Sheppard Automotive did a fantastic job with our older vehicle. After moving here a few years ago, we have had a rough time finding a quality mechanic at a reasonable price in the area. We are so happy to have been able to work with Milt and will be bringing our car back here. Milt and his team were very efficient and provided quality service. We were able to get several items fixed, that were long over due. I was pleasantly surprised by their text alerts, email invoices and overall responsive communication. Sheppard Automotive is worth more than 5 stars!!
Very good people and great prices
Had a great experience working with this shop. You can definitely tell they are not here to take your money and I can appreciate that. Definitely recommend working with these guys!
Good mechanic shop. At first, I was not impressed, but I took my car in and they worked with me on the price and worked hard to keep me happy. I received a 20% discount on labor (which is advertised online but they initially forgot to include that discount) and there was a charge inadvertently added to my invoice (hence my initial frustration). They corrected this and immediately refunded it, then they proceeded to tighten a loose bolt under the hood free of charge. They used high quality parts for all the repairs so give these mechanics a chance.
I left a bad review and it was deleted! Hmmm.... warning don’t go to this place. I’ll try to give a quick version of my last one. Tried to charge 450 for a diagnostic. Told me my warranty would cover it, however, Milt didn’t even call them. I called and talked to my warranty. These guys are crooks!!! Ended up buying the part I needed and fixing for $400.
We took our 2005 Toyota van with 180K + miles to Sheppard Automotive to get it ready for an epic road trip our son made from Wichita Falls to Los Angeles. Thanks to their excellent care, he made it safely there without any vehicle problems! We’ve always received top- notch car care at reasonable prices.
I have had trouble with my ac in my Ford Expedition. I brought it to them and I am every glad i did. Because of there integrity and honesty. If they say it will be done in a day they mean it. Also they have made a lot of improvements to their Lobby to make it more comfortable and inviting. Nobody likes it when their vehicle need to be fixed but they do their best to make your day better.
Great place with fast service and very respectful and honest work they fixed my truck very quick starter had went out will be back for more service thank yall very much
Got to Sheppard Auto around 7:45 and Milt (who I believe may be the owner) opened the doors for us. We were traveling from Dallas to Denver when the Transmission Oil Temp light popped on our car. Milt and Ed kindly looked everything over for us and sent us on our way for no cost. Its places like this that do hard work and take good care of strangers that make me believe the world is still a wonderful place. I found Sheppard Automotive and Muffler on Google and Im using Google to let everyone know they have wonderful service and genuinely great knowledge on vehicles.Thank you Milt and Ed! We appreciate yall very much. Keep up that awesome work!
Sheppard automotive took great care of my 1968 Corvette while in for service. Steering wheel, seat and floor covers were used. Milt and Ed delivered my car when promised. The have a wealth of knowledge about classic cars. Mine needed carburetor, tune-up and exhaust repair. Once parts arrived, my car was repaired in a timely manner. I will return for more repairs as I proceed with the restoration process.
As a woman I go into mechanic shops knowing I will pay the “woman” price. That changed when I went to sheppard automotive. I felt like the prices were honest and I was well taken care of. The owner was patient and kind to me. Glad to have them in my neighborhood!
Charged me for taking the battery out and back in when the issue wasn’t with the battery. Also had to push them to do the proper diagnostic, I knew what the problem was, they tried to tell me that it was something else. They wasted 3 hours telling me it was something wrong when they could of been fixing it. I will never go back there and/or suggest anyone to go there.
I had gotten into a accident when it snowed, and I needed to take my car somewhere and I’m from California so I know where nothing is. And I took my car to Sheppard auto and she is good as new and I’m really please with the service the owner is really nice and kept me up to date on the process and sheppard auto was a over all great choice. Overall great experience
Customer service was outstanding. They went above and beyond to help us. Quick professional troubleshooting and repair of our 2005 dodge van which had broken down on our way home from a trip.Milt and his crew started work about 815 am and got the repair done around 230 pm. We will definitely visit him again if and when the need arises..
These guys are amazing. Super nice and their work is fantastic. So worth the money. They pegged the problem with my vehicle right away and did a great job fixing it. Love these guys. Wont go anywhere else, highly recommend.
