After calling ahead, I drove quickly from Goldsboro to Wilson on a Sunday to seek help after my young cat was clearly bitten by a snake. Bloody and swollen left paw. I checked in just before noon and called to check in over the next 4 hours as I waited anxiously in the car. I was told our 9 months old cat was stable and not much else every time I called. I was told he was being seen in one of my last calls, but that proved to be either a lie or the wrong information. After 4+ hours of waiting my wife called and had our cat released to us without treatment as Points East was failing to even exam our furry friend. The girls that brought our little man out to the car said perhaps it was a burst abscess or some other kind of animal bite. I am no scientist, but two puncture wounds and lots of instant swelling sure seems like a snake bite to me. Very, very, very, very disappointed. Go somewhere else if possible.
We went to the clinic with our 12 y/o cat. She had been sick for a few days to a week. The Vet was straight forward and told us she had a form of lymphoma. She could be treated with some chemo and steroid, but this would be truly palliative. The whole staff was very compassionate. They supported us when we made the difficult decision to put her out of her misery. The DVM was very compassionate as he administered the sedative and other medication. They allowed us time to say our good bye and snuggle with her, before the procedure and did not rush us throughout. Give this group a A+.
I dont understand why they dont have a 5 star rating,They are very professional and have great Vets and staff,I travel pretty far to go there but I wouldnt go anywhere else for emergency Vet services.
All the staff at Points East have been absolutely incredible. The took the absolute best care of my baby on her weekend stay. I cant thank the front desk, surgeons, and nurses who healed my baby, answered every question i could come up with and provided the absolute best experience ever. Definitely recommend taking your babies there if they need emergency care! I cant say enough great things about them!
If I could give them negative stars I would. After waiting 1 1/2 hrs NO ONE even checked on my dog. My dog ate 20+ grapes and only by the grace of God and her regular vet telling what to do before I got there is she still alive. I raced there for emergency care and was never even seen. IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE!
Been twice, bad experience both times. You would think if your whole business is emergency service you wouldnt turn away a lethal emergency because you only have ONE doctor. What emergency animal hospital doesnt at least have a second doc ON CALL?? My cat swallowed a poisonous lily, they told us on the phone they could take us, then when we get there 10 min later -- turned us away!! Said their ONLY doctor was in emergency surgery for the next 6 - 8 hours and the techs cant do anything. So I guess you just shut down? Not a drop of compassion from the receptionist either.Luckily we were able to get to Wake Urgent Care who took us right away and saved my cats life. Worth the thirty min drive. Wilson needs to get a real emergency vet.
Zero stars. Waited 4 hours for nothing. One of the worst experiences of my life. Communicate with your customers. Don’t have them wait in the car for hours & hours without reaching out at all. Terrible, hope you haven’t robbed my family of our beloved kitten. Awful!
We had to go take our 12 year old Boxer for a seizure. Everyone was very nice and worked in a timely manner. We ended up having to let him go that night and all of the staff we came in contact with showed great compassion. The vet we saw explained everything and sat with us afterwards the left us in the room alone as long as we wanted to stay. Even though their lobby is still closed they try to accommodate as much as possible
They helped me with my cat and made sure that he was okay and talked me through everything they were going to do and very nice staff
Amazing care! We are so grateful for this team of specialists. Professional and caring! So grateful for them!
We had to drive a little over an hour because our town doesnt have an emergency vet and we couldnt have asked for better service the were all very nice and very comforting we had to put our chihuahua down she had taken a turn for the worst and they gave fast and awesome service there arent enough stars for the team that served us early this morning!!
Took my fur baby Bj in for evaluation on May 12. Dr Taylor and her staff were great. Dr Taylor came out to the car herself, went over what would go on during the surgery showing pictures on her phone of the area she would be working on. Took the time to answer all my questions. On the June 14 (day of surgery) she came out and touched base again before starting her day. Called me after to give a report. I called every couple of hours till the next morning for check in and everyone was great.Next morning Dr Taylor came out and went over his procedure and meds answering any questions.Had questions after we came home...emailed question and sent pictures of surgery site they emailed me back in a couple of hours. I had a very wonderful experience with them. Would definitely take any of my furbabies to them.
