I had very damaged broken off blonde hair and sought help from Krystal to try to improve the over all appearance while keeping the length. She colored my roots toned and trimmed it plus added a special conditioning treatment. It feels like different hair. I could not be happier with the updated look she gave me with the blow out and style. Krystal was on time, professional and knowledgable. She took time to listen to and respond to my concerns. I highly recommend her. I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK

Krystle did an amazing job on cutting, coloring and styling my hair. She was very personable, easy to talk to and get along with while keeping me informed of each step of the process! She took my hair from a 1 inch brown root, faded pink mess with fried ends to and amazing and versatile style with lovely pink that transitions into an outstanding orange! I love it!

First Covid haircut, and I had to, I couldnt take it anymore, my very thin, very long hair was full of split ends and damage. Felt very safe and happy with the Covid precautions - they took my temp, had me wash my hands as soon as I came in, insisted on a mask, and for most of my visit it was only me and the stylist in the entire place. McKay was friendly, quick, very knowledgeable about my type of hair and gave me a great cut to remove most of the damage. This was one of my favorite hair salons pre-Covid, and Im very happy theyre still around.

Mercedes did an AMAZING job with my hair. Her coloring techniques are unsurpassed. I went in wanting a specific shade and we went more vibrant than we originally wanted. When my boss told me no way due to the brightness, she got me back in asap to tone my color down for me at no charge. She was informative and personable. Ive had many BAD experiences at salons in town with color since my hair is brown but she worked some type of miracle on my hair Ive never had before. Will DEFINITELY be back. That woman is MAGIC

All of the stylists are great! No high pressure product pushing. Handmade items in artistic gift shop including jewelry, bags and tshirts. I think they have a manicurist. Creative interior. The hairdresser who cut my hair was Gentry, but she relocated from Wilmington. If I still lived in Wilmington I would have my hair cut here. They know how to cut curly and mermaid hair.

I am unsure this was my first visit. Hopefully after another visit I can provide 5 stars. My hair came out much darker than it ever has. Being a natural blonde, I am very particular about my hair color.

What can I say, I go here for a great haircut, a d as of lately, coloring. Prices to me are reasonable. The staff there are friendly, the salon is clean, and you walk out with a great new look. Lauren is my stylist, and shes great! Always giving me advice and ideas on ways in which I can style my hair. I highly recommend this salon. I mean I drive from Shallotte just to get my haircut every four weeks, and colored every three months!

Diana and Ryan were my stylists for me and my mom. They were SUPER friendly and just down to earth! They knew exactly what we wanted and they did the job flawlessly and gave great advice on what to do to our hair in the days to come. They have snacks and once they sat us down on the chair they offered us drinks including wine! Amazing place all together, will definitely go their again!

Dianna was awesome! This was my first time at the salon, and everyone was so nice! Dianna gave me the best cut and color Ive had in a very long time and gave me lots of advice on taking care of the color and my curls.

I will definitely be returning to this salon! The staff were all very friendly and professional. Mercedes was fantastic! I have naturally curly hair and she walked me through step by step as she Devacut my hair and styled it in a way that I can finally manage. This was the first time in years that I havent walked out of a salon and immediately put my curls up in a bun.

I love it! I just wish they were taking walk ins. I am so busy and by the time I need a hair cut I just need to come in. Jobi usually cuts my hair and my bosss hair and she is amazing ( that why she is that busy, I know) but I had my hair cut by the first girl on the left hand side as you walk in ( forgot her name) and she did a great job! Therefore is correct to say that they are all good.Besides... the whole place is so COOL! Great music too.

Hallie is wonderful! I have very fine hair, and Im not into styling it daily. She gave me a cut that will look great with no product so I can just wash and go. Best of all, she was incredibly patient with me, taking the time to talk to me and adjust the cut so it was something that would look great, even with my low-maintenance approach.

I LOVE this place! The minute you walk in, you can tell it’s a different sort of salon. I’ve always been greeted promptly, offered a wine/beer/soda (not free), and then wait for my appointment in a super cute waiting room filled with fun furniture and local crafts for sale. Ryane does a fantastic job with my hair and I always feel heard and empowered to make big changes! I haven’t had anyone else there do my hair, but my interactions with everyone has always been great. I would recommend this place to anyone who doesn’t want to have a boring time at the salon!

