Just avoid them at all costs. Despite good NPs and Psychs, the administrative staff ruins the practice. My original NP left the practice, with no notification to me. Recently, I’ve desperately needed an appointment with a new one. It took me nearly three weeks to even get a human being on the phone to discuss scheduling. I have now been anxiously awaiting my much needed appointment for weeks, and then received a call that my new NP had something “come up”. Now, I have to wait another month to be seen. Not to mention, you rarely reach any of the admin on the phone, and instead play phone tag for days. Really careless staff, knowing that they are dealing with mental health patients.

Catherine Doty is one of the best psychiatric nurse practitioners out there. I’ve being seeing her for 10+ years when her office was off of Kirkwood Hwy now in Newport. She engages with you and listens and gives great feedback. She makes you feel comfortable. She’s got a patient for life.

Im so sick of this every single time i run out of refills i have to call them nonstop for days and days and days just to get through to my doctor. Is the receptionist even there? she never answers the phone and i can call every 10 minutes for days and not make it through once.

Catherine has been my psychiatric nurse practitioner for many years now; and I absolutely 💯 percent love her! She is very easy going, listens, spends time with you, and really cares about your concerns and problems! Catherine is the best and I would never see anyone else for medication 💊. She is the best in Delaware hands down! I highly recommend her!

I had seen Catherine as well as Ana Maria and appreciated the help and therapy given by both. My son had great results with Ana Maria as well. Unfortunately due to changes within our household, we experienced a lapse in visiting. During the pandemic, with ongoing mental health issues, I reached out for my son and I to be seen there. The majority of the staff I encountered was rude, uncaring and callous in their handling of calls, and the way they spoke to me. I have been told (after waiting for WEEKS) that no provider is accepting new patients (of which my son and I have been deemed because of the lapse in treatment.) It doesn’t matter to whom I speak that I am experiencing crisis- they don’t care and I seriously doubt any “messages” from me are being relayed to any practitioners or therapists there. It is disheartening, frustrating and disgusting that in this age of serious mental health crises, a staff has been employed that care nothing for those suffering and seeking help.

I guess recovering addicts can not be treated for add/adhd. NP told me she would not treat my disorder knowing Im in recovery. How is this possible?

Ive read all the reviews and I agree. Catherine is amazing and my daughter has been seeing her for more than 10 years. Catherine talks to my daughter and I even have conversations with her. However, her staff do not relay messages, are rude and need training on how to deal with people. My daughter has went without medication as well due to staff glitches and I have had to call 5 times to get meds ordered. There has got to be a better system OR get rid of staff and get new staff who take pride in what they do.UPDATE May 2019 - med orders continue to be a problem with staff relaying. Catherine we all love you but we dont love your staff or the lack of efficiency they have

I really enjoy going to Delaware Behavioral Health. Catherine and Anna Marie are great ladies to talk to. I dont know how I would make it without both of those ladies. Both of them take the time to listen and you never are made to feel like you are being rushed to end the session so they can move on to the next patient. So I want to Thank Both of Them for always listening and being there for me thru all that Im going thru. Dr. Doty is an amazing doctor. If youre looking with somebody with an amazing track record and credentials out the A, shes your doctor. With that being said (and the reason Im only giving 2 stars), her front office is complete garbage. Ive waited over a month for the front office to send out a form to my insurance company and nothing has been done. Ive followed up with my pharmacist, insurance company, and the front office at this location many times over the course of the month. One day they say its being sent out, the next day they say its on the list and will be out in a few days. Ive been more than patient with them. The front office does not realize that they work for a psychiatrist. The livelihood of most of the patients there depend on the meds prescribed by the doctors here. They are not reliable and, honestly, doesnt seem like they deserve to work there. There are other people who desperately need a job and could do it better than them. I recently left a voicemail (because getting a hold of them is damn near impossible) to cancel my upcoming appointments. How can I have a 1-month follow up when I havent been able to get my meds due to their incompetence? It really is a shame. Again, this is by no means a shot at Dr. Doty or any of the doctors that practice there. They are wonderful and great and have everything anybody would want to back it up. Unfortunately, they dont have the staff to back up their medical prowess. To this day, I am still without my medicine.Update: changes have been made. Upd to 5 stars.