My dog had an bad eye injury while his regular vet was out of town and so we had to take him to Points East. We went on a busy Friday and while we did have a long wait time it was in no way any of the staffs fault, they were completely swamped. The receptionists, techs, and vet were all so incredibly friendly and helpful.
I am beyond grateful for this clinic. They’re the rare kind of vet that you need in close proximity, as your dog wont ever become sick and bleeding nonstop during normal business hours of your closest vet’s office. The wait, which honestly wasn’t too long for a holiday, and the price for treatment were to be expected. When it comes to your four-legged family, you’ll do whatever it takes to get them better. I started my day fearing that I’d end it burying my best buddy, but instead he’s made a complete 180. All thanks to the foremost professionalism and care from the doctors and staff at Points East in Wilson.
Disappointing experience. I had an 11 year old dog that was in a lot of pain but they would not see him. Drove almost an hour to a different vet after waiting there for 2 hours and 30 minutes. Staff do not triage or communicate. Would not recommend.
I can’t begin to describe how rude she was. Physically shut the door in my face while trying to hold the door for her to walk in and then attitude to follow. I was dumbfounded. The older lady is someone you don’t want to talk to.The doc stated my pup wasn’t symptomatic and to keep tabs on his episodes which are a new dizziness and very wobbly walk. The problem is, is that the last episode hasn’t gone away which is why we took him in. This leads me to believe the doc didn’t really have a good look at him. She also didn’t read the paperwork we filled out, which was evident when my GF asked if the allergy meds could be causing it. Her response was, what allergy meds are you giving. The ones listed in the paperwork. This place was a disappointment, in a hard time with a loved pet.
Friday Evening I had my first experience with Points East. It was not what I had hoped for, but that had nothing to do with the staff. The Vet, Dr Ashley Wagner, and her technician showed beyond belief compassion. As I sat in the car waiting for the test to be run and to hear the fate of my sweet baby girl, they worked diligently to find out what was wrong. Due to the circumstances, they had to deliver some of the hardest news I’ve ever heard. Dr Wagner stood in the rain and never rushed me or my decision. Due to COVID I couldn’t go inside with her but as they called and talked with me while Sweetheart was back with them, they displayed the most professional and compassionate care for me, her mama, as I truly believe they showed her in the back. As I’ve gone through the past few days soaking up all the time I have left with her, I couldn’t help but think about just how kind and compassionate they were with me. The human....so I can only imagine the kindness and compassion my sweet girl was shown as well. I hope to never go back, because of the situation, but if it ever arises again, I will most definitely go back to them. With all my heart, I am so thankful and grateful for the care and concern we received!
Dr. Sonya and her team are incredibly thorough and are experts in their field! They are worth every dime you spend. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for your pet!
Poor customer service waits are too long. No timeline given. Unless its life or death not recommend
0 stars just to clarify! We waited 6 hours in the parking lot with our dog in critical condition! During this time, she lost her vision and hearing! We were referred there and I wish they would have done their jobs and helped our girl! Instead after a 6 hour wait we put her down a little after midnight! This place is a complete joke! Good luck to anyone taking their furbaby there!
They turned my dog away for a broken leg who is clearly suffering and in pain because I didn’t have they money up front but would have it a few days later when I got paid I don’t understand supposed to be animal lovers but evidently it’s all about they money
The People answering calls are very rude. They sound like they hate their job.
Our dog was not really moving but breathing she had a lot of seizures. They just ran test and up the bill even though they said she would not make it through the night. They did not ask any questions all test had already been done by our current vet. This place is a joke that only cares about money. -snowflakes mom
The staff is not professional at all. The rudeness over the phone and in person is hard to stomach, especially when you ask a question and they get mouthy and walk away or threaten to hang up on you, and not even try to fix the issue they created.
