the best decision I made. They are super friendly and very good with kids. I highly recommend them.

First of all I just want to say I am a hairstylist myself but Ive always had a hard time cutting my sons hair and keeping him still. I was nervous to bring him to somebody else but he desperately needed a haircut. The place is beautiful and has plenty of toys, bubbles, movies and candy to distract your child when getting their haircut. My son loved it and didnt want to leave, I was completely satisfied with his haircut and how professional they are. We will definitely come back for his next haircut.

Maria is the owner and best kids stylist I ever met. She is always so busy that I wonder how can she keep up with the demand. Weekends are particularly busy with her place. My son is one of those kids who cries like he is being tortured and wont stop wrestling. She manages to cut his hair evenly with all his ruckus in a couple of minutes. I took him once to other place and I could see that not everybody can do the same.She is very sweet and attentive. Speaks English and Spanish and her place is filled up with toys and this to entertain kids. I love the decoration of Pio Pio interior and how sge keeps adding new elements to entertain the kids. She has other stylists around and they are fine, they just lack the experience. Overall, she has a vibe and touch with kids and that is special.

Today I take my daughter for her first haircut, I was very excited. I tell them to cut jus the ends and do a bangs so her hair doesn’t bother her eyes, what a mistake! She did her bangs like she did the division in the back of her head like you do when you cut a male hair and her bangs she cut it where I told her then she cut more by mistake and now is about 2 1/2 to 3 inches above her eyebrows!!!!On top of that she didn’t save my baby’ First hair, (I paid for the first hair cut package), the other stylist saw that and did her best to saves her hair and pick up from the floor her first curl.Horrible experience first and last time there. Btw the old lady did all that mess. She doesn’t know how to cut baby girls hair looks like she does boys only.

Just wanted to give a shout out to the Pio Pio Kids Salon (they take adults too). My son who has severe anxiety and some special needs still hates haircuts but the owner Maria is so amazing with him. She is quick too. If you want to see a stylist give a portrait worthy haircut to a kid who is half upside down, ducking and weaving like a professional boxer, and with the 8 arms of an angry octopus, all while keeping a smile on her face and a gentle voice to boot, go to Pio Pio. She is even open to kids coming in to hang out with her assortment of toys and whimsical styling chairs (airplane and a car) just to get used to her and her tools.My son starts Pre-K VE on Monday and hes going to look like such a handsome little fella when he does. So if youre in the area look her up you wont be disappointed.

Took my almost 1yo son in for a haircut and Maria was so sweet, gentle, and patient with him. He wasnt super cooperative but she managed to work quickly and still did a great job. We will definitely be back.

That was the best place ever for my son haircut, he used to hate the idea of cutting his hair now in our second visit he went by himself to the chair waiting for his haircut to be done.Maria which appears to be the owner interact with the kids she do everything possible to make them comfortable and at the end of the haircut she offers them lollipops, balloons and surprises may be that what makes them love the haircut. .lolNot to mention the bubble machine kids love it .We will return back for sure

I checked online for weeks for a place to get my twin 2 and a half year old girls hair cut and finally found Pio-Pio Kids Salon. There were other places here and there but a lot of them had some really bad reviews. I am SO happy I decided to take them here. Very nice family owned salon. Super kid friendly. My girls loved all the stuff there was to play with in the little play area. They keep the area super clean. Also the owner (I believe her name was Maria) was lovely. Very patient with my girls and the cuts came out great. Best of all she gave them both a cute first haircut certificate with a strand of their hair stapled onto it. They also got balloons and lollipops and cannot wait for their next haircut!

Pio pio is a one of a kind kids salon. Treated a 2yr old nephew to his first haircut and he was super comfortable. Hairdresser loves kids&is great with making them feel safe&at ease. Kids have fun cars as salon seats, bubbles to enjoy, and videos to keep them entertained. Haircuts are stylish&professional. The end results was a gorgeous happy nephew.

Took boys there for haircuts and will never be back!! I asked for a cut with the top being longer than the shaved sides and was told it was too much work... umm ok. Than we asked to trim my younger sons bangs. She proceeded to trim his entire hair when we stated bangs only. So of course when we go to check out I was charged for two full haircuts, even after stating it was a bang trim. Should have turned around at the beginning, it was like an assembly line with not much time focused on the cut. The bathroom didn’t even have a toilet seat!! Than to make matters worse I had to fix my older sons hair bc she missed most of his neck. Needless to say we will never be back, I honestly do not understand how it has such a high review.
