Ive been coming here for 10 years and working with Kelly and a few others as needed. It has been absolutely life changing for me! Kelly and other therapists gently push me to be my best possible self. There is no way I would be where I am today (or maybe even alive) without Kelly and the other staff. I genuinely know that the debt I owe to Chrysalis can be paid off by continuing my own personal growth. I feel so supported by the front desk staff as Jessica has gone above and beyond to try to squeeze me in when necessary. I am so stoked on their latest addition Al. He is bright, positive and humorous- definitely lightening up my day!

I knew Kayj and Kelly (co-founders) professionally since before they started Chrysalis. I always appreciate their strong dedication to the work of psychology and the excellent level of service that they provide to their clients. I am thrilled that they founded Chrysalis and assembled such a strong treatment team. Chrysalis is my number one choice for the treatment of body image, eating disorders, Bariatric evaluations, trauma and related issues. Their counseling and Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program are outstanding. Over the years Ive referred many clients to them and I am always pleased with the quality of care that they provide. We are fortunate to have a program of this caliber in Wilmington. I recommend them without reservations.

If I could give no stars I would. I have never in my life been treated at a medical office in such a way as I was today. Booked appt a month ago. Yesterday at 3:27pm get email saying here’s a portal link to fill out paperwork followed by a voicemail saying I have till 5 pm to fill out paperwork. Voicemail I couldn’t check till after 5 when I had another voicemail saying appt cancelled . I fill out online portal paperwork that night and leave a voicemail about the cancellation. A lovely woman calls me in the am and says your appt is not cancelled and your paperwork was mostly filled out but you missed a few things and that I could fill out the rest when I arrived. Their portal as I was filling out paperwork was wonky and appeared to save but only saved signatures I did and not all our information. I arrive on time snd fill out paperwork missing spots and I’m literally finishing at 5:05pm Al comes up to me and just says your therapist needs an hour for the appointment would you like to reschedule. He explains that the paperwork wasn’t filled out yet he handed it to me knowing what I had left to do. I said to him yes I understand but I was told to finish it when I got here. He could care less and makes no apology simply tells me the portal was sent earlier in the month yet I never got it. He was so rude and short with me. It’s a shame good therapists have to work in this office and the office staff ruin it for them. Clearly they don’t have basic customer service skills and lack communication. I get it…about the time issue but communication could of prevented this by simply asking me for the rest of the information ahead of time rather than saying fill it out when you get here. And their portal is wonky so be aware if you are a new client. I have never just walked away snd not rescheduled honestly I can’t see dealing with AL every time we would need to come for an appointment. He lacks empathy and communication skills.

My son had one appointment, one, because they can’t guarantee regular appointments. Anorexia is such a dangerous disease and they do not make it a priority. DANGER- if you expect to be taken care of here, think again. How could they possibly help when all they are focused on is no show fees. They can not guarantee appointments in a timely manner and so there is no continuity of care.. The therapist emailed my son an email meant for administration, very unprofessional. Go to UCSD- San Diego, actual treatment!

Chrysalis Center is an amazing place. I have been with them for 5 years. From the Nutritionist, Chaundra Evans to the Therapists both individual or group sessions, they have been professional, caring and supportive. If you are truly ready for help they will guide you all the way through. I owe much of my success to them.

They don’t answer your phone calls and don’t reply to your voicemail messages. I had a billing question since I was charged way too much than I usually pay but no one seems to care to get back to me. I’m very frustrated at this point!!

Starting with Chrysalis when COVID first started, I have only done therapy via Zoom so far. With that being said, I have nothing but great things to say! I first started nutrition therapy with Lizzie to just get better with my eating and throughout our sessions, we both come to figure out that I have an eating disorder. I was also seeing a therapist elsewhere and wasnt making any progress so I was recommended by Lizzie to see Jay and I cant imagine the best team for my recovery! Both Jay and Lizzie are so kind, understanding, and really want you to succeed! I look forward to the day when I see them in person! Im so very proud about the progress Ive made and while I still have a long way to go, I couldnt have done it without the amazing staff at Chrysalis!

