Was told on the phone that I would get a diagnosis for my mental illnesses. I didnt. I asked if I could do a telehealth visit because its a drive away. They told me they wouldnt do telehealth, then made me drive there to sit down and do a video chat. Thank you for the waste of 2 hours and gas π
Itβs like walking into a haunted house with a maze of shower curtainsβ¦ after u finish an encyclopedias worth of new patient paperwork β¦. your doctor isnβt physically thereβ¦ instead you sit in the corner of a room in front of a dusty computer screen and talk to a doctor that is in Miami living his best lifeβ¦. While someone, that doesnβt introduce their self, sits in the other corner behind another shower curtain typing or doing god knows whatβ¦ not mental health therapeuticβ¦.If you need to talk to someone in between your appointments, probably not going to happenβ¦ receptionist is as helpful as a splinter in your eyeball and acts as it patients are an inconvenience. At most you will get cold transferred to a Med tech voicemail that wont call you backβ¦ on the 4th time you call she wonβt be able to actually help you and is only another hard stop between actual communication with the provider. In my case, this individual talked to me as if I was not an educated person, acted as if me asking if my provider could send my script to another pharmacy that has my Med in stock wasβ¦ well she said βheβs not going to just send your script to a bunch of different pharmacies. You need to call and see which one has it in stockββ¦ and assumed I had not already done so. You will feel judged in every aspect of your visitβ¦ from the time u enter the maze of shower curtains, to the time they escort you to a back room and drug test you without explaining why ( and itβs sad to think how many people would just comply and not know the questions to ask), to the point you talk to a dr about intimate stuff that just seems like they are checking boxes rather than providing quality health care. Good luck.
This place is a complete hoax. They lie to you. Keep layering unnecessary drama. I went there for help and they have only caused more harm. They just want to drain your insurance
The absolute WORST doctors office and doctor Iβve ever been seen by. For a maybe 10 minute appointment AT MOST, you were lucky to get out of there in 3 hours. This is due to them βdouble bookingβ appointments. They would schedule a 15 min appointment, but could bill insurance for a full appointment. So extremely for profit. To the point of being sickening. And the total disregard for their patients well being should be criminal.
I was supposed to be scheduled 2 weeks out but was scheduled for 4 and things went very badly in that time. No way to get through to anybody but they will treat you like a child. I told them I wasnt coming back and they wont stop blowing up my phone. Do not go here, it is dangerous.
Best place around for therapy
Very depressing and drab waiting area. You are lead down dark hallways to equally as dark offices. Staff are not very friendly. They demand drug tests like everyone is a drug seeker.
My wife loves her PA and Phyc. Always a great experience!!!!
I was a patient here for a little over 6 years, they were treating me for my mental disorders that I struggle with daily and just a couple months ago they took 170 dollars for my appointment and then later that day called and said Iβm no longer a patient there and just took my money and ran. I highly recommend if you have mental disorders to go somewhere else for treatment this place does not care about you at all!
4 of my foster kids have participated in therapy here as well as medication management. I have always been pleased with their therapists. Two of my kids currently see Katie. The kids love her and I feel like their are making progress. Prior to being assigned they have always asked me what type of therapist I thought the kids would work with best. I felt that they took my information into account when matching my kids with their therapist. I absolutely love Jean in the medication section. She is a nurse practitioner. When we go see her its like going to see a friend. The kids love going to her office as well. She gives them stickers or small prizes at the end of their visit. The front office has had some turnover but Im glad to say the good ones are still there. Susan is a gem!
I have had a very positive experience with Winchester Community Health. The program they offered has made it possible for me to have success in my recovery. I am forever indebted.
If I could give it less than 1 star I would. The drama there is through the roof and the managers date each other. Pay is never on time and excuses constantly made. If your not part of the in crowd your screwed!!!!! I had to wait over a month to get paid!
Sent here for an evaluation and forced into relapse prevention without an addiction did absolutely nothing for me other than increase my stress level to the point that it affected my physical health causing me to go septic from strep and almost die requiring surgery I will never forget them even if I could I would always have the reminder of the loss of sensation in part of my face and large scar going down my neck to remind me of the name of the person whos responsible for the idiotic diagnosis that I can only assume was actually done so they could push for unnecessary treatment and collect the check
Honestly Iβve been here before for suboxone treatment. Itβs been 6 years now since then. Yes, everyone saying they take forever to see you and what not...honestly, I just believe most of you are just not doing what your suppose to be doing. They are super strict with drug tests and what medications are allowed and what insurances are acceptable and which are not. Iβm simply going for therapy now and we have no issues with them at all. They give good therapy sessions and work with us. Do right by yourself and youβll find this establishment quite acceptable.
