I love this place. Anytime Ive had a car problem, they get me in ASAP, theyre kind, and I never feel nickel-and-dimed. Going to big shops, in get page long estimates that are twice as much. Not at Daves. Not to mention, theyre quick, which is appreciated. Once again, my girl is running like a dream without hassle. I wont take my Kia anywhere else.

Where do I start.... This is the most incompetent business I have ever given money to. Heres my story:I took my car in because the AC/Heat was not functioning correctly. I got a call the same day saying it will be $600 and that would fix the problem.4 hours later, I got another call saying that they broke a part on the car and wanted me to pay an additional $1500 to diagnose the part they broke. They also said an additional $2500 may be required to replace the part, even after they guaranteed the $600 would fix it.So I come back, pick my car up and start driving home when I realized they didnt put together the car dashboard correctly and the heat was worse off than when I came in.I then took my car back and their mechanic said I will need to pay for a $90 part to fix the AC/Heat after they broke the piece. The owner will comment on this and try to plead his case, however there are no excuses for this poor business practice and the way I was treated. I was literally charged money to bring my car in only to have it worse off. Generally when a company breaks something, they are responsible to fix and make it right, not blame the customer and make them pay for their incompetence. My car is now worse off than how I brought it in and they still charged me for the labor. I cannot emphasize enough how incompetent their garage is, both on the business and mechanical side of things. I tried this place because I want to support local businesses but this was the wrong place to go if you are looking for quality and honest service.TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE AND DONT END UP LIKE ME

I am from California. Drove to Colorado to visit my friend. I was getting a oil change at Jiffy Lube, when I was told that I had a coolant leak. A friend my mine told me about Daves Automotive. I took my car there hoping they could look at it and verify that there was a leak. When I got there I was greeted by a wonderful young women. Told her my situation, and she was very understanding. She talked to one of the mechanics, and they were nice enough to look at my car. The mechanic notice there was a leak but said it was very minor.I cannot thank you enough for doing what your shop did. I feel that you are an honest and trustworthy place. I would recommend that everyone should take there care to Daves Automotive.

I have been taking my vehicles to Daves for years and have found this establishment to be Honest and Competent. Why? Because after doing my research I found that their repair prices are more reasonable than the other local shops and they do the work properly.Jeff, the current owner, has worked his way up to ownership in his years at this shop and will stand by his work and reputation.I know that it is easier to spew dissatisfaction on reviews as that seems to be the only time people are motivated to post but I am taking the time to say THANKS and keep up the great work.

$790.83 is what I had to pay for the negligence of Daves automotive. My entire life I have done my own mechanical work, but due to my resources being limited I was forced to take it to a shop. Unlucky for me I chose Daves automotive. I brought it in for an oil pan gasket. After the job I drove the vehicle to where it was being securely stored under surveillance and left it parked there while I traveled the next couple of weeks for work. When I returned I found a large puddle under the vehicle when I decided to move it to a different spot on the lot and let it run a few minutes. That weekend I got around to looking at it and found that they had incorrectly installed the gasket leaving about a 3 gap where oil was leaking. I called them and told them what was up and they told me to bring it back under warranty, but did not offer a tow. I topped it off with a new system of oil after the previous had leaked into the ground, and drove it across town to Daves, but before I could quite get there a quite serious knock developed. I will be honest that it wasnt the greatest running engine before, but it didnt sound like driving on a flat tire. After he replaced the gasket the knock obviously lightened up, but is still definitely there. He refused to take responsibility for anything other than the gasket itself, said it was my job to check the oil, but I did. Am I supposed to check it every 5 miles? Seems a bit ridiculous. After this he refused to check engine internals even if I paid. He did however offer to do a swap for $5000 which is $1000 more than Jasper themselves quoted me with install. I am highly disappointed in my service here and never will be returning. I encourage you do the same, and save yourself time, money, stress, and extra damages.Edit to explain further:The repair was done right before I had to leave for a two week work trip, and this vehicle was not going to be a daily driver for a while. The leak did not become apparent until I got back from my work trip. At that time I noticed the puddle and really didnt expect it to be from a botched job, I figured it was from another source. I had to work a week of 10 hour shifts when I got back to Denver so I was not able to look at it until that weekend, hence the 3 weeks. I did forget to mention 1 trip to my apartment with it, but the 50 miles is the 14 miles from your shop to where the vehicle is being stored in commerce city, a 7.5 mile trip to Denver to get my tools and the like, 7.5 miles back to storage and that was all the night and day after the original repair, then after the we talked on the phone 14 miles back to your shop. All taking side streets for obvious reasons. I did let you know as soon as I knew you where responsible. There was no driving between when I found the puddle and when it was driven to your shop, besides the 20 yards to a different parking spot. I did not ask you to replace the engine, but I did not expect to have paid that price for nothing. Can you really say that I ran it out of oil when it was not capable of holding oil properly? I asked you if I could pay you to take a look at the internals to give me a better idea of whats going on and you refused. I am sorry you quoted the install at $5,000 which is $1,800 more than the price of the engine(labor costs) when i had already given you almost $800. I get that you are a company that needs to make money, but I am a person that needs to get by also, as are others. I understand that you do not want to loose money on this, but I did not want to either. This review will stand to let others know about my experience and they can judge themselves.

