Absolutely Amazing 5/5This place goes above and beyond! The customer service is amazing, room service for the hotel are very polite, and the food is to die for! In my opinion it seems like the poker machines are always hitting for big wins and the rooms are very clean with all the extras.Great place over all, I highly recommend a visit.

Room was clean, standard non-Vegas casino, nothing fancy. But what is up with:Gift shop closed and can’t buy anything at the front counterNo microwave, coffee makers or mini fridges in the room?Forgot a comb (my bad) but asking the front desk if they have disposable combs and they didn’t… what concierge doesn’t stock combs??No milk at the cafe, so half of the menu doesn’t existLike I know covid had a lot of places on hard times, but this feels real bare-bones here…

The rooms were average at best. No mini fridge, no coffee pot, the remote was missing the back and batteries were taped in, also no charging ports in the room. Coffee wasnt available in the lobby until 7:30 am which sucks for early risers. The ice maker on our floor barely worked. Had to go to a different floor for ice. The casino was like being in the arctic. Im not a guy that gets cold easily but it was freezing in there. Alot of smokers in the casino which was a little unpleasant as well. The air didnt seem to be circulated very much. Many of the machines were either not working properly or turned off. This may be from lack of help or covid, not really sure. The dog track was probably the best part. Relatively clean and hand sanitizer readily available but the bathrooms were disgusting. The bars werent open nor the snack bar. Very limiting food and drink options. Again Im sure this was covid related. Unless your sole reason for going here is to bet the dogs, stay somewhere else.

Amazing to watch these Greyhound do what they love to do......RUN.I have 3 of my own right now,one ran there until he retired.They are super awesome dogs to adopt....I will only have these magnificent dogs as long as I can own a dog.The trainers and owners and kennel hands are amazing with these hounds as well.Always a special time when I get to come down and watch them run like the wind.I was able to come down on July 3rd and July 4th to see them run and even got to see many friends and one of the best breeders in the business this past weekend was very memorable.I encourage anyone to at least come see these amazing hounds and their trainers and kennel hands watch these dogs run like the wind.

The dog track is one of only four in the country still operating (2 are in WV), and thats why I drove there on July 4 weekend. The outside is very roomy and I believe you can bring your own beer in if youre sitting outside (I did after seeing a couple other people bring their cooler in). There is an indoor betting area and food is very limited, and the simulcast menu of out-of-town tracks you can bet on is small (only 8 others on Sunday, one was a dog track in England). It is attached to the casino, which is modern and large. As for the casino, you must show ID to get in regardless of age. I didnt gamble much at the casino except for the sports book. Hopefully the dog track will still be open next year and if so I will return.

Casino is very clean, staff friendly, and like any other casino- ya take a chance at luck.Dont write a review of a bad experience just because you lost money that you intended to at least double.Ive lost and won, I didnt play on money I needed for bills/food.I have a good time 3x a year here!

My husband and I went to the dog track on a Sunday afternoon and the stayed the night on sight. The track side was dirty they had trash cans collecting a ceiling leak they only had cold sandwiches and no beer sales on the top floor where we like to sit. We had to go down stairs to buy anything. There was no people to help with betting it was all computer. We use to love to go there but this time sucked. On a nice note the room was nice and the front desk workers were great.

You win some you lose some. Fun time nonetheless!

Ugh..shabby..so many machines in the non smoking section are out of order or just gone! Employees just wear street clothes..it would look better if they had uniforms. The cocktail waitress was so nice and took me the cashier window.

Great place. Clean. Well laid out. Plenty of slots, and table games. This is our second time here (we are from Cleveland) and cant wait to come back!

It’s not a bad place to go for a quick weekend trip, but there are some issues. I realize they are still recovering from COVID, but the food options are still very limited and expensive. Also, they really need to improve the ventilation system in the indoor dog track seating area so that the entire area doesn’t smell like smoke.

The two stars is only because we enjoyed playing the slots games. There was minimal food available at the casino, and drinks were way over priced. We had reservations for two nights at the motel, but only stayed one. The sink was backed up, the toilet would not keep a flush, wallpaper peeling, no mini fridge or coffee maker. Overall pretty uncomfortable, and had to doordash for breakfast. Needless to say we wont be going back.

Amazing that these crooks are still allowed to handle dogs.In my opinion theres big time cheating going on. Dont handicap because you will lose. Its best to play the kennel thats gets the dogs ready before hand. Its so obvious which kennels are cheating. The racing commission should be fired.

I will tell you something that travel agents dont want you to know about. When reserving places use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ They easily have the best deals on rooms! Its ok. Little older and could use some upgrades. Could use micro/fridge/coffee pots in the rooms. Paid extra for the deluxe king room but its not better, just a little bigger. Casino is very nice, track side is a little dingy. But all in all, its fine. Very clean. Staff is very friendly. We enjoyed our Kentucky Derby weekend here and will stay again.

Very nice casino with friendly employees but it just didnt play/pay. A very low energy place mostly because no one was winning. Maybe it was an off day but overall disappointing!

