Courtesy and thorough knowledge and tools to inspect and clean my chimney. Even though the cost was more than what I paid using a chimney sweep service, this was more thorough. He even went to the roof to scout around and taking pictures that I now have of everything.

Everything about my experience with these folks was top notch. I was able to get a chimney and fireplace inspection done in a rather rapid time frame (a couple of weeks) and the inspection was about the most thorough report Ive seen. Detailed pictures and descriptions of all the relevant structures and locations were provided along with solution options. This is a 70 year old house, so deconstruction and reconstruction was required of the upper chimney structure, which was done quite professionally only a couple of weeks later over a two day span, available because of a gap in the schedule. Communication was easy and thorough, both with staff and project coordinator. I can highly recommend this organization!

In 2019 we accepted Efficiency Vermonts invitation to trade in our old wood stove for a contemporary, high tech stove that came with a partial government rebate. When the stove store delivered this new stove, they told us we would need a chimney liner because they detected small cracks in the tile inside our brick chimney, rendering it unsafe. So in order to get the rebate we needed a steel chimney liner. So in 2020 we hired Brickliners to install a chimney liner, the expense of which was largely covered by our house insurance.Brickliners did an excellent job of installing the liner and sealing up the roof flashing around the chimney. They were courteous, clean and efficient. We would recommend them to anyone.We do have some regrets. My family and I are now experiencing major drawbacks to our high efficiency stove and the chimney liner. The modern fireboxes are smaller and do not hold as much wood and an overnight fire nearly as long as our old fashioned stove. Moreover, our 35 foot tall interior brick chimney used to get rather warm on bitter cold nights with a roaring fire going. The chimney would radiate heat throughout the whole house, especially the upper floors, and would keep us toasty all night. This is no longer possible with a chimney liner. Consequently, by morning our home is now freezing cold and our high tech stove takes a very, very, very long time to generate a blazing fire. At times we now wish we had our low tech stove and unlined chimney back. We are now tempted to use electric or propane backup heaters at night, which defeats Efficiency Vermonts goal.Unfortunately, there is no information source where homeowners like us can learn about these drawbacks in advance. Efficiency Vermont never warned there may be different sides to their recommendations and certainly a stove company would never point out potential disadvantages to buying one of their modern stoves. None of this is Brickliners fault. They simply did the job they were hired to do and they did it very well.

We recently bought a house and needed advice about an old chimney. Brickliners came over and provided an incredibly thorough and thoughtful assessment free of charge. I am very pleased with the job that Brickliners did replacing my stove pipe. They came over and made an assessment and I got a call about 4 days later and they were here to fix the entire pipe. Neither here nor there. I was contacted by Brickliners that we were due to have a warranty inspection on work we had done last year which I thought was part of the service. Later I received a bill of $199.00 which again I assumed it was part of the service. On another note, I asked one of the men doing the inspection why I was getting smoke in my house since the cap over my chimney was added? He said that the cap was installed too close to the flue. He said I should get a larger cap or get the flues cut down. Was it my responsibility to know their error? I made this known to the their office and the problem was corrected promptly.

We opted not to do the relining because we are selling our home and the new owners may prefer to install a gas fireplace (the option we would select) rather than restoring the wood fire capability.

Weve also had our Chimney CAP restored by them and added insulation around our liner, after a competitor (our Avalon wood stove insert was not installed correctly) and we needed their expertise. Dana and David from Brickliners arrived a week earlier after an opening in the schedule became available, on time and a van stocked for all emergencies which sadly they encountered with my 1850 farmhouse chimney. They repaired over 100 years of others mistakes and left me with a shining liner and like the Grinch made sure there was not a speck of dust remaining. You cant go wrong with Brickliners!

I met with Clark at Brickliners who came to our house to do a chimney inspection for some brick repairs we need to do. Clark was extremely professional and thorough and offered exactly what he found in the evaluation- in very plain English so I could easily understand. He then provided a detailed estimate of exactly what would be needed in terms of repairs and provided all the necessary information brochures that explain the process and results. Ben came and did a cleaning and inspection on our chimney. He was great. Gave me a heads-up call, arrived on time, did his work quickly and kept everything very clean. The process for getting the report is seamless - very professional. Really, a six-star performance. But boy do you pay for it. I need the certified cleaning to keep the warranty on my chimney liner so I get it but the price is eye-watering.

It all starts at the beginning! When you call their Administrative Assistant is fast and efficient. If she says she is going to call you right back she does. She spent four hours cleaning. We would have covered the doorway that lead to the rest of the rooms with plastic and they could have used the front door to go in and out. She also would have covered the others items in the room and removed the coat rack that had soot on all of the jackets.ThanksGary

Brad arrived exactly at his ETA. He was courteous, knowledgeable, efficient, honest and extremely fastidious. Brad serviced and cleaned our gas fireplace. He provided instruction on how to properly utilize the unit and educated me on my fireplace. Really nice guy and the price was reasonable. I will be sure to call them again.
