This place is incredible - filled with vintage audio gear from the golden age of home stereo equipment. When you hear the phrase they dont build them like they used to this is what theyre talking about. Unlike the disposable audio equipment available today, Electric City only carries audio gear that will withstand the test of time. Despite the store being incredibly busy on a weekend, the owner Eric helped me build a home stereo from the ground up, even hooking up the turntable to the receiver and speakers so I could hear how how it sounded. I had came prepared to spend significantly more than I did on the receiver, but thankfully he showed me a lesser-known brand that still produced incredible sound.Looking inside my new receiver I can tell it has been cared for and cleaned - with no dust the electronics inside look brand new. Even if a component inside goes bad I know Ill be able to get it fixed for a fair price at Electric City. Thank you Eric, Im excited to enjoy my new stereo setup for years to come!

I highly recommend Electric City. Theyve repaired seven or eight vintage audio components for me during the four or five years. Eric is passionate about vintage audio, completely honest, and really good at his job. Plus, they always have some nice gear for sale in the showroom so its fun to browse. There arent a lot of stores like this around, so vintage audio buffs in the Denver area are fortunate to have a place like this available.

I took in my Pioneer SX-780 Amp for repair and was charged 60 dollars. They fixed nothing and told me nothing new, but offered 30 dollars towards a new purchase, which is a joke because this amp goes for over 100 dollars just for parts on eBay. Cool store for new purchases, but charging 60 dollars to rend a customer literally nothing is a terrible customer experience.

Three weeks ago I found this group and I left my 1980’s Pilot Rack system there to be repaired. This is a very large system with a record player, cassette and 8 track . It also has a built in equalizer. This is a complex system to say the least . Not only did Eric and his team repair the whole unit, the where very through and did incredible work . My system plays like a dream and sounds like new ! Thank you Electric City for your honest hard work and good prices . And they also have a great equipment and record selection as well . This is one of the few places left in Denver that want to have your current equipment last longer instead of selling you a newer model. I got a Hafler DH-220 re-capped and looked over. When I first took it home, a fuse had blown before I plugged it in. No matter the cause, I brought it back the next day, they moved it to the front of the workbench order and had it back to me later that day. The owner is hands on with the shop, it is apparent that they care about both the customer and the equipment. If you need an amplifier repaired, get it done here. Understand that people are human, real life technicians work on the equipment. If, in the unlikely event a problem arises, call them and they will make sure it is handled in a Professional manner, even if in your mood you end up being an unpleasant customer.I will be a future customer

Electric City has come through for me on multiple pieces of vintage guitar gear and stereo equipment. Its really a one-stop shop for circuit work. Samantha knows her tube amps and got my silverface Super Reverb retubed and biased just right. It sounds so deep, alive and present! And I had worries about the filter caps, so she tested and swapped them out for a very reasonable price. She also tested the filter caps in my 80s Marshall and determined they were still in working spec so no need for any work--talk about fair! Ill be taking that one back to Samantha when its time for new power tubes. And my 70s Sherwood receiver and Empire turntable? Electric City got both running and tuned up for a great price. One thing I love is that they bag up all the unused components and return them to the customer. I trust this place 100% with my gear. Its also a great place to shop. I picked up a pair of KLM speakers and several excellent records from their vinyl shelves (not extensive, but well curated). Electric City simply is a great mix of vibe and value.

Electric City is awesome! I came across them completely by accident and I’m so glad that I did. I collect vintage radios - mid-century cabinet radios and 1980’s boomboxes - and it is amazing to have such a resource so close. I recently left a very dear radio with them for repair and they took very good car of both me and the boombox. They do great work, are priced fairly, and get work done in a timely manner considering they seem to stay busy - which is great! The showroom floor is a lot of fun too - it really does feel like walking into a stereo electronics store in the 80’s - lots of amazing audio equiptment manufactured from the 1940’s to the 1980’s and a small but solid selection of 8-tracks, cassettes, and vinyl records. Highly recommend!
