We absolutely love the Kaizen team. Its so much more than just an activity for kids to do. The kids have learned amazing real life skills like self discipline, respect, leadership, self defense and more. We couldnt have asked for a better dojo & we all love our dojo family.

Thank you Kaizen team for making me feel more confident and powerful as a young woman who is usually out alone. I just completed my first series of private self defense classes. I never learned how to defend myself or hit anything growing up. Now I feel confident in what to do and how to move if someone tried to attack me. Plus you make some great friends along the way. I will definitely be returning for reviewing classes and maybe even karate!

Im a high school senior photographer and have a senior model team. Each year Im looking for different activities that we can do together as a group. This year I thought it would be fun and a valuable experience to do with my team seeing as they are young women about to go off to college. Matt and his son Mason were amazing to work with and we had a great time!

Matt is not only the nicest guy, but he is also for womens empowerment. I took his self defense class and it changed my life. He makes everyone feel comfortable and supported. He is great with kids too. My kiddo took his little samurai class and had a blast. I highly recommend Kaizen Karate & Self Defense.

I have taken Matts self defense class and have also been part of his kick boxing classes. If you are looking for someone to teach you self defense, self confidence, and self control, hes your guy! Any skill level, any experience, he treats you with the same level of professionalism. I have learned so much from him and he delivers an insane workout, every time. Its a fun and inviting place while also teaching you the skills you want to learn. I wont ever go anywhere else!!

Kaizen Karate is wonderful! My kiddo is pretty shy and going to karate twice a week has been so great for him. He is learning self-defense, discipline, and leadership. He is definitely more confident since starting. Sensei Matt and the whole team at Kaizen Karate are true leaders and care about every kid who walks in the door.

Nice, friendly environment. Kids like the karate and Im a fan of the self defense. The summer program offered was fun and enjoyable for the kids and gave mom and dad a couple kid-free hours! Price is very reasonable and competitive! Kaizen Karate usually lets you and/or your family try a class to see what you think- its worth it! Very useful stuff!

My eight year old daughter is really enjoying karate. The self defense methods are a fantastic life skill and one of her favorite things to practice during class. Learning forms and having demonstrations at the end of black belt class is an awesome confidence builder.

Absolutely awesome environment for kids. Sensei Matt instills very important core values to all his students. Mat Chat is one of the things he does, some chats include anti-bullying talks, respect for parents, and integrity. The dojo is set up for all levels and all kids are treated equal. Highly recommended.

Matts self-defense class it AMAZING! It is very educational and fun. They make sure that you understand each move and how to do it correctly prior to moving on to a new move or situation. You get more for your money in this class and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Matt is a fantastic instructor, I take both my sons there and they love it. I was worried at first because my oldest is on the autism spectrum and can sometimes have bad anxiety but Matt has done a great job at making sure that he is included and enjoys himself. 5 stars for sure.

Matt and his instructors are fantastic! Im quite pleased with how they make sure the kids are learning to do the forms properly. They really take their time with the kiddos. I have a 6 year old and a 3 year old enrolled in their age appropriate classes and couldnt be more pleased with the discipline and karate thy are learning.

Ive taken several of his Womens self defense classes and he is always adding new techniques to reflect what is happening in todays world. His anti-bullying component is crucial in todays society. Myself and Members of my family have used his techniques. THEY ACTUALLY WORK! YOU need his classes! I took a womens self-defense class from Matt and his team after a friend suggested I do it with her. Ill admit that I was nervous at first, but once I got in there with the other ladies (who I am sure were just as nervous as I was) and felt the humor and fun that the nature of the class was centered around, it was pretty fantastic! Matt and his class teachers take a serious topic and help you learn what you need to do while having a good time and laughing while doing it. The best part was putting what they were teaching us into actual practice... we were all working together holding pads for each other and it was a lot of fun. I learned a lot of things that make me feel I am less of a target now (I can see I was before this class) and will certainly do another to keep this knowledge fresh for myself. I am going to encourage my mom and friends to do the same.

Signed up for a womens self defense class and learned a lot. I hope I never have to use the skills we discussed, but when Im walking to my car, out walking the dog or going for a run - I am always thinking about never being a victim Also, the class atmosphere was very comfortable and I didnt hold anything back! Great experience and highly recommend.

Kaizen Karate is AMAZING! From the first day we felt welcomed and a part of the karate family. Sensei Matt is not only a great instructor but he also makes sure to teach honor, respect & integrity. Sansei Matt is an amazing instructor! He has so much patience with the kids and has really taught my child a lot throughout the year we have been there. He is extremely accommodating and has lots of different class times for the parents with different schedules. I appreciate him (and sempei Jack) for all the time and effort they have put in with my child. HIGHLY recommend this dojo for a place of karate, for beginners and those who have done karate before.

Ive done a couple of private self-defense lessons with Matt, the owner, and I learned a bunch! My wife also took his womens self-defense class and loved it. Before I booked those private lessons with him I stopped by and watched a couple of classes (the kids and adults) to check it out and was really impressed. Great family atmosphere, and the focus on self-defense is great. If I had kids Id put them in class.

Kaizen is a fantastic traditional school. Kids will learn karate, self defense, anti bullying and gain confidence and athletic ability. Adults will learn the best karate system around, while advancing at their own pace. Self defense and applicability is a huge aspect of this system. I highly recomend signing up.

I have my daughter in class at Kaizen Karate and it is a wonderful class. She love the class and instructors, they are some of the best around, they make learning fun and interesting.i would say if you are thinking about martial arts or self defense this is the place to go. My sons and I have been karate students for a couple months now and my wife and I have also taken a self-defense course here. I really like the self-defense focus of the karate. Every class we talk about how to defend ourselves, how to fall correctly and how to use our voices to get out of danger. The self-defense course is more geared towards women (hair-pull situation resolution, etc.) but I also got a lot out of it. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for basic self-defense or karate training.

It was scary dropping off a 3 year old to learn Karate, but meeting Matt (owner), and his wonderful family, and watching my son go from a crazy energetic little boy to someone that was following instruction, learning discipline, and having TONS of fun with the other kids, I now have to say that this was one of the best places I could choose to have our son go to learn something that I cannot provide at home. Great way to get kids out of the house, no matter the age, where they will be learning positive life lessons, and getting exercise! My wife is now doing a womens class too... Contagious in the most positive way!

I took Matts self defense class with 4 of my girlfriends. It was wonderful!! I learned so much, from how not to be a target, not to be the victim and moves to get out of any situation! The knowing what to do in such a quick and scary situation (instead of freezing in a panic) was so worth the money! I will take the class again and bring my 9 year old daughter this time? This is a must take class for women, kids and men too!

Kaizen Karate & Self-Defense has a entirely new and unique approach in their teaching method. As well as it being a traditional karate school it takes a real world related approach to Self-Defense. Sensei Matt has taken the time to develop a curriculum to provide you with the best Self-Defense skills for a real world application. I have a combined experience of over 20 years in different Martial Arts and had the opportunity to take a self-defense class here and learned a lot of NEW skills for situations that actually are happening in this world. I believe that every person who cares about themselves and their family should take this class. It is worth every penny spent plus some. What an amazing time!