I told my therapist I could barely afford it. He told me the office would work with me. I Asked 2 different people in the office to help me financially because I would be coming 2 times month! No help whatsoever now that I cant afford to go they slap me with two no show fees totaling 120. They dont care about people all they care for is money! And just reading the rest of the reviews I see how this place is a joke. When I was in there both times they were turning people in and out so fast I couldnt believe they were getting any help! I might could have done 150 for 2 visits but they wouldnt budge so they can get no fifty! After the 120 there gonna steal from me!

I was going to go here but their responses to reviews are the major issue. You cant trust a company, that when a customer brings up a very serious problem theyve had, the companies response is, We dont wanna talk about that! We cant have people realizing we messup. So DM/E-Mail us instead ;)Just address their problems... Stop with the bulls**t Send us an email responses.

I have been interested in becoming a patient at the Chrysalis center for quite some time. Ive heard great things about Chrysalis! I have called the Chrysallis center over a span of two weeks. No one answered my calls. I left two voicemails, and was hoping for a call back. They have yet to get into contact with me. The fact that no one made an effort to get in touch with me after multiple calls, and two voicemails is very discouraging. :(

While I just started, I have had years of experience with counseling that failed. I have been treated with respect . The staff is professional. It is comforting to know that staff is trained and competent .

As far as scheduling and clerical staff go, this place is a hot mess. I traveled an hour each way for my saving grace(s) Rachel Hendricks and Courtney Gilliam. The drive and inadequacy of the front staff would have easily dissuaded me from ever returning if it hadnt been for those two women. As for a place that treated eating disorders, there had been multiple accounts of unintended oversights of front staff walking in with bags of fast food, drinking beverages that may cause triggering thoughts while attending to clients, and writing reminder notes to clients on FOOD themed post-it notes. Furthermore, there is seemingly no regulation of food talk amongst the clerical staff and overhearing such conversations can be especially upsetting. While I fully understand the need to normalize food in all areas of life, perhaps the waiting room of a clinic meant to treat EDs is not the best place.

I believe the Chrysalis Center has made a lot of positive changes since the negative reviews from a few months ago. I started counseling in May at the Chrysalis Center, which something I have always needed but have avoided. I am so thankful I chose to get therapy here. Kaitlyn is a wonderful therapist and Terri is an amazing nutritionist. Moriah is a wonderful face to see and speak with at check in. She has been so helpful in working with me to solve problems Ive had while on FMLA and has always been so positive and welcoming. I never knew therapy could be such a great experience and would reccomend to anyone. Even the lobby has great, funky colors and feels more welcoming than a typical mental health facility front lobby. I have 0 complaints about the Chrysalis Center, although I would NOT reccomend getting medication management from Shamika Huskey.

This place is a joke from the desk receptionist to the psychologist kelli and the nutritionist. Kelli is rude and tries her best to make someone feel uncomfortable about the surgery. Shed spoken with my dr before hand and knew I didnt want the surgery. My dr wanted me to get group therapy for trauma eating and kelli agreed. I went today for a visit with the nutritionist who got upset b/c I already had a plan set up to lose weight and heavily disagreed with keto and even though I didnt care about her opinion, I thought it was very telling of how little experience she had that she downed what I was doing but didnt offer any redirection. This company sucks at answering the phone but will charge you 60.00 dollars for being late or no call no show even though you called several times the Friday before to cancel. After I told the nutritionist I wasnt having the surgery, I got a phone call saying they didnt offer the services I needed, evek though kelly had told my dr they did. Im sure theyre only still in business because of how small Wilmington is and little resources. They wouldnt make it in a big city. Id never refer anyone to them.

The check in staff is rude, and they have a policy where they charge you $60 for being late. I was early and they still charged me for being late because I didn’t have the paper work done because they didn’t email it to me.

This place charges an $85.00 no-show fee. Furthermore, after failing to notify of the charge after several years, they will turn it over to a collections agency. Chrysalis will NOT accept direct payment at that point and will NOT allow the credit agency to accept a reduced fee to settle.