We are very pleased with their service. Quick and precise, they are always honest about what is going on and fair in their prices. We highly recommend!
When my truck broke down, they fixed it and gave me a ride home, and replaced my starter among other things. It began working only intermittently within a couple months. When I took it back in, despite my explanation of what was happening, they said it was loose connections, but tried to get me to do a few hundred dollars of other work. My starter eventually failed and I replaced it myself. They had installed a starter remanufactured in Mexico, and installing a new one solved my problem. Nice folks, but probably not going back.
Excellent service. They took care of my car and fixed everything on the same day.An other garage told me that I had 2 faulty sensors and i had to change them, at Sheppard automotive they just changed one because the other was good, and it was cheaper for me.I will definitely go back there if I still have a problem with my car .Really professional !
Took my car in Friday afternoon. Didnt hear anything back from them until Monday. Which in itself is understandable since they appeared to be understaffed. Understandable doesnt mean acceptable. And when they finally did call me, they told me nothing was wrong with my car. Thats the last thing anyone wants to hear when they know something is wrong with their car. Me, a non car guy, had to show their experienced mechanic that there was in fact something wrong with my car. A faulty EGR Valve makes a very audible hiss akin to a vacuum leak. Had they actually checked the car, they would have known this. The mechanic didnt seem all too pleased at being proved wrong. I lost all confidence in this shop in that moment. In the end I decided to take my business elsewhere.
Very honest mechanic .lets u know what else u to expect if oil leak let u know .up front amount expect to pay .no unexpected surprises 30 yrs experience in bussiness.
Had a problem come up with my car last second and they pulled through and did a fantastic job and got it done quick. Very true and honest people. Glad I took my car there. Couldnt have asked for any better service, pricing, and hustle. Would recommend to anyone!
These guys were really helpful. I was just passing through and took my car to them after I noticed a transaxle leak. They said the leak wasnt too bad, but check the fluids every couple hundred miles and add as needed. I followed their advice and made it to my destination without any problems. They didnt charge me anything for looking at my vehicle. I felt bad for not having any cash to at least tip them. I said to charge something to my card, but they said not to worry about it.The people here were very helpful and friendly. Ill go to this place if my car ever breaks down in Wichita Falls. Thanks again!
Milt Clark and his team at Sheppard Automotive are the best! In-and-out same day service in most cases. Large or small and everything in between. They have serviced 3 vehicles for me (so far): suspension work on my 98 Ranger; engine repairs on my 05 Silverado; major tune-up, oil changes, and ECM service on my Silverado HD Duramax diesel - superb service and very reasonable prices every time.
We first started coming to Sheppard Automotive after we blew a tire near their location and didnt have the tools to change it. Someone came out without prompting to ask if we needed help. We mentioned we didnt have the right tools but no money on us to pay for them. The guy ran back in came back with the tools we needed, changed the tire, and sent us on our way with nothing more than have a nice day. We choose to come in next time we needed regular maintenance and Milt always gets our cars in quick and doesnt charge an arm and a leg for labor. We would recommend Sheppard Automotive to anyone!
I stopped in here to try to get an idea on what to do with my 08 Volvo S40. Milt seemed very interested in researching an air intake system and exhaust cat-back system. The next day after he researched (not sure how much he really did) but he said to run the pipes it would be like 800-900. I suppose that could be normal for custom bent pipes and all, but too much for me. Said he could custom do a air intake for around 175-200. I was like, cool. So a few days later, I went back in to see if he could show me what his idea for an intake would be, and he looked annoyed that i was back. Said Look, you have a nice car. Volvo knows what they are doing so you shouldnt mess with it. Just let it be cause you will only mess the car up. So I was like, not even just changing the muffler out? and he was like dont mess with it. I turned and walked out. That led me to believe he either didnt look up anything about the car, he didnt really want the challenge, or he just really didnt want any of my money. I went to Millers a few days later and he put a Magnaflow on in less than an hour. Was 200 including the nice exhaust tip I picked.