Nothing but good thing to say about this place - they have been helping my son ( therapy ) they have gone above and beyond to work with our schedule. The staff is awesome. Just like any other practice they have a cancellation policy, and collect their co pay . I highly recommend.
High turnover rate on employees and none of them know which way is up. Ive been putting up with it for over a year. First, I have to be treated as a new patient because THEY failed to get my records from Colorado which means I have to devote 30 percent of my life to them fine cause Im serious about my recovery, whatever but then when I first started they schedule appointments for me and they failed to inform me about them and was forced to sign a paper saying if I missed any other appointments I would be discharged from the program? Not sure why Im being held responsible for their mistakes. Now my old case manager who said my appointments were booked for months in advance as well as my Medicaid rides decided to become a counselor and I have to basically retrain their new staff myself after spending 5 hours in their office they still dont have my schedule straight because before I even get to meet my new caseworker I found out I have no appointments nor rides scheduled and they gave my timeslot to someone else so abby wants me to come in early because she leaves early and spend another several hours of my life so she can threaten to kick me out because they want to close on my only days off that I devote to them every week I guess Im supposed to quit my job but thats ok Ill just have to go somewhere else because this is MY recovery not theirs Ive already jumped all the hoops Im supposed to but I will not be taking the blame for THEIR disorganization. They will lie and say its federally required that you do 4 groups or counseling a month and IF that was actually true they should be opening up their schedules for us we have lives outside of the damn waiting room
Ive been here for over 10 years!! Every visit Ive never had an problems.
The ABSOLUTE WORST place you could go to in the area. Rude, arrogant, uneducated staff and most doctors. A money hungry place with no sense of human decency. Donβt give this place any business. The way this place is operated should be reported. You will be treated like dirt on the bottom of their shoes. The only way this place could turn around is if they got rid of 95 percent of their staff, were made to go through a class that teaches courtesy, respect, how to not make their clients feel like disposable trash they can judge and change their policies so that they arenβt so ridiculously uncalled for. They all need to be educated on mental health. They should be ashamed. WCMH is appalling and no one looking for help should go here. I would stay away from here at ALL cost! They should be rated a big, fat zero!
I am going share the details of my first and only visit here in a letter to management. I will just say that I was a mental health case manager for most of my career so have known and worked with many mental health professionals. In addition I have had many, many mental health providers myself and scores of doctors and specialists of many kinds. I am very knowledgeable about all my conditions and medications and options as well as being a very good historian of my rather complex medial history. Never have I encountered anyone like the person I saw and never have I terminated an initial assessment midway through because there was no way I was going to work with her. But I did today. I was polite but in the interest of everyones time I simply stood up and said This is not going to work out. I am still kind of flabbergasted. I dont know anything about any other providers, but the staff seemed very nice and professional to me.
I have been going here for slightly over a year. I have had nothing but a good experience with all of the staff members and treatment. You have to pay for the service you receive. As far as being drug tested, I agree with the policy. If you are being prescribed medication for whatever reason in this particular facility, you should be drug tested. Maybe you dont abuse drugs or alcohol but this facility helps those who do as well as helps those with any mental issues. I dont mind being drug tested, I have nothing to worry about. The whole staff has treated me with respect and have always been very caring. I have referred everyone that I come into contact with, that are having issues, to please go see W.C.M.H.C.The bottom line is that if you want the help they are more than willing and able to help you. If you are not ready for help, you will not benefit from any facility. You have to be honest, willing, and able. If youre not no one can help you.I love this place, it has helped me a lot and I still consider myself a work in progress but arent we all. Thank you W.C.M.H.C, I am forever grateful!
They want to put you down for a no show when you call and tell them you have to work and cant make it in. If you dont work you cant pay them their money they have their hand out for. One who prescribe medicine isnt a doctor she is a nurse practitioner and never on time, never talks about the patient always about herself.
You know what I participate in out patient recovery here and if your doing the right thing and your honest there is absolutely nothing wrong with this place. They expect certain things from their patients if they are going to participate in THEIR program and thats called STRUCTURE and there is NOTHING wrong with that. If you dont like it dont go but ive had a good experience here Sharel Washington is kind and always has gone out of her way to make sure Im taken care of!!! Corey Kane, the lady over the out patient treatment, is very kind and understanding but also Stern and no BS when she needs to be which is a great quality to have in a leadership position that shes in!! The Dr that I see here is awesome and understanding!! Overall nothing but good things to say so far!!! Thank you Winchester mental health for helping me !!!
