A team of 5 painters arrived on time as manager, Josh, promised. No one smoked and no one cursed as Josh had explained. They scraped, prepped, and painted our house exterior at an incredibly fast pace. Their attention to detail was beyond compare, and their clean up was impressive. The most professional and nicest people ever! When I was having friends for lunch on the porch, they painted and straightened it first. They finished the outdoor job a day earlier than estimated, and we’ve asked them to put us on their waitlist for interior painting. Get on their list now. Manage your expectations; they are in great demand so you may have to wait a few weeks, but the wait is worth it if you want to guarantee a quality job.

Tinney painting was wonderful!! We had to have our dog grooming salon repainted but we are open daily until 5 PM so we were unsure when they would be able to paint. Our home is a 1400 sq ft bungalow in the historic district. We hired Tinney for interior and exterior painting because they have done a lot of work in our neighborhood.Josh came out to give us an estimate and had no problem wearing a mask in 95 degree heat as we walked around the house together. Tinney Painting has just completed the painting of the exterior of our home. The person that came out to give us an estimate was very professional and thorough. His estimate was very fair. The crew that did the painting arrived on time and were very efficient. They finished the job in just a few days and in the process found several pieces of wood that needed to be replaced. The company sent out their carpenter to replace the damaged wood and finish the painting of the new wood.I was very pleased with the finished product and the final price. I’ve used Tinney twice now. Once to do a full interior paint and repair on a rental that was getting ready to be sold. The home was higher end and I was concerned about the damage done by the tenant. They came in and did the job right and made it look brand new. We also just used them to stain our deck, paint the exterior trim and repair some damage on the interior. Again, professional, on time and the job was done right.

Tinney did a tremendous job on our exterior house on Figure Eight outside Wilmington, which has several levels as well as decks and was in great need of painting. The price was extremely fair (and we had several companies provide bids) and the bid provided us with options for additional work, which again were very fair and clearly described. It was a busy time of year; however, they were very honest when the work would start and how long it would take. They were professional throughout the process and very attentive and responsive to any questions or suggestions.

Never showed up or answered phone again. We scheduled an appointment for hurricane boards to be put up more than 24 hours in advance of the appointment. They told us we were scheduled for 3pm. They arrived to do our neighbors boards at 4, and ignored us-- never answered out calls, nor called us back to let us know if they were coming in the following 3 days before the storm. If they had just let us know they werent going to make it (or even that there was a possibility of not making it when we scheduled) than I would not leave them a poor review. However, we depended on them to help protect our waterfront house and family from a strong hurricane, and wouldve had time to hire someone else if they had the decency to communicate with us. Not a kind way to treat people with a pending natural disaster....

John Tinney and his crew were the most professional, dependable and diligent of any painters I have engeged in my lifetime. While that sounds like hyperbole, it is a fact. Tinney provided a quote based on scale of work, on a modern home with complicated access and heights. Without any back pedaling or hint of concern, the job was delivered on time and on budget, which should be expected. But in Tinneys case, the crew went the extra mile to make sure the work was what was promised, even if there was a need to add an extra coat, for which there was no change order or added charge. Prices are way to high. We have a wooden fence around our townhouse and I had four quotes done. Every other quote was under $700 for painting and they quoted me $3800! The fence was only $4k new to install.