I was in a very difficult situation where I needed work done on my Kia sooner than later. I was fortunate enough to be referred to Daves Automotive and am very grateful that I was. The staff was extremely friendly and very informative. They were in communication with me regarding what was needed and what I could expect in terms of cost. Prior to using Daves Automotive I had the privledge of having my brother maintain my vehicles (until he decided to retire...) and I am happy to say I feel that Daves Automotive is the next best place to have my vehicle maintenced. I would higly recommend Daves Automotive is you want timely service, reasonable cost and integrity. Thank you to the staff at Daves Automotive for being kind, respectful and overall a great experience.Lydia

I took my veichle to this shop 3 times for same problem, first they said it was electrical, then change their mind and said it was fuel injectors. Then still having problem I took it back and they said it was engine. Every time taking it to them I waiting over a week to get any call or work done. Went to a friend who told me engine was fine. So took it back again to shop where they were convinced it was engine and asked them to prove it had compression leak to be replaced under warranty. They said they couldnt get it to happen this time and thought it was a sensor which they fixed. not even a day driving it, it had same problem. I took it back and again had to wait over a week for them to look at it to tell me they feel its something I already replaced. I feel they dont really know what they are doing and just keep guessing and made my veichle not a priority being in and out of shop for over a month. I finally just picked up my veichle and decided to go elsewhere. Jeff seams knowledgeable but I feel is all talk, and Megan who answers the phones is little to no help and is very rude. Also I was In and out of shop for months yet I never meet Dave, dont even know if he really exists.Only reason Im even giving them 2 stars because my boyfriend also brought his car here to get his axle done and they were able to do a part swap. Bravo! Even though Megan completely slaughtered his name. Never going back!

Paid just about $80 for an oil change and tire rotation. I made the mistake of not asking the cost before bringing my car in and expected a reasonable price based on other reviews. Not even the worst part, as I primarily needed to get my spare tire leak repaired which I made abundantly clear on the phone when booking the appointment and when I dropped it off. Spare tire leaks air slowly over a few weeks and I was leaving the next day for a road trip. After an hour and a half I hadnt heard from them (knew I was waiting on it), so I decided to poke my head back in (they dont have a waiting room so you have to wander around 38th, which is fine but theres nowhere around to sit and do work on a laptop) and found my car parked outside in a different spot than I left it. Walked in and they said it was done, but they said that they forgot to fix the spare tire leak and only filled it back up with air. I said its been a long time already and Id have to be going (had to go to work), so Ill come back later (which I wasnt, if you cant take care of my service request the first time Im not wasting my time a second). Figured Id get my spare fixed once I got to my destination the next day, since I know it holds most of its air for at least a week and could limp me by.Well, low and behold I got a flat tire the very next day in middle of nowhere Wyoming. Couldnt believe my terrible luck. Well, no biggie they at least filled it up with air. Nope. Only had 15psi. Had enough to limp me to the service station in Rawlings, WY to get my blown tire replaced and the spare leak fixed (was a bead leak).Busted out my paperwork to find their number and let them know that I was pretty upset with being told it was inflated when it obviously was not, and realized that the receipt said they topped off all fluids. I thought, well no way did they do that because I just ran out of washer fluid, and so I checked the others. Look at that, coolant is super low as well. Not a drop in the reservoir. Checked my tire pressure in my other tires as well, and two were low. Now I never explicitly asked for them to check my tire pressure, but figured that it was part of a tire rotation. Guess not.I cant seem to find a competent, trustworthy shop in the Wheat Ridge area.
