Overture helped guide how to make a step change in my stereo system. A key was moving from just accuracy and detail to bring in the various harmonics to have the music sound musical and have a fullness with detail. They recommended the Hegel H590 to maximize the potential my speakers could achieve. I am extremely satisfied with the Hegel H590. The fullness of sound and harmonics is amazing. It has upped the game of my speakers to a new level. The fullness in the bass and mid base is amazing. The control of the speaker flows out of detail that is full and not just the note, but as they assured me the second and third order harmonics the Hegel provides makes the notes sound musical and full. Thank you Overture for years of guiding my path to pleasurable listening.

My experience started with my reading an ad offering trade-in credit towards the purchase of audio equipment. I thought, what-the-heck, and submitted a list of my current equipment. Dave Mason was so quick to get back to me and make me an offer that I could not refuse, but most importantly, he treated me like a friend with absolutely no pushiness and with kind advice. Its kind of scary sending several thousand dollars far away without any assurances of it being a legitimate business, so I thoroughly checked Overture out. My search seemed almost unreal as every review and different area that I checked revealed a very reliable place to buy. I even checked out Google Maps to see if their building was really there. As you can see, I needed a lot of reassurance and was totally satisfied with what I found. I did notice from one reviewer that if you come in the door in person, you better be dressed right and look right to get the right attention. But that didnt matter for me as I could look like a slob and work with Overture on-line and on the phone. Dave walked me through the process of buying from them, gave me some advice regarding alternatives to what I was considering buying and why my choice was a good one. I bought a Marantz AV8805A Processor Preamp. It came double boxed, shipped by UPS, and arrived two days after I ordered it. Overture is absolutely incredible and Dave Mason made them so for me. Ill be back... and back... What a wonderful experience!!

Being my initial foray into higher end audio, I was a bit intimidated with HI-FI stores. My experience with Overture audio quickly dispelled that perception. I found Bo, our sales consultant, was so easy to deal with, with no pressure selling and extremely helpful about my choices. Super happy with the trade-ins I got, I was able to move up a notch on my speaker choice. Bo set up an audition of the equipment I was buying and was really patient in answering our questions. I had to wait a bit for the equipment given shipment delays and Bo made sure I was kept up to date on arrival times. I couldnt be happier with the purchase and the experience with Overture I wouldnt think twice about recommending them. Kudos to Bo and Overture for an excellent customer service.

Toward the end of 2020 I decided to explore getting a new stereo system in order to re-discover the records and audio files in something other than my TV sound bar or in my car. I found that, after trying the big box stores, I needed to identify a real hi fi / high end stereo store. Overture Ultimate Electronics fit the bill resoundingly with exceptional service, truly knowledgeable sales personnel and an elegant environment where you can actually see the latest in audio (and video) in actual living, non-YouTube environments.I took advantage of a trade-in program in order to purchase the Hegel H120. My sales person, Dave Mason, let me know that it would be a few months until the unit would arrive from Norway. During that time he kept me updated frequently, and now I finally have an outstanding amplifier that has absolutely enhanced my home system. It seems rare to find such a high caliber of customer service, but you will find it when you choose to work with Overture.

It was exactly the model I needed, very well packed, and it arrived on time. Every email was promptly answered, and he was extremely knowledgeable about what he sold. Recently traded a pair of speakers I owned for 20 years for a new pair of Sonus Faber Sonetto VIII. Dave Mason was great to work with, he really took the time to listen to what I was looking for, he was very patient with all my questions and helped me find a great deal in my budget and offer a nice trade on my used speakers. When I drove to the store he took the time to let me listen to the speakers and help me decide. Beautiful store, easy to work with and Dave was awesome. Highly recommend.

He helped me with a trade: Kanto YU6 speakers, desk stands and upgraded cable towards an Ortofon 2M Bronze cartridge. Wow is all I can say with the sound coming out of my Kanto Tuk Speakers. I have been a customer of Overture for over 20 years, and since the beginning Ive worked closely with Joe Jezyk. Joe has always offered serious insight into the best equipment to achieve my listening goals. My most recent purchase, upgrading my amplifiers from Rotel to McIntosh, has been revelatory to me; I am now hearing weight and nuance to my music and the upgrade has greatly improved the performance of my speakers. I also highly recommend Overture whenever any of my friends or acquaintances discuss audio/video equipment and who is best in the area to help them. Overture is, quite simply, the best source of information and quality equipment in my area!