Sheppard Automotive really helped us out... Our AC broke just after we crossed the Texas border on a 4,000 mile road trip- yikes. I called ahead because we knew wed be sleeping in town that night and they said theyd be able to check it out as early as 8am the next day. We arrived after 8:30 and left the shop before 9... amazingly fast service! The work was inexpensive and the staff was kind. If you ever need car repair in Wichita Falls definitely go here!
I took the truck in for an issue (would fall on face before taking off) i got a call and i was told it was ready and it ran great...!!! as soon as i picked it up i knew it wasn’t fixed, it did the exact same thing...i went on vacation for about a week and i dropped it off as soon as i got back... i was told there was a different issue with it (don’t know why this wasn’t fixed the first time) and that it ran perfect... i picked it up to it STILL doing what i originally dropped it off for and it has a check engine light on it now that i was told would clear itself... all this is after $1200, i WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO THIS SHOP EVER...!!! i’m also telling all military and veteran friends about this “repair shop” it’s nothing but a rip off and now i’m out $1200 with my truck doing the same thing i dropped it off for...
Anytime I have a need for repair on my vehicle, I simply call Sheppard Automotive. Milt and his crew are always happy to take care of my repair needs, whether my vehicle needs to be towed from Decatur, Texas or I can drive it in their shop. I highly recommend them to you for all of your repair needs!!
I had a dead battery, which they checked and promptly ordered a replacement battery. The battery was replaced very quickly and I was back to work.Thank You!
Excellent service and honest mechanics. The Nissan dealership located in Wichita Falls took advantage of me being military (guaranteed pay check) and claimed many contributing factors to my vehicle over heating including cracked heads.. when checked out by sheppard automotive, trot only were the heads not cracked which saved me 2,000 plus dollars. But the car was running fine
We received great and fast service from the Sheppard Automotive Team. They even paid for my uber on my ride to pick up the car! Thanks again.
Go to Sheppard Automotive. After our vehicle left us stranded, these guys went above and beyond to help us out as they worked to diagnose the problem. They’re honest and fair. Thanks Milt!
Its interesting that most of the 1-star reviewers profiles have multiple reviews available. Yet, at the time of this writing, the vast majority of the 5-star reviewers have left only one review and it is for this business. I guess Sheppards standard of service really makes people want to create their first and only google review. It is a shame then that my own experience was so poor. Literal garbage was left in my vehicle. The work left obvious marring/scratches and not everything was put back in place in the engine compartment. The problem I had fixed quickly resurfaced. The owner was rude on multiple occasions for no logical reason. Frankly, I wouldnt let them work on my car for free.1 star in all categories.
Excellent, friendly, fast and honest service! I have taken my car to 3 different mechanics and was severely frustrated when I brought my car to yall! Super impressed yall got it done so fast and found the problem! Definitely will be coming back in the future!
If they think that you dont know about vehicle maintenance, theyll take advantage of you. My vehicle needed 4 brakes/rotors. They quoted a little over $600. I used to work in an auto shop doing this type of work and I know 2 things. First, auto shops get their parts at a discount. Second, if you have a lift, this job takes 60-90 minutes. I got the parts from a local parts store for $250. They would probably get them for around $200. The remaining $400 would be charged for parts mark up and labor. Thats taking advantage of your customer. A mechanic has 1 opportunity to build trust and they failed with me.Update:Oct 2016After having some time to ask around and get different quotes, it turns out that your business quoted $200 above everyone else. Heres some advice for those who dont have much automotive knowledge: shop around and also call some parts stores to see how much the parts would cost. Brakes and rotors arent difficult or time consuming to change. And it absolutely should not cost $600.
Our busted AC was repaired in less than 10 minutes! The crew was friendly and helpful... Definitely go there for good service and reasonable pricing
Air conditioning malfunction and we stopped in, Milt and the staff very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Sheppard’s if you are in need of service
I had a bad experience. I was charged $1,500 (No Kidding) to get my front bumper replaced, and painted. Yes it included new fog lights and grill, but you do the math. I agreed to the price because back then I was new in town and being a female, didnt know any better, and plus i had a trip coming up and had to get it replaced ASAP (which didnt happen too quick either because they kept pushing back the initial date by up to a week) . ANYWAY Good thing it was the guy that hit me who ended up paying for it....Now i know I can paint a whole car for $1,500... way to go sheppard automotive!
