47 women on a mystery trip out of Fargo enjoyed a wonderful meal here tonight. Despite the large crowd they did their best to keep bringing the food out. We all marveled at the delicious toss side salad and dark bun as a starter. Our portions were huge. My meatloaf was very tasty. Real red mashed with skins on. The vegetables were flavorful and not mushy. Thank you for accommodating us and the quality of your food. Thank you for greeting our group.
This was our second visit. We choose to visit when they are not real busy. The atmosphere is nice in the dining room and service is excellent. (Bathrooms are exceptionally nice, and very clean 😀). Ordered French Onion soup - very good - along with Manitou Steak Wedge. The sirloin steak in this item was quite chewy, but had good flavor. Wouldnt order it again, but well be back to try some other items on their interesting menu. 🤔
Sorry but this sucked. Like bad. Bad bad. Service was garbage, waited 30 minutes just for our waitress to come get our order. Waited another 40 minutes for food. We then waited another 30 minutes for our waitress to come get our checks… she never actually came. We went and asked a hostess to get our checks. The bare minimum bar was missed. If I could give a 0 star I would. Literally none of our food was good. I understand most places are understaffed and what not but there were 4 tables occupied inside… this sucked and I wasted money and time here
2 people had the salmon and enjoyed it. I had the shepherds pie and it was very flavorful. The sweet potato fries were very thick and good. We had to wait a long time for our apple crisp dessert but its because they bake them individually. The dessert was tasty but a little more ice cream would have made it even better.
This restaurant has great food, inside & outside seating, bar area, & clean.
My husband had the Mac and cheese with salmon. The salmon was delicious but the Mac and cheese was a giant oily glob of mess. I had the chicken wonton nachos the cheese was dry and hard, the chicken was dry and tough. It’s a great location and patio but the food is blah. So many other great places in White Bear.
There Wed night at 7pm and received good service. Quiet so could visit. Both had Parmesan crusted BLTs....very good
Bad food and service. Mashed potatoes were ice cold, staff didnt clear the table
I tried the English Fish & Chips for dinner. The cod was moist and flaky with a light batter, and it came with a side of crinkle cut french fries and coleslaw. Great place for dinner.
Sunday was our FundayThanks to the event team at Manitou Grill, we able to reserve the beautiful outdoor patio and indoor bar lounge area to celebrate a special family event. Normally, the restaurant is closed Sunday, but they opened up for our party and theyll open up for you. Our group numbered about fifty, and having the combined indoor/outdoor space allowed us to feel safe regarding pandemic precautions and be prepared for whatever Mother Nature threw our way.Our guests raved about the food, featuring heavy hors doeuvres of walleye fingers, sliders, steak and chicken curry skewers, chicken fingers, french fries quesadillas, platters of fruit, guacamole, chips and dip. Bartender and rest of staff very sharp. Event exceeded our expectations.
They didnt hold the reservation that we asked for and they lost our food order and it took over an hour to get our dinner. The staff seemed overwhelmed with the amount of people that were there. They did comp our food but it wasnt very good.
Excellent food, patio was perfect today. Our server was great.
Made this our first night out after getting vaccinated. The greeter seemed very put out that we didnt have a reservation and needed a table even though the place was less than half full. When she finally seated us at a high table near the bar, we waited 10 minutes while being completely ignored by servers, and finally left without ordering. Every time we go here we promise to never go back because of poor service and mediocre menu and food, and we never seem to learn.
Delicious lunch special today! Always great food. Nice patio
Great bar up front for live music on a small scale. THE best sweet potato fries ever! Plenty for sharing. Good happy hour discounts too.
Delicious food! Superb service!! Great live music by Ross William Perry band. Nice private table. Will be going here again soon 😁🎵
Great time during WBL Market Fest. Listening to bands play and people watching
Great food and our server Siobhan was very helpful. She made our dinner experience very special. We will definitely go back again real soon.
Great service. Great food. Nice music choices for the live music.
It was our 1st time here. Service was incredibly slow. And when my son ordered a chicken sandwich plain with only cheese, they gave him a bunless chicken breast but with tomato, onion & lettuce. What?? We also found the staff to be loud & unprofessional. A disappointing dinner!
Food was quite good, they had live music that was phenomenal as well. Wait staff was very friendly and available. Also had a decent tap selection, would recommend!
