You can call it what you want. Its the food stamp office. I called social security office because Im on disability SSDI. My wife has been unemployed for a year and a half because of covid. I found a policy through Blue Cross and Blue shield which gives her all her medicine 100% paid for very low deductibles compared to Medicaid etc. My question to the social security office was how do I file to get my $148 back. Instead of answering the question they passed the bug to the poor food stamp people who have enough on their plate. They thought I was there for snap I have food I have money I have other sources to get food I dont need anybodys help for food. But I do not like the fact that the Medicaid office social security / whatever you want to call them can charge me $148 for inadequate insurance compared to what you can get for $0 from Blue Cross and Blue shield which my wife has and is enjoying free insulin free Xanax fully lipitor free liposal me,, any other medicine she may need is covered by Blue Cross and Blue shield. For $0 for those of you who dont have insurance and a job you can get an insurance policy for less than a hundred bucks with 0 copay on medications and a lower medical copay. So the moral to the story is the social security office can go eff itself. And yall realize health and human services theyre there to help you give them respect dont talk down to them theyre there to help you dont get mad at them they got a little policy and a script to follow they have no choice be nice.
I’d give zero stars if possible. The never answer their phone, and if they do they say hello and hang up. This is the worst office I have ever had to deal with

In total Ive called three different days and stayed on hold for at least 2-3 hours each time. Im convinced that nobody will ever answer the phone....I just dont understand. How are they THAT busy.🥺

The folks there were nice and helpful. They treated me with dignity and respect which speaks volumes to their courtesy. Though I am embarrassed to have to say I was there in needed their services, they didnt make me feel like I was roach or degenerate. They were helpful and insightful in walking me through the process and answered all my questions. I recommend that if you need their services, they are the best at what they do.

Is this location currently open?! I called yesterday and was on hold for 2 and a half hours! Im currently trying again, and Ive already been on hold for 50 minutes! I understand that they may be overwhelmed, but there has to be a better way!

Lady at front desk wasnt so rude but didnt know much about her job, she was in a rush and didnt know anything, the office itself wasnt busy but when I called I was on hold for an hour and twenty minutes then when we got on the phone I was trying to ask questions on what exactly I needed to bring and and how to get that information and the lady hung up in my face, my process still till today hasnt been completed. I dont know if its because of the pandemic, but I need my insurance.
The workers here always take their work beyond the ecpectation last worker who did my app lilian was looking over everything was polite and told me all I had to do to make sure I am up to date the staff coordinate together to problem solve and it was inspiring to see a work place flow in such a quick, helpful manner. I appreciate them they have no idea the little time they take is so a big deal in most situations . The facility also has security, clean restrooms and computer services to check status on applications

Staff are stiff and curt. Not very kid friendly and with this quarantine not much they can do. There arent any workers in office either. So the only thing you can do is get paperwork.

Parking is good. Have to stand sometimes a long time to get help. Chairs are not very comfortable. Almost tripped over a chair coming out of another room. Knowledgeable staff. If in need of food they give out emergency help or tell you where to get food.
The lady at the window is beyond helpful
They come out and push your friends on into see the Doctor.

Have worked with Shelly quite a bit recently, and she is by far one of the most helpful THHSC clerks I have ever encountered. While their office can be tricky to get ahold of, they are staffed with some great service oriented individuals!
Very busy place but the lady who helped me was very nice and helpful even explained how I could do most of this online.
Horrible, rude front staff. They make you feel awful. Avoid going in if you can. And if you need assistance for the elderly, well forget it. They dont care.

I dont know this ugly ol bald hispanic ladys name... BUT, she is very rude and talked to not only myself, but the other few people in front of me, like we were all complete idiots. I cant speak for them, but Im not dumb, Im not on any other services except my children getting Medicaid. If youre that miserable and cannot nicely answer TWO questions, you need to take yourself home and reconsider your choice of work!