Was an employee for them for about a month the way they treated some patients is morally wrong. I worked up in Martinsburg the office manager had no clue what she was doing the office was hectic when itβs a simple solution. They herd patients like sheep because they cram them into 2 days for a program. So theirs 20 people in the waiting room and Iβm an hour past when Iβm supposed to leave. The office manager suggested that I call in prescriptions which is completely illegal for me to do since Iβm not licensed to do so. My drive to work there was depleted because they made me do all these things when itβs not my job to do them. They also only paid me 9/hr. I faked illnesses because I hated working their because I couldnβt stand the way they treated me and my co worker and the amount of work for the pay so they ended up firing me which was a happy day because I didnt have to deal with the god awful office manager. Iβm in school to become a cardiologist I now have the blueprint on how to treat patients the doctors some of them didnβt care about them.We also talked about how hectic the day was their and the office managers response was βyou donβt have to be here if you donβt want tooβ thatβs not how you talk to employees.(The picture is not me btw)
I had seen this place about three different times and the very first time I went as a new patient they never told me when the appointment got set up until after I was there waiting to see the doctor that they wanted a drug test from me. And I want to head I did my drug test but I was not too happy about that because they should have said something when I initially made the first appointment scheduled but nope. And as I was waiting for that first appointment to see the physician I had to wait four hours to have finally been seen. I thought OK maybe it was just that they were running behind and I saw the doctor is and when I saw him I had only talked with him for about two minutes. I was not thrilled I just sat in the waiting room for four hours and got to see the doctor for two minutes that was it. I was OK Ill try to again the next appointment wasnt bad I think I only waited for about an hour and a half which was better than four. And again I only saw him for about two minutes. Well I went in today my appointment was at 9 AM I did not get into see him until 10:48 AM And during my time while I was waiting I had to take another drug test. And when I had asked to speak to somebody about these drug test they sent a nurse over to talk to me about it and she was supposed to have looked into my file to see if I had signed anything stating That I was OK with taking random drug testing. Here was the funny part she could not find anything that I signed about taking random drug testing. After speaking with the nurse they put me back into the waiting room and then finally they called me back. When I walked into the room he had told me that he no longer wants to offer me services because I had forgot to tell him about one of the prescriptions I was on. No I have not seen the doctor for almost 6 months before this and how was I supposed to let him know about medicine change if I hadnt seen him. I felt pissed I have just wasted almost my entire morning waiting in waiting at that doctors office for him to tell me that he no longer wants to see me. Which I thought was funny though to because he knows that my. Memory is not good I had brain surgery about two years ago and I forget things a lot and I take on average about 15 medicines a day and its hard to keep track with all the medicines that I take which ones I told him and which ones I havent told him I was on, and then Not even giving you a chance to even tell him what your new prescriptions are. I honestly believe that he did not drop me because of my prescriptions I think he dropped me because of me questioning their drug testing policy and then finding out that I never had anything stating about their drug testing policy and that they could get in trouble for it. Please if you go there be careful, how is a doctor supposed to diagnose you if you only sees you for two minutes? And I also found out the doctor had missed diagnosed me and that if youd actually gave me medicine for this mix diagnosis it could have ended up hurting me. The staff nor the doctors are not pleasant or organized nothing. This company should not be in business! And if there was a way to get this 0 star I would but I have to at least get one star but they dont even deserve that.
Was told I would get a call back for a new patient appointment within the next couple of weeks. My therapist called two days later to see why they couldnt get me an appointment and they blatantly said they wouldnt be calling anyone on their imaginary list for new appointments at all. Instead of telling me that, they chose to waste my time, and probably many others, when I couldve been looking for a different doctor.
Erika is Wonderful! The people who work there are kind and helpful. Had to loose a star for bad phone system.
My daughter had an appointment after being on the waiting list for a month and a half. My husband waits for 40 minutes after signing in before he checks back with the front desk and then they tell him that the provider has called out sick for the day. The staff is not friendly or helpful at all. Dont waste your money.
A place with this many 1 star reviews needs to be shut down. Especially a mental health center.
This is the BEST place for treatment ever. They truly care. As far as the negative reviews saying they were kicked out, I can guarantee that they failed to mention that they in all likelihood failed the weekend drug test. They will kick you out if you are lying or using drugs. They HAVE to be strict. I have been dealing with them for years for my medication and have nothing but great things to say about them. They treat some really shady people who always are caught in the end. Some ppl manipulate to no end to get the type of medication that they seek from the doctor. It is a great place.
