My car broke down on I-40 in Winslow. Ben at Dolar Car Rental didnt have the right size rental car I needed. He let me leave my car on his lot to get another rental car and he helped me find a local mechanic to fix my a few days later. Great service Ill always be grateful for.

Getting the car was a long horrible event. And then when we arrived at our destination we realized there was a bubble in the tire. Getting Dollar (owned by Hertz) to deal with this minor situation took about 6 phone calls and half a day. Both Hertz and a Dollar get huge thumbs down.

Two customer service reps and twenty people in line, had reservations with thrifty but they direct you to dollar. What a zoo! All they are interested in is up selling and asking the same information that you fill out in the reservation....

They left us sitting at the train station in Winslow. No vehicle and no way to contact themCalled them the following Monday. They forgot after being contacted, confirmed and reconfirmed. They were busy. Called Dollars 800 number. They were unable to process my call due to some kind of issue. Called the next day, same recording. Dollar rent a car is a joke! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME or money. SEVERELY DISSATISFIED!

My parents and I went to pick up our car rental in Phoenix, Arizona. We waited in line for a good 20-30 minutes (at the least). There was one person at the desk when we arrived. Eventually, a woman came to the desk. Then, another man came to the desk. Man #2 ended up helping one customer, and then disappeared. The woman then disappeared shortly, and when she came back, she told man #1 that someone (man #2?) was in the back (doing something much less important, since there was a huge line of people). As we were waiting in line, I decided to look up the reviews for this company. The average was 1.3 stars, and read some of the horrendous accounts of past sufferers to my parents.Now, I will give man #1 some credit, because he seemed genuinely interested in giving customers a good experience. The woman was also friendly, but could tell there was an underlying boredom. At some point, one of them went to find man #2, which took a good 5-10 minutes, meaning there was only one person at the desk, again.Not entirely sure what type of car we had reserved, but I know it needed to be able to fit 3 suitcases. Well, we got to the garage, and found that there were very limited options. We opened the back of each one, because we couldnt get our luggage in at all, or without struggle. Eventually we ended up having to put one of the back seats down. This wasnt the most negative aspect, but still it would have been nice to have a few more options.We got in the car, and I opened the console. There were papers left from the person who had rented the car before us. VERY lucky there was no personal information on there.But heres the best part-Due to the companys incompetence to clear the car of anything that wasnt supposed to be there when being rented to the next customer, we were able to get into the Grand Canyon for free- for two days. The person before us had paid for a 7-day pass, and the sticker for said pass was on the windshield. There were two days remaining on the pass, which we were able to use to get in without paying $30 each day.So basically, one good thing was able to come out of this companys terrible service. We will most definitely be going with a better rental company in the future.I mean seriously, the name says it all; Dollar. With the cheapest prices comes cheapest service.

An excellent place to rent a car! The windshield wipers were worn so the guy put on a new set in case we ran across rain. Awesome!

This company COST ME $180! Without going into details, I was travelling from NC to CA solo. Honestly, I found the people in AZ (I-40) to be unfriendly at best, & this company was no different. Without any effort on their part to see what was going on ... Id certainly never do business with them!

Stopped in to see if they were open they happened to have just closed and left without telling us and locked my family and car into the parking lot. Luckily some rancher drove by and had a key.
