Visiting from Arizona., and needed a place to train. SO GLAD I found this gym online. Super friendly, super clean, everyone was incredibly nice and welcoming, and every possible piece of equipment I could dream of was at my disposal. A delicious smoothie from their bar topped off my workout. Loved it so much, I purchased some swag so that I can represent Iron-Bound Gym back in Arizona! Thank you, Iron-Bound Gym!

Fantastic local gym. Woman at front desk was extremely nice getting a guest pass. Really solid free weight selection including less common equipment like Neutral Grip bar. AC was set at 69 which was very nice too. Highly recommended!

Started using this gym after having issues with AmFam. Best change i ever made. Wonderful staff. The staff always seemed happy and ready to help which is a sign of healthy management. Scott, the owner, was very friendly and I love seeing that he works in his own gym!Equipment was clean and I rarely felt as though i had to wait for others to use equipment.Prices are very fair in my opinion, no silly startup fees.All around great business model, great price, plenty of equipment, and awesome staff!Had I not moved to Colorado Id still be there

Just joined! I wish I had months ago. The gym is clean. The staff and community are friendly and positive. Equipment is well maintained and mostly new. They have all you could want with very competitive pricing and an outstanding atmosphere. Definitely check this gym out.

I could not recommend Iron Bound Gym more highly. Scott, Charles and the entire staff are very friendly and professional. The fitness equipment is high quality and the gym is never super crowded. This is a great (superior) alternative to the William & Mary rec center!

One of the nicest gyms Ive ever visited. Had all the machines you could want, but also had multiple deadlift platforms, squat racks, and benches for the serious power lifter. Literally had everything you could want in a gym. Modern and clean, and desk attendant was friendly and welcoming. Top notch facility!

Joined this gym in 2011 and quit only because we moved. Hands down the best gym I’ve ever belonged to. Staff is unbeatable…..absolutely top shelf in every respect….Owner is in the gym every day and does everything his staff does including the cleaning…..family feel and made life long friends there….just wish there was a location in our new town….gym has everything from free weights to machines to cardio to amazing classes….hours are great and accommodating to virtually anyone’s schedule….can’t say enough great things about Ironbound gym….

IBG Williamsburg gets a top rating from me in every category. Staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful. Employees/instructors knew my name and recognized me quickly upon joining. Facility is incredibly clean, well maintained and well supplied with equipment. Training and course offerings are plentiful and varied enough to offer something for everyone! What Scott and staff did to keep people involved, connected and moving through the pandemic to the extent possible was amazing!

I had a wonderful time at this gym. I left only because I like to change where I go every so often, but it truly is a place I will miss. Scott, the owner, is wonderful. When I first decided to look into it, I did a tour and got a week pass, and when I came in to use it he still remembered me by name. They have events pretty often, at least pre-COVID, so that made it feel more like a friendly place instead of just a gym. I really appreciate how they handled COVID as well, keeping communication open and giving members options.It is a small gym, but thats whats charming about it. It makes the environment more personal and friendly, especially with the staff. I was mostly in the weights area, and I almost never had a problem with it being crowded or waiting on something to free up, I would go around 10-11 AMThe pricing is affordable, most gyms are in that price ballpark but theyre flexible with options like student or couples pricing.I had a really great experience and will miss it a lot!A side note for any women who ever feel uncomfortable or objectified in a gym: you really wont here. Its a different crowd than big commercial gyms, and you wont have to worry about being persistently approached and gawked at, the people here do their own thing and stay in their zone.

Iron Bound Gym is a true treasure in Williamsburg. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and they all have been committed to following safety measures during the pandemic to keep everyone healthy and safe. The machines and equipment work well and my workouts have always been positive experiences. They are community-minded and host and participate in fun events throughout the year. I’ve been going to Ironbound gym for about a year and I have nothing but good things to say about the place. The staff is incredibly friendly and does well communicating to the members about different changes. I really like the set up they have as well.. There are so many machines to choose from and I was always able to keep my workouts interesting because of that. If I were you I would definitely check them out! Best gym in Williamsburg by far!

All the free weights you could want and more

I was in need of a gym due to quarantine and me being away from college, so I decided to come here due to the student membership option. On my first day, the staff and people were very friendly and informative. From then on, every time I came in, it felt like home and a second family; you don’t find that feeling in commercial gyms. Also, if there were any issues regarding anything, Scott Grafton (the owner) and other staff were very helpful in resolving any issue I had. I highly recommend this place not only for fitness but for a nice, friendly atmosphere as well.

My favorite gym to workout in!! Being in college I am always in and out of town and they have a student discount and can sign up for a start of two months which is perfect when coming home for break!

I have spent quite a bit to build a garage gym yet this is the one gym that I will keep a membership in. The staff is great, the place is clean and well maintained. I’m in Williamsburg on the weekends and normally I go to American Family Fitness with my boyfriend, but they’re being strict about signing people in. So, my boyfriend suggested Iron-Bound gym and I actually like it much better than American Family Fitness! I’m already a member at one life, but I would definitely come to Iron-bound when I’m in the area to workout! It’s small, BUT has everything I need to do my workouts! And the hospitality is definitely welcoming! I’ve already told my gym friends at one life about Iron-Bound Gym!

I joined Iron-Bound back in 2012, then moved out of the area in 2014. Scott (the owner) was very accommodating when it came to cancelling my membership. When I moved back to the area last summer, there was no question that I’d be rejoining Iron-Bound! Even after almost 5 years of being gone, Scott remembered me, which I think says a lot about him as a business owner. He and his staff are always friendly and incredibly helpful. Scott listens to his patrons concerns and feedback and genuinely cares about his business. He’s also involved in the community and continually supports other local business and causes, which is something that is important to me as a local. The facility is very well-kept and clean, the membership prices are reasonable, fellow members are respectful and friendly, and Scott is always looking for ways to update equipment and classes for his patrons. I truly have nothing negative to say!

