My snowblower stopped working and I kept forgetting to take it in. I remembered after the first real snowfall. :) Id heard great things about Daves Engine & Mower Shop and gave them a call. They were half the price of a local chain (Wein...) for their per hour fee. I really figured the entire repair was going to cost me $200 or so. I was so happy and surprised when it came out to just under $70. They got it back to me within a week or so. It snowed the following day and the snowblower worked like it was brand new. Great customer service, friendly staff, gave me a suggestion to prevent me from blowing up the starter, etc. Give them a call. Dont be like me and wait until you really need your mower or snowblower. Take it before you need it and let them fix it.

Jim has always been very helpful. He did all the maintaice on our leaf blower and weed Wacker. Does carie parts for small engines but not much in the higher HP range.

Their prices are fair. I bought my snow thrower and lawn mower from them years ago. Same price as big box stores but they took care of the warranty, assembly, and fueled it up.Their repairs are good and even though things can get very backed up when the cold weather breaks, they usually repair things pretty quick in my experience.That said, customer service is not their strong suit. In fact, its terrible. I dont expect much out of a business. Im just a normal customer just like everyone else. But its rare that I even get a hello from anyone at the desk. They just kind of stare at me.Im sure dealing with people who know nothing about small engines on a regular basis can make you jaded - I deal with the same thing at my job. People dont know computers as well as I do, but I try and help them rather than give a sense of superiority.Anyway, if youre making a purchase I think its still good to support small businesses. If youre going there for any sort of service or expect even a welcoming hello then head for the hills because theres a zero percent chance that youre going to get it.

This was my fourth stop after walking out of home Depot, Ace hardware and one smaller spot. I gave up for the day and was going home. Stopped into Daves on the way home just to see what it was all about. 15 min later I had a mower in my van fueled up and ready for work. Fair price and a kind, knowledgeable salesman who did not try to talk me into or out of anything. I appreciate this place and Im glad such establishments still exist.

I highly recommend this business to people. I originally went there to purchase a lawnmower and received excellent customer service, many mowers were explained to me allowing me to make the best choice. They gave me thorough instructions on how to work everything on my mower, and step by step how to maintain it. They even filled up the tank for me and gave me a great price. A few weeks after I purchased it, it started to smoke so I took it back to have them look at it. Within a few days they repaired it at no cost. Again, I highly recommend this place, its a business you can trust.

Great people, lawn mowers can get difficult sometimes but with the shop around you’ll never have to worry. Friendly staff that gets straight to the problem and work anyway possible to get the job done. Thanks for fixing my mower!

Have been going to Daves for years always helpful

Purchased my Toro Recycler new from them in 2014. Showing its age and had to replace the drive belt. Great counter service, part in stock, and the counter person suggested purchasing the blade driver assembly. He was right, the old one was worn and the mower is back together and works like new again. Saved me a trip back to the store.

Tried to fix/clean my Snowblower Carb but couldnt get it started for anything. They had it fixed up and working in no time. Were kind enough to explain what I did wrong (jets not all the way cleaned like I thought).Excellent service, not overpriced to repir and carry lots of parts. Highly Reccommend, and will be returning to buy parts for other equipment. Great Service!

I like this place. Theyve done a fine job performing routine maintenance on and repairing my snow blower and lawnmower over the past decade. I have twice used their Pre-Spring Tune-Up Special--which includes pick-up and delivery--for my lawnmower.

Lousy service. Took my snowblower in for winter checkup before snow season after 2 weeks waiting they didnt even look at it. Not to say they are also overpriced.

The old saying I give you money you give me service does not apply to this place. They are rude...Do lousy repairs...Had to take my weedwacker back twice to fix same problem...Told them the problem which they just ignored...They got it started and said fixed...Second time after 3 wks went and got it back ..Hadnt even looked at it.....Took it to Georges Lawn and Snow in Redford..Took them 2 days to fix problem..Apoligized for taking so long and didnt charge me....I think this is what you refer to as service...Sorry Dave you lost my business....Found a better place

Worst service ever paid 75 dollars for my mower to start twice and then was told it was the way I loaded or unloaded the mower what a pile of you know what not bringing a 300 dollar mower back until they decide to actually fix it it is not worth it how many more dollars will it take to make my 300 dollar mower run properly do not trust them to work on my mower any more