I had a very good experience.
My car had a small problem and they fixed it real quick! Thank you guys I really appreciate good service!
Needed a last minute U-Haul truck, this place hooked me up, no problems. Very nice clean auto shop, if I have any car issues or need any automotive maintenance you better believe Im going to this place.
Took my civic here to replace my condenser for $475 when the Honda dealership down the road wanted to charge me $1100. Service was quick employees were polite and I was thoroughly impressed with this mechanic shop.
Brake issues took my truck in and they were very professional and took care of me right away. Will definitely recommend
1 star because 0 wasnt an option. One word to describe them, CROOKS. Stay far away. Im USAF and would never reccomrec any servicemen/women use them.
People are very helpful and will try to point you in the right direction
Very nice respectedful people knows wat they are doing and they are fast I would rather come here then anyone Iam from Maryland and this is by far the best place I have been to get my car fixed Mr milt was so helpful nice guy keeps u smiling
I am a very picky gearhead. The guys at Sheppard are the only ones I allow to touch my 1985 Mercedes 190e AMG. They always have done a great job for me and have been totally honest. GOOD PEOPLE
Worst experience iv ever had getting my vehicle fixed. Ended up spending 4000 for a 1500 repair after I had to take my vehicle somewhere else to get it fixed. If you are military this guy wont stand behind his work because he knows you wont be their long. Wish I could give you no stars but its not a option.
I was at Sheppard for training many years ago when my VW Jetta was running a little warm. Milt fixed it which meant it completely overheated after servicing and tore up my engine. After he got over $3,000 out of me and still couldnt fix it I had to leave the car there expecting to go back in a few weeks and pick it up. Every week, same answer from this moron. Weeks turn to months, then over a year. Same BS. Then without notifying me he sells the car. Will consider suing him in California and force him to come make an appearance. 1 star because he said he was sorry he screwed me...he was a drunk back then he said.
Fast and friendly service at a fair price. I definitely recommend them if you need any work done!
Got my ignition switch changed real fast. Great work.
Sheppard automotive has done great work for my car and saved me from being stranded...
These guys helped me out in a big way they got my truck going and the price was under what other shops quoted me. You guys are life savers. Thank you Milt and Ed
Car had an electrical system issue that hadnt been resolved after going to a few other places. They fixed it up right away for basically half the cost and even had a wrecker pick my care up on base.
Friendly staff and reasonable pricing. Great service.
Friendly ppl and great service
Excellent, fast, quality, friendly service. Will definitely be returning!
Fast service with a friendly environment. I will be going back
Back in June of this year my Cadillac Seville had multiple trouble codes, the air bag, traction control, and ABS lights were on, the A/C would not operate, and the cruise control would not work. I took took my car to Sewell Cadillac in Dallas and they charged me over $100 for a diagnostic and told me I needed to replace the EBC module and PCM. The total cost including labor would have been around $3200! I was upset and was ready to trade my car in for a new one. I thought about it and decided now was not the time.I took my car to Sheppard Automotive for a second opinion. Milt was very helpful in trying to diagnose the problem. He consulted with a tech and they asked if they could check something real quick. They moved the key around in the ignition and all the trouble lights went out and the AC started working. Milt said it was the Ignition switch assembly. The technician working there took time out to draw me a diagram showing how the ignition switch was electronically linked to all of the other problems. Best of all, the cost was around $400.What a relief! I truly appreciate the honesty and sincerity this business has. Sewell Cadillac should be ashamed. All they did was take (at most) ten minutes to tell me I should buy another vehicle and tore my dashboard in the process trying to locate the computer modules. I wish there were more businesses ethically and morally sound like Sheppard Automotive. I will definitely use them in the future.
Excellent service, prices and they are honest! They do the work on my car right everytime!
Awesome guys! The only mechanics that could figure out what was wrong with my Jeep and fix it!
Quickly gave us the information we needed
Rude retard next time dont hang up on a customer
After I hit a deer comeing home from work, milt took my car and worked with me with the deductible and fixed my car, it looks as if it just rolled off the line.
Friendly, helpful people