Visited this restaurant because of craftapped participation. Its actually on hold now, but we stayed and ate anyway. Nice decor, pleasant quiet atmosphere, covid safe. Our server was excellent and attentive. My burger was delicious and filling. Beer was good, too. I will return.
I made up a new motto at this place, if youre going to cheat on your diet with a sandwich, make it a lobster roll, OMG! The lobster roll here is AMAZING!!!!? 1/4 lb. lobster meat, nicely seasoned, little mayo sauce, nothing that overwhelms the lobster, folded onto a buttery slice of texas toast. Mmmmm! Good job Manitou!
Always a great experience. It has become our regular stop. Food is great, atmosphere is fantastic. Ask for Shiobhan and tell her I sent you!
Great place! Excellent fish and wonton nachos are a fun twist. Great friendly staff and very safe area.
Excellent roast beef sliders. I keep going back for them. Yum Yum
Food is nice. Live music. 😊
No service. Wait for 1 beer at bar....20min. Wait for the food menu.....20 min and counting....???? Rudys red eye one block away. 100% better
Staff are really friendly and is a great place to grab a drink
Been a disappointment over the past few years. This time the told us they were to busy. Only a few people in restaurant
I think if youre a regular itll be great. Bartender was social with those who seemed to be her regulars. My friend& i sat in the bar area- not sure if we were to wait on a server or bartender or go to bar to order anything (it was the bartender btw!) Tried to order a drink or water & she ran off as soon as we told her the order.Food was OK- my shrimp alfredo pasta was drowning in the sauce. My friend didnt quite get what she ordered ( plain chicken sandwich vs BBQ chicken sandwich)Ill give it one more try, but I feel like its not the same place/vibe we enjoyed when it first joined WBL.
Ive never been here but I think its a beautiful place but the buffet was just so average. I really did not leave happy and Im sorry to say that
☘Match 17, 2019☘I celebrated St. Patricks Day with family at the Landmark Center in St. Paul, MN for Irish dance, bag pipes, and folk music, and later for dinner we chose a quaint place, AWAY FROM THE CROWDS, at Manitou Grill, 20 minutes north in White Bear Lake.We wanted to try the Irish fare on the menu, so we ordered several things to share: Irish stew with lamb and beef (very tasty), Fish n Chips that were as yummy and HOT as could be, and the classic Rueben sandwich with HOT corned beef, sauerkraut, thousand island dressing, and melted Swiss cheese on rye bread. DELIGHTFUL!
The food was awesome so was the music and the service
Always such kind people working here. Had a great dinner with my grandson. Great service and food too!
The scotch eggs were delicious.
Good food.
During the shutdown we’re trying to support local restaurants. I wanted a ham dinner for Easter but it’s just 2 of us. I ordered the ham dinner for 4 off the menu. It’s a great value! Salad, green beans, 8 dinner rolls scalloped potatoes and ham. We also got some scotch eggs for an appetizer. As we picked it up on Easter Sunday it was cold but had all of the instructions to heat it up. We had a great Easter dinner. Thanks manitou grill
Such a fabulous place each year I absolutely loved the bacon on this day at remind me so much of the state fair which I miss thank you they were delicious
If your planning on finding a restaurant in WBL THEN THIS IS IT!! We had the parmesan encrusted BLT with avocado and the English fish and chips.. it was absolutely outstanding! The BLT was thick & hearty, you needed two hands to hold it absolutely delicious and fresh- then the fish and chips have a thin crispy crust and delicate meaty hearty portion of fish fried to perfection! If I could give this place more than five stars, I would!
Nice area. I just got water ans went on a boat. Beautiful day!
I have been here 100 times, never disappointed, food cooked to perfection, service 2nd to none
Very good food.
Good music, good food.
We tried Manitou’s food for the first time as a curbside order during this quarantine. Definitely 5 stars for service and food quality! We tried 2 burgers, sweet potato fries with the maple aioli, and a scotch egg. All delicious and we can’t wait to try in the restaurant when it opens again! We were also very appreciative of the user friendly online ordering system to customize our orders and the quick curbside delivery service upon arriving with no delays! Lastly we appreciated the complimentary chocolate chip cookies they included in our order. Wow, those were yummy and high quality. I wish we got photos of our food but we ate it up too quickly! Thanks Manitou for making our Saturday night, we’ll be back again!
Two days ago was the first time we went to this good restaurant. But It is no doubt not the last. We had great time with the good service, with the magnificent dishes and booze and with the comfortable cost. We will definitely go back there in a short time.