They are very rude, don’t want to attend my animal 🐈 and have a long waiting time! I went and a guy 🧔🏼♂️ was crying because our side the door because of the poor service! 😡👎
I waited over 6 hours outside with a transfer in place. My baby dying in my arms and nothing I could do. I ended up having to put my baby girl to rest because of money and the lack of care for time. While waiting inside to do the final steps with my baby girl the staff was joking and carrying on about another customer threatening them because he too was waiting forever. Do not waste your time or money at this location. The lack of concern and professionalism is such a disgrace these employees should be ashamed of themselves and should definitely find a new profession.
They to good care of my sweet kiani she went in on 1-24-21 an she wasn’t feeling good not eating so they tested her for parvo an she tested positive I couldn’t afford the over night treatment so I opted out for the home care an it work today day is 1-26-21 an my baby is back playing thank you guys so much 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I arrived here at about 2:30am because my dog was suffering from a loss of appetite, vomiting, and shortness of breath. They took my paperwork and had us waiting for over 30 minutes when there seemed to be no other current visitors.I left and received a call about 15 min later. I understand processing time but when my dog is having shortness of breath I expect a little haste in action.
I went there with my dog and right when we got there we had to sign a bunch of papers in an emergency and while we were doing that my dog died and they picked her up and told us she was dead :(
The vets and staff at Points East Vet Hospital made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process. Each time I talked to someone (vet or front desk or other vet staff) they knew my cat by name and knew her personality. They even recognized that she was nervous around people and put a box in with her so she could hide. They were very responsive to questions and helpful with finding what was wrong with her. Even after checkout, they received our call and attempted to help us with ways to get her to take her meds. And the person we talked to even remembered our cat and her behavior with meds! We are still having a hard time getting her to take meds and eat and drink but we know that they helped us on our way.Yes, it may seem expensive but we were asked ahead of time what tests and treatment we would want and they explained pricing to us. They even explained which tests may not be necessary or which tests could wait to help us save money. Good care and treatment comes with a cost and we understand that.Thank you to everyone who helped Nermal. We appreciate you.
Be prepared to spend your whole day and your whole wallet here.
Charged an arm and a leg!! Very expensive!!! and Did not helped my dog. Caused my dog to get worse (die) and would call to speak to a Dr and the receptionist would tell me she was with another patient, just to take my dog back to be checked after they told me he was doing really good and he was NOT!! Not responsible at all!!
Today was the hardest day of my life. I had to put my dog “Gucci” to sleep. I must say because of the doctor and the staff, they made it so much easier for me! I couldn’t have asked for anyone caring and loving than the staff that was on board today! They felt my pain and I loved the way they were so thorough with everything. The hardest part was getting home and my little boy running to my car and I’m having to tell him that Gucci didn’t make it! **tears**If I could give this place 100 stars, I would! Thank you all for you love and kindness!!
Dont call here and ask any questions about your pet prior to bringing to there emergency clinic. The girl whom answered was straight rude. Not surprised everyone is out for themselves nowadays.
Absolutely Amazing! Grateful to every Dr. And staff member that cared for our dog baby. Against all odds, he is alive because of their expertise and dedication. THANK YOU!
Our 1 year old golden retriever had a nightmare episode of eating 2 socks and needed major surgery immediately. Dr. Lupton, Dr. Barth, and Dr. Shepherd did an amazing job of taking care of our girl as well as calming our nerves and emotions. We had never seen her so sick and it was getting the best of us. The entire staff from the front desk to the vet techs made us feel at ease and were always willing to answer our questions and concerns. We knew she was being taken care of while we weren’t able to be there. We are so thankful for their care in what seemed like to us a nightmare situation!
I will never come back. They killed my dog luna through pure negligence. Lots of attitude, and little on the results side. Anywhere but here in the future.