I review can not express how pleased I am with the service from Overture! My wife walked in early in December, simply just to get an idea of what it would take to have a theater system installed in our home and we walked out with a lot of information and options to consider. The sales staff is a no pressure team that doesn’t push anything not the customer. We spent almost 2 hours on our first visit talking with the Sales Manager and going from room to room learning about the options available (they are limitless). We explained what we had in mind and were shown some set-ups that would give us a similar composition. At the end of that day, we left with an education and a plan to have Overture come out to do a detailed look and build us a project plan and estimate. At no time did anyone ask my budget and I didn’t volunteer it - they truly want to learn what I wanted without putting me in a financial boxOvertureThe field design was put together by the Project Manager and he spent an hour at the house taking measurements and understand exactly what I wanted. Again, no sales pressure, just a simple understanding of what I wanted. We talked about the sound, the set-up, the hardware he would recommend, he took my feedback and gave me some ideas on what price point each of my “wants” would range in.Within a few days, I received my estimate with several options and they had hit my internal budget right on the head! I went back into Overture and we talked through some options and made some revisions to the estimate and I approved the project. Through out the ordering, planning process, the staff kept me well updated and alway took time to answer questions, even if they were silly questions (to me). They gave some recommendations on the room I was remodeling and how to best plan for the installation.After a short period, the equipment arrived and my room was ready for the installation. Their install team were fantastic! There was a day of pre-wiring and those are the same guys that can back for the final install - I think thats awesome! They knew the system and were there to warp up the final installation. The install took place over two days, hardware and final wiring on Day 1 followed by final programing, adjustment and tweaks the following day. Day two was more personalized service, working with the Field Technician on how I wanted to view the picture, where we would sit to watch the movie, what window treatments we would have, controller options, speaker placement, etc - it was extremely personal and I didnt feel like it was HIS installation for HIS system.I have a few minor technical challenges on the first night (which I expected) but a phone call, text message and a quick follow-up had all my answered resolved and even had a visit from the Project Manager to make sure I was fully satisfied with everything.I have to be honest, we initially went to Magnolia (Best Buy) for a consultation and in store, they were fantastic, giving me every answer I asked for, the follow-up was horrible. I booked an appointment, never heard from them until 15 minutes before the start of the appoint - which was prompted by me leaving a voicemail earlier in the day letting them know I could be available sooner than our appointment if needed. I received some song and dance and finally agreed to get a call back in a few days to reschedule. Here we are 4 months later and I never received a call back… I believe truly that I wouldn’t have been as satisfied with Magnolia as I am with Overture.Overture has put a childhood dream of having my own full blown dedicated movie theater right in my own house. Special thanks to Roni, Jeff and the install/technical team for everything.

Please do not shop at Overture.My husband and I went there to appreciate the craftsmanship of high-end audio equipment and to support local business. When we entered the store Roni “greeted” us and followed us around watching and looking over shoulder as if we were trying to solve a math problem and didn’t know how to do it. It was equal parts intimidation and demeaning tactics. My husband attempted to start a conversation with Roni over a myriad of topics ranging from audio equipment to physical media; he is an audiophile.We will NEVER return to Overture after this horrible experience.

The services are good (and costly) but they are incredibly slow to respond. Getting them to do anything requires multiple follow ups which are often unanswered. If you are extremely patient and cost is not a consideration, then this is the place for you.