Both the folks that work here and the folks who work out here are generally quite friendly. Theres lots of equipment -- however, perhaps too much given the space. The free weight area is about right in terms of density, but everywhere else feels cramped. The owners/managers are also clearly trying to cultivate a cult culture for the gym which I find off putting, though it isnt pushed too hard so you can simply ignore it. There is a month-to-month membership option, which is nice.

I am extremely “Gym-shy” and I LOVE this gym. I have belonged to many gyms in many different cities and this is the only one that I have come to feel like is a family. The very first day I walked into Iron Bound Gym to just ask about it, I was met with a smile and a “staff member” that quickly ascertained my uneasiness and completely reassured me. I was given an appointment to be “introduced” to the gym and the equipment the next afternoon and was given a “week free trial”. The next day I showed up and was met by the same “staff member”. I was introduced to all the different areas of the gym and given a routing (written down with all of the settings for the different pieces of equipment) so that the next time I would come to Iron Bound, I knew exactly what to do to get started. It was only after this introductory meeting did I realize the staff member who gave me so much of their time was the owner of Iron Bound, Scott. The gym is great: well-staffed, well-equipped, quality classes, excellent personal trainers ~ all top notch. However, Scott is the cream of the crop at making everyone feel welcome and like family. I have been a member for so many years, I forget exactly ~ and I have no intention of moving to any other gym.

Amazing staff and other lifters. I really enjoyed this gym. It has no hidden fees or cancellation fees like other gyms. No annual fees or anything just the amount you pay a month and thats it. I highly recommend this gym its sad I cant go anymore.

This is by far one of the best gyms I have ever had the pleasure to train in. In terms of equipment they have something for everyone, from cardio to power platforms, to a entire functional room. But its not the equipment that made me fall in love with IBG, it was the people. The staff and members are awesome and create an outstanding culture and atmosphere. From the owner Scott to the trainers like John and Charles, everyone has a smile on their face and kind words or a funny joke readily available. Great people and good vibes.

Really friendly, helpful staff. I visited while on vacation in Williamsburg in order to keep up with my program. I was pleasantly surprised. A very well equipped gym catering to people of all abilities in a small footprint full of friendly people. If you happen to be a serious lifter, this place has all the equipment you need including a deadlift platform, a couple squat racks, heavier dumbbells and no shortage of plates.

Newsletters, social media, and events for the members all throughout the year. Been a member since 2008, and have not put my foot in another local gym, because I am completely satisfied!

I chose this gym from an internet search and from the day I walked in the door to look around, I have nothing but good things to say.The facility looks small, but it is not! There is something at IBG for everyone regardless of what you want, fitness level or age. Some great and friendly instructors lead the classes. The staff is incredible if you have a question merely ask someone is always willing to help. The equipment is well maintained, and a portion is new within the last few months. When I say there is something for everyone, I truly mean that at any time there is always somebody from all walks of life here. There is a nice Cybex circuit: plenty or free-weights, plate loaded machines, and cardio equipment. An area set aside for stretching and abdominal work. A cardio studio and a bike studio and they even have a functional training room. IBG has everything I have ever looked for in a gym.I travel a fair bit for work. I am always pleased to walk through the door there. I have two other large gym memberships I use when traveling. IBG is so much cleaner than those and way friendlier.I am sad my time here has come to an end, or I would be a lifetime member I am sure. Scott (the owner) and his staff genuinely care. There is a legacy to this gym, and it has been maintained through the years, and it shows. I was comfortable here from the first day to the last. If I ever return to the area, I know where I will be coming back too. There is a sign above one of the exits, “Iron-Bound Gym is Fitness Beyond Measure. So far, IBG has tried in every way to accommodate myself and coworkers. We are here seasonally and the experience so far is great. The option of NOT signing a contract, and having NO fees to sign up makes it that much better!

Being home from winter break, I am at the end of my 1 month gym membership here. Its smaller than I expected but its only crowded between 5-7pm which is expected. Other than that its a good gym. Being use to Virginia Tech gym, the exercise equipment is not as brand new but its the typical and in good condition. My favorite thing about the gym is that they have tvs on all the cardio machines so I can sit there for up to 2 hours watching interesting stuff and still get a work out!

Iron-Bound Gym is a vey friendly place -- both staff and fellow members. The personal trainers are helpful and very knowledgeable. IBG is well maintained and clean. Its a great place to maintain and improve my fitness.

Never visited the gym. Called to ask about a free day pass to check the gym out, employee seemed annoyed and rude with my questions. He responded that the requirements for a free pass were to show proof of local address. I’m active duty military, I offered to show my orders and he signed and got snippy “we just need proof of local residence”. The gentleman forsure skips leg day with how he acts. Will not be going to this gym.

Absolutely phenomenal experience at Ironbound. Just moved to the area temporarily before grad school and only needed a gym for the summer. The student membership price was the best I could find anywhere around Williamsburg. It was great to be able to try the gym free for a full week before committing. Charles set up my trial pass no-questions-asked and showed me around. He didnt make an extravagant sales pitch, which I appreciated. The owner, Scott, sent a welcome email directly and promptly answered my questions without being pushy at all. A low-pressure gym experience is hard to find. IBG is a true gem. Been a member for a few weeks now and I look forward to going every day. Quality cardio and lifting equipment (nice open space for core work too). Never overly crowded. Staff and other exercisers are very friendly. Feels like being part of a community. Easiest 5 stars Ive ever given.