Went in to get my hair cut by Dylan for the first time. I wanted shorter layers but didnt want to take anything off my overall length. He was completely respectful and did exactly what I wanted! This is the best haircut that Ive had in a long time. Ive been coming here for about a year now, and I can truly say that its the best salon in town. Love how innovative and eccentric the atmosphere is, and the professional level of customer service cannot be beat. You wont be disappointed!

Go see Dianna! My hair needed an overhaul and it was long, thick, boring with old bleach and color on the ends. I brought a couple photos in and Dianna nailed it! She gave me a beautiful bayalage and I really appreciated her hard work because I know I have a ton of hair to work with! She was really sweet, professional and a wealth of knowledge about hair! I will 100% be going back to her! I enjoyed the experience and my first impression was a great one of everyone there! I got to witness some beautiful cuts going on around me. Lots of skill here! I recently moved to Wilmington within the last 2 months. I had been looking for a quality barber shop in the area. I happened upon Rockin Roller. I was and am very impressed with the service. The barbers are all very kind and cool people. They do an awesome job with your hair and know what they are all doing. This place is great for those who want an edgy cut or wild colors. For a long time I would go to the usual salons and ask for a specific cut with reference pictures, but none of them ever seemed to do it right until I found this place. The 2 stylist I used to see no longer work there, but Id be willing to make an appointment with anyone there based on the work Ive seen.

Overall unprofessional environment. Got my hair chopped way too short after growing it out for almost a year. The haircut was not great either and I had to trim a couple of parts to even it out and its still not perfect. Its been almost a month since the cut and its not growing out right either. Its just not a fashionable cut, almost looks like a have a bowl cut! It is not edgy which is what I was looking for. I would recommend a master stylist when you schedule your appointment. I wasnt even offered the option and got stuck with the b team. I may have enjoyed the cut with a better stylist, but I still wasnt really feeling the vibe. A little too unrefined for my tastes. The amount of fake reviews on here is insane, which is so sketchy!

Cindy Lou is amazing!!!! She cuts my hair perfectly. I also get heavy highlights. My hair is coarse and I have black hair so other stylists havent always been able to get it blonde enough in one sitting. Cindy does great with my hair texture. Ive been to 4 stylists at 3 other salons in this city, and I finally found my new home for getting hairs did! The appointment process was super easy via web/email, the salon is funky and visually fascinating, and all the staff I talked to were very nice. Blythe did an outstanding job on my weird curly-wavy-frizzy-tangled-straight-hair, checking with me on length & such before deciding the do was done, and styling it the way I asked instead of forcing a straight blow-out like the previous stylists always wanted. Price was extremely reasonable, too. Highly recommend both the salon and Blythe, and looking forward to my next visit!

I cant rave enough about Cindy at Rockin Roller salon! She is so professional w the best understanding of what I wanted. I HIGHLY recommend her. Where do I start... as soon as I walked in and got checked in, they offered me something to drink. I waited less than 5 minutes and was introduced to a stylist named Dylan. He asked me what I wanted and I showed him a picture. After seeing the picture just for a moment, he gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever gotten. These guys are awesome. Friendly staff, great music and just an all-round fantastic experience. Highly recommend!

I contacted this establishment for have a silk wrap done. This is a process that involves straightening the curl of the hair and wrapping the hair under the dryer. Usually, the final results involve smooth, straight hair with body. Hence, the name silk wrap. Mercedes was my hairstylist. She was nice but my hair look fried and frizzy after she was done. A professional should never allow a client to leave the shop with their hair looking that way. It looked like I been through a windstorm. I called and spoke to the one of the shop owners James about my dissatisfaction shortly after. I emailed him as requested with pictures of my frazzled hair. He advised me that another hair dresser would contact me in a couple of minutes in order to fix the issue. A hour went by and no one called me. I had to call back and requested a full refund. The owner only gave me a portion back. I do not plan on using this salon again!!! One of the worst hair results I have ever had!!

Im a natural red head and she took me from red to blond and then took me back to my closest shade of red and it all was great! I was in Wilmington for a few days and decided I wanted to get my hair cut. I had checked out some salon reviews online beforehand, and decided that Rockin Roller would be great for me. I went in not knowing anyone, told the girl at the desk what I was looking for, and she set me up with Jobi. Jobi was great, she looked at the picture I had, made a few suggestions and I ended up loving the cut. She was so chill and the atmosphere was so relaxed, I loved being there. Thanks so much Jobi!