My church group and I like to come to Manitou Grill in the summer and sit on the patio to est eat dinner after church. The patio is small. Inside there is not much seating. We had an event in the event center and were completely happen with the service except for how the bar tender was pouring the wine. The pot roast we had at this event was very good. I wish they would have it on their regular menu. These owners are like the 3rd ones and everytime the restaurant is sold the menu changes. Another thing we liked was the chicken pot pie the 2nd owners had.
Had a very nice lunch while sitting on the patio. Waiter was excellent. Food was fresh and tasty.
Excellent atmosphere and service!!
Really great service. Seated outside. Excellent chance to visit with family.
Parmesan crusted walleye was excellent. Also had the Jameson Black old fashioned and wouldnt hesitate to get it again. Service was exactly what I what expect. There when you need and and helpful with questions.
I just liked their food. I always get good service here. The place is always clean and the staff members are always helpful. Will come back again.
Great music & wonderful staff. Last but not least, good food!
Beautiful place. The food is always good. Drinks are made by wonderful bartenders.
The food was good priced and delicious. Happy hour doesnt discriminate against any cocktail! And the waitress was very nice and accommodating!! Recommend.
Nice, reasonably priced restaurant. Serves sandwiches and burgers for those who want to spend a moderate amount. Also serves main entrees such as steaks, walleye, and salmon for those who want a more formal dinner. They serve a nice selection of wine and beers also. The atmosphere is quite comfortable. Live music was also playing in the bar area. This is a nice cozy place to enjoy an evening meal, or to stop in for drinks and conversation.
Great to sit outside on a pleasant patio and enjoy a burger and a brew. The burger, with cheddar and bacon jam, was delicious. My companion had the steak salad with the steaktender and cooked as requested. For a relatively busy Friday night the service was very good. Prices are very reasonable. Will definitely return.
Manitou Grill is our go to for local dining. We love the laid back atmosphere and have yet to have something on the menu we don’t like...which having been there now 8 times says something. My mother-in-law requests going every time she’s in town and always swears she going to try something different but gets the parmesan blt each time she loves it so much. They’re kids menu is pretty good as well and I adore the artisan cheese plate.Might have to order today as I’ve made myself hungry typing this!
This place has a really cool Irish themed bar but that’s about all I have to say that I like. I have been here multiple times with the family and I would say that it has the slowest service of almost any place I have been to. The food is very average to below average for the price as well.
Great food and service!
Wow everything at this resteraunt was amazing. This was a random pick as we live up in circle pines and went for a drive, 1st our waitress Lisa was amazing very friendly she even brought out the cook! We started off with a bloody mary( the best I ever had, made in house) appetizer was scottisheggs with Mustard sauce again amazing. The waitress recommended the cuban( Thespecial for the day) The cools family recipeOmg those amazing sandwich ever. My husband had the. Club ( he always has the club at a new resteraunt lol) he said it was the best club he has had! And he is a coleslaw critic and he said that amazing too. We will be back and will be sharing this gem with friends!
We were sat fairly quickly but not waited on for almost 5 minutes to be greeted by waitress. Waitress stated no one informed her there was a new table. Ordered drinks and appetizer which came quickly, one drink was wrong but fixed immediately. Chicken skewer with garlic mashed potatoes and gravy was good, slightly dry chicken. Cheddar burger was very well done and dry. Burger came out with no cheese but waitress fixed it and stated there was a new cook. Scotch eggs and the most interesting drink were very good. My husband started he would have given a two star rating.
Dave Lenz (musician) was awesome! Very comfortable, pleasant establishment. It makes for a wonderful, casual evening out with friends.
Refreshingly different menu, but it didnt go totally off the rails. Really beautiful, sophisticated interior (though, now Im being picky, some paint chips in the walls). Servers seemed...a little green. No big deal though, the signature cocktails are good (try the cucumber mojito this summer!). And Ive been there for some good music on Friday and Saturday nights. I think this place is underrated.