This is most unorganized place ever. I am surprised no one has shut this place down, it should get shut down! They dont respect anyone! The way they treat everyone, including their employees is just wrong. They are extremely unprofessional. I hope they get shut down soon, do NOT recommend at all!
I went to this place for about 6-8 months. Not even really. I had an appointment in October, but the person I was supposed to see cancelled on me. Yes, it was on me to make a new appointment, but having the mental illness I do, it makes it super hard to call. I NEVER heard back from them to check in. Finally, when I got back up here for school, I had the courage to call and refill my prescription. They did not answer, but called me later (I was in class and could not answer). They left me a message saying that since I had not seen any of their doctors in 6 months (which it hasnt been because my appointment before the October one was in August and thats 5 months) I was no longer considered a patient and would have to do all the things and paperwork I did back in February 2018 to become a patient again. But that costs me so much money and time because they take forever to see their patients for a 5 minute appointment.
Called 17 times in three months to make an appointment, left a polite message almost every time and never got a call back. I was a patient but apparently had been marked inactive. I went to the office because I really needed an appointment and they said my doctor was no longer there and they couldnt see me. There are obviously some managment or staffing problems. Also seems like they cant hold on to doctors. I think they only reason they are still in business is because there are no other options in Winchester.
They donβt answer the phone or call back...I called in January to get an appointment with someone. Itβs the end of February and I havenβt heard from anyone
This place sucks to the person being like if they treated u like that it was your fault no not necessarily; I went to them when I was pregnant so I obviously wasnt abusing drugs but they treated me like I was they treated me so bad I left that place crying bc the doctor made me feel like a bad person and a bad mother which was uncalled for, for starters but secondly they had no right to treat me like just another one of their junkies... people shoot up their subs in the bathroom I found a tourniquet someone left in there once or twice and people day drink out in the parking lot its been over a yr since Ive been here but I will never go back either bc this place is horrible...I never failed any drugs tests or did anything wrong to cause this stuff to happen to me either... which they will drug test u btw whether youre on a controlled substance or not if youre looking for a place where they treat their ppl worth a damn look elsewhere! You have been warned!
A horrible, terrible experience. Under no circumstances would I ever go back. I wish SO MUCH I had switched to a different office sooner.First, the wait time to be seen for every appointment was 2-3 hours, for a MAYBE 15 minute appointment. So I basically had to take an entire day off work. (At my new office I wait 5-10 minutes, and the doctor apologizes for that wait!! I laughed the first time he said that.)Second, if you needed any paperwork done it was going to cost you $100-$150. And it was going to take 2-3 weeks for completion. (My new doctors office does it in a day or two, and its free.)Third, I had been going to this office for 3-4 years to manage my severe depression and anxiety. Toward the end of my time with WMHC, I had multiple appointments with Doctor Winfrey over 9 months to a year where my condition was not being managed with the baby safe meds I was being prescribed, and I was having difficulty functioning. I let him know this at multiple appointments over that period of time, and he just said there was nothing he could do, the two meds I was on was ONLY what I could be on. I truly felt hopelessness and despair. I honestly did not know what to do. I switched to my new doctors office shortly after that, and they said there were many baby safe medications I could take. They switched my meds, and I started to see improvement with in two weeks! After suffering for nearly a year.Fourth, they started randomly drug testing me. I have no idea why. I dont do any drugs, and Im not on any controlled substances/medications. I had been going for 3-4 years, and was only drug tested once at my first appointment. When I asked the nurse why all the sudden I was being drug tested at multiple appointments, he said it has to do with insurance, and needing to drug test more. At my new doctors office I have not been drug tested once.Fifth, Dr.Winfrey recommended that I start going to therapy. So I started going, and went for about a year. At first I was seeing a younger therapist. She honestly was not very good. She was judgmental, not sympathetic, or helpful. Due to life circumstances (holidays, family, work, etc), I was suffering from debilitating depression and some unhealthy coping mechanisms. She forced me to do an assessment. Which until that is completed and reviewed, you cannot make additional appointments, your upcoming appointments are cancelled, and you cant see your Doctor. I ended up having my medication appointment cancelled, and I was out of my meds for two weeks before they could get me in for another appointment. The whole situation was horribly embarrassing and humiliating. Multiple employees in the office apologized that had happened to me, and said there was no reason it should have happened.Sixth, (the breaking point), my last appointment with Dr.Winfrey. He was exceptionally nasty to me. And said I dont believe you have a problem AS HE WAS WRITING PRESCRIPTIONS. I could not believe it. I was so upset and honestly hurt.I am so glad and relieved that I switched to another office, which is also located in Winchester. I am treated so much better. At WMHC they say they will treat you with dignity and respect, I do not feel that is true from my experience there. It felt like I was just another number they could cram into an appointment that day to make more money. I honestly do not believe that office is there to help any of its patients, or care for the patients mental well being.I wish so much that I knew there were other choices for my care sooner. I cant believe how long I allowed myself to be treated poorly by that office, for services that me and my insurance WAS PAYING FOR.
