Rafael offered to mow and trim our yard and would not accept payment. Great person and now I am a full paying customer.

This company has an unusually high number of 5 star reviews which, after our short and unpleasant experience with them, I find difficult to believe are all legitimate. The first time I spoke to the owner, he was rude for no reason, but no biggie. After being a customer for 1 week, while attempting to process our 2nd payment, the card which we had on file with them for auto-billing declined (apparently 3 times back to back on the same day) because I accidentally set my card’s sub-limit too low. Instead of calling me and telling me my card declined like any other business would, the owner sent me a text message and said we were cancelled as customers...and banned for life. Unbelievable! That’s completely unprofessional, bizarre and horrible customer service.We have numerous properties and perfect credit and don’t appreciate being treated like deadbeats. After promising him I was going to review his company accordingly, he reluctantly offered to “give us one more chance”. Yeah, right! I told him they’re not the only guys in town who cut grass and we would find someone else who treats their customers better, which was very easily accomplished. 1-star well-deserved!Update 5/31/2020I just read the owners response and that should tell you all you need to know about this bald-faced liar. You know very well who I am, Raphael, and not only are you a liar but your customer service sucks, which is why we replaced you with a better company. Nice try!

California Landscaping did an amazing job on our difficult property. Before they came, our land was mostly unusable due to design and previous owners over landscaping and projects. If you are going to choose any landscaper, this is the one to choose!!!Mr. Barbosa came out the same day I called him for a quote, even though it was after hours. If he tells you he’s going to be there, he will be there. He is a man of his word, and fully trustworthy. He is upfront about what he can do, and the cost. All his interactions are friendly and straight forward.He and his team, came in practically a few days, cleared land, removed an existing overgrown garden, leveled out and raised land that was sloping towards out house, causing runoff and erosion problems around the foundation.After laying seed down (BY HAND!!!) on our 1/2 or so acre of land, the grass has grown in strong, even though he said it might not take.In front of the house, the landscaping that was originally there was choked with ground covering, and essentially a breeding ground for snakes. He cleared that out, and replanted azaleas there, for low maintenance gardening, completely mulched in and replanted some existing plants into a better location.The driveway also needed re-landscaped, due to many years of bad rains eroded the gravel, and was slopped directly toward the house. He had a crew come out within a week, and had a wall built, to raise the land, and keep the rain water away from the house. The job was completed in about a week, and looks 100% professional.We are having him come back out in the fall to maintain the work that he has done to the property, and I can expect great results, based on what he has done for us so far!

I called Rafael early this week because I was in dire need of someone to help with my yard maintenance. Although he was booked for the week, he stopped by and gave me a very reasonable quote. He then fit me in for the next day and did an excellent job cutting my grass, trimming etc.I dont think Ill have anyone else do yard maintenance for me. I initially wrote a 5 star review for this company last season as we had a wonderful experience with them. However, starting back in April 19, we were charged for two weeks landscaping services that were never provided. The only response I received when questioning the bill was, If you feel that we where not there do not pay sir. and we no longer be able to services the house we thank you. I have noticed in an earlier review, someone else complained about this very same issue. While I believe they do provide great landscaping service, please make sure that you keep track of each time they claim to be on-site. Good luck.

California Landscaping & Lawn Care has helped to make our yard beautiful again. They trimmed shrubbery, removed trees, trimmed edges, mowed grass, cleaned patio and other outside areas from leaves and other debris, including removing a large pile of tree limbs. Illness and traveling for much of the past year has prevented us from maintaining it as we have in the past. We are grateful to Mr. Barbosa and his company for the prompt attention they have shown, and we will continue to call on them for their help in maintaining our yard and garden.

I had some really tough shrubs that needed to be removed. They not only removed the shrubs without incident they also cleaned up the debris and cleaned out my gutters. Quick and fast service for a reasonable price. I am a very satisfied customer.

These guys are the best! It used to take me 45 minutes to cut my grass and they do it in 15 mins tops and they do a much better job than I could (plus edging and spraying weeds). I just moved to the other side of town and this yard is twice as big as the last one and Rafael gave me a great deal so that I could still afford it. He told me he does all kinds of other things too, like painting or gutters. I highly recommend hiring Rafael if you need any outside work done around your house.

Had to do some fall clean-up. Mainly scrape the backyard and remove pine needles from front and back yard. Also requested shrub removal that I had cut down and left in driveway. Quick and affordable service. Will be using for future projects such as deck painting.

Beware...They charged me for services not rendered. Theyll start off doing a fair job and then theyll start to miss a day, then two and they will tell you that they have been out to mow. Also theyll aerate your lawn and then not inform you until after they completed it and if you refuse to pay for a service you didnt request, theyll threaten to take you to small claims court. Pass this one by and select a more honest landscaping service.