Im happy to relay that a short two-hours after posting the review below, I received a call from my Overture salesperson to express not only sincere regret for my experience, but also took the time to briefly sketch how they would improve their notification process. No excuses, just contrition and well do better going forward. I believe them. My kind of company...perhaps I can save that 6% after all. Thanks again Team Overture...the call was appreciated.Just highly disappointed in the lack of feedback on a recent purchase. I consider myself a discerning and well researched consumer and enjoy partnering with retailers that place customer service high on their list of priorities. The Google reviews found here and, frankly, the bonus of tax-free shopping led me to Overture, despite having some excellent high-end audio stores in the metro D.C. area. I’m fortunate enough to have a $75K budget to equip listening and theater rooms for a home currently under construction, but nowhere to put the equipment in my two-bedroom apartment. But, I could take advantage of the Salamander Designs 15% off Winter Sale and did so by phoning in an order (you can’t place the order online) for an AV cabinet with Overture on February 22nd, the last day of the sale. When I placed the order, the salesperson told me that the supply chain was a little uncertain and I completely understood that, given the pandemic…and that was fine given that the home wouldn’t be ready until April. Fast-forward to March 11th when I followed up with the salesperson who told me they would “check” the status and get back with me in a few days (what about the Salamander customer service portal for vendors?), but no later than March 15th. On March 11th, while, fortunately, sitting in my fifth-floor apartment and not in my downtown office, I received a call from the freight company that they were outside with a delivery for me. A 270-pound curb delivery.Contrast the customer service shortfalls above with an order I placed, same day, online, with a Virginia retailer. Realizing that I still needed a specialized Salamander AV cabinet to support a planned ultra-short throw projector purchase, and that I should maximize the savings opportunity, I looked to make another purchase, but Overture was already closed. So, I made the purchase that night online. The Virginia retailer made an unsolicited follow-up with me on March 6th and provided shipping status, to include a tracking number and shipping company. I was able to “phone a friend” and have furniture dollies available to get this cabinet in the apartment.Perhaps my experience was an outlier. The last thing I wish to do here is disparage Overture or the salesperson. Given the many excellent reviews here, I’m sure Overture is a fine company, and my salesperson is a hi-fi savant, but my expectations for when I should expect to receive my order is a customer service fundamental, particularly for a freight purchase. The salesperson is only a day late, but I still havent received that status phone call. Going forward, I’ll just pay the 6% tax.

I purchased a Rogue Sphinx V3 Integrated amp from Bo. I had a great conversation with Bo about the equipment I was considering and he was very knowledgeable, professional and personable. I traded in an existing amp and the process was very smooth, plus I felt like I got a reasonable value for my preowned equipment. The only drawback is that I had to wait a few weeks for the new amp to arrive since the factory had gone through a shutdown due to the Pandemic and Overture did not have one on hand. Being an impatient person, I hated to wait but I completely understood and Bo kept me in the loop. Now that I have the new gear I can say that it did not disappoint in performance. Definitely well worth the short wait. The Sphinx V3 has plenty of power and compared to my old equipment it seems more pleasing to the ear. I would highly recommend Bo at Overture and the Rogue Sphinx.

When you shop in NYC for high end audio, You must leave your credit card at the front desk before you do any audition . Be well dressed and a lawyer, Doctor or design artificial intelligence . When your listening to a unit or a pair of speakers another salesman walks in, shuts it off while you are listening .Puts on what his customer wants to hear ! Wonder why the murder and assault rate is so high in New York .

The HI FI stores in NYC are the absolute worst and brutal experiences I’ve ever had and will never spend and red cent ever again. Having tried out a couple of high end audio stores in Virginia, and dealing either lack of interest or the inability to compare systems, I decided to make the drive out to Overture in Wilmington. I couldn’t have made a better decision. From the setting up the appointment, being allowed to compare options against my music system, hours of auditioning, being helped through a completed unrushed process, and getting a great price with a fair trade in, everything about my purchase experience was great ! I am the proud owner of a Hegel h190 and Focal aria 936 speakers. I really appreciate Dave Mason for his knowledge, patience and help in completing the acquisition.

Terrible Customer Service. I only purchased and paid in advance for $4000 worth of upgrades so I guess Im not deserving of any customer service. I placed an order with them that I would regularly call to check on. The manager kept claiming it was coming, but it never came. And, actually, no followup was really ever done to determine the extent or reason for the delay. For all I know they screwed up when they put in the order.Whatever the reason it took six weeks to get one of the items when another seller got one for me in 10 days. If I had been told from the outset there was a problem and an actual effort was made to get the order I would not complain, but they are very lackadaisical there, to a person.Maybe you have to spend $50,000 to garner attention from the staff to get your order. I dont know. If you have too much money and want to dump it on some business, this is your place. If you want to buy something and get value, service and support from the beginning of the purchase all the way through, I suggest that you go to another outlet. There are plenty of sellers that respect their customers enough to make sure they are satisfied. This place couldnt care less.There will be a response from the owner trying to apologize with some sales mambo-jumbo that they strive to satisfy all their customers. Do not believe their response. Read all the reviews, the response is always the same.Caveat Emptor.

