Absolute unsafe drivers! One of their vehicles was flying down Armistead Ave in Hampton around 2:35 PM 6/18/21. Once he got closer to traffic he cut me off and started tailgating the vehicle in front of us. Not a smart move when your company is advertised on your vehicle! Plate ended in 5682

We have been using this company for years, for parties, yard work, boom lifts you name it. We never had any issues until we dealt with the owner. Anyone who rents out faulty equipment, and then talks to you like a dog for letting him know. The man Ralph who runs this business is the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. He is very rude and will NEVER get my business again.

They have great prices to NYC. But they need to have more control of the people that use their bus service. Specially when some is getting disorderly.

Plenty of things to rent. We got some tablecloths that we found stained when we went to use them. They didnt seem to care, nor offered any kind of compensation for my inconvenience.

Great people work there. Just really super people that go above and beyond. Been doing family business there 30 years I think. Wont go elsewhere. I especially love that old man Ralph.

Rented a trenching machine. I found the price fair at 158 after taxes and damage waiver. The machine was in very good condition and was well cared for. They got me in and out of the store quickly. The staff was friendly and helpful. The showroom was clean and orderly.

Bought a mower off Ralph after mine blew half way thru finishing on a Sat . He agreed to drop it by same day. Couldnt get it ready so he brought me a used one to finish my lawn no charge until mine would be ready Monday. Came by right on time and hauled away old 1 free of charge. Great customer service you wont get at home depot. Keep the $ local!

DO NOT USE - THEY STOLE MY MONEY.I am extremely disappointed with this company. I ordered a specific number of tables and chairs and linens to go with them. When they delivered my order, they did not bring one of the tables. So, I was unable to use 10 chairs and 1 tablecloth and the delivery person took them back. To my surprise, they charged me for the 6th undelivered table and chairs and linen that I could not use. I emailed to address this and they responded with a copied/pasted cancellation policy and no other acknowledgement of the situation and their responsibility for it. I emailed again thoroughly and very politely explaining the situation and asking for a response - but got none. I still have yet to receive a refund for the items that were either not delivered and/or could not be used. In my opinion, this company stole my money and has terrible customer service.

Rented a 185cfm compressor it was a nice machine, only issue is that I had to go back to store because they did not put bits for jackhammer inside. All in all a good experience and I would use then again!

My husband rented a post hole digger for an important weekend project over the Easter holiday. It was worthless and wouldn’t dig a hole deeper than a foot. We finished the holes with manual diggers but couldn’t complete the work plans because it was so labor intensive. My husband was much nicer than I would have been and only asked for at least a partial refund and advised them not to rent that particular piece of equipment without repairing it. He was told that because it was a discount price since we couldn’t return it until Monday that no refund was available. I think a full refund would be appropriate for a piece of junk that doesn’t work and ruined our plans. I went out and bought a post hole digger but was apprehensive that maybe our soil was extra hard.....we dug a 3 foot hole in under 2 minuets so it was definitely something wrong with their equipment!!!

This place was recommended to me by the manager at Anvil Campground, Williamsburg, VA. I got propane from here just before the MLK long weekend; literally 5 minutes before closing. They politely filled my 2 RV propane tanks. The price was a little expensive, but it is winter.

A couple hiccups along the way with the order and day-of service. After bringing the issues to the owners attention, he apologized profusely, assured us this was not his standard and refunded a portion of our fees. In the end, the wedding was beautiful and all the items used were lovely.

I was originally drawn to using this vendor for my wedding due its lower rental prices advertised on the website and after comparing this vendor to other local vendors, I decided to take the risk. I used Grand Rentals Station of Williamsburg for my tent, glassware, dinnerware, tables and chairs rentals totaling up to $3600 with an additional $400 for a non-refundable damage fee for all my items. Thus I was very surprised to find a separate, additional charge of $60 one week after my wedding. I called Grand Rentals of Williamsburg to clarify and clear this charge. I was told that this charge was originally for 4 broken wine glasses, and 1 fork, 1 knife and 1 spoon. I asked how did these handful of items add up to $60 and why my $400 damage waiver fee did not cover these damages like the name would state. After 4 phone calls to the manager, I was rudely told that he did not believe me and that it was up to his decision on what would be refunded or not. His assistant then stated an excuse that all broken items need to be acknowledged by the renter at time and location of pickup. I then asked if they had attempted to call me or anyone else for a statement of broken items, which they had not done. Finally after stating that I was unhappy with my experience and expressed that I would write a honest and thorough review of my bad experience did the manager attempt to work with me. He then said he would provide me the refund for all the items listed above, which now totaled $26. This did not match the original $60 charge so once again I asked where this number arrived from and what else I was being charged for now. They could not tell me what the remaining $34 charge was towards and after complete exhaustion, I just let it go and kept the unjustified charge to be done with this awful business. In the end, my experience through a web of excuses and their extreme lack professionalism and customer service is why I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS FOR YOUR RENTALS!!!

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Everything we rented for a work picnic worked great, the kids loved the bounce house.

This place had EVERYTHING, and the folks there are the best. Rented many things from here in the past - always a great experience.

They refill Propane tanks, like the only place in Williamsburg that does. Doing a tank exchange is a total scam, you pay more for less propane.

I rent from this company every year particularly the location in Williamsburg. This year I rented the slushy machine from the Williamsburg location. When reviewing the slushy machine advertised on the website and then arriving to find a much larger older looking machine it was disappointing. Although it got the job done it was very heavy and bulky & took a lot to get it started. One side was over frozen I presume and would only dispense liquid. I know everything is not always as seen but if you’re a rental company it should be it’s not like im ordering a #1 from McDonalds and the sandwich does not look like the picture. These are expensive rentals & should be the exact same machine that is advertised on the website. Also the customer service at the front desk was less than satisfying.

This company is a fraud they rented a funnel cake machine to me that they knew did not work prior to renting it. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!!

Reserved a machine 2 weeks in advance, renter prior to me deemed it unnecessary to return the machine until 1:45 the day I was supposed to be using it. While that is not the stores fault, I was still charged a full days rental fee for what is going to amount to 2.5 hours use. Also, one of the switches that operate a hydraulic function is broken and I was told I dont have time to fix it. I will never rent anything from Grand Rental Station again.

Rented a few pieces of equipment while working on a patio project. Last tool was a gas cut away saw to cut paver stones. Rented Friday through Monday because they are close Sun. First saw we rented the water spray system did not work so we spent Friday with someone holding a hose while we made cuts - not efficient. Brought back Sat morning. Ralph said come on back... guarantee its you... not the tool. He did not know us from Joe - and was talking to a civil engineer two guys that worked construction through high school and college. 30 minutes of hitting his saw with a wrench and hammer later he gave up and gave us a different saw. It was now afternoon. Got back to work after lunch. New saws water system worked but was cutting hard. The blade was completely out of diamonds. Well now they were closed. Sent email and left phone message to mark what time we were forced to stop using rented tool. did not get to use at all on Sunday. Returned on Monday and asked for a partial refund (one day). Ralph said no.So I found HERC (1700 Endeavor Drive Williamsburg). What a difference!!! They did not have the saw I needed - had to rent a big wet stone cutting table saw now that I was working by myself. They drove to their VB store to pick it up for me, then when I arrived to pick it up it did not fit in the SUV. So one of the guys put it in their truck and followed me home with it (20 minutes from store). NOW THATS SERVICE! Will not go back to GRS and will make the extra drive to HERC. Oh and Herc was less expensive! lesson learned.