A lot of machines were closed down for whatever reason. This was a week day so that may have made the difference. Very hard to win a good jackpot or just a good pay

Had an amazing stay at Wheeling Island Casino. The rooms were clean and spacious. The price was very affordable and the entire staff was cheerful and helpful. A special thanks to Arthur and Christie who worked the front desk. They went out of there way to make our stay comfortable

I was very disappointed with Wheeling Island Hotel-casino. My boyfriend and I drove from Cleveland Ohio to come stay and celebrate our friends birthday. From the moment us girls arrived to the bar the bartender was rude and did not want to serve us. She IDd my friend and then did not believe it was her in the photo and asked for her to verify her DOB. A little bit later my boyfriend ordered a round of drinks for him and the boys and the bartender proceeds to give him the drinks no questions asked while adding the comment, as long as these arent for those girls. Then later my boyfriend and I went back up to order us each a drink. She would not take our order, we sat for over 20 mins before being asked what we would like. Our guy friend comes up to the var and she takes his order immediately. After she finally asked us what we would like my boyfriend ordered and she rolled her eyes and said she was only going to give us one drink. So confused he took the drink and was still nice and gave her a $20 TIP! He gave me the drink and we walked away. As my boyfriend and friends sat to play a game of blackjack, I then get stopped by a security officer (COLT WILSON) tapping me on the back demanding for my ID and wrote my name down and kicked me out of the casino playing area and banished me to my hotel room for the rest of the evening threatening me that if I come back down I will have to leave the premises. He stated the bartender said she cut me off but she never did! Not to mention it was only 9:30pm at the time and the casino was open until 2am. I had only 2 other drinks prior to that. So in no way was I drunk or belligerent. I tried explaining that to the security guard and our previous encounters with the bartender and he would not give me a chance to explain anything. He said, I do not care, I said what I said. I am extremely disappointed in the way the bartender treated us (me) and how the security officer talked to me and treated my boyfriend and I as well. the situation was not handled maturely at all. Horrible first experience...

Nice Casino. We came out with more than we took in, so thats a plus. The restaurants were not open at 4:00 in the afternoon that was a bummer.

Loved it but hotel not opened monday or tuesday and expedia took our reservations.

Grew up 8 miles away since its opening. Was actually there for the first time and had a blast. Wife won big time. My new favorite place in the valley. Certainly will return.

Awful. Negative stars! The gentleman [he was not!] just greeted us with a demand for ids!. No hello. Rude. Know why it was not busy. As for the selection of machines or lack there of and tables...I will lose my money elsewhere.

Nobody cleaning. So many machines are not up and running. The atmosphere has changed.

Went to Racetrack. This place is essentially on its way to closing. Toilets out of order, bars not open, speakers dont work 50% of the time, food for sale were 5 sandwiches. I got the italian which was ham, salami, capacola.It ended up being a ham sandwhich with no capacola and 1/10th the salami.Its pretty much self service betting so if you dont know what youre doing then you wont know. You can smoke inside as well as bring any off and drink you want.

No freeplay machines very tight havent won last five or 6 times there going to mountaineer next time

Security was very nice and accommodating. People at the check in desk were rude and not at all helpful. You have to walk through the smoke filled gambling area to get to the non smoking area which makes no sense. As a novice gambler I had a great time, but it would have been easier to get started had the people at the desk been more helpful.

My experience was okay...but it will be extremely better when the Buffet opens.

Nice place. They allowed us to Boonedock our Class A RV overnight there around back in the Bus parking area. Left side of Casino in back. If driving in, use York Street, Not Walbash despite what your Garmin GPS Nav may say. The Walbash gate entrance is closed and if you drive an RV back, there is no place to turn around so you will have to back out 1/4 mile. Use York Street

Went with family. Much too early in the day to win much of anything. Enjoyed being with family. Slots are hotter at night!

My friends and I came to this casino on April 3, around 8-9pm. I have never been to a casino and was extremely excited for my first time! They give first-time visitors a $20 credit which was awesome. However, all the good vibes disappeared when we made the mistake of ordering a drink at the bar.Like other reviewers have said, bar staff is ABHORRENT. We were cursed with the little brunette bartender with the bad attitude. She asked us for ID, we handed it over. She spent an extremely long time examining our IDs, then made a nasty face and said “Montana? Utah? Ohio?”. Let’s go to school for a minute, sweetheart. Me and my friend from Montana flew to Ohio on an airplane. Our friend in Ohio then took us to the nearest casino, which unfortunately happened to be your place of work. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of traveling or been able to afford it, but it’s actually remarkably common. Also, they had to scan our IDs to let us into the casino, so mind your own business in the future. The bartender continued to have an attitude, rolling her eyes at us, and THREW the pens at the table for us to fill out the receipts. I was so shocked by the encounter that I tipped her, but I should have yanked back the receipt, scratched out the top, and threw it at the counter like she did for us. Get better staff. This girl was a MESS and completely unprofessional. I’ve worked as a server and she had absolutely no right to have an attitude like this.We had some issues with the slot machines and the blonde working the floor was very helpful. She’s the only reason I’ve given more than one star.Figure out your staff. And until they do, NEVER buy a drink from this establishment. It put such a damper on our night we spent less than an hour here. And to the nasty little bartender, if you’re reading this, grow a couple brain cells and find some class. Such a disappointing experience.

Ive observed continuously after viewing the greyhound races online that the guy that pets the dogs on their way to the box is very kind & nice to them. He is a very professional employee there!

You can only cash sports tickets during the sportsbook hours. Every other casino on earth allows you to cash them at the cage after hours. The people at the front desk knew absolutely nothing about the sportsbook. If you like betting on sports don’t waste your time at this horrible casino.

Smaller casino but has a little bit of everything. Seems to stay up on the newest games as well. Havent hit big there yet but the free comp rooms have been nice. Lost a star because the tables always closed down early even though they are open until 4am.

In a very run down part of down, and only has one bar open during covid. Not enough table games open as well. Security staff was quick to target young people who left there mask down to long after taking a drink, but turns a blind eye towards older patrons and smokers. Make your policies make sense.