Atmosphere is welcoming and open with a touch of rustic. Live music area is right inside the front door next to the dining area. The menu has a wide selection of appetizers and entrees everything from walleye to Moms meatloaf. We ordered artichoke dip and bruschetta.I ordered the moms meatloaf which consisted of one slice of 3 by 5 by 1/2 in meatloaf and 1/2 dish of cooked green beans. I could tell that the meal must have been cooked at the same time as the appetizers because the gravy on the meatloaf had already started to congeal. The meatloaf really was just like moms if mom uses Lipton Onion soup mix to make her meatloaf. I was not impressed. The waitress did offer to reheat my food but I declined. We truly feel like all of the meals had been prepared ahead of time and were not impressedI think the tipping point was the $14 price tag. the waitress had originally asked me if I wanted two slices of meat loaf I guess that was why the menu said $16 but I only ordered one slice. I think this place is probably more set up for happy hour and drinks rather than full meals. I would recommend this place for happy hour but skip the dinner. If I do make it back I will update this review.
Nice place. We met friends on the patio for lunch. Good standard Americana menu. Friendly, efficient server. Its a big place, perhaps a bit too big to get my 5-star. Still, fun spot and we all had a delicious time.
Its ok 👌
I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant. They have a pet friendly patio (they brought us a water bowl and gave our dog treats). We went on a weekday evening and the atmosphere was so nice, especially because they had a live performer serenading us while we ate. I had the tomato soup and although a little salty for my taste, they were able to provide me with bread which was great.
Stopped here after one of the downtown areas Wine Wednesdays-a fun little ladies night out event! My friend and I each ordered the Ruby Red (a fantastic martini) worth the price and so good I had 2! I ordered the roast beef sandwich-hold the onions. It was fantastic. Juicy, good cheese and really good mushrooms. I had a loaded baked potato for my side which was a fantastic choice. My friend had the bacon bleu burger--and a salad--the side salad was huge. We each took half of our sandwich home. Excellent spot!!!!
We had the lobster rolls. Good choice for hot day in the summer.
Food was good. Staff was friendly. Service was a little slow. Was a little disappointed as their scotch eggs had changed. Their new ones are still good, just not as amazing as the old ones. Also, they no longer have the after dinner chocolate that they used to have. I tried their peach crumble for desert and didnt care for it. It was more like a peach crisp and it had cinnamon on it which didnt seem to work. Also the crisp topping was a little burnt. For the entrees though we had fish and chips and ribs. All of which were really good. The ribs were fall off the bone - just the way I like it.
Great Food
Our first visit here. Very pleasant staff and ambience. Food was DELICIOUS.We will return...
Good service, but this place was better when it was an Irish pub. The food was better and the menu was more inspiring. I ordered the fettuccine, which was described as white wine sauce Florentine. It came with a heavy Alfredo sauce. Sweet potato fries were good for an appetizer, but I miss the Scotch eggs.
Great seafood! We had the lobster Benedict, walleye, fish and chips, and the lobster roll. All very fresh tasting with great flavor, and friendly servers!
A bit pricey and their pints dont look like full pints. Food is good with many GF options well identified including fish tacos and shepherds pie both very tasty.
Ate there Valentines Day 2020. 7pm reservation. They had a limited menu for the anticipated crowd, and a special of an $85 dinner for two that included Champaign, appetizer, bottle of wine, salads, 2 filet and lobster tail entrees, and a large desert. A pretty good deal. Except they were out of the calamari we chose as an appetizer. They were out of lobster tails so offered jumbo shrimp which were basically 26-count shrimp used for pasta dishes. We had the delicious flatbread, with the entrees coming out as we were eating it. The salads didnt come out. My wife ate hers after the entree, I didnt. The food we did get was delicious, but the overall experience was disappointing. Our waitress told us the manager knocked six bucks off our check...I like a restaurant where the manager would personally greet you to check satisfaction, but they couldnt be bothered.
Amazing staff, catering, food and space. Restaurant and event center was great!
Definitely a spot worth visiting, the food is good and well prepared, the pricing is convenient and it is regularly well kept there. Keep up the good work.
Such a relaxed atmosphere sitting at the bar for a quick lunch with Don such an amazing and talented bartender; the conversation is meaningful and the food is made with such care and precise execution, my mouth waters thinking of the tender Chateau steak with grilled to a perfect medium rare. A must stop place if your in the White Bear Lake area. A friendly local restaurant that you can relax and enjoy a meal with your loved one. I look forward to lunch with Don at Manitou Grill again. Excellent service!
Food and service was fantastic. Atmosphere was great! Loved the music choices.
Oh my. The roast beef dinner and the Sheppards pie were amazing! Great service and comfy place.
Great service and happy hour.