Im drug here by my boyfriend whom is into high-end audio equipment... but let me tell you the people who are here are amazing!! This last time we were there my 13yr old daughter came along and was checking out the headphones and the one guy there I do believe his name was Chris, he took the time to show my daughter knowingly she wasnt able to purchase these higher end headphones but he treated her as if she was, he said this is were it starts and hes right..my daughter is now interested in purchasing one day better headphones..and they always treat you like family..my little brother also came along as well and they were showing him the vinyl they had.. so cool!! Not to mention they have some very interesting crazy products..speakers taller than me (Im 59) and so on!

I have shopped here off and on since the mid 90’s. Today, after a few weeks of email exchanges with Larry Ofcharsky, I had the most pleasant couple of hours in a long time. I am considering a major upgrade to my 10 year hold music/theater system. My primary focus is music and Larry set up an excellent demonstration of equipment that meets my desire to really up the music reproduction capabilities of my system and still meet my need to integrate into the video end of things. I had my ears opened up to an incredible analog source that IMO danced all over the extremely musical digital source that we had plugged in.If you’re making an investment in A/V systems regardless of your budget, you owe it to yourself to meet the team at Overture. Bought about $12,000 worth of equipment. After installed, the TV kept saying update. Lots of components. Was told only technician would know which update to do. This occurred very frequently and when it occurred could not use TV unless could get in touch with technician. It was only a little over a year since purchase when I asked to trade it in. They would not take any of the comments back or do any kind of trade in. Extremely unhelpful especially since my husband had a serious stroke during this period. This happened in 2013. Since then, just gave away all the equipment.

Called for service. Looking to have a pair of Klipsch speaker grilles recovered. Guy I talked to said we dont deal with Klipsch, so I can cant help you.While I can appreciate that as a non-Klipsch dealer, they dont service their products, however what I was seeking is not a Klipsch-specific service, just a re-cover of a grille, for which I already have the frame. So, its pretty much a generic repair that I would expect any self-professed high-end audio retailer to be able to address, or at least have a resource to which they could refer me.When I asked to whom they would refer a customer who needed a grille re-covered, he curtly and quite rudely retorted to the companies we do business with. For real, dude? Is that the right answer to give me? Why be an A-hole?Not a customer yet, and based on this, probably never will be. No need to be rude, nothing in my approach warranted that. Based on this brief interaction, good luck getting support from these folks if you ever need it. First impressions matter.

I contacted Overture A/V (through their website) to get a price quote on a surround sound preamplifier. After 16 days, they wouldnt reply. I went elsewhere and bought the same item. Maybe theyre too busy selling $75,000 speakers and $130,000 CD Transport/DAC combos to millionaires to care about selling a $2500 preamplifier to a non-millionaire customer. Spare me the snobbery.

Update 9/17/2016The follow up reply from Overture to my initial review is all lie. All the facts they are stating in their defense are a complete, shameful LIE. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this liars.Be very careful with this shady business. Customer Service is non-existent here. Dave is very rude and unprofessional. Keeps on repeating the same thing like a robot!I wanted to trade B&W 802 Diamond speakers. I told Dave I have Pioneer SX-1980 in 8 out of 10 condition. He said he will pay me much more then its current value 8/16/2016. Not only he did not know what Pioneer SX-1980 is he also called me 5 min later and told me that these units sell for $600! WHAT!!!! $600, REALLY!!!!Pioneer SX-1980 goes for $5,000 in my condition on ebay and Dave offered me $1500 for it, and he called it top notch offer!!!!! What a RIP OFF!!!Not only that, he also said that if I trade in my Pioneer the cost for B&W 802 Diamond would be additional $19,000 cash!!!Would you believe it!!! What a RIP OFF!These type of speakers sell for $15,000 NEW!STAY AWAY!