Crystal and I just want to say thank you to Points East for the wonderful care you gave Roxi. Dr. Sonja, Cassi, Scarlett, and the rest of the team at Points East are hands down the best. They took extra special care of our 3 lb Yorkie and took precautions above and beyond for our tiny dog. Took their time going over all the information on the procedure and answer all the questions we had. Surgery for our little one went perfectly, they even gave us excellent home therapy care instructions, as well as follow up appointments. They kept open lines of communication with us, keeping us up to date on everything that was going on. I would give them more stars if google would let me, we cant thank you enough!
I cant say enough about this place. They saved my dogs life first of all. Secondly, the entire staff from start to finish was outstanding. They really were amazzzing. We were so impressed with the facility. Hopefully we wont need to go there again for another emergency...but its nice knowing that they will be there if we need to.
What a great team of people!! I had to take my daughters fur baby here and the experience was awesome. From the moment we walked thru the door, I knew we were in the right place. They were so caring, considerate and listened to our concerns. They explained the procedure thoroughly and the medications he would need to take and why. There was no rushing and they seemed genuinely concerned about our Kipper. I believe that with the plan they mapped out our baby will be back to his old self soon. Oh and the facility was gorgeous, clean and decorated to sooth a worry wort such as myself. They even provided snacks for us humans. Lol
From the time youll get greeted with service. Veterinarian with current well knowledge of the problem to my dog dutchess . Excellent service.
Friendly and you can tell they love animals and are very concerned for the welfare of your animals ( family). Wished we have gone there sooner for all our animals.
I have used Points East as a referral practice since they opened and have only received great reviews from my clients . They are essential to the Greenville NC and surrounding area. They provide excellent services to our clients and their bedside manor is #1. Thank you Points East!
Took very good care of my very ill baby.
Great people! They are great with the animals and really care!
Our pomeranian, Peyton, had surgery at Points East. We were so pleased with the loving and professional care he received. Everyone was friendly and we were very comfortable. Highly recommend Points East!
Greenville Clinic:Me and my husband called when our 8 month old dog got hit and broke her leg. We had called all around our area to get someone the see her because she was in so much pain and no one would! We called point east and they asked us how long it would take us to get there and to bring her in right away! we drove an hour and a half and every check up we do the same and its worth it. They did ex-rays and surgery that day! The staff is so friendly and thee place is so clean. They always take such good care of Chloe and I will continue to go back with both of my dogs!
A great asset to the community and surrounding counties.
Waiting is long but great service.
We took Jabo our chocolate lab to Points East after he was hit by a car and shattered his leg. The staff was so professional and loving to us and Jabo. Dr. Sonja couldnt perform surgery right away because of complications with anesthesia but they kept Jabo comfortable and we visited every two or three days for them to change is bandages. Finally able to do surgery and everything went great. The staff here is the most loving and caring vet staff We have every used. I would drive from almost anywhere to get this kind of care. More than worth it!,,
They were friendly and compassionate. They took great care of my dog.
Friendly staff. Very professional. Great results
They are get help when it to yu loss your dog
From the first to the last visit, we felt as if they knew us! Dr Sonya Szymeczek is a godsend to Greenville. She is very well trained, personable and did an amazing job with our 2 year old black labs TPLO! Appreciate the fact that her expertise needed to perform a TPLO was brought to us rather than our needing to take our dog to Raleigh. She did a great job and we cannot give enough positive feedback to her and her amazing staff for a job well done.
We waited 3 hours in a room with a sick cat and no one came so we just eventually left. No one even came in to tell us how much longer it would be or even to take his vitals, or just to check on us. It was so ridiculous.
When all three of my special dogs were at end of their lives and suffering, the staff there were professional and courteous to my grief. Highly recommended!
Worse service I’ve ever had. I arrived with a pregnant English Bulldog which usually does not give natural birth & was asking about a C-section & the technician told me they were short staff which wasn’t a problem but she would check with the doctor to see how long it would be before I was next. All the technicians waited on one person which was the only person there besides me, never came back to tell me anything about what the doctor had to say because they probably never mentioned me in the first place, & I sat there from 2am til 3:45am without being told anything. This was the worst service I ever had and I promise I’ll never go back.