Rockin Roller is always busy because their barbers and stylists are great. They are professional and friendly. Grab beer, wine, or water while you wait. I usually have to make an appointment 3-4 weeks in advance.

This is my all-time favorite salon! Dylan has changed my hair game for good. I have curly hair and this is the first time in my life that Ive ever been able to embrace my curl. The Devacurl system is amazing. Dylan has also done amazing things with my color! Seriously, this is the happiest and most carefree Ive ever been about my hair. The salon itself is super cool as well: good music and a good atmosphere. Love love love The Rockin Roller!

Literally the WORST experience ever. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON. I wish I would have done more homework on this salon before I went. My husband and I are moving to Wilmington in a couple of months and during one of our visits to the city I decided to try a salon out so I could hopefully find somewhere that I could get my hair done once we move. I used to go to Rockin Roller when I was in college at UNCW and Tracy (who is no longer at the salon) always did my hair EXACTLY how I wanted it and was super talented with coloring my hair however I wanted it. I figured the rest of the stylists at this salon would be of the same caliber, but boy was I wrong. I reached out about getting an appointment and whomever it was that scheduled me put me with Sasha. Sasha as a person is so sweet and so easy to talk to. But I didnt go to the salon for good conversation. I asked for balayage with dark brown and carmel/blonde. The pictures you see here are the result. Not to mention that they charged me $165 for this mess. All in all, I will never be going back to Rockin Roller Salon. I would rather make the 4 hour drive back to South Carolina to get my hair done by my usual hair stylist.

I recently had a first time appointment at the Rockin Roller Salon. I have been driving over 2 hours for a specialty curly hair cut for the past 3 years. I did some research and stumbled upon this little gem. I scheduled a Deva Curl cut and color with Hallie. She made me so comfortable from the get go. It felt like shooting the s*&$ with an old friend. She really knows what she is doing. I was so happy with how my hair came out and officially trust my curls in some one elses hands, that is conveniently closer to home! I will definitely be going back for all of my hair wants and needs!

As a mom, really appreciated the time, attention to detail and communication throughout the process.As a customer, my daughter wants to share the following- I went to Rockin Rollers wanting a unicorn pink/purple dye look for my hair! It was done my Dylan and turned out really nice! It was just what I wanted! I had shown him a picture of what I generally wanted, which was purple tips into pink a little more than halfway up my hair. I also let him do what he thought was good, and it turned out awesome! Dylan was also very nice, conversational, and was happy to share his knowledge with me! I genuinely enjoyed my time there! I would definitely recommend this salon and person to do your hair!

I got my hair cut with Rosie. My hair is super long and curly but she took her time to make sure it was done right. Not to mention she had some awesome 90s rap going. I would recommend her to anyone!

My hair has never looked better. Not only did Ryane do a fantastic job on both my cut and color, but she taught me how to properly take care of my curls and make my vibrant red last longer. She also recommended devacurl, and I can honestly say Ill never go back to using my old stuff again. Love how my hair is on its way to becoming healthy again!

I have been a photographer in Wilmington for just under a decade. It has been my privilege to have a few members of the team at Rockin Roller assist with hair and makeup on magazine/editorial assignments, weddings and many actor and model headshots and portfolio sessions. The results are always pleasing to the clients. Rosie has been helping me since before she opened her salon. It has been very entertaining to see her progress and grow to the wonderful artist she is today. Britt always does topnotch work with the editorial assignments I send her way and Jobie is among the more entertaining and creative people i have experienced in the industry. The whole team is wonderful not just in their abilities but with their personalities as well.

I have been going to The Rockin Roller salon for years & now almost my entire family goes! This is a salon for everyone, for sure. They also offer a variety of spa services that I cannot wait to try. Our family stylist is Lauren, but before my family started going to her I became a client because shes a bit of a hair coloring prodigy with great prices. I feel like Im getting away with some great hair care secret any time I leave her chair. Shes also very knowledgeable with all hair care products & services, if you have any questions- ask away. The salon itself has the coolest atmosphere & is staffed with creative artists. They are very open minded with clients ideas, super relaxed and friendly. Did I mention the inexpensive rates? Other local salons are much more expensive with mediocre service and less creative staff. Not to knock other salons but The Rockin Roller absolutely has something special going on. Incomparable.