Loved my daughters therapist, but the ladies in the medication department are awful, they have terrible attitudes and even worse customer service. They called me to reschedule my daughters appointment, then the day of the original appointment, they called to inform me I missed the appointment and would be billed for a missed appointment. Then she told me I was a liar when I told her that someone from the office called me to reschedule! Even continued to tell me I was lying when I gave her the girls name and said I could show my call log! Needless to say I wont be going back.
The business itself is not bad, but the receptionist up front (the older one) is very rude and disreguards her clients completely..... the others are very undestanding
Management terminated multiple providers in August of 2018 with no advance warning to patients or the providers. This action was unethical and life threatening. Many people were involved in these actions and I found out Im one of perhaps as many as 150.Two weeks later there has been one phone call but no replacement therapist .Peoples lives and mental conditions are being mauled and exposed to extremely cruel hardships with the management practices. Seeing a therapist was easy (after calling many times for an appointment). Seeing a doctor for medication was and continued to be an exercise in frustration. Long waits, inexperienced staff, zero compassion. As many others have testified, please, please find some other provider. I honestly believe this place will cause more harm than good and should be investigated, reprimanded to the fullest extent of the law and shut down with crippling fines!
Refused to let me keep an appointment the very first time I didnt have the full amount for co-pay despite begging and offering to give them my only gas money as a show of good faith. This after I was put on lithium and was concerned about side effects but kept being told to wait to for that appt. After this my mental health, which was obviously already bad, took a sharp turn for the worse, and has only gotten worse and worse since then. This was in 2013.I believe they call themselves Community Mental Health specifically to fool people; this is NOT the same as real community mental health centers that help low income individuals get the help they need.Im not even sure it was legal for them to turn me away in the state I was in, but they obviously knew I was in no state to fight it, which is likely what emboldened them to send bills for appointments I never even made with doctors Id never even met, which I obviously couldnt pay or even deal with.My life was bad before, but I can truthfully say my experience with these people has made it markedly worse.Run, dont walk, from these horrible people.
Just giving a 1 start because everyone else did. Wont be making an appointment. This many bad reviews you should not be open.
There may be a few decent doctors/therapists there, but there customer service is TERRIBLE. Takes FOREVER to get an appointment. Theres terrible communication. We will not ever return. I gave them multiple chances, but no more.
I am sorry to say this is the worst place to go they should be out of business by now.. they are money hungry there staff change all the time and that is probally because of there demonic ethic . They claim they are cristians but they are not.. I am so glad i dont need them for nothing.. from what i hear they are volating people rights all the time asking for drug test every time and then they charge the insurance company.. so that alone is inaurance fraud because the only time the docter will see you if you take the drug test .. what is that.???.. they need to be to be taking drug test each time they ask for one from somebody.. i hate in justice
This is the worst doctor.place ever! I have been going there for a year and if I make a appt say at 1130 doesnt doesnt matter if Im a hour early 20 mins early they are always behind 2 3 hrs EVERY SINGLE TIME I have never gotten in under 2 hrs . They triple book the doc they dont let you know when they schedule your appts. Worst experience ever to I have to take a entire day off work because they always are 2 3 hrs behind
This place is so bad I would not let my dog go.Go to Valley Health Outpatient. They are wonderful.
If I could rate this place lower than a 1 I would. They are by far the most unprofessional group of βdoctorsβ ever. Been waiting over 3 hours. Hereβs a thought...if you canβt meet your appointment, tell your patients. Itβs not even my appointment...but after this I may need one!!!
If I could give this place a negative score I would. They did more harm than good. The therapist my Granddaughter had should have her license revoked.
Couldnt do exactly what they wanted . Told to find help elsewhere. Wont try to work with me at all. Extremely bad and uncaring management.
The worst place ever dont care about you. All they care about is money.
Disaster of a health center. Showed up for a 1:30 appointment and they didnt see me until 3:30. The doctor ignored me and kicked me out after 5 minutes. And they never answer their phones.
